I'm willing to tell him when he's doing something I don't like, and because I don't despise him as a person he might be more willing to hear my criticism. I completely agree with Bobby that maybe this might have been a little better if they introduced the mom and built to this moment, live an learn for next time, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a cool moment and lightyears better than the "USE THE CRANE TO STOP CODY FROM GETTING THE TITLE" scenario that you predicted.
