I've actually been doing a few revisions in booking for the existing system, and I've put some thought into an alternate system as well, but as of now, the system in the first post of the thread is our system until further notice(This is actually why I don't push hard numbers in public until their official, I remember a few months ago people were taking theories and spitballing as law and that annoyed the shit out of me.) My three ideas I think are most important statwise: 1) No Auto-Grapple Reverses. Which means Tech is capped at 75. 2) If we have infinite kickouts, Charisma should be high so you can get finishers quicker so matches can be attempted to end quicker. 3) Likewise, infinite kickouts= strong restrictions on Submission finishers so they don't become an epidemic like they were. Generic Weight 'Classes': Super Heavyweight GRPL: 80 STR: 80 DUR: 75 TEC: 75 SUB: 75 SPD: 70 CHA: 80 Heavyweight GRPL: 75 STR: 75 DUR: 75 TEC: 75 SUB: 75 SPD: 75 CHA: 80 Light Heavyweight GRPL: 70 STR: 70 DUR: 75 TEC: 75 SUB: 75 SPD: 80 CHA: 80 Cruiserweight GRPL: 65 STR: 65 DUR: 75 TEC: 75 SUB: 75 SPD: 85 CHA: 80 Submission Enables the use of Submission Finishers. Apply these modifiers to your existing stats. GRPL: -5 STR: -5 TEC:-5 SUB: +10 CHA: -5

Shut the fuck up rookie. Don't need to prefix everything with stupid rookie. All opinions are valued. Except Hazard's and Dane's. Fuck them.
-
Assigning classes just won't work for newer people. Gimmick changes also can switch classes. Say I wanted to do a SUPER SERIOUS COMPETITOR GIMMICK(I'm not), Showman wouldn't work anymore. Or Guy on roids. Weight Class classes could work. But it'd essentially be the same system we have now but just only four choices(and as the status is now, side choices for Submission classes). It'd be trying to balance them against eachother still. 80+ tech is out of the question as I really think that perk drove people to the tech class alongside the Sub use. If it was still there, we'd see a huge swarth of people going tech. It's really too strong as a perk unless it got the Submisison scarlet letter of nerfs to go along with it. I really feel you shouldn't be punished for going on the offensive - if you get reversed you should have the ability to reverse back.
-
Actually I preferred it myself when finisher=death. But I'm not FPR, I fiddle with these numbers and try to make them fair in relation to FPR. If we went to an injured finisher=death rule, the numbers would be more generous for Stretcher/Sub and even to the point where Tech/Shooter/Showman could use submission finishers again since they wouldn't be any big deal, since you're fucked any way you cut it. But as is, Submissions are VERY powerful so hence why I have to oppress them like Ryder's hero.
-
Would say get some testing on weight class damage before jumping to that. Spam one move and see if one gets injured quicker? I dunno. I can buy THQ doing that because THQ is stupid. THQ is always stupid. Rather than different versions I would just make it so SHVYs can only be Monster or Giant. Giant actually is kinda weak vs. it, losing on power and speed and winning in the questionable charisma. So I dunno. Actually putting more thought into it there should be a 'light' submission class with the same restrictions. Much like Stretcher was originally aimed at Morrison, taking aim at the likes of Ryder and Baxter isn't out of the question, although I still want them to have lower Tec/Str/etc. than equivilent classes of that weight level cause Sub finishers are still loaded at the end of the day. It would have a Quick-Medium-Heavy progression with speeds of 70/75/80. Don't want to make it shooter cause I think trading power vs. speed makes Technical vs. Shooter a decent trade off. The fun of names always comes up. To the book of synonyms! Capitualationist!...no? Not catchy enough. If the speed is returned, SHVYs cap at 70 speed. The standard heavyweight speed was 75 with Showman having an edge of 80. Shooter has 80, Flyer leads with 85.
-
Having second thoughts about Sub/Stretch speed actually. I may move them back up. Not quite 100% sure yet though. 75 speed was a decent standard. This is why nothing is in stone. :)
-
Overall is a terrible number to base anything on since it assumes all stats are equal. They are not. Stretcher/Submission got reduced the exact same amount. It's not the the man holding you down. It's the 95% win rate of Submission finishers.
-
If this is true, I may actually be for boosting Charisma up for everyone. Would require damage to use a finisher to prevent people from popping finishers left and right or something.(Something I think should be anyway cause Finisher 5 moves into the match is usually pretty stupid) But gonna see more evidence and such as times goes on. Nothing's in stone.
-
I agree with this. I was face for like three years straight. Can't someone else do it, dagnabbit? Stop making me turn face. My character doesn't work as a face. I hate everyone. It's a principle nature to the character. :(
-
Also, if Showman does end up being overpowered with the tweaks, I'll be quick to get it nerfed. They're basically what Generalist was with extra Charisma, which from what I've seen, doesn't do much. Of course, since we don't know everything about it's engine, there might be some stupid little perk that opens up at 90 charisma we don't know about yet, so bleh. We are essentially balancing around something we can only decipher through anectdotal evidence and imperfect tests.

