  1. - Cobra called KD a monkey...... bruh, it's black history month. Dat's fucked up! - Jookie just went heel mode I'm pretty sure. How are you gonna peer pressure someone to smoke a joint?! Needed to take some of the edge off your nerves contemplating that ass beating you're gonna catch later in the show I guess xD. Good RP man. - Honestly, I think the entrance looks better on KD. I can see it as a pirate entrance, but I think it fits KD's gimmick better (though there's really no pirate esq entrance besides it). Doesn't necessarily excuse the thievery, but if you want respect you gotta give it, so if you #Don'tCare I don't see why KD should care. - " I have a #Dream…. That one day this great company will over come its diversity" Taken out of context, this may be the most racist thing I've ever heard! I was cracking up/a little sad that you corrected what you meant right after. - They took out the gate keeper there... That's either a really strong move to attack this veteran mentality they claim to be striking against, or it's a really good way to have your new faction broken up by force cause KD's going to want blood. - Don't listen to Poling, Rhyme Tyme is much better than Air Shanghai. - Anyone who makes a $350 sandwich is a bad person (unless it's just a massive sandwich feeding a lot of people). The RP was hilarious, definitely my favorite of the night. - Nathan ROLFStomped all over YSL. You may want to hold back a little on how many moves you hit before someone gets up. We used to have a rule about it, but I believe the rule was abolished, but it's still kind of a courtesy thing. Then again, he can reverse them so it's not a huge deal. - I just want to watch Sean break everybody's arms until he's the only one left even able to hold the title up (except mine, I use that thing you crazy bastard)! - Drago's going to be a god damn problem kicking out of all these finishers. Mugen may have dropped the title to a machine. Specially cause I can't even tell if he's used resiliency for it. That was a great match, good way to end Riot. Or, it was, then Mugen put a cherry on top by punking the owner. Probably got his dream way to go out there.
  2. I was a little salty, but it's not a big deal. Next time it's done to me though I'm smacking someone's bitch ass with a sledgehammer!!!!! Also, had I been smart and asked to record our match, that would have been Crowe's theme :D
  3. They originally described it as making the head of a wolf, so I'm pretty sure it's the NWO Wolfpack sign, but I could be wrong.
  4. Oh, O.K. thank you. I actually wasn't sure for a moment if I was being complimented or criticized xD.
  5. Clarification, you saying readable like it reads well and you enjoy it, or readable like you can predict everything and you don't like that? I wasn't quite sure what you meant.
  6. But in a way that's comparing apples and oranges. Unless I'm misunderstanding it, you're basically saying I liked The Monster character until I realized who the writer was. And I'm saying, I don't really like this story you're writing.
  7. I still have Riot 420 content to write, so I'm going to keep my notes shorter this week: - Congrats to Cobra on winning a title, but you won a title you just kind of shat on in your RP. KD, who at the time was still champion, is just a pillar to get to Xander? Personal vendetta or not, especially knowing you just won the belt, you ought to avoid devaluing it. - I like the Ragnarok development as a creative group. I think it'll be effective for them O.O.C. wise. I think the group probably, rightfully so, draws some comparison to the Ambition 5, and I think working together so closely will help them to form the foundation of what will probably end up being known as their era. As far as this story they're in currently, I feel like it's going to be Cobra vs them all because I'm not sure there's anyone that's going to fight with/for him. Suda surely wouldn't give a shit. Maybe Austin Lee? Maybe he doesn't think their group fits his definition of #SportsEntertainment and he needs to destroy them? I don't know. Hopefully they find some place to take this that isn't so one sided. Also I don't necessarily understand the logic for Hayes. A couple of pages back in this thread you make it sound like you're going to dial back on Riot to focus on representing as Turmoil champion. If you're going to do that, I don't see why you'd join a group that is otherwise Riot only. - We have such a mess with the world title right now that Ryu's speech is intruiging. I don't think he'd write it if he didn't have something coming from it, so I'm interested to see where it goes. - As Kent pointed out, we're like 4 or 5 months or so into this season and Jook is still here, and still putting out good content. It's nice to see Jook. - I was thoroughly disappointed by Parker this week. I thought he came out and sounded like Smythe when he says it's all about the money. Does it fit where his character is at this point in his career? Maybe, probably even, but that doesn't make it entertaining or necessary. You said a few times "wait till Riot", well, I did, and I'm just disappointed really. - Trance is pretty much dead. It's like someone has filled his body with very slow acting poison. We're just watching him fall apart. - That armbreaker looked nasty, the editing was awesome. Reminded me of when the SVR series had the cool finisher camera effects. - Mugen and Jay are great together. It's all so sophomoric, almost kindergarten level shit really. But that makes it more entertaining cause it's not what we see most of the time. - So uh.... no one else is going to mention that special interest group specifically against Caucasians. Like, not for promoting African Americans and Asians (actually the group didn't specifically mention Asians at all), just for promoting the destruction of white people. But if you want to take down the white people you're gonna have to get through one in particular: He-Man, cause he's gonna be REEEEEAL pissed at you all this week. - Last note: Thanks for formatting Scaggs and Poling into my RP like that Jay, I wasn't expecting you to do that but it made it look a lot better. I'll try not to use them very often. Pretty good show everyone.
