Environmental Report Final Part

Nate and Versus Promo: Bit of a heart to heart from these two. Talking about the past and how they carry around scars, Versus is upset with Nate and Nate expects him to understand. Good build up for both matches here and I got to say I’m looking forward to them.

Air vs. CJ: Air’s entrance is great don’t know how to describe it but it’s great. I LOVE CJ’s gold attire. CJ shows Air that he’s come to fight for the title in the early going by putting together a chain of a few strikes and a chop which send Air to the mat followed up by a stomp to the gut. Air responds quickly by punching CJ in the gut a kicking him out of the ring. CJ’s rolling with a couple of shots to the kidneys but air comes back strong again with a dropkick to the face. CJ hits Air with a DDT for the first real impact move of the night and follows this up with a hurricanrana. CJ hits another big move throwing Air’s head against the mat and it looks like our champion is in trouble. Air returns with a few kicks and a submission hold though as he shows he’s not about to give up his title so easy. But CJ continues the pressure with a spinning heel kick and a standing moonsault, nice EX action here. Air brings it back to a more brutal level as he hits three harsh close lines. Air hit’s a big neck breaker showing that he can fly as well as the next EX competitor leaping into the air(no pun intended) and grabbing CJ’s neck, however the underdog counteracts this with a big flying elbow off the top and the first pin count of the night which Air kicks out of at two. Air looks to showcase his basic wrestling skills with a headlock takeover, not to be outdone CJ comes back with an arm drag which he follows up with a big fist drop. In the end it looks as though both competitors could win but Air gets those knees up in CJ’s face and it’s all over. After the match Reed comes out obviously pissed off that Air messed with the scales in order to cost him a place in the match, CJ tells Reed he was stupid not to follow underdog rule number one which we learned earlier is to know your opponent and counteract accordingly. Reed and CJ have an altercation allowing Air to slip out with his EX Title.

Kage and Smythe Promo: Kage tells Smythe he will be an abomination to the OCW Title, I laughed. They have a little chat and as the scene fades they shake hands. Good build up to the two final matches of the night.

Versus vs ???: I’m marking for Versus’ entrance and his t-shirt thingy, nice design. A selection of music plays as we await VS’ opponent including mine. Now when I heard my own music I marked thinking I was coming to the ring, I’m losing it I tell you, this is even funnier because I was joking with someone that I‘d be the one facing Versus but it‘s so well hidden I don‘t even know about it and just for a second there I thought it might have been but no Deano Horse comes to the ring to steal the moment that never was for me. Now I HATE the song Deano uses for his entrance but when it’s on his entrance I mark and when he does his stage crotch chop thing you can actually feel the energy haha. Versus starts off quick and hits an uppercut and goes for a quick cover but Deano kicks out in the nick of time at 2. Deano comes back with a few chops and an uppercut of his own which gets him a 2 count. Some good back and forth action as Versus hits what looks to be a fisherman suplex type move off the top rope, Deano comes back with a top rope arm drag. Deano gets a roll up on Versus who kicks out at 2. Deano puts Versus in a small package for another 2 count. Deano rolls Versus up for another 2 count. I tell you one of these times Versus will get caught with these quick pins. Versus is through playing around as he hit’s a brutal close line and locks in a boston crab, there’s been more boston crabs on this pay per view than you’d find in a hooker in the Boston area and strangely enough the hooker ha s abetter chance of gaining a submission because none of the boston crabs we’ve seen tonight have worked. (SIDENOTE: Versus does a punch while he’s being held in a grapple by Deano but again I’m sure it was a mistake) Versus drops Deano from the top rope with a big DDT. Versus had previously hit a big elbow on Deano while flexing his muscles, now Deano returns the favour hitting a series of elbows while flexing his hips in between. Deano catches Versus with a northern lights suplex and bridges for the pin but Versus stretches his foot to the ropes for the break. Deano immediately afterwards catches Versus with a fisherman suplex with a bridge but Versus manages to kick out at 2. Versus looks to be in trouble as Deano hits him with a german suplex, he follows this up with a triple suplex just for good measure. Deano hit’s a backdrop and goes for a cocky pin with his foot on Versus’ chest but the champ kicks out at 2 again. Deano looks for the win as he locks in a figure four but Versus breaks out of it. Versus hit’s a neck breaks off the top as he looks to get back on top. Versus looks for the finish with the dime bag drop but Deano reverses it pushing him away. Deano hits his spine buster and goes for the finish but Versus reverses. In the end Versus hits Deano’s own finisher and pins the excellence of sexellence to keep the CCW Championship.

