Vic Vimes Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 http://www.ocwfed.net/recapshow/riot/newriotlogo.gif There you go.
Adrian Bold Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 great promos on page one but it seems like bauers and amart either got edited or its skipping frames every now and then Suddenly the locker room door slams open as Smythe walks in.* Smythe: "You really have turned into a washed up piece of crap haven't you?" LMFAO^^ http://i.imgur.com/zP10f.gif
Brad Bauer Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 missing exerpt from page one after Bauer/Martin.... SPOILER Bauer celebrates with the fans as Martin uses the ropes to pull himself up. He favors his neck after receiving the "Headliner". Bauer doesn't notice Martin as he gets his footing back down. Martin begins clapping after a well fought match. Bauer turns around and notices the respect from AMart. Bauer extends his hand and the two shake. Bauer raises Martin's hand to a well wrestled match. AMart gets the middle rope for Bauer as he leaves the ring. Bauer slaps a few hands as he makes his way back up the ramp. AMart remains in the ring reflecting on the match they just had.
Josiah Cross Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Ouch...I knew the Mayhem Bold matchup wouldnt live up to the hype. THE DEAN http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i41/bombsquad07/barb.jpg
Tyro Kraven Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Tyro's Judgement Opening : Brad Bauer vs Anthony Martin Match begins as expected between two technicians. Chops Chops and Chops. Lol at Martin with Vionic punch, actually doesnt look to bad. Match goes and as Amart is the first to go Yellow. The match has a very nice flow to it,back and forth, chop reversals but BB leading the way by getting Amart orange(who's head suprisingly is still uncolored, even after 5 min in the match). Amart makes a bit of a comeback hitting a fisherman and a nice fist drop.Match became a bit skippy near the end. At this point i got a bit anoyed by the regular "run - stops" both players seem to do. BB a bit more then Amart. But all and all the match was good. BB picks up a deserved win as he was dominant troughout the match. Match Flow : Good ,would have been better without the "run stops" Good match time, back and forth reversals. Moveset BB : Fine, chops FTW Moveset Amart : Also fine, nothing that looked out of place. Match Ending : The ending itself was fine but.. if you include the 2 min prior... BB 2x run stop but misses ,BB got germaned, BB run grapples/countered slides out ring,Amart backs of,BB slides back in run stop quick grapple, backs off, Run duck,Run grapple,Run duck, toe kick, finisher. Just to make clear,im not bitching just saying the ending took away something from the match. There is nothing wrong with doing a run stop now and again after a reversal or ground reversal, but i saw it a little bit to much this match, pretty much every time there was distance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Score : 8 Parker Stevens vs Kang James Lol match started a bit hectic with Doubel A not able to climb on the apron and both players not feeling like waiting for the right camara position. Kang James with a spinning chop..Nooo not you too?! *ahem* sorry had to do that. Parker starts out good and Kang no sells every ground grapple attempt he made so far. Nice spot,Kang jumping out of the ring but despite Kangs eternal reversing he gets yellow first but Parker catches up soon. Looks like its going to be a close one.Kang is reversing allot but Parker is still leading in damage, with Kang being dubbel yellow. Pretty much every grapple attempted by parker gets thrown back and when he finally does get a grapple in he slaps Kang! -_- how rude. The match goes on and for some reason Parker uses his finisher on double orange..ok. Anyways the match continue's and with Kang red his reversing skill has taken a plunge the tone is set. With parker now gaining finishers at every fart its only a matter of time. Kang manages to fend of a few attempts but eventually falls. Match Flow: Average and a bit dragged.. Dunno if it was the manager view or the clash of playing styles. Moveset Kang: Not a fan of spinning chop or the Double axe handle, looks out of place. Moveset Parker: Also not a fan of the double axe handle, you're to light build and Parker isnt powerish at all(u use shining wizards, enzequire karate kick,so this version of the double axe handle doesnt really fit with the above moves) Match Ending: I think there was nothing wrong it. Not sure if that gutbuster packs the punch of a finisher though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Score: 6.5 Majin vs Ed Reed Love the entrance, know you have it for a