  8. Parker out talking like Smythe. We already have a Smythe dude..... actually we have two Smythes cause he writes for he and Arnaud.
  9. Right, but it puts the longterm plans Sean and I had in flux. I can't really turn The Monster face, and we had a good number of plans laid out. I may have to choose between keeping The Monster or having to bring back Cody Storm (which in my head is a long term thing that'll happen eventually, but I had no plans for in the near future) in order to go face with Sean. So I'm very selfishly hoping that, that isn't the case. That this gets spun in some way to keep the heat on Sean. But you're right, from a numbers standpoint, it's probably helpful.
  10. Again, I don't think the storyline itself was inherently bad. The two problems that I have with it are: 1. Sean wanted to be THE HEEL. He's been building himself up as a bad guy and that's how he would like to be portrayed. Maybe he'll end up embracing a tweener role. I'm not sure, but that's not the relevant point. It should have been his decision to make and you effectively took it away from him. 2. As far as The Monster's involvement, or technical lack-thereof, is concerned: what I said when I was pitched the idea by Sean was, "I don't hate the storyline in general, but I don't want my character being utilized like that." If what came back to you was "Cody said don't use his CAW" then clearly the message wasn't translated very well. But the reason you should still catch heat for it (though Pugh should too) is because as the person putting it together it is (or at least I thought it was) your responsibility to communicate with the people who's character's/likenesses you want to use. And I think you could even argue against me by saying Parker wouldn't ask The Monster if he could put on a mask and disguise himself as The Monster to get close to the match, that'd be stupid. And storyline wise that's a perfectly good point. But from a production standpoint, we were pitched an idea, we vetoed it, and you two more or less did it anyway. And if you don't see that as a problem, or you don't care that it is a problem, then you're counterproductive and toxic to any sort of teamwork the angle had going for it, and potentially to OCW on a larger scale.
  11. Raze has been on Parker and Pugh's jock for years now. Probably seems like the quickest path to that title
  12. *Checks the first champion on the front page* .......And I thought the Black people here had it tough.
  13. Well, at least this PPV will go down in history I suppose: - I'm pretty sure Jay wrote that Smythe RP. The way he stressed "it's great!" seems like a Jay technique, it was hilarious. I for one am glad to see Leonheart back. I don't think it needed any delayed gratification as far as LKO'ing Smythe right away goes. Smythe's got a big ol' mouth, you could LKO him like 20x and I'm pretty sure he'd still get up and keep talking. So it's not like this can't still lead to a match. Good to see Smythe humbled. Interesting to see his posse missing as well. - Austin Lee's a great writer I think. I like the hashtag gimmick because I think it's that catchy kind of annoying. Specially if you know anyone who actually says "hashtag awwww" or shit like that (I have a lot of sisters....). Makes you want to smack him. - With this tag match I think we may have officially found the four WORST players when it comes to getting on the apron xD. It was a match within a match really, and 2K clearly won. I'd say that's a pretty big win for Cobra to pick up. I'll be honest, I hate the twist of fate. I don't know why really, but I do. I think it has something to do with Jeff Hardy always hitting it before the Swanton, so it didn't seem like the ToF mattered all that much on its own. But when you nail someone with it three or four times it still knocks them the fuck out apparently, and that's what really matters. - I assume that beatdown was done because Carter and Suda couldn't hook up to get their match done. I think, if that was indeed the case, that they made lemonade out of that. The writing from the two of them and Jay was very good, and did at least enough to not leave me too disappointed that we didn't get to see that match. Plus I want to see a Suda vs Nathan without anyone having to sell an injury or be scared to win, because if Nathan somehow wrecked Suda after getting destroyed by Cobra it'd make Suda look AWFUL. - Intense Jook is kind of scary. The intro to the hardcore match was great, kind of figured that's why you were building up the bat all month. This