I think this is the opening for a big discussion in, who is 'ready' for the main event level and World title contendership?

If it looks as though Pugh is taking his foot off the gas on that front, and Betterness has no interest in chasing the title, who does? Who's ready? Who's poised in that position?

I would personally say Tobin, and not just because he Tobin bombed my ass into my throat, because watching that match back I actually got way more offense in than I remember, but I just think Tobin has that serious bidness champ character, though to my knowledge, he's not really looking to jump into the World title scene right this second.

Is it time for Matsuda to take his shot? Does Sean return?

--------------------

Here's another discussion I'd like to bring up after watching the Minio vs. Tobin match, is the lack of true Ex division wrestlers due to the fact that high flying is a flawed strategy on WWE?

As people have pointed out before, springboards are near impossible in 1vs1 without some hovering, because if someone is standing they can very easily dodge you. In the match, I somehow botch a top rope move to Tobin when he was laying flat on the mat. He didn't move, he didn't reverse, my character just biffed it about 6 feet to the left of Tobin for some fucking reason, and quite frankly, this happens fairly often. Both Suda and I had some high fly botches in our recent match that made absolutely no sense.

So should I begin weening out the springboards and top rope offense? It's not to say that it made the different in either match, but it's certainly not helping my ability to win when I am doing damage to myself in situations that should either be a move hitting or a reversal, I'm giving up momentum and upper hand, and it makes my character look fucking incompetent. I feel like everyone knows that high flying offense in this game is fucked, but I missed the memo.

With springboard moves you just gotta develop a timing with em. Kent has taken many disaster kicks to the face because I time them so well. Sometimes the game just sucks with the high flying stuff. That is why I botch my dive outside 75% of the time. I'd suggest having a few spots to use them, but just don't over do the flying stuff because it will put you at a disadvantage. It our match the connection was pretty crappy for some reason I felt that impacted it a little because our DMs have been better.

Congrats to the new champ. Heavy is the head the holds the crown. But hold it proudly, as the first man to hold that thing I say good luck. Take the ball and run with it.

I'm glad to see so many people putting in work. Can we keep it up for next week? We are inching closer to Lution season, so it's time to raise things up a notch.

I leave the discussion on whos Main event to others. In terms of true ex guys, we never had allot of those. Even most Ex characters we did have were Default face gallore or half assed alts. CJ hoppus,Air,DJ Chino,Djack ..all former EX guys but all with the CAW charisma of a peanut. (sorry Ronald ;_;)

And i think to have an interesting EX division, you need interesting looking Caws to make it exciting. Its hard to fued within EX division when most guys look either so out of place you can't take them serious, or so damm plain you cant figure out what the hell you should be fueding about. I've held the EX title for almost a year i think and as far as i remember ive only managed to fued with Jookie ( who vanished occasionally for ) and then Suda.

Aside from that in general i think people will generaly try and aim for the main title so that is very hard when ur cruiser. 2k 14 is making things harder though, ive noticed how screwy the detection is this. Is very uncool.

I think you need to use the springboards in a clever way. I still use them every single match, and I have ways that I make them work. Teasing outside dives etc. You just have to know when they'll work and when they won't. They're too inaccurate to build a moveset around, so you need to be clever with what you use.

Yeah, I definitely need to pick the spots better. I tried to build my character as this undersized guy who used his body as a weapon but the game just does not really reward that.

My only problem is, even if I use the high flying sparingly, it still has a solid chance of completely botching out. Even if that top rope attempt was my only attempt in the Tobin match, my character still had a stroke midair and missed Tobin by a mile and he was actually positioned well and at a good distance from the turnbuckle.

As the premier Ex Division wrestler of our time, the Ex Style is as hit or miss as it is in real life. High risk high reward, and it's the only offense that you can hurt yourself as much as your opponent. You've gotta know when to pick your spots, the springboards I do often I usually hit: the sidekick the overcastle, you gotta know when you are most likely to land them.

Sure there are botches and sometimes your just off, but Jay once said when I am on with the ariels it is lovely to watch.

I guess that's why I don't complain that there are enough ex guys, it's not for everyone. It's playing on hard mode.

I miss the x-division... I also miss the fridge...

Which is the lesser of two evils...

Fucka timing, I only use springboards that allow me to land on my feet or roll if I miss.

Then again I'm not a true ex guy, although I do have less big man moves than all of you hoes! So maybe I am!

1 win does not prove he's best at the game..haha..it proves he was best on that night.

The win was also sketchy in my eyes, from 10-13 the rule was that after a pick up > groggy you must let your opponent to his feet of his own accord, this match ended with a pick up > groggy limb check > wake up > finisher..to me that an FPR break, but it seems in 14 no-one plays with any rules, so essentially you could just pick up > groggy > pick up > groggy > pick up > groggy etc

Which is lame and cheesy as fuck.

But it's his moment now...let him prove everyone wrong.

I know I won't be watching many ME matches for a while though.

I agree about pick up groggy and wake up finisher. I have had it done to me and I hate it but it's not against the rules even though it’s lame, just down to ethics. In this case though, I saw Pugh hover Cody at one point in this match and he also rushed him as soon as he got into the ring.

All in all, congrats Cody. I worked with both Cody and Sean and Cody did a lot of the writing for me and Sean. He is a hard worker. I had to work with Valmont at one point, another person people found boring but back when I worked with him, he worked his ass off and was fun to work with. I gave people a chance though. Chris Mania along with me were not good writers but people loved our matches along with guys like Vega.

I won’t name names cause I like to keep some thoughts to myself but I find a few other people here that lack charisma, sure some people feel that way about me but I don't shit all over what they do but that's just me. At least Cody didn't leave like I did though. I really hope you prove everyone here wrong Cody.
