    SUPER S CUP FINALS - ASHLEY MOORE vs. EMP

    Having not originally known how long EMP had been out of serious competition I would have easily picked her. I am still going with her, but Ashley is one of the scariest women in the entire division. There is a reason we still call her the Queen of OCW, at title she so clearly earned. 

     

    That being said I think this match will be super close and at times it will look like each competitor has taken the others best shot. However I have EMP walking out of On Deadly Ground the last PPV/PLE of season 18 as the inaugural Women's Pride Champion.

     

    I think EMP wanted something new to focus on and this in my mind hopefully interjects Heather Angelo back into her life. Whether the title or just revenge is her main goal that is for her to know and for us to find out. 
     

    OCW CHAMPIONSHIP - EL PARCA vs. MAXX EDWARDS

    Maxx Edwards has look quite good in the limited competition he has faced since he returned to OCW. We had last seen him as one half of the tag team champions Maxx Storage. Maxx in his shock return set his eyes directly on El Primero.

     

    El Parca although he clearly did not have a interest in the championship early on, has solidified himself as a formidable champion. Look at what he did to the CCW Champion B17 in their tag match at Riot 618 if you doubt what I am saying. 

     

    I have El Parca wanting it more at On Deadly Ground. El Primero will continue to reign strong and I will even tell you I think he gets Maxx Edwards to tap out from some type of arm based submission during the course of this match. 
     

    CCW CHAMPIONSHIP - B17 vs. AISU

    Aisu has departed from the typical baby face role he has played since I showed up on the scene. Traded in his typical music and colorful attire for silence and darkness. He is a long way from the man Viktor Karmine wanted to face for that North American Championship.

     

    B17 seems damned and determined. I think his interactions with DNS, Doc and others have made him realize that time is something finite. Eventually he will reach a place where the Bingo Bomber does not have the gas in the tank anymore. 

     

    I do not think that day is today however, we saw B17 get the upper hand at the end of the Riot 618 tag match. I think the dead beat dad survives for now, in a match that will run shorter than some of the others on the card. These guys are great competitors and might only take one. 
     

    ALL STAR TAG #2 - KASSCUM vs. PERFECT STORM

    One of these teams is a tag team with history and could very well be the OCW World Tag Team Champions had it not been for the other team. Kasscum (pronounce it anyway you'd like) is a group of two guys with little to no history of working together.

     

    At times the whole enemy of my enemy thing can work, however I do not think it is going to work here. Wrex doesn't want a long match and Kass does not compete as often anymore either. Perfect Storm on the other hand seems to be a well oiled machine when they do compete. Last beating The Lobby at OCW's 19th Anniversary show.

     

    I am confident that Perfect Storm has enough in the tank to outlast two former bitter rivals in a super entertaining match. This is my early pick for MOTN without having seen anything occur.  
     

    INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - OWEN vs. SHELDON TREMBLAY

    This has gotten extremely personal in a way I did not expect at first. Two former friends from the faction of Sanctum. Owen honing in Sheldon's perceived lady Shianne has made even more bad blood between the two. 

     

    Sheldon struggled a bit with Paul Harris during his last outing and that left quite a bit of doubt in my head regarding the International Champion. Will his head be in the right place on Saturday or will he come from a place of emotion and jealousy regarding Shianne? I think the latter will occur leaving the championship and match much in doubt from Sheldon's perspective.

     

    Owen fell just short of dethroning Aries earlier this season for the OCW World Championship. That same title Sheldon won at Wreslution from Rust Cohle a mere eight months ago. Owen wins this match and caps off a pretty incredible season. Owen has a chance to take the title on an Antonio Everett type run.

     

    TAG CHAMPIONSHIPS TLC - MASS EFFECT vs. GRIT & GLORY vs. FUTURE IDIOTS
    Mass Effect/G&G have really had something going for quite a while. I think this has transcended the bounds of normal professional wrestling feuds. With that being said these teams will likely work on imposing their will on one another. But there is another team involved here.

     

    The often confusing nature of the Future Idiots when it comes to who is a face or a heel. I do know Jordan screams pure babyface and John screams fuck head most of the time that cannot decide what he wants to be. I think these guys walk away with their titles and inch closer to that one year mark of being tag team champions. This has been a historic run for these guys so far.