Flair is out and out a Showman. His whole gag in the prime of his career was that anyone could outwrestle him, but he only got by on cunning and interference from the Horsemen. This made people despise him and made him more hated as a heel, and he played it up perfectly. Most technical thing he did was the Figure Four leglock and he rarely won with the damned thing. So is Miz. A lot of people could fall into two-classes, but their Charisma is what Miz and Flair play up the most. The fact that their style is leans in that way, you could call Hogan a brawler/power or Rock a technical/brawler. A 'heel' Showman is someone who oozes Charisma and uses it to be a complete and utter hateable prick. Me and Smythe were the examples because I really don't think we fit into anything else. You could argue Guy as Tech, or Smythe as Power, but truth of the matter is, Guy & Smythe's personalities are the most trumpeting thing about them, and neither of us really fight in such a way where those secondary traits would trump the Charisma.
-
It got nerfed by all-tech nerf and nerfed further on top of that. So yes, they lost 15 tech.
-
Nothing is getting patched. And you put my text in blue. Lay off the WoW.

*ahem*.

Reverse hovering is grappling/attacking someone as you recover as they're trying to not attack you(which would be hovering over you), not moonwalking. It's basically saying don't exploit the no-hover grace of your opponent letting you get up to attack them.
-
We're all just reinforcing his decision to get the fuck out of here.

The entrance vid I DL'd Fearo didn't work. Gave my video editing programs errors. :( I was lazy and last minute and that's what happened. No one expects the Faustocanrana.

Tyler ban was lifted because it made grappling too safe and broke the flow of matches. I'm not exactly sold on Finisher=Death either. I just brainstorm solutions. I've been meaning to propose a rewrite of FPR - part of which is Mayhem's annoyance at pick up spam, which was somehow excluded in the current wording. Mayhem, headbutt is panned because none of the diving headbutts in this year's game look all that impactful. This is part of the problem of the free reign, as some of the moves look really subjective in strength and power of animation. Another aspect of the kickout game is tech still plays a role. I don't know how much, and this might empower tech more than I've previously valued. It's been brought to my attention that some people are favoring high-tech classes just to make themselves harder to pin.

This is a problem with the current state of 2011/2010. If we make it all about a finisher, and finishers are death, people shift towards easy to hit finishers and the drama is gone. Kickouts were rare in old games but when they did happen it was OH FUCK HOLY SHIT. We gave people free reign on pinning off normal moves, and we get crappy endings cause not everyone is wise to it all. Making it about the finisher and making finishers death may be where we need to go. My beef with that, is the match becomes a finisher race then. Which is also lame, and we have a lot of matches where people simply won't get finishers and fight forever without an advantage. My current train of thought for the rule is this, although I find it flawed cause it's still a 'finisher race': You can win with Sigs and Finishers. 1) When hit with a sig, you're allowed to try to kick out. 2) When hit with a finisher, you're done. I don't particularly like it, but goddamn this is a lot of bullshit and we're full of unethical types. We tried relative freedom and looks like we're going to have to reign it in. I would prefer the match be about the ability to end the match instead of the ability to kick out of EVERYTHING. a Finisher=Death rule also has the edge of killing the impact of a Submission finisher. In this case, I think I would ban Signatures from being Sub moves. It's just the matter of those eternal matches where no one gets momentum... An added note: This is why the DRR rule was awesome. Was less a finisher race(although those games were finisher=death), it made it about who could control the match and dominate it enough, and it was about reversal skill. Main weakness it was predictable, but in 90% of cases, the better player won.

