Nick Kage Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I walked forwarrd on Vega more just for your smythie boy it gave him his few quick grapples. When I use quick grapples I ususually just use them to pepper up my opponent I don't usually strong grapple after them. The rock used the peoples elbow and he was 280 when he fueded with foley.... My other finisher is a bearhug thats pretty hoss right? I had the dreamer driver but mayhem cried about it saying it was his. Honestly, 08 requires quick grapples as I do strong grapples too and try not to whip as much but you know the guys in the M.E aren't innocent either. They use the superman punch and the spinning back chop as a stun punch the same way I use quick grapples. I'm just doing my job if I have to beat the handicapped in 6 mins then damn it I WILL! and there is the problem is SVR 08 this post sums it up. "When you're pushed... Nate Ortiz Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 This weeks show was meh, I saw some things I liked, (Ex: MMM/Trips RP), and a lot of bad ethics this week. HC match I saw Pee Stee use 3 straight attacks with the chair at one point. Chair shot, gets up chair shot, gets up Chair show. I know the head was already read but its like would this have been done if his head wouldn't have been red? With damamge from weapons as high as it is its almost like flatlining. Didn't like the playstyle of Cross especially because Majin isn't tech so it's not neccesary to go with quick grabs and irish whips for an entire match. But it is becoming a norm almost. On the whole quick grapple thing I am guilty of using the stun grapples a lot in there cases which are also more and more common. People who back away the whole match and try to make me miss my attack before they come at me. I use the stun like a punch combo only one to set up a grapple. I usually don't do any punches to go along with the stun. The other case which i man seeing more and more is people not waiting to reverse. I'll strike you and instead of you waiting for me to attempt a strong grapple I am met with a quick grab or strike on my delay. It's like the person is forcing me to attack right after my strike so they can pretty much reverse everytime and no be able to switch my timing. Quick grabs help with that as well. The spinning chop is also for that. If more people didn't do those things it could help the problem some. People need to remember reversing is as easy as ever if you get your strong grapples reverse you have a better chance to reverse the other guys. Even in grapple it's easier than ever. It all comes back to ethics. May 29 2005 - Present Took Dupree's Summer

Attack and defend is the basis of the game... someone on defence should have to counter to then go on the offensive... this is the reason why we have a reset after every knockdown... so people can switch between starting exchanges on offense of defence... there's alot of minor issues with the game... and 'm sure everyone is guilty of one thing or another... multiple quickgrapples in one combination... irish whip whoring... stun strike whoring... skipping movement (running in and out of range)... backtracking... quickgrapple whoring... ground grapple whoring... weapon whoring... and the only possible solution that would make the problem go away... is have all the guys that play one way on one show... and have the guys that play another way on another show... 07 had the same problems... but CAW police stayed on top of everything... tell guys that certian moves didn't fit their CAW and certain things had to change... that's what kept 07 successful IMO... but 08 had limited moves... which is another beat altogher... but they are also limited to go with your chosen styles... so uggh... Vincent Valmont Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Because of 2k8's game mechanics, I had to switch to the HHH punch, and hip toss to even get a chance to land a strong because once again, 2k8. Too hard to hit a strong, hell I'll be lucky to land one strong the entire match. 08 has killed any chance to tell of what the current skill level among the roster is. Some who were great on 2k6, and 2k7, are dragging with 2k8, and vice versa. Just commenting my opinion on what i've read through the forum. I'll comment on the show when I finish watching. Josiah Cross Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I'm not going to say much because I see this has already sparked something. I did not break FPR and I beat Majin. Majin style was cheap as hell running around all the time. I hate it when people start matches off with a running attack. I find running period just cheap especially when you stop in front of the person...what are they supposed to think you are running attacking/grappling them? This was a pick your poison match and I didnt find out until Saturday (two days after the card was out) that Bold chose Majin. I liked the opportunity and I couldnt disagree with his pick...I see what Jay is saying about believing in making everyone look good going into Lution...but I don't know what to say. Bold picked my opponent and I played to beat Majin. To counter his running at me all the time I quick grappled. If you rather see me set up quick grapple rather then whip (which I only do to mix it up since I dont have a combo strike set up) I can change that. The only thing is the only set up that really fitst my character is the knee to the gut. Quit trying to tell me what I should be in ring as "big guy" the game is already limited and lacks low damage high impact moves. I am a heavyweight, regardless, I want win matches, and I'll fight like all the other heavys if I have to. If you want me to switch up my style give me the SUPERHEAVY spot. Trevor McManus Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Screw the superheavy spot. Nobody should have it, the whole idea of the CAW regulations (as well as making sure we're not all robots) was to make it fair and sort of even. The super things makes it totally unbalanced and unfair. http://positivesharing.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/complaining.jpg [23:39] locoNY911: You get solace in the fact you arent a fuck up. 2k9's better than 2k8.