one was MOTN for me, even though it was clearly a redo (Jook let KD up after the JKO). Aside from KD's inability to throw Jookie softly into the announce table, the match flowed really well and was a lot of fun to watch. One of the few matches recently that I haven't gotten an itch to skip around on. - The rap battle was everything I wanted to read and more because I only had hopes that it'd lead to a match. I will forever refer to YSL as The Great Yellow Hope......... - Well, I predicted this savior would be DeJesus DeJones, and that's already been shot down so now I'm just disappointed. - I think there are pro's and con's to the outcome of the Kassidy-Jackson match. I think Kassidy is probably the best on the sticks over there on Turmoil (I guess with this win it's less of an opinion and more of a fact now...?). But I don't love the title being on someone who's also a Riot regular. What happens if he gets beat by Riot only guys on some regular basis, then the Turmoil title gets totally devalued. Not that I necessarily think that will happen, but it's a possibility. But I know I'm overthinking it, so enjoy your win Kass, good job. - I think the Mugen/Drago match is a great example of why I shouldn't read the thread for shows before I watch the whole thing. The match was very good, but it got a little overhyped in here. Not saying it wasn't a good match, it was awesome, but I was expecting some crazy finish or something with the way people were talking about it. I think Drago leaned a little heavy on that dropkick to keep Mugen at bay. I don't really blame him though, I catch myself doing the same with my elbow attack sometimes. I'm very glad to see a true face grab a title and also to see Mugen come down firmly on a side of the heel-face spectrum (though I think last Riot pretty much did that already). The post match RP was awesome. Also that phone conversation RP was hilarious. - I don't want to say too much about the ME, I'm already having 2014 PTSD as it is really. But I want to explain why I didn't want to do the idea, because I don't think the idea itself was bad. This PPV for my character was about establishing who it is behind the mask, so when Sean told me the idea he had been pitched I said I'd rather not do it because I didn't want someone else wearing my mask while I was working on The Monster's identity. I think it's extremely disrespectful to go and do it anyway after both Sean and I asked that it not be done. Additionally, I generally dislike World titles changing hands through storyline. All-in-all an excellent PPV.
  14. I think you meant #BlackOpinionsDon'tMatter Cause when you pitched the idea to Sean he shot it down and you did it anyway. Why's that Ok? I assume it got on the show cause Jay didn't know that's what happened, but now that it's there what happens with it?
  15. I didn't mind the Crowe segment. I didn't love it. It was well written, but I kind of lean towards the view that Drago proposed back a few pages, it seems a little overkill at this point. Crowe's beat the shit out of Trance three times now. Feels like Trance is just getting absolutely squashed.
  16. I'd say Lee's motives are different this cookie cutter. Really that line is the first time I've ever felt like he was in that mold, it was just a good line to use to set up my thought process for this point.
  17. So I don't know about anyone else, but I'm very happy Mugen crushed Johnny Law. Not because I have any negative feelings towards Law, but because I feel like by planting his foot down on Law's skull, Mugen planted his foot down on the heel side of our wrestling spectrum. I definitely like the decisiveness. That being said, fuck you Mugen. That's such a shitty thing to do! Also, I'd like to bring something up for general discussion and I'm going to highlight a portion of Austin's RP to do it (though Austin please don't feel like I'm being critical of you specifically, because that's not my intention at all): " I want you to think about what we could do together as a team. The carnage, the anarchy, the absolute destruction, the chaos. " This is what he said to Morrison about joining forces. And I read it and it just really, really annoyed me. I feel like you could put that exact sentence in Ragnarok's mouths, in The Monster's, and in several other rookie's. I think several of us have built characters, but haven't necessarily nuanced them very successfully. This is bugging me a whole lot because like I said, I think I'm DEFINITELY a culprit. Just wondering what others may think about it?
