Bonus Round: Is there a reason why Chill Faktor is spelled wrong? Is it related to something sweet from back in the GOLDEN YEARS of TWO-THOUSAND-AND-SEVEN or is it just to be edgy like HOTWHEELZ? Not up for debate… just a legitimate question.

I couldn't think of anything for a holiday event, so I decided to go with Chill Factor, then I ran into something on the internet and said fuck it lets change the C to a K, EXTREME!

 

We start the show off with Dupree a little bit out of his element, sure we're back to Dupree TV, but his mannerisms and words seem a little… uncomfortable. Ignoring the obvious swerve at the end, we saw a different side of Dupree. A little more violent, a lot more about himself, and a lot less concern for the safety of others.

 

Question: Did you see the heel turn coming? We all know Jay likes to "slow burn" everything, but sometimes the intentions become obvious a little too soon. Would you have done it differently? How would you have booked the ultimate face turning into a bad guy? Can OCW afford to lose it's greatest face?

I am biased because I am old school, and I don't really like WHOOPS IMA HEEL NOW HUE HUE HUE HUE. If I had it my way I would have had Dupree throw the chair back in my face and then eat a siren costing him the match. But 5 weeks is enough and what's done is done, I am very pleased with the end result. Ya'll say you saw it coming but it quite have easily just been Dupree OVERCOMING THE ODDS, and half smiling all the way to the bank, much to the sites chagrin, so YOU'RE WELCOME.

 

My thoughts: Although I like how this storyline is turning up, I have a feeling that I would have liked it if it was more sudden. If it was at a show like the 8 Year Anniversary to close the show, out of nowhere, and with a good month of no content to left the deed set in. Just my opinion, but I still think the end result is awesome.

Trance time! We see Trance trying to establish his new persona for the year against poor Spoon (who can't get a break since our last debate). We also see Smythe no show… so that was a thing.

 

Question: Got a couple for this one--Trance is obviously biting heavily on Steen for this new personality, down to the theme song. How do you feel about it and where do you think the Trance character goes from here? How do you feel about gimmick infringement?

 

Ninja Trance has the audacity to pipe on others who pull inspiration from WCW/WWE/TNA , (I Cannot cite sources) yet he is ripping Steen, I mean I don't care I am only familiar with a small fraction of what Steen is, but I do know the Steen Merch, and I was disappointed, he could have at least changed it to Eat Trance Eat, but I digress, if he wants to be Jacob Steen, that's his business, Oh WAIT I REM NOW, he used to give TRIPS SHIT! Or was that the entire site....?

 

Question: Obligatory "Where does Mania go from here?" question. WHat should his short and long term goals be for this year?

 

Mania can fued with fatty, flake, or rebuild his Spoon win gimmick from back in the day. Short term establish himself in this generation, Long term, hold the international championship for 200 days.

Question: With an extra week to get a match done, no Smythe. What do you think about it? Are you surprised?

Smythe's always been full of bolonga. When he is on he is on, when he is off he is really off. But its no different than anyone else who pops off mid fued, can site Lotus for example where the talking points went MIA, shit happens.

 

My thoughts: I honestly have never had a problem with tribute characters, I actually think its a great way to start off a character, and over time they begin to metamorphosis into something different

 

My thoughts: Spoon needs a training montage!

I thought Kain, Laz, and Hollywood stepped it up. They have proven they can hop on the Main Roster at any time and go word for word with the rest of us.

1st up....

 

Matsuda vs Terry

 

I expected this to be a high speed train wreck...but I really, REALLY enjoyed this match.

 

Some awesome spots in there, Suda shoulder tackiling Terry off the apron onto a table that doesnt job, looked like it killed Terry, Suda's reverse frankeinsteiner looked sick.

Romero has one of the coolest looking CAF's I've ever seen, the top rope 619 kick, flowed perfectly into Suda's catch finisher..that was awesome sauce.

 

BOTCH OF THE YEAR - Terry's running vandaminator attempt to a floored, corner Suda, only to boot the chair out of the ring and face plant was HILARIOUS...and HAS to be botch of the year so far.

 

Suda shouldering Terry in the kidneys through a table looke painful.

 

Pretty much one of the best EX matches I've enjoyed in a long time...all 16 minutes 33 seconds of it.
