  1. In order to actually take advantage of the higher speed/agility caps they pretty much do have to be weaker, or they'd be over the max overall. These stats are a give and take, we still have a max overall. It's not like we're all putting all of our stats up to their respective caps. I feel like a lot is being made out of nothing.
  2. I'm not sure if it makes me racist or not, but I think I like the K.K.K. stable name. I think it's edgy without being offensive. But I'm white, so what do I know.... Drago's RP with the gator was hilarious. You would think Law would stop doubting Drago by now. I like the return to Kid Ego, but that was always my favorite version of Paul Pugh. I miss the theme song very much (speaking of which, was the one you used here Manchester Orchestra? Sounded like Andy Hull to me). I feel like this show missed Carter a bit. I know we got segments with him in them, and they were pretty good segments, but he's always good for a few quips. As far as his partner goes, I feel like he's turned a corner a little bit with this show. I know I was critical about how he seemed to linger as a tweener, and not the Stone Cold/CM Punk/Orton tweener who does what they want and tells everyone to fuck off, but someone who was a bad guy, but wanted the world to love him. This delusion reads much better to me. "Matsuda: This match won’t be like the others. I’m going to hurt you Sean. No kick pads. No knee pads. I want you to feel my shin bones tearing through your knee tendons. My knees rupturing your patella. Not out of some sort of loyalty to my faction mate--no. I’m going to do it because I don’t like you. And because I can." - Fucking Ow! Made me cringe. Drago vs Nati was good, Drago's someone else who needs to lower his reversals some. Dat dis-track doe...... I loved that RP because I can hear Spider actually saying these things in my head and it cracked me up. I for one am very happy to see Austin Lee back. I think I'm even more happy that he's back at a time when this type of gimmick isn't on the show more than once. During his first run with it that rookie that everyone loved (and I'm not trying to be a jerk, I legitimately can't remember his name right now), the one that was involved in C-4 vs OMG, had a similar gimmick. Feels fresher now. I didn't watch anything but the last five minutes or so of the tag match because of the quality (thanks for the disclaimer, or I likely would have skipped it entirely), but it looks like it descended into straight chaos. I think we all knew Jookie was about to get dropped. Figured it would have been done during the match though so as to give Ragnarok the W. I thought McGee vs Suda was a great match, though it felt like they were dancing around the finish a little bit. The bit with the brass knucks was awesome. Glad 2K made some of these moves look a little more organic than they used to look. Mugen vs Trance was also a very good match, despite needing to be cleaned up rules wise. It's all cleared up now, and it was at least a good watch. This Crowe is probably my favorite version of Crowe. When you compare him to Parker and Crossbones I've always felt that he fell a little flat as a character, so I'm excited to watch him with some mic time moving forward.
  3. Very much enjoy the write ups for each match. Also, I predict KD turns and demolishes Jook and Ragnarok takes the win
  4. Ok, I can live with that. Probably the best explanation you could have given for it.
  5. That Sean RP was a huge step up in his written game I think. Which is great, since you probably need that to be a M.E. player. Nathan's first RP was probably my favorite RP of the night. As was mentioned earlier he had a number of one liners that were pretty great. I think my personal favorite was: " But you, Matsuda, I have had the biggest crush on you for quite sometime." He stated his intention to eventually challenge Matsuda but did it in one of the creepiest ways imaginable. Things that make you go Ick. I was hoping Buddy was going to pull that comeback off on Jook, he pretty much did I guess since Jook was out for like a 10 count. It was a pretty fun match to watch. Oh, I did think Nathan probably had RP of the night, but that hipster segment with Buddy Burns was fantastic. "Buddy: What about you....do you have a walkman? Boombox, something to play this damn thing." I can't tell you the last time I saw a boombox. I think I had one when I was like 6. The Rane/Hayes match was pretty good, but Rane got super aggressive. I know we have that pin on other moves post-finisher rule so that matches don't drag, but that doesn't mean pin after every move. A few pins attempts makes a match look good/distinguishes your power moves, but that many pins makes you look a little try-hard I think. So, uh, what's up with this line? "Trance: Jumping through hoops... Nay, not for the God King, all true immortals are tested..." So are you not a true immortal or are you going to jump through hoops? Cause it read contradictory to me. Good to see a feud brewing between Ragnarok and Hayes/Cobra. It's also good to see a face get some backup once in a while. When a heel gets jumped he always has backup standing by somewhere. But when a face gets jumped in WWE it's like all of his friends aren't right backstage watching it happen 75% of the time. Pugh's probably taking on a challenge he doesn't have to since Sean's FI has been tampered with. Fighting champion, that's an admirable trait. Hope it doesn't come back to bite you...... I saw Tre talking in the shout box about not really loving being a face, but I'd suggest you stick with it. I think there's more room for faces on the roster currently. That and to change so quickly after debuting would be odd I think. Cross Bones looked like he was ready to win that match, but the wakeup taunt kind of goofed up on him. So he goofed up on it in return, fair play. But uh, you really had to milk a cat?! Mugen successfully defends his title by count out. K.D.'s gotta play that one smarter and get into the ring and reset the count to avoid putting himself in that situation. I can't imagine this one's over permanently. But maybe it's being pushed for now to make room for this Drago-Mugen challenge that seems to be brewing? I thought this was one of our better Riots. The written content was really good, which is awesome because the writing should carry the Riots and the wrestling the PPV's I think.