  18. Now, now. Give credit where credit is due, the table once again screwed Jook (specially cause I'm pretty sure he was reaching for the bat at the end there). In fact, I think it'd be most beneficial to Jook to lose this weekend, put a good match on the show, but stay as far away as POSSIBLE from these evil weapons that are only trying to tank your career.
  19. See, that's how forgettable his part was: you called Xander Nathan. I don't think the RP was bad as a whole, and I understand the opening match limitation. I didn't mean you two as a group needed to do two RP's, I mean if Xander wanted to RP about the PPV, it would have fit better on its own I think. I got to this part: "Austin: That's what I thought...*pausing as he just figured out what Rane said.*#What the hell did you just say. Xander: Wtf? More like #dtf! Cause that's all it's gonna take for the end of Matsuda's Ex-division #titlerane! And don't even get me started on cobra and Kassidy, Cause after the clash this Sunday, the two of them? #donezo" And felt like Xander's brain just went totally off track. It didn't flow to me. I think, specially since Nathan didn't have an RP, those two would have been better off if Xander wrote a totally separate RP for later in the show.
  20. If people have suggestions or tips for a better mask/facepaint style (one that works with the long hair, because that's mainly what's been limiting me. Most of them won't allow you to have long hair) I'm all ears. But if you don't like how he looks because he has a mask in general, that's falling on deaf ears from this point forward because it's important to The Monster. I've got a few quick thoughts as well, since the discussion has been a little flat (probably because of the RR last night), I'll post a few times instead of one larger one. That opener was gross. I like not having to be PG, hell, we don't even really have to conform to realism all that strictly because we're writing and dealing with fiction. I was thinking the whole time I was reading the ending to it "I wonder if Angle just walked out of our arena enraged?" Xander's part in the next RP was strange to me. It looked to be a match building segment, but then he used it to build his PPV match and it sounded out of place. It would have been better if you had done two RP's I think. Nothing from Suda/Nathan. That's disappointing. I apologize to Drago because I don't feel like I accurately portrayed him in the show ending RP, I wasn't aware he and Mugen were going to have such an intense interaction earlier in the show and I don't think the way I wrote it made a ton of sense continuity wise.
  21. I tried to tell him something was wrong, but I was just met with violent threats....
  22. I hate it, it's all wrong. Please try again.
  23. Yeah, I know. I've seen that pattern, I just thought his leaving the family was a sign of progress. On one hand I commend the character continuity and hope he finds what he's looking for, on the other end I'm sitting here looking at my screen screaming "You're a strong, independent, vampire who don't need no man!"
  24. Sorry, I'm slacking a bit, I just finished Riot a few hours ago. The writing was very good for another week. I was digging the MTV-like YSL interview. You know he paid that man himself though.... he definitely did. Buddy's diss tape was like 1000000x better, just saying. He actually studied and crafted, YSL just threw money at people and told them to love it. The Sensation/Nathan Carter was great. Not that Suda needs to go over any more than he already has, but I thought Sensation mulling over firing Carter before ultimately deciding that the harsher punishment would be to give him what he wanted built up the match very well. The brash newcomer coming at 'Suda's throat..... I feel like I've seen this story somewhere before. Good luck to you Carter. It's good to see another feud starting, kudos to Lee and Golden. I hope Austin can draw something out of Golden, cause he did not look too hot against Crowe this week. Speaking of Crowe, I'm a little surprised, given some of the things that have been said in threads and chats about Smythe and how he paired two of his characters together and how people didn't like that, that no one said anything about this new alliance between Crowe and Crossbones. I don't like it very much. I was more excited to watch Crowe go it alone for a little while. The way he went from from one group to another in two weeks or so made me feel like I was watching a more mature version of some after school special about a poor misfit going from social group to social group trying to find out where he fits in. It seems like every week we're getting someone from Turmoil on Riot (and possibly vice versa, though I will admit I don't pay nearly enough attention to Turmoil) saying how Riot isn't as good, or Turmoils on the rise, or what have you. Seeing as how ~90% of us have one console or the other it doesn't really progress anything to write these kinds of RP's, especially with how frequently they've been happening. I'm looking forward to The Clash (which we may as well just call Extreme Rules this year, because we've inadvertently made about 1/3 of the card some version of a NODQ match), lets packc the Go-Home Riot just as full so we don't lose steam.
