  1. are you saying that cuz he is black? j/k beating nate in anyway shape or form is a achievement.
  2. nice agree with parker cooper is good with the role play skills
  3. my example was just that AN EXAMPLE you stated 3 posts above you had issues with mace for his connection with bold and his fpr in is DM's. it was a good example to show that we at ocw should not let personal issues sway bookings. it was a fresh example of what i think we had a problem with in the past (a lot of us) and what should not happen again. (if it has not already stopped.) what i said was an example. as i clearly stated EXAMPLE if there was some sort of truth to it, then i no nothing about it. anyway like leon stated he rolled with the punches and the GM's and VFM layed out some ideas and they made it work.
  4. gaines if me pointing out things that someone has openly said is bad then so be it. i stand by the fact that personal bias from anyone should not sway bookings. not anymore. our worst player is better then any random noob online and if you are in a shitty match fpr wise you have the fpr police and get it worked out. people change examples AJ was told he was cheesy that guy made some changes and really proved he was top notch Mayhem will always be aggresive in the ring but he is not like he used to be. Bold at the end of his career in my matches with him was totally fine fpr wise. Mace has some rookie issues but is really a good fpr guy and does well in OCW these people because they made some mistakes once or had a bad rap does not mean they are to be tossed away in the "never book me with them" section and ignored. EXAMPLE * this is only an example of what OCW should not be doing in my eyes * lets say a wrestler named The Scott has the INT title and Jimmy Ace deserves a shot at it, now cuz of a personal bias to Ace (that The Scott had from an experience with him from months ago that The Scott stated openly in public) he gets no title shot or the GM's have to work around this? that is not fair. i am not out to get steve a lot of us in the past (myself included) have had this issue its just time to fix it. thats all. -edited
  5. 100%
  6. wait i hear tears coming from upstate new york let me speak up over the PMS strains i hear coming from the backwoods. anyway. sure i see the threads but they are few and far between and you know it. also my point is GM's should not be swayed by the bias of superstars twoards others superstar. I use steve as the prime example why? well because he is the worst case senerio when it comes to snobbing his nose at wreslters and picking and choosing who he wants to fight. that shit is gay and no one is above anyone else when it comes to doing your matches and booking. example nate would not fight baxter it makes no sense currently as nate is ME and baxter is well low end of the ladder but for example what if baxter was ME and if nate was booked against him then he should fight him no questions asked. thats why steve and mayhem is a great example mayhem may have been MIA but once he comes back he can be ME again and in that case booking steve against mayhem would make perfect sense. But personal bias would prevent that the GM's override personal BIAS IMO. in the end gm's need to communicate more. they should book how they see fit and superstars should not be able to pick and choose who they fight in regular none storyline matches. this is not a after school program this is a league. steve may be non-active and may not do this anymore but the examples i listed are what needs to not happen anymore. and if a gm is told about a storyline it should be the gm's job as well to make sure the other gm's know about it as well thru pm or the booking section.
  7. part of the problem is the gm's are pussies, they get told what to do by ocw superstars instead of booking what the gm's want to see. who the fuck cares if steve refuses to fight mayhem BOOK IT! if it deserves to be booked. who cares if kip wont fight KD BOOK IT! if it deserves to be so. in all honesty if the gm's would pay attention more and actually base their cards on current storylines and what matches may be the most entertaining to watch. instead of catering to what so and so wants and does not want things might be more interesting around here. my view is that GM's are supposed to be aware of current storylines and book cards accordingly. no where in that is they are supposed to do what the superstars tell them IE: Baxter is feuding with OD they outline a feud and give it to the gm's the gm's now canbook around this feud meaning baxter doe snot dictate who he fights, as long as the main match of the fued happens on a ppv. until then baxter can be booked against anyone and then bax and OD will work their feud RP's around it. gm's should be booking the most entertaining matches they can make within the frame of the current storylines. steve fueds with kang over int title, steve can still be booked against mayhem. why not? kang can be booked against smythe ect ect ect... gm's need to start molding the competition as well
