Nathan Gaines Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I'm a huge mark of built up story and fueds with meaning. Yes last year's Lution had greater star appeal, but I feel like this is a card that makes up for maybe lack of star power with great depth. It's a huge turning point in the company cause it's the next wave so to speak. I love Nate and I love Steve and I love well myself, but look at who all of us are working with. Steve's in the FI match with Frank and Trips who could very well be the next it guys. Nate's working with Deano who could end up being the next Versus. I'm working with Vindi who could be the next Mayhem. It's an awesome card cause of the history and because it has the old guys vs new guys feel No disrespect to Blade v Versus Guy vs Pee Stee MMM vs VV and all other matches I'm didn't list there. Because let it be known that I definitely am looking foward to those matches LocoNY911: I hate you with every fiber of my being just looking at your name makes me want to strike my monitor
The Steve Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I didn't take any offense, and my comment wasn't intended to to be anything but a debate against expressing opinions. I understand your viewpoint, but your solution is to silence. For whatever Bold's reasons, he doesn't like the card. He is allowed to feel that way, and he is allowed to express that. You are attaching the 'negative' tag because you don't like his opinion. I'll bet he could make a case that you are 'negative' because you don't agree with him. My point is, I've found that getting pissed off at every view you don't like is just plain counter productive. You waste all that energy yelling at someone becuase you don't like what he said instead of using all that anger to construct an argument to explain why he is wrong...or you could just ignore that you don't like, like I do with a lot of things. Sensation: "I'm an ignorant hispanic."

I never said anything about Bold and his Opinion, like I said Steve, I'm talking about the whole thing in General. Now I've always respected your opinion, whether I like it, or not, because I know you'll fight to prove your point. Now this could go back and forth for the next three years, and we'll probably have no E-Fed by then. But it seems like you feel you need to prove your right, even if it means our E-Fed going six feet under. Yes, every man has the right to voice their opinion. But you wouldn't let a random person walk upto you in the street, and insult your family, without doing something to stop it, would you? Whether what they're saying is right or wrong, they're hurting something you care about. This place is like a second Family to many of us, including me. So when I see someone shitting on it, causing it to slowly die, I feel the need to do something, to stop that happening. Poe touched on another subject, that needs seeing to. Couch potatos in OCW, if you're not active, then in my opinion, your judgement shouldn't matter, when it comes to in-ring/show matters, since you're not playing the game (SvR & RP/Fued wise) activly, in OCW.
The Steve Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 You are correct, I do feel the need to prove I am right, becasue I sincerely feel it's the speech and viewpoints that we don't like the most, so long as it doesn't promote actual violence, that needs protecting. Frankly, that's why there is the ignore feature...so you don't have to see the comments from people you don't like or find annoying. I use this feature a lot, and it is so much easier than chastizing someone. Religious fundys are the type of people that want to control what people say. You and everyone here are much better than that. As far as your stranger insulting my family hypothetical....it's only words man. Words don't hurt unless you let them. I wouldn't be happy, but what would stopping and getting into a shouting match with him accomplish except a bunch of looks from people and possibly the cops called?...nothing. What I would do is continue to walk downteh street until he was gone, then laugh about it. Sensation: "I'm an ignorant hispanic."

You and I both know, that's not what you'd do Steve. You'd defend your family, if you knew it was worth fighting for. I'm all for an open discussion, much like this. Which is why we're still talking about this, we need this conflict sometimes, clearly. But to the point, where people don't even want to talk anymore? No. This is mainly because, everyone believes they're right about everything. I know you think that's a good thing Steve, that we have more open opinions (and in some cases, it is), but not when it's destroying the Community. As for comparing me to the Religious fundys, if being one of those people, means trying to get people to realize, that the place we're all typing on right now, is dying, and we're doing fuck all to help it? Then strap me with a Bible and call me the Holy Father of OCW, because this shit needs to change.
The Steve Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Honestly dude, what I would say on a message baord is a sometimes different than how I would react in the real world. In the real world, I ignore A LOT of shit I hear on a daily basis. I have to, because if i argued with everyone that said something that pissed me off, I'd probably be in jail, or in a nut house, and both don't really appeal all that much to me. I'm just going to end up repeating what I've said already, so I'm going to end this for tonight. I will end on this though...I strongly disagree with you assertion that people's opinions that you don't like are 'killing' OCW. What is 'killing' OCW I believe has nothing to do with free speech at all..it's one of teh things implemented in V3, the shoutbox. Sensation: "I'm an ignorant hispanic."
Aries Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 IMO, aside from the EX match, this card looks great. A lot of build up with most of the matches. Should be a fantastic PPV. Looking forward to it.

