Smythe D. Wonder Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Quick Grapple (Stun), strike, strike, rope down grapple, pick up, grapple, go behind, finisher. That's a bit of a chain in my eyes. I don`t see a problem with it at all... could have reversed at anytime... and after the knockdown... the pickup into finisher can`t be considered part of a chain... watch the rest of the matches... you`ll see chains like that everywhere... it`s a part of the game... and reversing chains is a part of being good at the game... I`m not talking endless chains either... but strike, stun grapple, strike, strike, knockdown is all but the norm nowadays... and it hardly happens to reversal monsters... cause they can catch a move and go on offense... the constant walking backwards thing... is the biggest ethics no no we have... only way to counter it is to keep them playing each other and keep them away from titles or anything else important... which is not what is happening... but whatever... Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
Trevor McManus Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I`m not talking endless chains either... but strike, stun grapple, strike, strike, knockdown is all but the norm nowadays... After three strong years R.I.P. OCW and it's founding principles. the constant walking backwards thing... is the biggest ethics no no we have... only way to counter it is to keep them playing each other and keep them away from titles or anything else important... which is not what is happening... but whatever... You honestly think that? Using 800 stun moves is cool but backing up is the most horrible thing this side of the crucifixion? You're drugs must be stronger than VS'. Like I said such a chain isn't a problem, but I've seen people in dark matches with doing endless chains almost. (with double whip) which is not very ethical and respectfull to your opponent. 2k8? Smythe D. Wonder Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 watching guys back up all the time is outright hideous... at least chain combos is actually playing... walking backwards all match, waiting for the other person to miss a grapple before you do anything is cowardly and cheesy... it`s boring to watch... crappy for the guy that has to face you... and it makes for garbage matches Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
Versus Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Smythe's Rule Book. Move forward. Everything else is legal. People complain, type til they can't stand the sight of ... anymore ... ... The End. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/JDVS/footprints_1.jpg
Nate Ortiz Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 like everything using it in moderation is alright when it comes to stuff like strike strike stun strike stun stun mabey even a whip strong grapple. but if it is the only thing your doing it is a problem (add up the damage and you can see its a problem if its all thats being done). IMO the constant backing away is just as bad. May 29 2005 - Present Took Dupree's Summer

I know you were on of those that did it a lot in 07 and havn't seen you doing it much this year, but there are people who do still use it as their main tactic. The Air Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 watching guys back up all the time is outright hideous... at least chain combos is actually playing... walking backwards all match, waiting for the other person to miss a grapple before you do anything is cowardly and cheesy... it`s boring to watch... crappy for the guy that has to face you... and it makes for garbage matches When playing those guys you got two options the nate mode and the experienced mode. The Experienced mode is actually doing the same too them so that they are forced too make a move at you. The Nate mode is walking up too them wait untill your so in reach they think they can get away with a move. Then counter it and unleash some strikes and grapples of your own that will make them mentally suffer. Also this may lead too people circling around cause no one lands a move, which is funny too see. 2k8? Tyro Kraven Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Picking up,with flashing finisher, for a toe kick front finisher, great no problem. Front finisher are to hard to hit, they need the help. But if the pickup when finisher is used to start a freaking OMG im gonna start a chain of moves to create a combo that the chances of u blocking my finisher is just wrong, really wrong. It's sad that we have to adress every little thing. Really really sad. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g58/Undertaker1012/281x211.jpg Finishers: "Where is Tyro?!" (Front,F-U 2) "Faaaceeebusstaaaaaah!!" ( Back, Facebuster 06) Signature moves: Oversell punches (Grapple) Fancy footwork punches (Grapple)
