Its to each his own. I guess. Like for me I'm not going to do a knock down punch or quick grab right into my ground finisher. Its gonna be my fig move spot, drop toe hold, full nelson facebuster, and very rarely a ddt. I do it because IMO ground finishers are easier to hit and IMO I feel I'm taking the easy way out If I go for a ground finish without the set up. Same reason I won't hit a finisher on someone on the move that turns them finishable. Nothing against the rules but it just makes me sigh like a number of other things that are done that aren't against the rules.

On this i completely agree with that a 100%. I have a ground finisher and too me. Just doing a running strike, grapple into it, is just lame IMHO. That's just me however but feel people do that to take an easy win. For example like someone also doing a run and grapple and then hitting an areal after it.

I at least would do a set up move or a sig into a ground/ariel finisher.

I'm fighing so hard Leon because my setup for The Steve is a quick grapple arm drag, and I really fail to see how that's unfair when I give them more than enough time to attempt to reverse it, and teh initial quick grapple can be reversed too.

I completely get where you guys are coming from, but not everyone abuses the system (like myself).

I do a low blow sometimes into an LKO and that to some people might not be considered a nice setup into it. But is easy and gives people time to counter. Just watching some matches and the way seen some ariel and grounds done just too me look like an easy win for that person. Not saying people bad for doing that but too me is just meh. But again my opinion and just the same as someone hating my LKO setup at time :p

My recent thinking has led my to think that an individualized approach to setup would be better than to unilaterally say 'no QG or strikes into a ground finiher'. If someone's setup is definiely cheesy though, call 'em out, as I too have seen some cheesy shit myself.

...AHEM.

Think someone has countered my Airplane Spin to cutter combo before though, not sure.

it is able to be countered, i've seen Trance and Baxter do it, i dont know how many times.

it's somewhat on the level of what NATE was talking about, it's some what like a ground finisher because of the time you have to hit said finisher, there's nothing wrong with it, there is just a long period of time that allows you to pull the move off and kinda fake out your opponant which makes it harder.

there could have been worse ways to end that match. I personally liked seeing OD hit pinning moves after trying his finishers because no one does that.

mmmmmm yes

WARNING!

If you haven't watched Riot, do not read this review, because it covers every single nook and crany that has come out of brilliant minds of my fellow OCDubbers. What the fuck are you doing on page 4 anyways? Dickwad.

The Review: As Rox Sees It

Last weeks show featured the fallout of OCW's premier PPV, WrestLution. This week, the chaos has come to an abrupt hault as The Regulators have taken back OCW. What will happen now that the chaos is organized?

-PAGE 1-

The show kicks off with Smythe DaWonder, who seems to be challenging Mr. Adams' Regulators. I'd love to see these faction members face off, my curiosity is definitely with OCW's game-changing stables.

K. D'Angelo's mystery man is trying to bring out the best in him every week. I like how the masked vet keeps KD's attention focused on the task at hand while at the same time planning for the future. Seems he's got his priorities in order, take out tonight's opponent Blade, finally get his hands on Ryder, and then find a way to make a statement at the expense of this X guy. Could KD finally be coming into his element?

VFM has hired a hitman to take out... someone... perhaps Blade? Family Guy references are always markable, especially when you know them when you see them... or maybe I watch too much TV.

K. D'Angelo vs. Blade: Honestly, I expected a squash match with Blade coming out on top, but I was pleasantly surprised to see an evenly paced, top quality match. I think Blade got robbed when he hit KD with his finisher and KD got right up because of that bleed ability, just a case of tough luck for Bladey Boy. I did, however, like that KD didn't hold the pin after hitting a finisher of his own, thus giving Blade a fair chance. Great match gentlemen, congrats KD.

Flem does just what a common thug should do, go through someone's stuff to buy a body guard. I hope you know whose stuff you rummaged through though, we all know how the guys get when someone peaks at their personal shit. You should've just left the bottle of 40 in the bag as a thank you of sorts. Hopefully that bodyguard will come through when the person that the bag belongs to comes after you to make you eat teeth.

-PAGE 2-

Another video plays teasing the debut or return of this X guy. At the end of the video, it says "One day, a king will come, and the sword will rise again." A king? What does this mean??

I always like I-Gen's RPs, they have so much chemistry together. So are you guys still together or what? You throw some funny stuff out there yet the mention of your facion is nowhere to be found. I would like to see I-Gen come back but with the new group of the Regulators, it may be too late for that. Oh well, win those tag belts tonight and hopefully we'll see more RP's with win from you.

Omega Dragon vs. Evan "MiniVinnie" Knox (I'm sorry man, you just look too much like Valmont!): Ex action, Evan Bourne move, blurs across my screen, 14567543 finisher reversals. The ex guys show us just why their division is unique in OCW. It seems that the Ex title has been brought back to prestige, there are so many good Ex guys in OCW now, I am truly pleased. Oh, good match fellas.

JOZZY!

-PAGE 3-

Mayhem's getting married!!! I mean... Mayhem's getting married??? Interesting to see what will come of this.