  6. First, I appreciate the kind words Mr. Sensation, and I understand the criticisms. I think that since I'm not playing yet, I've been writing this more like a fiction story (which OCW is fiction) and less like an efed story. However, I don't apologize for that because I've been having a lot of fun writing it. I will try and cut it back some (though not this upcoming week). On the subject of my writing vs in ring skills, I'm pretty confident in my in ring despite not playing very much. Hopefully it'll match up, but either way I'd rather be confident in myself now and be wrong, than come into this assuming I'm going to suck. Lastly, Trance, please if you're going to critique my stuff or you want to talk to me about something I've written that's on a show that hasn't been pushed out yet, please talk to me privately. I don't think you meant anything by it, but I was a little peeved that you spoiled some of my stuff on the shoutbox prior to Riot's posting.
  7. Much appreciated sir.
  8. I didn't realize that Matsuda was a part of C-4. Now that I know, I'm terrified. These guys hold all the gold. That's like every factions wet dream. You can be faces all you want, I'll still hate you simply for that! But seriously, nice job. #LongLiveTheNewKing Bedlam is creepy. Like on a scale of one to ten he's at least a 7, which is pretty high considering he hasn't said a word so far. I like Xander and Nathan together. I don't love how Xander seems a little torn between being a babyface and this heel turn. I figured after the RP you dropped in the backstage thread that it'd be a remorseful turn kind of thing. Like Nathan's footing the bill for your mother in return for your "services" (with Carter that could really be anything). That being said, I do like the two of you as a team. I think the young wolves gimmick is kind of cliche, but I like it nonetheless. I like it because it's believable. I believe that even out of character you two want to take down some vets and win some titles. So it's a good gimmick even if it's a little dated. It would appear Trance has quite a gauntlet to get through to get his rematch. He'll definitely deserve it if he makes it past all three of those guys. I don't know much of anything about Drago, except that he was a former NA champion that beat Mugen, but I do know I'll always have scissors in my back pocket now. The net ain't got shit on me. Mercer's RP had me laughing a bit because: 1. This is Riot 414 and you didn't have a match. 2. If you did, I don't think it'd be against Raze given the guy's unfortunate circumstances. I can dig the intensity of Tyson Carter, but I think the RP itself came off a little generic. Mostly because it doesn't seem Mr. Sensation was actually involved in writing it, yet, presumably, his character was who you were talking to. I hope that was just the intro of Y.S.L.'s dis track, or it will officially be known as the worst dis track of all time. The ending was fantastic. A great first time for the breakout usage (I personally hope this mechanic gets used a lot, because it's not like the cut scenes in the older WWE games, it shouldn't get all that repetitive)! I've never seen or heard of an F.I. type device being used like that. You have to wonder how that happened. Maybe Buffness just lost the paperwork on a plane or something? Great angle. The only thing I'd say negative about it is if you're going to bother to place someone's head inside a briefcase, you gotta curb stomp that shit! RUTHLESS AGGRESSION! Quick S/N: The M.E. angle kind of points out something that I think probably sets OCW apart: people seem to be willing to set aside their egos to put over others. Marley did it at DN for Carter and Rane and Pugh, straight off a World Championship win, is willing to do it. Good stuff.
  9. Hoboken University Med. Center maybe?
  10. Ya know, I could put you both out of your misery if you would like. All you have to do is ask.
  11. Move of the Night is hands down Nathan Carter leg-dropping Jookie throat first onto that table standing on its side. He's going to need some surgery.
  12. I love Buddy Burns' look and his moveset, it just looks like fun to play with. Sometimes I envy the lightweights cause their matches are so much flashier. I'm thinking the best way to avoid KD may just be to put yourself in the garden. I mean, would he look there if you dug yourself a grave and filled it? I imagine he's got so many bodies laying around down there that an extra grave wouldn't even give him pause. He'd just think he did it himself and forgot. The Illuminati/Matsuda angle is interesting. I almost feel like I'm watching a season of Suits, but without all the white people. There's not a single Asian in that show I don't think; racists... I really like Rane's look and his theme, but that moveset sets me to cringing. I'd tone it down some myself. In the first three minutes of the match you hit the Saving Grace and the Ki Krusher each twice. Those are moves I'd expect to see once a match, and most likely (more so with the Ki Krusher) as at least a sig. I think you could put a fun character together if you could nail that pacing aspect. It looks like Carter's about to be upstaged on this PPV. I was interested in Carter vs Jookie, but after all the talk and mentions of Jookie's run ins with inanimate objects, Carter's taking a backseat. Sorry man. Poor ref. Trance didn't actually bring the title out to the ring with him, so the poor ref had to run all the way back to his locker room to grab it. Long Live the (New?) King. Should be an entertaining PPV M.E.
