Bobby Minio Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Brennan and I just had a two month long feud based around the hardcore and Ex titles as a means of making them active and matter again. We folded up two sparse and stale divisions and gave them a new definition. What you have to do now is get that title off of Brennan and let it become the new low card motivator. The thing is, titles shouldn't matter that much more to us as handlers than an opportunity to take responsibility and prove you can handle it, but from an in-character prospective, they should mean everything. Lower card guys have to know that making a name for themselves in the Ex division is the way that you introduce yourself to the bigger picture. Mid carders have to know that the NA title is the gateway into the World title picture. All of these titles have to mean something from a career prospective... because when these things are established, it makes your job easier for you. Titles are the ultimate motivator in any competitive picture, so when you're sitting around wondering what your character should be talking about or getting into storyline wise, it should be a title. Whether in a long game sense or the short game of directly feuding for that title, your characters more often than not should be thinking baout advancing their career and doing so by winning titles. http://ocwfed.tv/recapppv/Awards%202k18/UpdateOTY18.png

Don't listen to Parker, he's like Euro Smythe now! 4
Pugh Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 We should replace all titles with a ranking system based on how many times you make Jay laugh. 2 No.
Cody Storm Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I was actually thinking the same thing about needing to cut down on the amount of championships here. But after talking it over some in a party last night, I changed my mind. I think the problem was legitimate, but now it just appears to be a problem when in fact it's not. Mainly because we just unified two titles, which hasn't taken a real effect yet because we're only two weeks out from having done it. Also, I think everyone is so paired up in their feuds right now that it makes it look like the belts have fewer people to go for them than they really do. I could see Tyga, Bobby, Cut-Throat, Austin, and Drago challenging for the Hardcore/Ex. Guys like RK, KD, Bobby, Trance, Mugen, and Dims challenging for the NA title. And then Tobin, Pugh, Dupree, Suda, Mugen, and Trance in the World. Those are fairly deep challenger pools, but most of the challengers are tied up right now. I'd start putting contendership rewards on some of those feuds (which I feel like the booker already has in mind) and things should run smoothly. The only title that seems completely irrelevant right now is the tag title, but The A-Team has been so dominant and had it for so long I'd hate to take the belts away.

In order to be taken seriously in a feud with you, I'd need to save a burning orphanage, assassinate Putin and cure cancer... Even then, I'd somehow still be the more interesting heel :( 3
Cody Storm Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 If you cure cancer and are still seen as a more believable/interesting heel than I am I'll quit forever!