Team 3D are at it again... again. That wasn't a typo by the way, 3D stands for Dynamic Dysfunkshunal Duo. Anywho, glad to see Coop finally retire that eye-sore of a title belt... for now. I think deep down inside, he was sick of seeing it himself. At the end of the RP, Air's only line is... well, what Coops nickname and Air's trademark quote is becoming. Big stupid... nevermind.

Air-Coop© vs. Deano-Cruz - TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: This match was rather entertaining. A couple of funny spots in the match to take note of, Air doing a springboard move and hitting the ref, then Coop pressing Deano out of the ring and Deano landing right on top of Air. Good disfunctional tag team moment. Later on, Air is covering Carlos for the pin and Deano pulls the ref out of the ring. Thought is was over when he missed the first time but he timed it right and got it the second time. I like seeing guys breaking up pins in unique ways without always just running in, that grows boring and predictable. Seems it's the same thing every week for the tag champs, Air gets his ass kicked and Coop comes in to save the day. The superheavy and the lightheavy retain as usual.

Seth punks out RDizzle. You don't disrespect a vet son! There's going to be hell to pay!

Trance vs. Chino vs. Wesley: A lot of nice spots in this match. It's Ex action, so there isn't really a whole lot to say about it It seems like I say the same things every time I watch an Ex match, I.E., it's good to see the ex division heating up, wow these guys are fast, Evan Bourne is everyone's idol, etc. etc. etc. Congrats number one contender Trance, don't win the title again.

Kinda confused by the Knox/Ryder RP, first they talk shit about each other then shake hands, agreeing on taking control of the Ex division or something. Guess it's a case of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. Smart... I think.

-PAGE 4-

Nice victory speech by Trance. Just a bit of advise on something I've noticed from you. Be careful with your sentence structure, sometimes you include words or prases that aren't appropriate. For instance, "Chris Ryder, in your first defence I beat you last time..." You're pretty much repeating yourself when you include the phrase 'last time.' I understand wanting to put a good amount of information in your RP's, but try to keep your sentences simple. "Chris Ryder, in your first defence I beat you..." would have worked perfectly. Perhaps including those extra words was an accident, but I just thought I'd let you know. Sorry for the Matt Striker moment.

Guy Fausto© vs. Vindicator - PRIDE CHAMPIONSHIP: Vin, why'd you go back to the old music? I thought your gimmick was complete with the new music at Lution. Use that one please! This match was dominated by the most ironic superstar in OCW, and let me explain what I mean by ironic. You'd think a guy that was undefeated in the year 2009 would have glamour and presence to back it up, but he doesn't. He's a hobo. Who'da thunk it, that in 2009, OCW would be dominated by a homeless guy? That's all that needs to be said about this match.

VFM/Nate RP = GOLDEN. That's what happens when you mix two of OCW's greatest minds. Need I say more?

VFM vs. Vincent Valmont: Your attire is growing on me Vinnie, I like your new attitude and your new music. Let's see you keep winning to back it up Mr. Future Investment. I like VFM's wrestling style a lot, I also like how he uses near fall pins to add realism to the match. I honestly thought this match would be more evenly paced, but VFM had something to prove to Vincent and he definitely proved it, and with authoritah! Not a bad match even though it was one sided for the most part.

Amart gives us a little history lesson of his journey through OCW with Vinnie V as his friend turned foe. Using history is always a great way to beef up a feud. Only question is, what are you going to do to get VV's attention? How are you going to convince him to accept your challenge?

-PAGE 5-

Poe and Miss Chambers as a new Business Couple in OCW. I like Poe as a face, he seems to be the type of guy to give comfort to the fans for their own flaws. Adding Miss Chambers to the mix just makes him that much more markable, just have to give her a look that will honor your own. Very interested in seeing where this goes with Mayhem, looks to be something similar to the Kane/Lita marriage. I'm afraid for Miss Chambers.

RD Money vs. Seth Irving: I've been looking forward to this main event, this could be a PPV main event on paper. It's OCW's highest paid superstar vs. Mr. Cash Money himself, the original gangster, self-pronounced Greatness, the... match... is over before I can finish hyping it? Did Rodney just job? NO! Leon is here to save the day! Hmm... I don't think I've ever said those words before... he distracts $eth long enough for RD to hit the German Suplex Pin for the win. I think Irv saw the shiny strap and was salivating over it too much to be able to kick out. Leon's RP portion was phenominal, the whole "match" was phenominal. To quote the greatest piece of cinematography art I have ever seen, The Wrestler, "Two words, RE-MATCH."

RECAP: Life is good with the new GM in town. No offense to Jay, but the layout of the shows have a lot better ebb and flow to them now with a few minor exceptions (i.e., Amart's RP after VV's match). I think Jay was just getting burnt out on putting shows together. Everyone is doing a great job of storytelling in their RPs and matches and everything ties together quite nicely.

Oh, and RD held true to his word, just look at his sig.
