Hey,

Something that kind of sorta came up in the town hall is that we all like different things when it comes to wrestling storytelling, presentation, characters, comedy, whatever. But we didn't really push past when the idea of a clean slate was presented. Hence why I said "what the hell does that mean?" So this is my likely wrong way to take a step forward for that.

I’ve enjoyed ROH, MLW, TNA, NJPW, AEW, and WWE at different points, and I've been vocal my favorite part of OCW isn't the videos, the rps, the matches, per say, my favorite part is the character presentation. The point is, there isn’t one “right” way to do this. For me, I make content I’m happy with first, I keep Jay in mind second, and then I think about the wider audience.

That’s why I think the B17 story works. He got manipulated into a match with Emp, attacked more than once (Quartz included), and then suspended for hitting the boss. That’s as classic as it gets: babyface gets played, authority figure steps in, authority figure uses their power.

The whole “he’s not around, not fighting for OCW, leaving people behind” thing just feels like ignoring the actual story. Which I heard today is a big no-no.

Just because it’s not the story you would’ve told doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense.

If this “clean slate” is what we’re doing, then let’s actually do it, re-engage with the content, and cut back on the snark. A little bit, anyway. No way Parca stops being snarky and I like to make a joke out of everything.

But Jake, Emp, me, and plenty of others have put time into building something we’re proud of.

And I get it some feel like their own stuff gets brushed aside. So, If that’s the case, I’d love to see short write-ups defending those stories too. That way I can understand WHY you are doing what you're doing.

I'm not sure if this is the right approach, but I will start here.

Let me continue the discussion by saying I think B-17 smells like 3 day old diapers, pass it on

Some good talking points here. However after today's discourse it seems that alot of detractors about this storylines was a result of underlying issues that festered into vitriol. I could be wrong.

I wholeheartedly agree with short right storyline discourse. Something to think about for sure.

My hand still smells from hitting you to help Emp get away.

I will say I was looking forward to the Quartz segment all week, then the B v Bash match had me so hyped I forgot about it for a sec. It was executed very well. Nepo Nate shirts are already on sale in the shop if you're looking for one.

I liked the masking in Clickbae vs The Lobby. The editor went out of their way to hide all the HUDs except for the wrestlers who were actually active in the match. I know from experience that this kind of editing is time-consuming and can be a real pain to pull off, but the effort really paid off. It kept the presentation clean, preserved the mystery of the match dynamics, and made the whole thing feel more polished and immersive.

The AC Cobra segment. I felt like the sound design really let it down for me. Cobra clearly had a lot to say, and the delivery was strong, but instead of an interactive crowd reacting to the bars he was laying down, we just got a generic audience background. For me, that took away from the impact. With more dynamic crowd reactions, the segment could have hit so much harder.

The decision of who Quartz was going to fire also stood out, because it had its own hype package. That extra layer of production really added to the weight of the segment and gave it a sense of importance. It felt like the kind of thing a real wrestling company with a dedicated production team would do, taking a storyline moment and presenting it as something significant. It made the decision feel bigger and more impactful.

Cobra asked prior to airing it and I told him he fucked it up and what to fix. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed.

Marcus's audio was fixed but it was still low had to bust out the diagram.
