Nick Kage Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Trips has always been a piece of trash, case in point a few weeks ago when i posted my thoughts on what could help OCW and i said the negative bullshit and flaming of each needs to stop, Trips agreed with me... Then he posts this crap. And that folks is why OCW sucks people with attitudes like trips are here. It was one thing to have this attitude when we have 40-50 active members from a few people but now... OCW needs a change in heart from its members. I would advice people to trust in Smythe and RD and Jay and Save your petty bullshit remarks for something else. "When you're pushed... Killing is as easy as breathing!" http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/766/kagebannernv9.png http://www.selectmediafestival.org/2006/oct21.jpg
Trevor McManus Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 That's all very well and good and I do appreciate the fact that you guys have been working on this new stat system and I appreciate it, I really do. But I see my job here as to point out the bullshit that comes up not pat people on the back for doing what they're supposed to do. (They don't need, nor, did I think, want that.) When we submit matches and RPs we don't get "Yeah man job well done." But we sure as hell get a kick in the balls when we don't do it. I fail to see why staff should get a pat on the back when doing stuff right and no kick in the balls for fucking up? I'd also like to point out at this stage that Riot is at this point 13 days late. Is it coming? Cause I haven't heard jack about it. I happen to know that I've did a match and an RP for it so I'd find it HELPFUL to know what the score is there. Should I be posting an RP in the promo room or is the show coming? Then we also have Smythe which, to me, looks like he thinks because he's staff he's above everyone. What he said looks to me as though he's saying "You guys aren't STAFF you don't need to know what's wrong. Let someone who has a clue what they're doing worry about it." Meanwhile we're all sitting here thinking "Did I get it wrong?" Just a quick edit I had to add in here. I also don't find it to be helpful to the OCW community when people are trying to partake in discussion and a staff member, once again Smythe, tells them "you're retired nobody cares what you think." And in terms of what Nick said: I have been in no way hindering the OCW MEMBERS since I made that post. But in that post I made no promise to stop challenging staff members. So in closing: We don't get a pat on the back for doing what we're supposed to, nor do staff. We get kicked in the nuts for what's percieved as a fuck up, so should staff. If anyone finds a problem with someone else's CAW, be it stats or otherwise, they should IMMEDIATELY contact that person. If they post something about it they MUST tell people who they're talking to or they cause uneeded worry amoungst others. Smythe D. Wonder Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 in my defence... remember this year FPR and staff are in a sense rewriting OCW.... this is the first year that the rules will be different... and essentially everything from stats to the way we wrestle will be brand new... I infact am keeping my DM's down until we figure out the new rules and mechanics so i can focus on wrestling the new OCW style in matches... now because we have a new system and have to work it in now isn't the time to be blasting people about stats that aren't being cleared as of yet... what you can do is build your points up and when a thread goes up to clear stats get your wrestler cleared and then apply the points to your Caw... we're in no rush here... as the shows will return when everything is good and ready... if I say something like... people are messing up their stats... instead of asking the who's and what's when something is said... just look at your stats and make sure they're right... you have to learn a new system and you will LEARN IT... not have someone daddy and guide you to basic math... being above whomever else is not an issue anymore... were working on returning to the OCW that everyone liked... where FPR and CAW police were active and we had more shows then we knew what to do with... and where OCW community carried over to other games in a fun filled way... Anyway FPR is going to return to strict and rulely execution... which is what is needed and what we loved about it in the first place... Caw stat thread is up... let's get cleared and ready to wrestle Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
Karim TGO Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I really don't see how "OL' SKOOL OCDUBBERS" coming up in her constantly saying "ra ra ra, this is why OCW is in a rut, too much bitching, blah blah blah". This doesn't exactly help the situation, alot of things factor the downfall of this fed, mainly the game being god awful. The members here dedicate their time into trying to hand in matches, promos etc. I don't know if I speak just for myself here, but going onto the end of my previous OCW run, it became a chore, yeah I played the game because I enjoyed the competition but what it mostly became was helping the community have a solid roster with decent story lines, which is what each and every current member, as annoying as some of them may be, do each and every week. As Trips said, do any of these people get any of the credit that they deserve? No. Though I bet you the second some one like Kage, Versus, Nate, posts something or starts a story line, suddenly OCW will be "awesome", because it's OLD SKOOOL AGAIN. http://www.barcelonareporter.com/img_uploads/Cyber_bullying_2010.png Dane Xavier: Cyber Bullying is not only illegal, it's pathetic. ‘Because I’m so well dressed, people think “He must be gay. Pregnant! Another generation. We continue.’
