Tre Golden Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 So, I woke up for work about and had Sophia tell me there was a cast. I asked what it was for and she kinda cringed before telling me. At least I had a warning going in, unlike Tank. As a disclaimer, I don't write this from a place of butt hurt or even annoyance, but disappointment. When I try to recruit for OCW, I often get asked what it is. I say it's the perfect mix between roleplay and wrestling. But more and more I've come to learn that the ‘Hoot Cast’ is what OCW really is, and that's a shame. Was my match perfect? Absolutely not. But then again none of the matches were. Was it the worst match in OCW’s history? I don't believe so. I've seen matches that I consider much worse, some from Riot and some from Turmoil. No doubt that the match should have been redone, no exscuse there. But haven't we all made mistakes or had a case of poor judgement? I'm still learning about OCW. It's becoming clear to me that I applied to OCW as someone who was very naive to what this place was. The terms Veteran and Community get thrown out a lot on this site. A veteran is someone with more experience that rookies can learn from. Veterans are supposed to take rookies under their wing and pass on knowledge, so when that Vet is gone, he can be sure that the work ethic and skill he brought to the table remains. There's what a Veteran is supposed to do, and then there is what most but not all of our OCW Vets do, and that is sad. Moving on to the term community, I've been running a roleplaying community for almost six years and I would never treat new people the way you do. I've been roleplaying for fifteen years. Does that give me the authority to post a podcast here about how some of you write? We’ve got ‘top guys’, ‘hoots’, and good brothers who can't spell for shit. We’ve got main eventers and vets that can't fucking tell that there is a difference between ‘your’ and ‘you're’, but do I record something for the sole purpose of putting them down? No, because it would embarrass them and do me no good. I also know I have grammatical errors here and there. I don’t do it because until last night, I cared about this place, the opinions of people on it, and was 110% committed. This isn't a community. I would love some criticism. Even some tough criticism. Again, I know I'm not perfect at this. I joined in January with goals of being a top guy in a few years, and maybe even main eventing a few lutions before my time comes when I need to step aside for a newer player. I know for a fact I'm capable. But there's a difference between criticism / tough love and what last night was. Last night was a group of guys putting themselves over while shitting on two relatively new people when they should be trying to help. I've listened to the cast twice now, and I honestly don't feel like I've learned anything other than how toxic this place can be. The only person with experience that's ever actually taken the time to critique me, good or bad, did it in private, and he's gone now because he didn't like what this place was becoming. I had a month with a mentor in the shallow end before getting tossed to the Sharks, how can I be expected to be Michael Phelps already? And why not criticize the entire show? Like non champions being shown to have resiliency. I shouldn't have to read ‘this isn't Turmoil, this is Riot’. That's the toxic mindset that prevents this place from being all that it can be. It should be ‘This is OCW’ period. Whether you like it or not, watch it not, Turmoil is a reflection of OCW just as much as Riot is. So rather than being what you all have been since I joined, why not put that energy towards making OCW as a whole, better? You don't need to play on the same system as someone to offer some advice. When enthusiastic newcomers like me who are passionate about this place are feeling cut down, it's no wonder we can't really keep any rookies. I've talked FOUR Turmoil people out of quitting, and two of them have been here longer than me. I shouldn't have to do that. To say that I should be stripped of the TV title over one match is upsetting and asinine, especially with the time and effort I put in. It's disrespectful. Am i going to flake out and quit? No, I've got tougher skin than the average rook. Not to mention It would screw over Sophia and Dylan. But I also wasn't going to be like most of Turmoil and suffer in silence after that podcast, after I was focused on like that, absolutely