Versus Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 If you're a big jacked beast, your moveset should be a big jacked beast moveset. They need to keep the match close, mythodical moving, tight, high impact moves. Corner moves, running, should be in kept to a mininmum. I guess if you're gonna be a big guy, you gotta make sure your got your reversal skills up to par. If not...shrink down, and learn another fighting style. Also, if you're a big guy, you're the instigator. When have you seen Nash or Taker wait for the smaller guy to be the aggresor? Never. Just sayin, styles need to be used appropriately or else they're just moves. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/JDVS/footprints_1.jpg
Leon Valentine Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Actually I've already taken the runny-ness into equation. Something I ended up subciously developing in 2k8 because of the crappy slow gameplay(especially end match. REMOVING STAMINA RECOVERY WAS FUCKING BRILLIANT THQ, I FUGGIN LOVE LIMPING AROUND SLOWLY, I NEVER HAD A MORE BRILLAINT IN GAME EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE) and the loss of strikes. Am working on it, I didn't even notice it until someone pointed it out. I also miss being able to store finishers, another reason matches drag on for ages on this game. But yeah the game in general is just slow.
Smythe D. Wonder Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 you know in No mercy, the best wrestling game ever.... you couldn't store finishers either.... Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
Versus Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Right but you didn't slow down to the point where you're almost walking backwards either. :P http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/JDVS/footprints_1.jpg

Your moveset and playing style are part of the whole package. You can RP your ass off and win every match but if people dont like enjoy to see ya fight,i wouldnt see a point in doing the match. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g58/Undertaker1012/281x211.jpg Finishers: "Where is Tyro?!" Leon Valentine Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 you know in No mercy, the best wrestling game ever.... you couldn't store finishers either.... True but you had a lot longer to hit it.
Administrators Mr.Sensation Posted April 4, 2008 Administrators Posted April 4, 2008 Im going to look at it like this from 2 points of view. 1st point 2k8 has removed a big portion of the skill based game to focus on ease of use. That being said alot of shoddy stuff has been going on due to that game. Infact most things arent even isolated at this point it seems to be a reoccuring thing. That being said After WL3 I spoke with FPR and Mgnt and we want to do similar to an Indystyle Event, but more for the point to get everyone on the same page in regards to whats going on in OCWFED. Rather than brow beat someone over the head we want to get as many people as we can in one summit and discuss the pros and cons of the various issues with SVR08 and come to a reasonable solution. So when the date is announce I would like to see as many people as possible, the length of the open discussion will only be about an hour or 2 at most. This is really the only way we can move forward as a team as opposed to me getting all angry and shitting on things I dont like constantly. Now than to the point of what I Saw on Riot. Now despite being Mr.Furious I generally hold a very high opinion on everyone (even bold) until proven otherwise. I do have to say what I saw on Riot soured me, now I say this because Im looking at it from a CEO Standpoint but I saw The NA folks basically sucker Majin and set him up for a loss so they can say (The NA is better than ME) Thats what I got out the whole ordeal looking at the matches and who fought who. Why do I say this? Because I look at who was involved. On 1 hand you have Majin who will work with anyone when asked, I heard AA Mention that the ME is to busy with there own shit, however Majin has pretty much worked with any and everyone at one point or another when simply asked. Anyhow I see him being asked to particpate and rather than play the (well im to good card, or I am ME, or hell That doesnt make any sense) He goes with the flow. And his thanks is a shitty match which makes some not all people start to jibber jabber about nothing. Why does this bother me? Because while OCW is not the WWE or TNA I still like to belive when going into a big event, that the general Goal, is to try to make everyone look as strong as possible. Maybe im just old Fashioned or maybe I just think to highly of everyone and assume that everyone holds each others best intrest not just there own in the product. So while im sure I am wrong, It just left a really bad taste in my mouth, (no AA not that kind of taste you sick freak <_< ) . So there is my mini rant Im actually proud I can formulate a few paragraphs without completly flipping my shit. Or maybe its because I have a lingering disappointment. I am not sure if its noticed or not since folks have there heads so far up there own asses to noticed others stuff. But its seeming like the New Breed (Now I dont want everyone to get butt hurt) Is not cutting the mustard. I mean I always hear "When Can we shine, when is it our turn etc" So we pass the ball and instead of running with it, you run straight into a god dam wall. Thats how I feel it is, back in the day (cant belive im saying that) It just felt different, or maybe its because FPR was a little more lax. But I felt I had the utmost confidence in the upper echelon of talent. As if I knew that I wouldnt have a complaint with a young Nate, Guy, Nick etc. And I never had or to be fair I never recall any issue. It just seems the guys that are supposed to be edging into these spots so the old dogs can bow out gracefully just are not up to the same standards. And I dont know whose fault is that?, Is it SVR2k8 for the way the gameplays and what it focuses on? Is it me for having faith in these people to carry the torch as opposed to just being stuck in my ways? Is it Mngnt for actually giving a shit and giving these guys a shot? Is it them for being focused on that W and not on what founded the place? I dont know but rather than grow bitter and jaded, Im going to take the position that any problem can be worked out with level heads. Because while we arent perfect. And hell while this isnt nowhere near as bad as the Dark Ages, we are still 1 big team. And in order to stay on top we all need to be at the top of our game. 15-06, 18:20 Tiberius Dupree make him tap with brownie mix "Booking Wrestling is the most thankless no-win position anyone could ever be in. When things go well it's the talent that makes it work. When they go badly, it's because the Booker doesn't know what he's doing." - Eric Bischoff Jookie: what website do we upload to againi for got Our Hero: uploadafraud.com Jookie: fuck u boricua "I'm like Smythe, except Good" - Matsuda OCW works best when it’s a melting pot of different ideas and opinions coming together to create some cool ass shit. It’s at its worst when people are only invested in their own/their pals’ content." - Paul Pugh "I'm 5,9" - Ry "I'm sorry if this sounds mean but OCW shouldn't be allowed to vote" - Jake Allen
Adrian Bold Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I walked forwarrd on Vega more just for your smythie boy it gave him his few quick grapples. When I use quick grapples I ususually just use them to pepper up my opponent I don't usually strong grapple after them. The rock used the peoples elbow and he was 280 when he fueded with foley.... My other finisher is a bearhug thats pretty hoss right? I had the dreamer driver but mayhem cried about it saying it was his. Honestly, 08 requires quick grapples as I do strong grapples too and try not to whip as much but you know the guys in the M.E aren't innocent either. They use the superman punch and the spinning back chop as a stun punch the same way I use quick grapples. I'm just doing my job if I have to beat the handicapped in 6 mins then damn it I WILL! http://i.imgur.com/zP10f.gif
