Just wondering, what was the reason for the stat change?

Bit of change, I want to see how it effects champions and the general populace.

Call me crazy... but I brought this up with Dims and thought that it could be a good idea. Just throwing it out there.

What if the base stat remained the same at 82, but we also had a "reliable bonus" for those who are active on shows. The "reliable bonus" would bring the player's stats up to 85, and then the rest of the champion stats would be as listed in the rules. I have no idea what the qualification would be for this "reliable bonus", perhaps if the person consistently has one promo every week (taking into account personal issues/real life stuff) and submitting content/matches before the deadline (making the job easier for the GMs), or something along those lines.

This way, there is an added incentive to putting in work for the show, and it simulates the real life idea that only the better wrestlers get screen time (though it would be backwards, in that those who get screen time are better wrestlers). Also, people are rewarded for putting in work.

This rule, of course, wouldn't make a difference to the majority of active guys on the site, because most people manage to put together a promo for a show, but it might be a cool way to get other people involves.

Just my two cents, but what do you think?

IMO it sounds like a lot of effort for the GM..for essentially something that wouldn't really matter.

People who put in work are going to put in the work regardless of incentives [because they enjoy it]..same as people who don't and people who flake are going to follow their nature and not.

You could promise to pay someone cash IRL each week to put a promo in and they would still flake

I'm not a huge fan of this plan, or even the 85 Cap since I think 82 provides just enough to flesh a guy out with reasonable Defense, Charisma, a Pumped up skill, and speed OR durability. However, I may be biased because I'm a cruiser and the 82 fits my playstyle/how I see my CAW's proficiencies perfectly. What I think would be better is going back to the Class Based Stat System, where you get an overall stat Cap for your weight class, higher for cruisers/lower for big guys since cruisers give up their ability to consistently win the tap mini-game and have a much lower base durability. In addition we could have individual stat caps for different types of wrestlers i.e technicians, showmans, athletes etc. I'd be willing to work on fleshing this out with someone if we opted to go this route because the one drawback of this method is that it requires a lot of balancing to make sure you don't give cruisers too much of an advantage over the heavies.

I didn't even think of that. If everybody is 85 that does cripple cruisers, because everyone will probably have max speed, but cruisers don't have the luxury of having max strength. Everybody might as well get on og yoga.

That and Parker is already invincible, putting him at 90 is like giving him the title forever!

Yup, and that's exactly why the Ex-Division isn't doing well this season, because there is very little room to compete outside of the division unless you are really good on the sticks or you find a way to neutralize the heavy advantage. I had to shift to an almost exclusively strike based offense because cruisers will lose out in the grapple game in terms of damage, and even the ability to actually use most grapples 9 times out of 10.

Exactly, then you're basically exiling the Ex-Division on its own little island, which quite frankly would be okay if the Ex Division was thriving right now... which its not. Theres very few people who's MAINs are ex guys, which means the effort level is pretty low amongst them. If, hypothetically, you were to make the Ex its own separate brand, then you would have to make the Ex title of equal value to the World title, so that you can still have an Ex guy that can compete with heavies. (Not just saying that as the current Ex-Champ :P)