  8. Jay deserves a refresher course in FPR.
  9. the competiton was not the uproar the "fair play was" 2 different things. and steve, to quote "the steve" go die in a fire. :)
  10. Here is the issue, OCW is about .. Competition Fair Play Creativity Role Playing No matter what we do in the ring it has to be fair. That being said, no one is really better then anyone else and you should fight who you are booked against not who you choose to fight against. example kip vs mace. now that the feud has started kip should not defend his titile until he fights mace but in the mean time Kip or mace can be booked against anyone leading up to their fight as long as GM's make it work with the storyline and/or kip and mace offer ideas as well. I have seen some people ride a high horse and refuse to work with anyone outside of their own little circle of who they feel is worthy and that has to stop. I used to be guilty of it as well but looking back i should not have acted that way. RD is a great example, that dude would fight anyone and usually spank them. Thats how you need to roll in OCW. This bullshit "he is cheese i dont want to fight him" is crap because for the most part most of OCW is not as bad as certain people make it about to be. our superstars may not be very creative or entertaining but the cheese is not as bad as some make it out to be. Look at my match with bold last year. only 3 people could beat bold, Nate, Kage, and Guy. For all the personal shit with me and bold the dude can hang in the ring and our match was pure competition and followed fpr. We were aggressive, we wanted it and you can tell by watching it. in the end i may have won by bold showed he can hang and one or 2 moves would have gone differently he may have won. what I want to see is people being booked against new people people that have not faced before, or people they may not "choose". This idea that you can coast thru ocw picking your opponents and deciding who you face in the ring every week has to go. Gm's should be booking matches that both follow a the characters storyline but also makes for good matches. Lets face it while smythe is right creativity and rp's do hlep modl the focus of yoru character if every week you only fighting those syou deem worthy its gay. why not see steve vs mayhem? steve a ring tech and a very smart fighter vs mayhem a monster full of aggression and power.. 2 very different styles would and established characters woudl make for a great match.. will we ever see it? not if its up to steve. but why should it be up to steve? shouldn,t the GM's book what they want? a match against mayhem wont destroy Steves feud? of course mayhem has to have some tact and not ruin the feud or inject himself to much either but still i dont see what this match cant happen. it may be an example but that is what we lose out on when people are "choosing"" who they will fight. fuck it you get booked you fight and win or lose you rp to roll with the punches. i may have adapted this outlook a bit late in ocw but better late then never. and a win lose stat tracking is much needed.
  11. 100% agree mayhem. some people here are afraid of the competitve side of OCW. I personally want to see it return. There should be rewards and a sence of pride if you win a lot and you should be able to brag and show off in OCW. If someone is stepping into the ring with a beast they should know it! good post mayhem!
  12. Thats a bold statement from a rookie.
  13. Just to be clear, you are doing exaclty what Bold did, just not in a Asshole"ish" way. Your keeping the attention on the fact that you think someone is an alt. no matter how you do it. Nicely or like a jerk the end result is the same. I have receieved a few AIMs from people about the ALT situation. Some people who feel they are getting called out and others who are not alts getting annoyed and others who agree that this needs to stop. I have taken it upon myself to VOICE this to the Forums that it needs to stop. Jay was man enough to ban bold but again bold is an idiot. Just everyone stop with the alt stuff if someone is a meber of OCW and they are productive and creative and entertaining then thats all that matters. it does not matter if they are a rookie an alt or whatever.
  14. Stop with the ALT Bullshit as this is why Bold got banned .. You wanna be next? All you guys are doing is shinning a light on who you think is an alt. Half the time your wrong. Grow up.
  15. a big cock getting ready to shoot some ropes on their faces.... PWNED!