while but still love it. Match starts off with punches wich im guessing i will see allot more in the course of this match. First big grapple in the match comes from Reed, one of Majin's favorites, the snapmare dropkick..Majin does not like this and immidiatly follows up with a snapmare dropkick of his own, booya. Reed turns yellow suprisingly fast..didnt even see that many moves connect but then again he's a lhvy. Majin takes the lead getting Reed dubbel yellow and throws in a few taunts to let Reed know. Camara angle confused Majin it seems since he ran the compleet wrong direction after the running knee's lol. At this point Majin is kicking and punching reed all over the ring, with Reed not getting many reversals. Regains some momentum after the Over castle from the top rope but Majina breaks up by spending regain his composure outside. Reed gets back into action as to my suprise Majin turns red first. Both Reed and Majin suddenly turn into Ingrapple gods and start insane reversal chain,2 times in a row. Reed smells victory but couldn't get the finisher in then Majin takes his turn also loses it but quickly regains and finally hits his finisher. Good match. Match Flow: Good, for a hvy vs lhvy match it was a good, good match time too not to long. Moveset Reed: Fine, interesting Phoenix splash though lol Moveset Majin: Fine Match Ending: Normal clean finish, nothing standing out ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match score : 8 Mayhem vs Adrian Bold I have a bad feeling about this match...hope i'm proven wrong. It is lagging a bit it seems. Bold comes up with a running clothesline 13..wich doesnt suit him i'd say,it's a lhvy clothesline but o well. There really isnt much to comment on in this match. Bold is really good at the game but watching this just is meh.Dunno if Mayhem was tired or something but i know he can reverse more then this, combining that both dont like eachother and you get this match. A match with every possible entertainment value sucked out of it. No rating Leonheart vs AJ Phoenix Match starts normal for a tech vs tech match, otherwise i would bitches about the early TB move. Nice backdrop from AJ and Leon has no luck with Rocks punch so far. Leon takes the lead though getting AJ yellow first but doesnt take long for AJ to settle the score. The battle goes back and forth with Leon acting different then usual with the long grapples. Despite that both players get the same amount of moves in with the balance leaning towards AJ. Big boot looks a bit weird on AJ for a guy who does dropkicks and such, moving on. They take it to the outside where AJ hands out a can of whoops and Leon let's AJ taste TB steel. Notice there isnt much reversing going on this match lol. AJ gets leon DDR and gaines a finisher but Leon reverses not once but twice. But despite the finisher Leon can't seem to break AJ's dominance and eventually falls to AJ's kick to the head. Match Flow: An interesting match, good match time, allot of moves hit, nice finisher reversals from Leon Moveset Leon: Fine Moveset AJ: Fine, but i would take something else for the Big Boot Match ending: Good, felt good after the first 2 missed attempts ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Score: 8.5 Guy Fausto vs Smythe Da Wonder Seems Guy likes that side kick. So far this match contains more strikes then Turmoil's Ministry vs MMM. Guy puts Smythe in a Chinlock wich gets broken up by the ropebreak but Guy as evil as he is holds it down for the 4 count..by gawd that Smythe didnt pass out is beyond me. The match continues on with Guy holding a good grip on Smythe and not giving much time to gain any momentum. At 7:59 Guy attempts a ground grapple but gets reversed and is trapped in the corner Smythe immidiatly iniates the strike wich raises my question, does this fall under reverse hovering also, not a grapple, but a strike ? Discuss. Moving on. Where were we ? Aah yes Guy reversing like hell and Smythe not getting much other then strikes and a quick grapple here and there. This pretty much sets the tone of the match and Guy ends the match with a nice moonsault. Match Flow: Dominant match up,good amount of moves, again a good match time not to long. Moveset Guy: Fine Moveset Smythe: Fine Match Ending: Normal --------------------------------------- Match Score: 8 http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g58/Undertaker1012/281x211.jpg Finishers: "Where is Tyro?!" (Front,F-U 2) "Faaaceeebusstaaaaaah!!" ( Back, Facebuster 06) Signature moves: Oversell punches (Grapple) Fancy footwork punches (Grapple)