not. Were all of you the best in your first three months? Shit I'm told Pugh sucked for his first three years. Would a podcast like last night have helped any of you? I doubt it. I would be dishonest if I said I wasn't a little less invested in this place after that podcast. I'll continue to watch both shows, but i'm done with this thread and replying to most of the forum in general. I'll still contribute to Turmoil and do my part to make it better. I believe in the PS4 brand. But then again, these are just my opinions. Opinions are like assholes, some get used and abused more than others. OCW suffers from wwe syndrome. Turmoil players will still be shit on even when the content is good, because the talent don't have any options on where they can land if they decide to leave the company. For people that don't even watch Turmoil to say I should be stripped is beyond stupid. If Sensation wish to do so off of ‘uniformed’ opinions, then so be it. I'll just get it back… And no; not back to the drawing board and putting the turmoil title on a vet aren't helpful things to add. Is Jacob supposed to GM and hold the damn title? If that's the case, he might as well just start using Triple H’s entrance and start calling sensation his father in law. If you truly believe that a Vet should hold the title, get a ps4. It's a new brand, it's going to take time. Was Riot the shit from day one? Probably not. On a lighter note, aj devitt is changing the red arrow to the coup de grace. In closing, there are constructive ways to critique, and then there's the hoot cast. It's just as bad, if not worse than the match with Tank. Because this came from vets that should know better. We should have been taken aside into a voice or something. I think it's shameful that something like this was allowed to be recorded and posted. I'm going say I hope you stay, your a great asset to turmoil. This is more that you got CHEATED in the match flagrantly, like really bad , and your staff isn't making sure rules are being enforced. And this person has done it repeatedly, and it sucks because on the mic he's solid, match wise and competitive he takes advantage. Also, these guys were all in character, they arnt very nice lol. And like they said your bets arnt around, heck the vet you said who left led you to believe something that wasn't true, and left after he got beat. On the XBone, even last night I had world champions, NA champions, EX Division and hall of famers in party chat, where I could just ask them questions. And honestly this a RP and Competitive league and in that regard rules should be harped on, if they arnt then anyone can do what they want. ask these guys questions, no lie they will give you shit, but they give you gems of advice. Cept' Leon, he'll just drown you out to ask questions about the Division. 8
Smythe D. Wonder Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I didn't listen to the podcast because it was in bad taste... I knew it was from when I read that it was just about that one match... And everyone has said that it didn't need to happen... The current issue I have is that you guys are making excuses for blatant disregard of how things are done in OCW... When you signed up we asked if you understood FPR and you both said yes... A match like this shouldn't happen if you have even a basic grasp of FPR... So even if you're rushed to do a match, if you have any idea of how matches should look you should know that this isn't how they are done. So the question becomes do you guys not think that FPR is important??? Is using the right variation of "there" and "you're" more important to you than FPR??? This isn't merely a mistake... This is disregard... And yes the titles should have been placed on veterans because you guys don't follow the rules of the ring on TV... Running an RP fed is fine and dandy... But here we RP to sell these matches... So even if your spelling is top notch if you wrestle like that your supposed to be curtain jerker status forever... So while you believe that there has been worse matches I will go on record and say that was the worst OCW match ever aired... You guys need to learn about where you are, the history of this place and you need to get comfortable on the sticks... I personally don't want to see that mess again!!! 7 Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
Pugh Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I wanna mark out twice for Smythe here. OCW is broken beyond repair 2 No.