     

    Mass Effect and G&G will continue their feuding after this match. As for the Future Idiots the team they have managed to dodge all this time seems to me to be next. There is a Perfect Storm brewing if you will. 

     

    GRUDGE MATCH - C-NOTE vs. MARK REESE

    C-Note needs a big performance here in my opinion. Coming off of losing his briefcase and failing the cash in opportunity. This is a big match that will point in the direction he needs to go. I will wonder if Claude Hall does find his way to getting involved on C-Notes behalf. 

     

    Mark Reese should shoot right back up to the top of the OCW Title rankings if he can vanquish C-Note in his home town of Toronto. I want to see this rematch between him and El Parca as the two really had C-Note interject which lead to the feud we are seeing currently. 

     

    A lot on the line for both competitors here, but I think Mark Reese who always puts on one of the best matches on the card walks away the victor here. I think that leaves C-Note in a place where he needs redirect his ship and steady it on otherwise choppy waters. 
     

    SINGAPORE KANE MATCH - BLACKSMITH vs. RYU MATSUMOTO

    Horse has beaten so many legends on this torrid Season 18 run he has been on. I don't see that changing. As many have said before, Spider picks weird times to show people he can do stuff. So I can easily see this being a time where he does that.

     

    I have Horse winning this match with repeated Kane shots and putting Trash through a burning table... so he ends up becoming burning trash. This will be a sneaky good match and deliver in ways most won't expect.
     

    WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - JOANNA SILVER vs. SHIANNE LOVELAVE vs. DEBORAH

    D++ is not going to be stopped by either of these women. The best chance they have is beating up each other and hoping to take Deborah out of the equation. Deborah has been an amazing champion since she got her hands on the belt. 

     

    Joanna has always intrigued me when it comes to the championship, and Shianne has a bit more of an underdog story going on here. Joanna was very dominant in the muti woman match at End Games although she came up just short. I can see her being dominant during this match.

     

    In the end it is all about the Women's World Wrestling Champion and how she goes into Season 19 representing the company as the face of the Women's division.

    B17 is gonna shock the world out of sheer spite and determination. If Aisu can’t hit them fins or sigs then it’s ball game maggle. 
     

    ALL STAR TAG #2 - KASSCUM vs. PERFECT STORM

    Perfect Storm makes it look easy. 
     

    INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - OWEN vs. SHELDON TREMBLAY

    One of the best built matches of the season that deserves its flowers. There is only winners coming out of this match. But for the parlay, OWEN gets it done in dominant fashio. 
     

    TAG CHAMPIONSHIPS TLC - MASS EFFECT vs. GRIT & GLORY vs. FUTURE IDIOTS

    GRUDGE MATCH - C-NOTE vs. MARK REESE

    Do or die for both men for varying reasons. Reese needs to remind folks that he’s still that guy and C-Note needs a big win to remind people he is right where he belongs in the upper card. Parlay purposes though, Big Country gets it done. 
     

    SINGAPORE KANE MATCH - BLACKSMITH vs. RYU MATSUMOTO

    If there is any man who defies space, laws, physics, and death. Ryu can be the man who finally defeats the Horse and ends the PPV streak. Bet the house on Trash. 
     

    WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - JOANNA SILVER vs. SHIANNE LOVELAVE vs. DEBORAH

    Note: I refer to stats acquired from Jake's Season 18 Statistics spreadsheet. I noticed with some stats that they were not up-to-date but I'm not going to require more effort from Jake because he already does a lot. No offence is intended by referring to them, I'm just using the most complete form of available stats. 

     

    SUPER S CUP FINALS - ASHLEY MOORE vs. EMP


    EMP was undefeated in her block. Ashley qualified via a triple threat. According to the spreadsheet, Emp had won all of her matches, none of which were on TV, and she's since won three back-to-back all on TV. Ashley, however, has had the bulk of her wins this season on TV. Can we read anything in that? We could, perhaps, say that when the bright lights are brightest, EMP shows out and Ashley statistically performs better this season when she's in her comfort zone on television. There is history here between the two as they were at one point allies but are now no longer. Both women are decorated former Woman's Champions and Ashley has the distinction of holding the title of Queen of OCW. Stylistically I think this is a bad matchup for Ashley because EMP is a character that has shown throughout the season that she finds a way to win, no matter the opponent.