Smythe vs. Fausto: Even if you don’t like Smythe how can you not mark for this guys theme? Then we have Fausto, when that music hits it still send chills down my spine. Then we have a tiny svr loading screen, for shame this is a ppv main event you lazy fucks. Smythe comes out fast hitting Fausto with a chop but Guy blocks Smythe’s right hand and takes him down with a close line. Fausto goes for a quick win rolling Smythe up using the ropes for leverage but Smythe kicks out at 2. Smythe hit’s the right hand that Fausto blocked earlier and takes Guy down with an arm drag. Guy puts Smythe into the dreaded chinlock but Smythe breaks out. Guy knocks down Smythe and drags his boot across his face but Smythe comes back with a chop and a close line knock down. Many people doubted the so called “alpha-heel” but he’s doing pretty well so far. Fausto works Smythe with a nice headlock takeover but Smythe comes back crushing Guy in the corner and slamming his head against the mat. Smythe begins to play dirty choking Fausto on the ropes but Guy comes back dragging Smythe into the ring post. Smythe has been working over Fausto’s back with a backbreaker and a high angle backbreaker but Guy comes back grabbing Smythe by his hair and pulling him back across his knee for a backbreaker of his own. Guy kicks Smythe off the apron as it spills on to the outside, Smythe recovers and smashes Guy off the security barrier. Guy reverses Smythe’s finisher attempt on the outside and the fight goes back into the ring where Guy hit’s a Russian leg sweep on Smythe. Now here comes the controversy, Guy hits Smythe with a dirty low blow looking for the finisher but the referee calls for the bell ruling that Smythe is the new champion.

Nate vs. Kage: Both guys entrances just equal markage. I’m not even going to review this match just watch history in the making.

My opinions will not be popular here, but I will express them anyway.

Smythe/Fausto better be a storyline, because otherwise it makes no f'ing sense. If Smythe wins the match...Fausto should take his finish and put him over.

Nate/Kage was okay. Everybody is proclaiming how epic it was. Hell in the cell is designed to keep people out, not to allow countless run ins. In a match this epic, we shouldn't have seen run ins, IMO. The edit job was in fact nice, and clean, but I wasn't a fan of the run ins. Next, Versus coming down an attacking both parties? Hitting nate with the Stunner? Okay, its a heel turn, so why attack Kage? I think the heel turn was necessary for Versus, however, the manner in which it takes place doesn't take full advantage of the situation.

Obviously Nate wins the match, so Versus can't screw him out of the win. But he can hit the move, allow Kage to get a cover, and Nate kicks out at 2. That would have been more fitting. Instead, Versus' heel turn has no impact on anything. Its just "Hey, I attacked everybody, OMGZ I'm stone cold now". Actually appears this had the opposite affect as people seemingly are marking out for the "Austin" like attacks....meaning, Versus is still in fact, a face. FAIL

On to the finish, STFNATE, good editing holding Kage in it forever and ever. I dug that. Kage passes out, referee calls for the bell? No...no...no....that's not how you pass a torch. Scott Hall once said in an interview, (referring to Goldberg as Bill never wanted to lose to a clean finish) when you are losing a high profile big money match, you go out there and take your opponent's finish. Kage should have tapped out to end his career, putting Nate over. Instead we get Austin/Bret Hart finish from years past. Its clear all parties worked very hard, I'm not taking anything away from that. But lets be honest about what it could have been.

I have to agree w/ Parker on this one.

I agree with that opinion. Although I liked the match the finish was a bit gay. Also the fact fausto hits a low blow when countering Smythe's ground grapple and does not get DQed kinda takes away from what they're going for.

**Vs pulls down the right side of his trousers, exposing burn scars along his hip and down his thigh.**

Nate: Did...did I...

Vs: Yep, you did. That's the work of Bacardi 151 and a bad temper.

Nate: I told you, and proved to you 100x over that I was sorry.

Vs: And I believe you. Still...no matter how many times you said it, the scars never disappeared. But...its not all about that...see

**Vs holds out his hand, which still has a scar from when Kage put the knife through his hand at the bar**

Vs: It's not just you who focused on what you wanted. Kage did too. Remember Nate...selfishness is blind. Now because of both of your selfishness, the results could mean your career. You want to know why I'm upset? Because you allowed your selfishness to blind you to the point of not even caring about the almost unfillable gap you'd leave in the Revolution.

That pretty much sums up why Versus attacks both of us. This wasn't out of the blue if you look back at rps in recent weeks you could tell this was coming.

Overal I dug the show. Congrats to Trips on his W. Seemed like Colt didn't even notice Kip was going for the pin in that Hardcore match. I liked Cruz V Knox but would have prefered it stayed in the parking lot just so it could have been different. Really like Kang and Aries shirts.