I know reacting on these Boards differs, from how you would in the Real World Steve. You're drifting from the actual matter at hand. I'm asking you, if you cared about OCW enough, wouldn't you do anything you could, to make sure it's a good place, and that the Community is happy? To end my side of things, I sort of agree with your statement about the Shoutbox. I agree that it's part of the problem, with the inactivity on Forums. But I don't believe it's the main cause. That's all folks, back to talking about the Card and how Lution is gonna' blow the roof off of this place.
Mayhem Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I'm working with Vindi who could be the next Mayhem. I hope you show him some old footage because there is some bad history as well as good history that made this Monster. Some good, some bad, & some that should no be repeated. Although I see Vin as the resirector of the wrongfully acused. https://t.me/pump_upp
Justin Rockstar Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 There's more discussion going on in this thread than there's been in any show in all of 09, and it's barely about Lution. First of all, I love the fact that this is being done in Vegas, i sense some badass RPs coming and if you're not involved in Lution, I suggest you get something in for it, I wanna see the longest most entertaining PPV in OCW history. Leon vs. Smythe: The top two heels in the business fighting it out to see whose the best with the biggest prize in our business on the line. There's a lot of history behind these two and I really like how Smythe and Leon have outlined that. Smythe, I've known you for a long time and I knew before you even joined OCW that you ARE star power. Definitely a top teir main event for this era of OCW. Speaking of this era of OCW, Bold, if you had been paying attention to anything that's been going on in OCW, maybe you'd see how truly historical this Lution is going to be. Sure, a lot of guys from last year arent involved, but as I'm sure you've seen in the E, the business evolves. I understand that you've got the whole college thing as your number one priority, believe me, I'm in the same boat. But if you don't know the backstory to what's going on for this event, don't knock it. Nate vs. Deano: Nate, I've got a lot of respect for you. You're the top legend in OCW today and one of the building blocks that the foundation has rested upon. I've too often seen people who think that since their the top dog that they should get a big title match at every PPV, but what you give week in and week out shows the respect and dignity you hold for what has become OCW. I love seeing title matches that are more about a personal feud than they are about the belt itself and I see nothing but classic showdown written all over Nate vs. Deano. Mayhem vs. Seth: The buildup to this match has been simply tremendous. If matches were being booked based upon buildup, then the two of you would have the Main Event of Lution. I'm looking forward to seeing what big spots these two are going to blow our minds with. Ex Gauntlet: Excellent concept match, I commend whoever came up with the stipulations. I hope to see great fast-paced Ex action and a dramatic finish. Put in the hard work and make this one a thriller, gentlemen. Blade vs. VFM: Another personal feud with big buildup. VFM, you are the hardest working stoner in OCW and I'm sure that had a lot to do with the creativity you've put into this feud. Both of you got in eachothers heads psychologically and I want to see an all out brawl to the death at Lution. Parker vs. HGF: The two of you have pushed the envelope with this feud, doing something no one's ever seen before. I like the 'hobofight' stipulation and I hope to see the most glorious hobofight in hobofight history. Future Investment Ladder Match: Ah yes, the yearly tradition that gives four men who put themselves through hell to get into this match the opportunity to cash their ticket to immortality. Seems this match has added some definition to OCW and has made past winners careers. I expect this to be a good, long, dramatic match filled with eye-popping spots and swerves all around. MMW vs. ???: The Maniac returns and puts out an open challenge to any of the guys in the back. I've always been a fan of mystery opponents and I can't even imagine what this match has in store. Poe vs. Mania: Poe has taken everything away from Chris Mania. First his dignity, followed by his tour bus, then Phoenix Industries, and more recently, his Far Beyond Metal tag team partner, yours truly. From working with both of these guys a lot lately, I can see that they will put on a good Lution-calibur back and forth match. Gaines vs. Vindicator: A dark-seeded rivalry leads to each man trying to burry their demons once and for all... This time though, their demons are eachother. The personal interaction between the two of you gives me high expectations for this match, do your families proud gentlemen. MMM vs. VV: We haven't seen the Hardcore title defended in quite some time, which makes me anticipate this match even more. Two masters of weaponry go at it for one reason and one reason only, to hear the fans scream HE'S HARDCORE! HE'S HARDCORE! Tear eachother's faces off and LET THERE BE BLOOD!