  16. yeah maybe I am, Maybe I am saying what everyone says but I am saying it outloud. Maybe if you tried to be a better member of OCW instead of fishing for markouts from Bold, you wont play SVR 09 and be a waste of space in an ONLINE FED. Think about it? You are not even worth anything in an online fed? DAMN that's the lowest of the low? So do yourself a favor and do not buy TNA or SVR 09 in hopes of playing it in OCW cuz just like every other year you wont be worth crap and you can save that 60 bucks and get yourself something usefull. like a new jesus piece to match your fubu outfit.
  17. Yeah well then lets look at the people you may look up to in OCW have they done it? Has Nate done it? Guy? Versus? Me? you wanna be annoyed that Mayhem did it to you back in his roid days but then you support it when Bold does it. Grow up. Take example of guys like smythe or kang or aries. guys who have been here far less then you or Bold yet have a way better grasps of how to act on the boards.
  18. Bold in case you do not get it yet, i'll spell it out for your dumbass. EVERYONE IN STAFF THINKS WHAT YOUR DOING IS DUMB AND ASSHOLE-ISH HOW YOU POST WITH YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT CHARACTERS AND YOUR INSIDE JOKES. No one thinks its funny and if impressing Val is what makes you giggle then your even more of a retard then I thought. Back in the day no one did what your doing and it has been said time and time again that what your doing is disrespectfull and childish. Yet that meat-head of yours prevents you from stopping. Then you wonder why you where never as good as others in OCW or respected liked you had hoped. It's cuz of stupid shit like this. and for thoses that marked out for it your just as big of a waste as you think everyone thinks you are. Yes VAL your an idiot and a waste.
  19. i agree, in comparison the other perks are way more powerfull. and the most overpowered perk is allready banned (dirty and showman being able to do a finsiher at anytime) so while you have a vaild point bold it is not as you say "cheeseball". here bold this is for you. http://mormonmatters.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/crybaby.jpg ass-kicker of the year no, crybaby of the year INDEED!
  20. i do think you bring up a valid point as no other class/perk can attempt 2 finsihers. but your adrian bold that shouldn't matter you can beat anyone right? oh and BTW for someone who talks as much smack as you do, this crying really shows your true colors. edit: i stand corrected, showman can attempt 2 finsihers! so id say bring it up to FPR and have them discuss it.
  21. KOOCW was your chance to change that. you just aint up to the task.
  22. To soon
  23. first... (kinda) just dropping in saying good luck with the draft.
  24. Well that is it, it's over. Nick Kage is done. I remember starting in OCW and thinking to myself once I achieve certain goals I'll hang up my virtual boots. I was unaware 2007 would be the year that I reached so many of my goals. As a character Nick Kage had done so much that I was starting to get the feeling that the road to retirement needed to start to take place. I knew from the start if I wanted to end it would be at the hands of Versus or Nate. They deserved it and I trusted them. Things flowed with Nate so well we talked about the career vs. career match. He was open and willing to put it all on the line seeing as him and I had both reached a certain point if either one of us left we would feel satisfied in our time in OCW. After Nate and I both won against each other over the past 2 months it was the perfect setup for this type of match. So with that we went for it. Sure if I won I would have worked out something to eventually hang up the boots but Nate beat me and in doing so we wanted to come up with something nice and epic for a final match. I'll come back to this. I found OCW just by googling SVR feds. I joined and quickly started playing with Nate alot. Nick Kage was based off of myself with the volume turned up. Seems it worked out well. It's funny but when I think its been like 3 years (give or take a few months) and OCW has connected me with people i talk to almost every day. Versus sent me a Xmas card. These are good people, funny people, people I enjoy talking to OCW is much more than a league. It truly is a family. I give alot of credit to Jay he has created something that is bigger than just a website and he has tried thru all his rage to deal with the spectrum of people it has in it From adults to teens, college kids, high school, and working class. Jay has really tried and he has done a great job in making this place a community. I really wish THQ or Midway would come here and implement OCW into their games. Pay Jay to run the site and incorporate it into the games like 2k did with their online leagues. OCW