With parker now gaining finishers at every fart its only a matter of time. Kang manages to fend of a few attempts but eventually falls. Well his toe kick turned me red so I didn't mind it. Was extremely tired that match as well but it was good. Also don't know if this was a miss spell but I got a chuckle outta it "With Parker now gaining finishers at every Fart". http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/forum/file.php?40,file=21309,filename=thats_racist_racist.gif IT'S THE KING, BITCH! 2x International Champion 1x Hardcore Champion
Parker Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I asked Kaang to re-watch the match after he recorded it as i also thought i hit my finisher on double orange, but Kaang told me that the last toe kick turned him red, and he was cool with it.also i didnt pin after the 1st finisher due to me being a retard and pressing the wrong direction and chopping him instead of pinning him :(,plus, the gut buster is a very sellable finisher, you ever try dropping somebody with the force of their own body weight onto your knees? if you did it to fausto you'd kill him :) http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/5774/sig2uq.jpg 2 x Hardcore Champion (Longest defending OCW champ,19 defences) 1 x NA Champion 1 x Pride Champion 1 x TV Champion 2 x OCW World Heavyweight Champion F.I Winner 2012 MOTN vs Leonheart @ Wrestlution 7 'Don't worry about no one else, hows my hair look' - Tiberius Dupree 'Wipe you ass and go to bed' - Sensation to B17
Vic Vimes Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 It's a spoiler and that's exactly why I cut it. I don't add RPs that spoil the match immediately after unless it has significant storyline significance. See: Majin's. 1 paragraph blurbs don't make the cut.
Smythe D. Wonder Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Riot was good not great... alot of things are meh'ing about OCW ATM... start with Martin not fighting CJ... (timezones) so Martin gets to chose anyone he wants to wrestle and he chooses Brad Bauer... for a shot at an ME calibur wrestler.. match is good... starts out with the tech whore struggle... flows decently throughout... the run skipping has been picked up by both parties... especially Bauer who's getting a lil run happy lately... and he finishes the match with a bunch of running moves yet again... missed running grapple... out of ring back in reverse hover... run under, running DDT... run under toe kick finisher... pretty much cheating Martin out of a good match... but... a win is a win right??? hey I saw Kang earlier in the night at Riot... his shirt said "I'm a sucker" on the back of it... surely he should know that he's gonna walk into an ass whooping tonight... stupid Kang... poor VV keeps talking about winning but all he does is lose.... and Mace without a tag partner looks to become the new face of hardcore... I want to see this match badly... and I'll record it... so VV stands a chance... sweet endgames match here... DON'T MAKE IT TOO EARLY VIMES... need to see a build up here... even the oblivious Leon sees it Kang... dammit put a kick me sign on this guy already.... I think the chop is the base move in OCW... like everyone must have it.... watching Pee Stee meet reversal Kang is a funny site... theses two are actually a great match together in the ring... they work well... and this feud is awesome... 3 solid guys in a feud... anything can happen and I'm gonna love watching all of this... Pee Stee gets the win and Kang is starting to look like VV... all the talk but no success to back it up.... Kang gets owned as everyone expected... the psycho and the drunk together is a sweet combo... almost as good as Smythe and Pee Stee... lol... i kid... Casey leaves Majin... now that he's found his true lover "Heaton" Casey is surely jealous... stupid CJ is still mad about ambition... but CJ... you put me through a table with stupid Leon... what happened before doesn't matter... it was payback... geez... why you so mad??? look like I might have to deal with this sooner than later... dammit... Reed/Majin was a good match... Majin has a funny pattern where he knocks you down and when you get up and get back in range he strong grapples like 90% of the time right away... funny to watch... Reed almost pulls it off... would like to see a set up move for the Lionsault tho... still a good match... Majin has his eyes on the tag titles and I don't think reed and Strider can beat Majin and Heaton.... would love to see Heaton and Majin actually tag in a match first... or beat dome of the other teams that are around before a title shot tho... Smythe is at it again... first making an "ironman Jones" match for endgames with Leon... then annoucing contendership for the OCW title... With a mid-card sweep in the books... I'm telling Vimes that I should be up for the OCW title... typical Smythe running his big mouth... but with a streak of wins under his belt... people are taking him more seriously... a