    Prediction: EMP
     

    OCW CHAMPIONSHIP - EL PARCA vs. MAXX EDWARDS

    El Parca has a 76.9% win percentage this season compared to Maxx Edwards' 44%. El Parca has more wins on PPV than Maxx Edwards has had matches on PPV this year. Can we read anything into that? I don't think so. Maxx Edwards has been absent since losing the tag team championships only returning recently and it would be unfair to attempt to forecast what those results could have been because those matches didn't happen. Styles make matchups and both guys are quick and agile. The difference for me is that El Parca always has that submission-based offence that he can rely on if Maxx can turn the tide in his favour. We haven't seen as much proficiency from Maxx in this regard and, while it could be a more equal fight there than I'm giving credit for, I have to give the nod to El Parca based on what we've seen in matches where the stakes were high.


    Prediction: El Parca
     

    CCW CHAMPIONSHIP - B17 vs. AISU

    B-17 has a 58% win percentage compared to Aisu's 44% win percentage. What makes this a more interesting proposition is Aisu's turn. If the match was B-17 vs the old honourable Aisu then I could see B-17's experience in title matches coming into play. Aisu, however, has shown us that he is giving into darker instincts. I anticipate Aisu will be more callous, meticulous and exacting with his offence and will make B-17 submit to preserve himself.


    Prediction: Aisu
     

    ALL STAR TAG #2 - KASSCUM vs. PERFECT STORM


    Perfect Storm have a 66.7% win percentage this season whereas Wrex and Kass are teaming for the first time. Quartz and Kass opposed each other in a tag situation earlier in the season with Quartz partnered by his partner at On Deadly Ground, Harvey Ocean. Kass' partner was the then World Champion, now International Champion, Sheldon Tremblay. This time he's partnered with Wrex who has won the CCW World Championship this season. It's hard for me to predict how this will go. I'm not sure if Kass and Wrex have teamed together in the past or what their chemistry will be like. My gut instinct is to say that Perfect Storm take this one. 

    Prediction: Perfect Storm
     

    TAG CHAMPIONSHIPS TLC - MASS EFFECT vs. GRIT & GLORY vs. FUTURE IDIOTS


    Mass Effect (85%) and Future Idiots (80%) have a significant win percentage advantage over Grit and Glory (50%). What sways me somewhat about the Future Idiots is that four of their wins have been on PPV this season. Mass Effect and Grit and Glory do not have the same experience on PPV which could be a factor. In addition, RyVaughn, Devon and Derek Smith are all big, beefy men. Chance is built. Jordan and John in comparison are smaller guys. That means they will be quicker and more agile than their opponents. This is a TLC match, where I presume the championships will be hung above the ring, I think who can climb the ladder quickest will be decisive especially when three or four out of the challengers will have a significant oxygen drain on their bodies because of all that muscle as the match gets into the later stages.

    Prediction: Future Idiots
     

    GRUDGE MATCH - C-NOTE vs. MARK REESE


    Mark Reese has a 50% win percentage compared to C-Note's 42.9% with four matches under his thick Nebraska belt. An interesting wrinkle in this matchup is that C-Note is batting 50% from 4 matches and Mark Reese is batting 43% from 7 matches on PPV alone. The rivalry has been punctuated by C-Note asserting that Mark Reese isn't in his prime.  I'm not sure if I agree. I think it would be fair to say that his vein of form this season is less consistent than in the year he held Tag Championship gold and parlayed that into an International Championship run but Reese has had some big match-ups this season including fighting Nate Ortiz and B-17 as well as Rust Cohle and El Parca for the World Heavyweight Championship. No shade to C-Note (or his PPV opponents thus far) but his opponents for the most part on PPV have not been names of the calibre that Mark Reese has faced. As a fan I would like to see Mark Reese win but I think C-Note's speed and agility will have Reese in trouble.

    Prediction: C-Note
     

    SINGAPORE KANE MATCH - BLACKSMITH vs. RYU MATSUMOTO


    The Last Blacksmith has one of the best records this season with more than half of his wins coming on PPV against figures like Inness Quartz, Rust Cohle and Kassidy Hayes. It would be a mistake to look this gift horse in the mouth. Spider has only competed once this season. That makes this matchup from a statistics perspective difficult to interpret. Putting the statistics to one side, one has to believe that Spider is desperate to frustrate Horse's desire to complete the goal of conquering each former member of TTT and Horse is equally desperate to achieve his goal. I think Spider will bring his A-game but Horse is in a rich vein of form and I think he wins this one for that reason.

    WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - JOANNA SILVER vs. SHIANNE LOVELACE vs. DEBORAH


    Deborah has a 61.5% win percentage this season with half of her wins this coming on PPV with only two losses on PPV and none for the Championship. Joanna Silver up until Ambition: End Game was undefeated this season. Shianne has a comparable win percentage to Deborah at 60% with only one loss on PPV this season. Going into On Deadly Ground, we have two big, intimidating powerhouses and a small scrappy underdog that in my humble opinion must fight with everything she has, from underneath, to come out on top.  I think Deborah's championship experience proves a significant boon over her challengers and she retains.

    GRUDGE MATCH - JynX vs. Scotty X.


    Scotty X has a 75% win percentage from 8 matches this season whereas JynX has a 67% win percentage from 12 matches. This is Scotty X's first appearance on PPV this season and JynX's first on a non-Ambition PPV this season. Scotty X has a diverse moveset which uses high-flying, risky manoeuvres whereas JynX is more solid on his feet with big power moves. I think the match will be close but I have JynX edging it.

    Emp, I mean the whole point of this tournament was for her. In the hype video she is shown to be the puppet master. 
     

    OCW CHAMPIONSHIP - EL PARCA vs. MAXX EDWARDS

    El Parca, the man never has a boring reign. He always brings new people into the title picture which I respect and I think considering Maxx has only had a few matches since returning and Parca has been here wrestling that whole time he will get the best of Maxx.
     

    CCW CHAMPIONSHIP - B17 vs. AISU

    Aisu, I’m going with an upset here. It’s nice to see a change in character for Aisu. He will be the underdog this match as he’s going against B17 but I think this change in attitude will help him win the match.
     

    ALL STAR TAG #2 - KASSCUM vs. PERFECT STORM

    Perfect Storm, they have been absolutely running through the tag division and I believe they will continue to do so. If the tag division was smaller as it’s been in the past they’d absolutely already be champions. They had a small set back though against The Believers ever since they they have been extremely motivated to get that tag title match and defeating Kasscum will bring them one step closer to that goal.
     

    INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - OWEN vs. SHELDON TREMBLAY

    Owen, this feud has been a long one both men have a lot of history with one another. But I think Owen is the more motivated man here. They both have has massive singles success since Sanctum but Sheldon has been the bigger star. This match is Owens chance to prove he is just as good as his former ally. 
     

    TAG CHAMPIONSHIPS TLC - MASS EFFECT vs. GRIT & GLORY vs. FUTURE IDIOTS

    GRUDGE MATCH - C-NOTE vs. MARK REESE

    Mark Reese, CNote is hot right now but I just want Reese to finish his story so I hope he gets the win here. How many more setbacks can this man go through. Parca v Reese again main event of Lution for the title is something I’m hoping happens despite the fact they faced recently. 
     

    SINGAPORE KANE MATCH - BLACKSMITH vs. RYU MATSUMOTO

    Ryu, this man always surprises me. You’d think he’s one of those legends who was good 7 years ago but isn’t anymore. But he always manages to hold his own in there. I remember facing him in 22 thinking it’s an easy W but he made me work for that win. He may not play the game much but neither does Blacksmith. Despite that though Blacksmith is on a crazy PPV run. Both men are way better than you’d expect but I think Ryu comes out on top.
     

    WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - JOANNA SILVER vs. SHIANNE LOVELAVE vs. DEBORAH

    Deborah, she’s on a dominate run and I really see the other two women more as midcarders who should be fighting for the Pride Championship. Would’ve preferred to see Joanna in the Scup and Blaine or Furi fighting for the championship right now. Has been an entertaining story though but I believe this is just a stepping stone for Deborah on her way to Lution.
     

    GRUDGE MATCH - JynX vs. Scotty X.

    JynX is going to do it for DNS. Loser should have to lose the X in their name would’ve been more entertaining. Was surprised to see it on ppv tbh I enjoyed JynX v Harris way more but I’m happy to see both men getting an opportunity on ppv and I hope they do well.