No. With great power to make people call themselves fags, comes great responsibility in making people call themselves fags. Hazard piped up and tried to act like he was too cool for all this, posting on a website where we pretend to be wrestlers and write fanfiction about them. For that, he was fagged. Trevor pointed out the surge in views is not related to the show, but rather the insanity of Thanatos/Fearo. He did not find it amusing. I did. I also prefer random insanity to another 20 pages of OCW Mean Girls.
-
TAKE 2...goddamn it I closed the window. Poe beat me to it, but here's my attempt in righting the thread after we legally proved Hazard is a fag. The show starts off with the arrival of Hoodie asshole. He's an asshole because everyone in a hoodie is an asshole. KD starts off the darkside vowing never again and vengeance blah blah. KD needs to learn to just roll with his losses. Every time he loses, he treats it like a career turning point. Last week's loss even so, it came off as a kind of a fluke win for Trance, pulling it out by being sneaky rather than dominating two people. The Darkside says they are the hottest and most unstoppable faction in OCW. They are completely correct. They have achieved this by being the only faction in OCW. Leon(who I wish cancer upon) returns once more from his multiple cell falls and beat downs because the emo hair gel he uses has seeped through to his brain and destroyed his common sense center. The Doomsday Theory, with the massive egos involved, suddenly really fucking hate eachother. I wonder why. O'Malley and Trance for 4 or 5 minutes put on a good example of what I hope 2011 matches will be. Fast paced with little down time, very counter driven fighting. What I hated most about matches for awhile now is the down time where you wait for your opponent to rise. That never happens in WWE matches and it really kills the flow for me. Unfortunately this flying contest is severed cause I'm a dick and decide I hate skinny Irish people. It's not really meant to be a heel turn unlike what Poe said. At this point with Guy's character, I kind of view his alignment as flexible. Taking a cue from Eddie Guerrero and Edge, in that he's a manic depressive cynical bastard. It's all on who he's pointed at. It's more of the next step in character development, just less drastic than being a hobo. Lucas Crowe returns and does a fine job of reminding us of who he is and what he has accomplished in the past. It brings you up to speed if you weren't paying attention in the 2007/2008 season of OCW. Although referring to his lifestyle as alternative made me think he's going to join Baxter and D'Jack under the banner of the Vampirates. Also I realize it's probably because Crowe doesn't have a PS2 anymore, but I would have marked for 2006 Crowe or Fire Pro Crowe. I can't watch Dylan vs. Le'tuce due to lack of a download link. Judas Hallows also hails from North Dakota, violating my gimmick of 'hailing from bumfuck, nowhere'. They set up their match for later tonight along with the seeds of a future rivalry. Hallows, son of OCW UltraMegaSuper Legend Bad Ass Bill, implies Bill is also from North Dakota. I should reconsider my residence because...uhh...I'm not worthy. Yeah, that's the ticket. I'm a dick to Dylan because I'm a dick and thought it'd be entertaining at the time. Surely, no one is ever going to think about trying to pay me back for run by cutters, right? Thought so. I notice Baxter doesn't enter with the TV title. May be due to his lack of recording capabilities, but he ought to ask someone to record an into for him to use in these cases. The Darkside does have these whole unity thing through sharing theme music, gives them a real unifying purpose outside just being black and full of themselves. Anyone else annoyed that the Van Daminator is the only chair grapple this year? Baxter almost hits an awesome springboard bulldog onto the chair spot, but it is forever lost to the annals of 'almost badass'. This should have been an extreme rules match if they wanted to go heavy weapons use. It really should be considered the default 'hardcore' match unless we want to use the falls count anywhere option. Baxter seems averse to trying for the win outside his sig and fin. With KD trying to run interference, he should have went for more quick pins. He had plenty of moves that looked 'brutal' enough. The chair never wants to be in the right place for Baxter. It hates him so. I really don't like that you can reverse simple covers this year. Kinda stupid. Baxter had this match won many times and should have used manager rules against him - which reminds me they should be in the FAQ somewhere. Judas Hallows is taking too many roids to be a light heavy, he really needs to slim down a bit to fit his weight class. A fairly quickly paced match, but their never seemed to be any doubt to the victor. I like that matches seem to average about 10 minutes. You could YouTube some of this. This got turned to a managers match which meant I hate Fisheye view on matches. Outside that, it looks to be another decent bout. Smythe should turn off the names floating over people's heads. it's kinda distracting. On other UI bitching, turn on counts too. It looks stupid with them off. People might be be muting the video because your taste in music is awful. Leon(who should die of AIDS) challenges Darkside to a 3 on 3. He has no friends. Hopefully he'll kill Smythe as Jookie and KD kill him. KD was suppose to fight Trevor, who announces he wants the OCW Championship again. Unfortunately, Crowe says hello. O'Malley takes a broken neck pretty well, well enough to be kicked down to Ambition. That's right, when I kick someones ass, I kick their ass so bad they get demoted. Hazard vs. Hostile was way too fucking long. We allowed pins at any time for a reason because no one wants to see a 20 minute match unless they tell a story with it, even if that story is nonstop reversals. Not an endless chain of spots for the sake of spots. Hazard is a fucktard fag, but his CAW actually looks okay and his moveset is not atrocious. There, I said something nice about Hazard. But he's still a fag. A commentary gaff, I usually do it as the card is laid out. Guy shouldn't be there at that point, but he's there for that match because I thought it'd be the opener. Guy at this point is wandering around cuttering people out of boredom, not making omniracial rapist jokes. Gaines-Pac defends against the worst dresser in OCW history. It's a contrast because even in what's suppose to be a quicker paced 2010 match, it still seems slower than 2011. I originally said Gaines-Pac as a joke, but he actually comes off as X-Pac in a lot of ways. It's not entirely a bad thing, X-Pac used to be a good wresltler sometime ago. Jackson, driving Mayhem to DQ himself, dominates the match and adds the EX title to his long list of titles in other feds no one gives a damn about. I'm not convinced it'll be a long reign, or an eventful one, as Jackson at best seems to come off as benign. Leon(who should take a long walk off a short pier) is fired. Again. See? I told you he had no friends. Everyone hates Leon. The Main event told me a few things. I didn't particularly like the escape. Superheavyweights still seem too slow as everything Mayhem did seemed a bit too obvious, but Mayhem's approach may not be the best. Also, Dane continues to prove he's a fucktard for being technical when his entire moveset is power moves. Spinebusters, argentine backbreakers, powerbombs are not the moves of a technician.
-
I thought Dane was the one on trial here. But, as the verdict has been handed down... the sentence is Hazard is a fag.