win over Fausto could be a start of something massive for me.... Bold Mayhem is a squash... a massive one... Bold's moveset is geared towards in game mechanics more than it defines a character... he outplays Mayhem massively here tho... reverses better than anyone I've ever seen... but Bold has the chops... then a double axe handle... he has the chop block run attack chain... then he has the airplane spin... it's just all over the place... he has the most dominant moves in the game... straight punch, chops, axe handle, running chain chop... he uses his powerhouse perk at a ridiculous time not flowing with the match at all... pretty much now that Chino is sured... Bold is the closest thing to fighting a random cheeser online... your character needs help finding an in ring identity... Nate declares war on Kage... I wish I could run to the ring and kick him in the nuts for you Kage... but we'll get that dummy next week... promise... Fixxer comfronts Mayhem... I know he just jobbed... but your a little ex guy... Mayhem will eat you... AJ Leon is next... another battle of the tech whore to start... Jesus Rachel looks like a slut... haha... AJ dodges Leon's rock punch like 3 times... lol... AJ reverse hovers with the big boot... boo... and we meet the gray area in the reverse hover rule... a countered strike means the downed wrestler gets up quickly and is allowed to attack due to reversing the ground strike... need to be looked at... this match all comes down to a few things... Leon engages with a strong grapple alot in this match.... a losing strategy... everytime... you can't walk upto people and strong grapple them in 08 at all.. you have to work to earn strong grapples... and AJ uses the back away to make Leon miss everything... looks like Leon put landing a few strong grapples over trying to win the match... and it cost him... Fasuto's gonna make a suicide dive in our match... sweet... a win for me.. mmuuaahahahaha Leon won't go with my plan... which is to screw the nerd out of the title... second week we can do it... he better co-operate this time... stupid Leon... Smythe/Fausto is proof of a few things... 1. this game is nothing of luck... I'm not in top form and I job... I could have played better my reversing was off... the match flows very well... and me and fausto are push the pace wrestler... also look at the difference of moveset from a face wrestler to a heel wrestler... Fausto chops and leg kicks... while I punch and toe kick... if you watch this match... there's hardly any missed moves due to space... it's all attack reverse... I use space to my advantage at times by knowing Fausto plane of attack... but the gaps are few and far between... the person who is better at the game will win at that time will win 100% of the time when matches are like this... because there's nothing to hide behind... and Fausto deals with my case... match spots... one point Fausto goes for a running grapple and I dodge him by Grabbing the ref and aiming at Fausto who jumps out of the ring as the ref goes flying... with the ref out I go to grab my trusty weapon that cost Chino the NA title... and Leonthe hardcore title... the sledgehammer... but it's all for not as Fuasto just hits his stupid running attack when I get in the ring with the hammer... the sledgeahmmer just sits int he ring the rest of the match and me and Fausto use in as a prop to work around on the ground... match would have been much closer if I wasn't reversing like a tard all match... but I do job when I record... after the match Majin and Heaton make the ultra late save (thanks guys).. then Reed and Strider make a late save for fausto... interesting indeed... ok Riot some great feuds are coming tho... that I marked for... Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
The Air Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Smythe nice commentary as always I only wish you didnt comment so much on the fact that its so hard too get strong grapples in. If you check other matches youll see that some people are pretty good at getting those strong grapples in even without a setup move. So I think you said it yourself about the commentary of how bad 2k8 is and that is you need too practice too get better. Same goes for those strong grapples. I don't have so much problem getting the intial strong grapple in. It's only the follow up (when in-grapple) that is sometimes hard too get in (for me), cause you have multiple chances too counter in 2k8. 2k8? I havent figured out 2k7 yet - Big Joe D I am the First Dutch EX-Champion - The Air I am the First European EX-Champion - The Air I am the First True EX-Champion - The Air Delusional? Not at all! I Speak the Truth, cause I can proof it and the others can't. Those Heavy !@#$%^&& ain't got none on me.
