Valk has plot armor so likely very little. You however are like OCW's Sam Rockwell from Galaxy Quest. You are a redshirt who lived long enough to be upgraded to series regular.
-
When I was first getting into OCW I was told that the meta was basically to be unpredictable, mix up your timing, make it harder to reverse. Seems like attacking mid animation would be that concept honestly.
-
Yes, I'd take you to hoot court for running your yap, I'd make sure you were forced to represent yourself as your own legal council, and you would lose with the verdict being that Jay gets to fart on your pillow bare assed so you get pink eye.
-
How else are we supposed to try to keep up with Mugen with extremely unsafe spots in matches? Gotta let me springboard onto people mid standing animation goddamnit.
-
I appreciate it fellas, credit goes to Doc though, he's a total monster already, reminds me of Drago in some ways with the impact he and his bro are making since joining up. I was even heeling out and using some cheese on him in the match and he still overcame. There's a good reason he's got the World title.

I used the same copy for both parts of the match and they were both directly from your link, it just seemed to think that the first part was a remix version which it wasn't, not sure why it flagged it as that though.
-
I was originally trying to upload it to Youtube to try to reduce the filesize when I first rendered it and it was flagging the song as some remix version too if I recall which was sorta odd. I wonder if that has to do with when it gets blocked.

Everything I know about crappling and moonwalking I learned from vets in my first 3-4 years in OCW. That's why I'm so damned good at both of them, personally. Jokes aside, I find that the moveset full of duck under dickcheese is as obnoxious as moonwalking and really should be discussed on a larger scale because they effectively do the same thing, they rob someone who had the drop of their opportunity. A few years ago the meta was quick strikes and stuff like, what was it called, the knee shiver or something? Now it's just filling your moveset with as many duck unders that clear 10 feet of the ring to your opponent while somehow making the opponents inputs invalid.

ThirstCAST Episode 3: Dark Days, Brighter Tomorrow's
Bobby Minio replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in OCW The Magazine
The feuds discussion was the most interesting on here. It's tough because, at least a lot of the people I tend to interact with, are not big fans of spoilers, so it can be hard to coordinate things at the level you'd suggest during the discussion. I've had JAY screech at me for spoiling stuff to him over the years, for example. I think OCW both benefits and suffers from it's hybrid status in the sense that, we are limited in some ways by the competitive aspect because it can have a big impact on your storyline development. Personally, I feel I've proven that there are ways to work around losing matches and I've managed to build heat during losing streaks but it's tough and the manner in which you lose a match can be more damaging than the outcome itself. There's plenty of characters I'd introduce or storylines I'd love to explore but I simply can't do that because I can't back it up reliably in the ring. There are feud trajectories I'd like to explore but that can be compromised by the in-ring aspect too. For the last few years I've mostly let feuds develop naturally, I think most of the people I've worked with can confirm that. Most of the time I just get booked with someone, we have a fun build leading up to the match and then we decide to run it for a few weeks or months, and then I just have certain storyline beats for my character that I plan on hitting over the course of a few months that I work into it. I find it a lot more difficult to plot things out long term with other people because there are so many moving parts and I personally don't enjoy being at the mercy of other people's whims for my storylines. These things change, people get new ideas or change directions and relying on other feuds for your own trajectory can be a recipe for disappointment. I don't know that my "organic" style of finding feuds is better or worse than other styles but it's really what has worked best for me and my writing style and my approach. -
The Final Word Ep #4: Certified Greatness
Bobby Minio replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in OCW The Magazine
That fucking SUUUUUCCCKKKSSS so bad -
Just speaking as a fellow member of the roster, I'd much rather someone speak up after a match and say "Yo that was a bit sketchy, could we run that back?" while we're on and doing it than just green light it and then have half the roster drag me in the viewing party, the discord and the feedback thread for a week afterwards.
-
People take commentary for granted without thinking much of what goes into it. With WWE, you have direct input from creative and from Vince while you're working. That would be like the commentary team for OCW having the people involved in the match feeding them factoids via discord throughout the match. Even outside of WWE or even in traditional sports, the commentary team talks with the talent or the players in the days leading up to the event, so they get fed a lot of lines and content to throw in during the broadcast. Maybe we should get some sort of blind submission forum leading up to a match where we can offer some tidbits or angles we'd like to see commentary get over during the matches?

Long live Spider

I'm a Spider fan. How can you not be a Spider fan? He did the impossible, he gave Kassidy Hayes a personality.

Finally someone with a little star power showed up.

I'm a white meat baby face for the first time in my career. I've been a raucous upstart, a revolutionary, an underdog, an under performer, a disrespectful face, a disrespectful tweener, a disrespectful heel, a reluctant heel, a volcano, a drug addict, a party boi, a ringo, a handbook author... how the fuck have I not evolved over the years?
-
I come up short in my opportunities and I own that, but the difference between you and I is that I was offered them because people knew it would be fucking money and you get them because they feel obligated to throw you a pity bone for doing so much Charlie work.
