Cody Storm Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 We don't agree on a lot of things Parker, but I'll take Dushku over Gellar anytime! 2
Cody Storm Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Also I screwed up and forgot to re-paste the URL to the entrance for the RP between myself, The Blacklist, and Bobby. So for anyone who wants to know why D was playing air guitar all of a sudden xD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7vn4r2gxtiqsf3g/Blacklist%20and%20Cody%20Storm.mp4 1
Cody Storm Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Excuse my posting three times in a row (unless someone posts before I hit go on this thing), but I just finished Riot so I'm going to do my review while it's all fresh in my head. So with that being said: SPOILERS AHEAD We're going to do this review differently than normal. I usually just go along with the show, but I think because so many people did so many different segments of this show I'd rather talk about the people instead of the individual things. Our Hero: Our Hero actually did exactly what he said he was going to do with this one. He came out to the ring, he celebrated his comeback, but then he made a statement to all of the 'boys in the back'. He told us that there are a lot of people leaving now who have carried Riot on their backs for a couple of years and that we have to do our parts now to showoff, make names for ourselves, and keep OCW not just going but hopefully getting better. Interestingly enough, he put his money where his mouth was as this was the only time we saw Our Hero on this broadcast, which effectively means that any judgement that is made on this show is entirely ours. It was a good RP, I'm glad to have him back, and I'm glad to have the chance to run with the ball. Rebelution: This duo put in a lot of material on this show. They interacted with Jookie, Drago, Trance's family, and had a match so it was good stuff. It's always interesting to see how a team is going to get through having a match against each other, and these two actually ended up being the final two in the battle royal they were in. Cobra won the match with a sweet looking spear, and the two kept moving on like nothing happened, so that's good. I think they need some more experience playing as a tag team though, as they looked a little out of sorts trying to play around each other in the match. Bombshells: All I can say about this is that when the ref introduces you "from no where in particular" you know you're about to get jobbed out. I really like the gimmick here, so I was hyped for the attack. K.D.: I never want to actually see this Boondox area because it sounds terrible! I like the new direction for your character and you picked a good quote to use before facing Sherwood cause he's a greedy, greedy man. The Blacklist: We had one hell of a Lution weekend, and anytime we tried to revel in that fact, something stupid happened xD. The writing Wheeler put in was good this week, and D's spots were sweet in the match even though it was hard to see them because that match was botched in the render. Drago Cesar: I know I came off a few months ago saying I liked your character, but didn't love the comedy stuff because there was so much of it going on, but now that you were the only comedy RP on the show I actually loved it! That shit was hilarious. I was looking forward to Trance v Drago because the last one was a good showing, but that's ok. Sean McGee: Someone's riding high right now huh? Nah, good for you. It was a huge win at 'Lution, and while I'm not certain what's in that F.I. it's good to see you walking around with some confidence. I'm going to need you to go back and rewatch Certified Greatness though and remember what happens when you try to step up to me. Mugen: I can't believe this is the first singles title of your career. Definitely well deserved and I'm psyched to see what you do with it! I really wish that you/Pugh had been a fully fledged angle because I feel like it could have been so much more, but I understand he wanted out of OCW for the time being. As far as one off's go it was a very good match. I think you're a great guy to be holding the belt as we enter this "Next Gen" Era (despite being one of the longest going members here xD). Pugh: Obviously we don't get along very well, but I'd be wrong to ignore everything you've done for OCW. So thank you very much. And thanks for leaving a new version of the arena behind, you did a great job on this one. I really like the X-Tron. Jacob Trance: Are you trying to stir up shit with everyone? You got in Drago's face before dodging the match, sent your boys to do something with Rebelution, and then you come out and try to make a statement on my time? Haven't we been through this? If you go down this path you need to remind yourself that you're not dealing with the same Cody Storm anymore....... Tobin Frost: That was a pretty good match with Cut-Throat. I half expected a Tobin Bomb to come after you kicked out of the first finisher, but it was still a good showing none-the-less. I think what you said in the ring was pretty spot on considering how things have gone the last week and a half for you, you have to look at it as a new year and a new beginning. And I didn't even think about the short list you made it onto by main eventing 'Lution. Cut-Throat & Bobby Minio: I'm doing the two of you together for the fact that I think if this show was supposed to be about setting up a new generation going forward, the matches that you two put on give a lot of promise. You both faced off against guys that are more or less veterans around here given some of the longer standing members are gone now and you both looked fantastic. Cut-Throat beat the last #1 contender to the World Title, and Bobby, a guy that hasn't always been the most successful in the ring gave me a run for my money. I think if this match was booked when Bobby and I were actually at each other's throats it may have been a little bit different, as I probably would have played thirsty as all hell. But I played my normal Riot match and Bobby showed the fuck up! That makes me very hopeful, because you're going to be extremely successful if you can bring your stick skills up to the level of your mouth. I think this was a good show overall. We all need to start proof reading our material before we send it in though. I know I made a few typos, and I saw others do the same. I think a big strength of the show was that it seemed like everyone got involved with multiple people in several ways. It's not usual that we see a show and don't know exactly who's working with who. I got interrupted by Trance, Bobby, and Sean this week. Drago and Trance had a verbal standoff while Drago's beefing with Rebelution. Trance sent Eli to go after Rebelution. I have no real clue what's going to happen, and for a show right after a ppv, especially the biggest of the year, I really like that everything is so up in the air. Apologies to Parker that you're back doing this, and that the first week everyone kind of screwed up (I know I certainly did). I appreciate it either way. 7