  13. Or celebrate. Cause I don't know about any other rookies, but I'm not really lookin' to catch a Pedigree.....
  14. I was afraid at least one of you was going to answer photoshop. Not something I have at the moment. But I assume attires in general is something that I'll get better at with practice. As it is I'm not too terrible coming up with ideas for them, but my execution leaves a little (a lot) to be desired. Still have some time though, The Monster's not here yet.
  15. That was a great match. I agree, I don't think it would have been bad taste to have ended the match at the 18 minute mark. To me it looked like Mugen took everything he could and got hit a time too many. I understand it was a move hit a few times already, but not every kick is a knock out kick. Either way, it was a good watch. I know BUFFNESS is strong, but he really threw a man through a wall? Damn! If either Matsuda or Illuminati see this, I'd like to know how you all do your attires. Do you do that all in game or do you make it a different way and import? They're extremely impressive. Also that entire Illuminati entrance is scary as hell.
  16. I know we had a democratic vote here, but you all don't think the two world titles being so similar is a problem? Even just visually?
  17. Was it the Dresden Files? 'Cause I totally stole it from Harry
  18. I think the devils night card was a pretty good clue as to how this tourney was going. Also, his real names going to be revealed sooner rather than later. Shoulsnt be more than a week or so. I'm away for the holidays so I haven't gotten a chance to watch the show, but I'll definitely have something written up for next week by deadline. Hope everyone's excited for the PPV
  19. Sorry, a little off topic here, I've just started the desk: So Windows 10 is good to go now? I've been holding off since it was so buggy to begin, but I would like to upgrade while it's still free. Anyone else have any opinions/experience with it?
  20. I'd be careful with that. That thought process is going to be your downfall. You can't go into any situation assuming it is or needs to be like what you've already experienced.
  21. Anyone else notice the Ex Division title has started to cave in on itself? It's almost like Matsuda has had it for so long that it's trying to actually merge with him. It's gross.
  22. We should probably set up a rescue mission. Or some kind of charity fund. Or something. I mean, 08 was an AWFUL year. Someone should really save this man!
  23. Please don't keep an eye on me. I'm kind of on the lamb right now. Surveillance is not my friend.
  24. I'm trying to watch the shows, but for some reason the matches are not liking me today. Serious buffering issues. I got to about the point in the Crossroads match where he nails that magical clothesline and then it just wouldn't go anymore. So I'm just reading RP's. And I came to Smythe's and he said this: "Smythe: I didn't come back here to entertain a crowd of 14,000 people. I didn't come back here to become an internet streaming Sensation and definitely did not come back here to be OCW World Champion when OCW can't be seen by anyone without a broadband internet connection. " I just have to know: why is your target audience the hillbillies out in bumfuck-nowhere? Who doesn't have an internet connection these days? I think you're more likely to have internet now than cable. This is extremely trivial, doesn't matter at all, and really does nothing for show discussion, it just had me laughing that Smythe's target audience seems to be the exact opposite of his character.
  25. Turmoil was pretty good, especially for the first try. Ov, Jackson, and Black stood out the most to me. Which I think is good and bad. Obviously good start for them, but it looks like they're all heels, so that could be a bit of a mess. I think Turmoil may have a face drought going on. Being someone who has never seen Ov before, I'm excited to see what he's actually like. Not a super visual mind over here, so the only thing I gained about his appearance is that he's large. I enjoyed Jackson's match RP. The ME was also very good, but Jackson I'd remember that you have two sigs man, you should show them both off rather than hitting the DDT 3x. Also, Aries is right, you seemed tentative. But That's probably how it'll be for all of the rookies, I know I'm worried about it myself when I get in the ring. speaking of tentative, or not so tentative at all, I feel like Jackie was in Molly's face all match. As I'm watching and comparing all of these matches I'm seeing, trying to get a feel for the rules, I'd like to hear what some of the vets think about that, because it seemed a little much to me. Of course, I doubt the women's matches are played or regulated quite as strictly as the mens. The match was good, though I wasn't entirely sure if that was an editing botch or a 2/3 falls match. i think Andre Black is going to have the best character on Turmoil (at least thus far). It helps a lot when you pick something that can be easily translated to the game and with the N.O.D. in the game, I think Black is going to have so many entrances, moves, and taunts to choose from he can really run with it. Smart move on his part. Wouldn't be surprised to see a stable form around him at some point. Good show guys.