Leon Valentine Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 But I don't really get why this podcast was made , all you will basically achieve with it is getting Tank to quit, and for all the shit Jay gives us about busting on people , I'm not sure why he'd endorse nothing more than a public burying of a title match. I not watched the podcast but it says something when the biggest cyber bully here says that and I agree with him. This is why I miss old school Sensation because back then you wouldn't need to go to anyone, you would pull their ass on aim. Tell them not to fuck with your good nature and that they should know better and that you are DISAPPOINTED. Tank you should defiantly have known better. A finisher on yellow is NO. That's a automatic redo and I agree with Spider that it doesn't matter if you are going to work or not, THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN! Yeah this shit needs to be called out especially if the match airs but we don't need pages and pages and a podcast of shitting on one person. We were all saying last night in party chat how this is turning out to be a good year with all the members we have. But the biggest problem right now is the only comments on shows we get is when someone fucks up. No one has really mentioned the Steve's return, no one is talking about the champion McGee who put in some quality work with Steve this week. Parker got destroyed by 4 rookies at the end of the show, video was nicely done btw. Good written content in general. Cut this short we had 9 pages of content for this super show, I not seen that in years. I am not saying lets let everything be sunshine and rainbows but come on, if everyone is going to rip on Tank at least discuss what you liked about the show. What I will say is what i said in the shout box two weeks ago about the rules need to be RE POLISHED. I honestly don't know them myself as some people like me only do one move on the ground then reset but then you have people that do 3 or multiple pick ups. No one can answer me about this either because every person says something different. If you want me to test people then I need to know the EXACT RULES. I made Bray redo a match because he did three pick up moves to me then someone on xbox did it to me, forgot who and said it as legal now. So Sean and Jay if you guys are around this weekend I need to talk with you and go over the rules and what is allowed and what isn't. Then we need to update this shit. Lastly the FPR Police needs to come back because people can't be trusted and Sean and myself can't do it alone. So I am just going to say their needs to be 4 of us and I am just going to throw names out like people did to me. Sean McGee XB1 Leonheart XB1/PS4 Spiderhoot XB1 B-17 PS4. To people that don't watch Turmoil I can vouch for B-17 as he is around to test people, has decent FPR and can help me when I am not around. There used to be a file complaint thread, that needs to come back so if there is an issue and someone is not happy with the match it can be posted there. New people coming in need to be FPR tested by the names I have just given and once we feel you understand FPR, we will pass you and let the booking team of Riot and Turmoil know. Cept' Leon, he'll just drown you out to ask questions about the Division. That's because you talk over EVERYONE IN PARTY CHAT AND NO FUKKER CAN GET A WORD IN YOU FUCK! 2

Smythe D. Wonder Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Dennis wasn't bad... But he defended the match so he got thrown in the pot... Dylan Graves Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Turmoil is taking a lot of shit because it's full of rookies. I know the show can improve. I know we can all individually improve as well. What bothers me is the lack of mentorship we discussed last week (and again this week). I'm not trying to throw anyone at all under the bus. But, I'm going to be honest about some of my OCW experiences: I've DM'd with vets looking for FPR feedback. All I got was "enough with the fucking running moves"....even though my character and his moveset are designed for springboard offense. That doesn't help me. It's basically just saying "I don't like that." I've asked about the creative process, matches, works, stuff like that...I didn't get much real feedback. Until last week...BOOM we all got on blast publicly for something we didn't know. Guess what, we are asking. No one answered. I've been on Turmoil for damn near 2 months. I still haven't been 1 on 1 with a Vet, on the headset & in the ring...to talk about OCW or FPR. I don't know that I've formally been FPR tested, to be honest. Over 1/2 of my matches, I've had to record vs CPU and turn in that way for one reason or another (servers, schedules, etc). Now, I know that's not ideal, even acceptable, really...but I'm new and trying to prove that I can meet deadlines and be taken seriously. What else am I to do? No one will ever get to say Dylan Graves didn't come through, even if it wasn't great...he was there and met his obligation. When I'm booked against other folks, I can't control whether they show or if their technology works well. I can prevent that clusterfuck from being assigned to my name by turning in the match I was booked to compete in. I've tried helping answer people's simple questions in the chatbox and been called out & gotten my balls busted a bit simply because my name is green. So guys, if we aren't getting to FPR test and DM against vets...it's genuinely hard to work on FPR. I want to get better. Tank does too. He's on here asking for DMs all the time. I roll around with him several times a week, both trying to get better. But, I can't teach him the OCW way. Yeah, Tank has some FPR work to do. But, I don't see anyone trying harder to correct their fault than Tank is. Don't lose faith in Turmoil or the people who are making it happen. We aren't disregarding rules or the OCW way. We don't know them well yet and we don't have many folks on that show to help us learn...we are trying to teach ourselves. Get a ps4 and be part of the solution! 2