is the only reason I bought SVR and it’s the only reason I played SVR without OCW I would save 60 bucks. (Thanks Jay! You owe me 180 bucks!) I have at times been a dick. We all have (except Nate maybe.) but it’s the internet the e-pen is sometimes mightier then the keyboard (or so you may think) often times it genuinely came from a good place, it came from wanting to keep OCW safe from assholes and cheesers. I wanted OCW to be fun and raw but to stay in line with a general good vibe. Many can remember my heated threads with Bold when he would mention my wife. I always felt family and serious health or personal issues should never be brought up in OCW. Things have changed and to be honest Bold is probably one of the funniest guys on the forums as long as he doesnt cross that line he cracks me up. But I wanted to keep OCW at a level that was above the other gutter feds out there. Alot of us did and the work that people like Nate and Guy and Jay and Majin and Geo and the GM's both Vimes and Regan put into OCW is amazing. They are the backbone of this place and they deserve your respect they truly do. The inner circle joke always amazed me. OCW allowed people to have internet buddies and sometimes it was more than SVR that people did online. A group of guys would get on skype and play dm's or watch raw or chat and to be honest there was an inner circle, there was a few. Cross and Bold could have been considered an inner circle team extreme an inner circle. Hell even today you could say the guys who were playing GTA were an inner circle. The inner circle was just people hanging out outside of the OCW forums in games or RAW or streaming PPV's. The inner circle was a joke and it had nothing to do with the outcome of matches in OCW. A joke in which we all like to string along and have fun with but in reality people rise to the top with hard work in OCW not backdoor politics. The path to getting to the top is a combo of a few things. You need to be creative and you need to have ideas for storylines. You also need to win matches. If you can these things then the sky is the limit. I mean, listen in the main event circle I was 50-50 I could beat top guys and they could beat me. So even if I lost a match my role-plays and creativity would keep me interesting and in at the top of the pack. OCW is more than a league, you are being judged on your creativity by your peers. That is a big thing if you think about it. Taking it seriously to an extent is a good thing; Creativity is always a good thing. Reinventing yourself is also key I had mutton chops for a while and I did not just change myself whenever I wanted. I waited for a key storyline moment or a time when the change made sense. I changed myself 3 times in OCW and each time people seemed to enjoy it. We all watch wrestling and all know what works and what does not so use that and apply it to your character and you will see the difference. The people here are great from Val to Nate to Majin to Regan each serves a purpose. As much as we tell Val to shut up or as much as Heaton will try to rick roll you or as much as Bold will crack a joke at the worst time or as much as Cross will push death row in your face (LOL) OCW would not be OCW without them. But never forget why you came here, you came here to get away from the cheese of random people online, to be creative and achieve that goal of being a wrestler. When I got here FPR was still kind of new and not applied as much as many would like. I would like to think I was a key factor in FPR getting to where it is. I do however think we have too many rules and the only way to stop this is to get everyone on the same page ethically. The last thing I want is for there to be so many rules that every match feels the same and everyone is so scared to do anything in fear of breaking rules that won’t be good for OCW. The more we all get on the same page ethically the more we can loosen the grip on rules. I really believe we can do that if we all get the idea that we have to win to get over out of our heads as the only reason to make it in OCW. Winning helps but its more about people wanting to play with you and being creative and being good at SVR that will get you farther then all your wins combined. Look at Steve Jones and look at Bold. (I had to use you guys) Steve can’t win the big match yet but he has good angles and good storylines and a good character and he gets over cuz of that. People will work with him and people enjoy playing him. Steve came from the idea that winning isn’t all and that he loves the creative side of OCW. Bold on the other hand is good at the game, he is creative and has good storylines but he has a bad rap for still having that feel of playing a random. I assume this comes from the wanting to win more than anything side of Bolds history. Bold has come leaps and bounds