Smythe D. Wonder Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Actually the actual reason why the old schoolers are held is a higher regard is because they are more creative writers then the current flock of OCW'ers... Also do you notice that when those said old schoolers post they don't make opinions on how OCW should be ran in reference to stats, FPR or anything of the sort... It's because they aren't wrestling so they don't tell us how we should be wrestling... What I told Ryder back then would have applied to any of them had they posted their nooks and crannies about what we should do... If you aren't going to wrestle STFU!!! Since then Ryder has returned active so he basicly retired for like a month anyway... Point is if you aren't going to be a part of something... How do you expect to govern it's rules??? Don't get me wrong... I hate the, "back in the day OCW was" as much as anyone else... But from a standpoint of writing and executing valid watchable storylines... They're right!!! Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
Nathan Gaines Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Trips did you honestly say your job here? Dude this is a wrestling e-federation. Last I checked it was for fun and for a creative outflow. Your job is to contribute creatively with a character, and have fun. Last I checked you weren't staff so you don't really have a job to do anything. Step back stop trying to always point out negative shit to make youself feel high and mighty and just enjoy stuff. This is suppose to be fun LocoNY911: I hate you with every fiber of my being just looking at your name makes me want to strike my monitor
Samuel Von Kerin Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 /beginrant There is so much wrong in what Trips said it is hard to start anywhere... Karim has good points as do Kage, Gaines and Smythe, but seriously comparing a single wrestlers effort to a GM is silly beyond all silly... @Trips: Your "job" is exactly the same as everyone elses, to make OCW the best it can be... not to play watchdog. You have no idea how much freetime staff put into doing "what they are supposed to". Some GMs in the past did "what they are supposed to" to the tune of 20 unpaid hours a week... for what... nothing in your eyes... but to OCW it meant another solid show, another turn of the wheel to keep OCW alive and going. We had 3 shows and and indy fed at one point... that is crazy... that is equal to the most successful real world federation! That was due to so many people working thier asses off behind the scenes to make that happen. You were one of them if you remember doing the top 10 lists everyweek... I think I remember you saying how hard it was to get done every week. Now imagine doing the process 5-6 times a week. That is the amount of time put into each and every show that aired during that time. It is easy to record a match and write a 5 minute roleplay... the hard part is to make it compelling, to make us want to care. The more people who look at thier own stories and matches and quit worrying about if staff is doing their job, the sooner OCW will rise to greatness once more. I know I have been gone along time as a wrestler, but OCW has been a part of my life for almost 4 years now. I have never watched a wrestling match and not thought of OCW and how we put on our very own shows... That is something very cool about OCW as opposed to the rest of the efeds... we have had some very very well produced shows in our history. We have had truly epic fueds and insane title matches all done for entertainment. Anyway, I think OCW can be better than it ever has been, but it will NOT be because of one person doing thier "job" or "what they are supposed to do" but rather because we have pulled our OCW family together and risen as a group to the level of greatness we all know we can reach. /rantover
Trevor McManus Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 But I see my job here You see where it says "I SEE"? That mean 'in my opinion' as in 'you can't convince me otherwise.' Generally the running trend I've noticed in OCW is that a lot of people talk the talk behind the scenes but nobody has the balls to come out and say anything negative. Is it appropriate for me to point out negative shit? Your damn skippy it is. And to answer a few other points: You said my job is to contribute with a character. I submitted a match and an RP for Riot which is 13 days late and I've not heard anything about it being delayed. Leon stop marking for other people's posts and answer my point. And Smythe you say Ryder should STFU because he's trying to offer his experience in helping with our stat system yet Kage coming in here and telling us all "The Gospel According To Nick" is alright? Ryder is trying to help by giving us practical advice on something we can implement. All Kage is doing is running his mouth. http://positivesharing.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/complaining.jpg [23:39] locoNY911: You get solace in the fact you arent a fuck up. 2k9's better than 2k8. Leon Valentine Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 You said my job is to contribute with a character. I submitted a match and an RP for Riot which is 13 days late and I've not heard anything about it being delayed. Leon stop marking for other people's posts and answer my point. Two matches and about three to four rps. I was going to put it up but stuff in the last two weeks have got in my way, which yeah it is my bad. But at the same time after working a long day to get home, i don't really feel motivated spending MY time to put a show together with only two matches and very little rps. Does it suck? Yes it does. Does it suck even more for the people who put work in to get matches done and rps? Yes it does, but the people that did submit content in the long run will be rewarded. We will soon be going into the new era of 2010 and hopefully people will put in the work and take OCW back to where it belongs. So for now Trips just quit your complaining.
Karim TGO Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Leon stop marking for other people's posts and answer my point. That's what annoys me about alot of things here... people mark out for silly posts which they semi agree with, yet make the same complaints. http://www.barcelonareporter.com/img_uploads/Cyber_bullying_2010.png Dane Xavier: Cyber Bullying is not only illegal, it's pathetic. ‘Because I’m so well dressed, people think “He must be gay.