since he got here but you can see what happens if no one wants to work with you or they think you only care about the win. Bold is a Champ yet he has nothing as far as a feud happening at the moment. Following ethics and FPR and being easy and cool to work with and wanting to win but not making it your #1 goal will get you so far it’s crazy. Not getting desperate in matches and letting the situation dictate your FPR is bad. No matter the situation or gimmick match Follow FPR and Have ethics. It will take you to the top! At this point I'm so happy with what Nick Kage did in OCW he pushed the limits he won he lost he feuded he was in a faction he backstabbed he cheated he lied he dressed up as a president and a fake Nate. He was caged and scared he won title after title and he was involved in controversy. He did it all and I feel good in stopping now. I can look back at my gaming skill and I can say I was somewhat consistent but I am no Nate. I had my fair share of getting owned trust me. I have also Owned as well and I think that is what makes me feel good. I was not unstoppable and I am glad I wasn't losing made my character better. It made me think on my feet and re-adjust what to do or say in a situation. It built my character. When I knew I was the one who was going to leave at Damnation some ideas came up as to how to make it work. I originally wanted a straight up match but in talking to some people the idea of the run-in’s and the chaos just made more sense. As I thought how I would edit it together I could see it play out like a match in a real PPV. I wanted that. I was a big goal to reach but I wanted it. Smythe and VS and Nate helped with the recording and it took about 3-4 days of editing and tweaks to get it done. Smythe helped alot with ideas and so did Nate and in the end what Smythe said in the Damnation thread was exactly what we wanted. Nate was going over he was ending my career if that is not going over I do not know what is. I thought of great matches like Austin/Hart when Austin passed out and lost. I thought of the story between me and VS and Nate and I wanted to put VS over as well in this match. Allowing Vs to take me out and turn on Nate was the only way to do it. If VS left me alone it would make no sense. I was a brother to him and I turned on him he will never forget that. So he takes me out turns on Nate he lets his intentions be known as well as letting fate now decide who leaves and who stays. The match was meant to be hectic Smtyhe is there for Kage even if Kage doesn’t want his help. Guy really proves he is not out to screw Nate. But our careers mean more than any title and even after all this the battle rages on. I know Brad expressed his opinion on the ending. I’m sure if someone said what he said about one of his matches he would explode but I stand by the ending. I would not tap I would rather pass out then give in to Nate when it’s all on the line. So what does Nate do? He forces the outcome he makes me pass out. He overcame a huge obstacle and won. That is how Nate got over I pushed it I said you have to kill me to win and Nate answered the call. I'm very happy with it, the edit job working with Smythe, Nate, and VS and really making something we have not seen before in OCW, I’m happy and proud of it. The future can be so bright for OCW there are some awesome guys in here and they can really do some great things. A-mart, Kang, Mace, Vin, Poe, and others can really be something great if they put in the effort. I watched Smythe grow from a loud mouth rookie to a Main Event star and the guy deserves it. I have seen Kang and A-mart play all night getting good. It’s great to see but I hope they push it and really have a goal and follow thru with it. I had my time in the spotlight and it's time for someone else to step in. We built OCW all of us and it’s a special thing you are a part of. Enjoy it and remember what you do in OCW speaks volumes to the other people in OCW. As far as Nick Kage goes, well he is done I did all I could with him. Does that mean I will be back in some form? That Depends, I want to see what SVR 09 is like or TNA that will be a big factor on if I come back. I will be busy this summer working freelance on some movies for sci-fi and some cartoon animation for some extra cash along with my gig at Blizzard. I want to buy a house in Cali and that won’t be cheap. So I need to do work on my free time. I’ll be around though always here for issues or questions but I think FPR with Nate, Steve, Smythe, and Tyro is in really good shape. Un-bias and fair these guys get what OCW is about. Thanks to everyone I will name some names but really all of you played a part in Nick Kage’s success. Jay, Nate, Versus, Sideshow, Majin, Guy, Steve, Smythe, Mayhem, Blade, AJ, RD, BB, AA, and so on and so on. Keep OCW alive it is worth it.
