What a fantastic show. I came in for Lution Season, but Consequence came for me to show me that it wasn't just a fluke.

Holy SHIT, the first match alone was main-event quality anywhere else. John Carter had a lot of heat coming into the match, for sure, and a former LHW champ and one of the top talents in the company being in the match against him, and only having to pin *him* once to win was a tall enough order for the Italian Stallion, but that man not only won, but won in DOMINANT fashion. He obliterated the competition and showed us all that what he did to Doc was no fluke- John Carter is your LHW champion not because of a 'cheap submission', but on his own skill and merits. Still, no fault to the other guys in the match, ESPECIALLY A.C. Cobra. That man has the heart of a warrior, if these past couple of shows haven't clued you in yet.

The ending of Parca / Reese was oddly unsatisfying. It reminds me a lot of, and I hate referencing real wrestling here, but bear with me, it reminds me a lot of AJ vs Nakamura in WWE, with a great match with awesome natural storytelling being cut off by a low blow. I doubt the story is over, as I'd hardly say that Mark Reese got any closure from this match, but time is gonna have to tell what lays in store for Lucha Country.

I didn't enjoy Solomon vs. H20. I don't enjoy H20 as a character, but I can respect that he can do it on the sticks...this just felt like an ass-whupping where Caine occasionally mounted a comeback, only to get shot down. It wasn't fun to watch at all. No dig on either of the guys in the match, though, they're both great, and I hope H20 does something with this momentum. As for Salami, well... damn. See you down the road, Nick.

Danny-Nate, meanwhile, was perfect. Danny's a killer, and he put up a hell of a fight. Kinda put off by Nate kicking out of the Act Of Violence at 1 when he had Resil. I get that you're a legend and you can do what you want, it just felt extremely disrespectful to me. I know Theo didn't mean that sort of disrespect though, he's a swell guy.

BOBBY FUCKING MINIO! I was worried when I saw KD get squashed, but after being pointed his way shortly after eating an L to CG in my debut, I fell in love with the character of Bobby, and I'm so glad to see him saddling up again! And i'm a sucker for Run The Jewels at all times (yo Bobby, if you're reading this, JU$T is a banger and i'd mark huge for it ;) )

JAAAANE, YOU SAY IT'S ALL OVAH-fucking love Cort man. What a legend, I love him. Dane, love him or hate him, is OBSESSED with telling the best story possible through the limitations of 2k19's engine, and for that purpose, you could give him no better dance partner than Cort. These two knocked it out of the park as far as realism and believability goes, and as much as I'd have loved DDE taking home double dubs, this was a bomb-ass match. Bravo to both guys.

Love that attire on Parker, great reference and an even better look for a fucking scumbag. Really, both guys rocked great low-key, not overly-gaudy attires. The match itself was just fine too. An ass-whupping, but an entertaining one. Not gonna lie, feel weird about Parca instantly inserting himself into the title picture after the Reese match, but I think Parca's more than earned the equity for a go at the gold, and I don't see many other challengers besides Danny should he properly break off of Dominion.

Holy SHIT the drip on the two women in the main event. Leave it to Jake and Emp to incorporate their storytelling to such an extent that both Emp and Terra show up to their match physically WOUNDED, and the SHAVED EMP LOOK! I was literally just mentioning how much i missed it, and look who shows up to Conq! Good shit, good fucking shit, and that's not even getting into the match. What was there to expect? I'm not gonna lie, I was expecting Terra to win and send Emp riding off into the sunset, but... what now? Who's left to fight? What hill is there to conquer? What dragon is left to slay-

Oh.

Oh, SHIT.

Cide is gonna be GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

I'll post again tomorrow after work! I'm a bit tuckered out, but i'll be getting into the writing and other promo content then! Thanks, everyone, for all that you've given us! Another hard night's work in the bag.

Also, hey, I made it on a poster! :D

Very good show. I do think that the show didn't potentially live up to the promise of the card with some repetitive bits happening, but that's about 90% due to the nature of the site more than anyone's mistakes, people are gonna get the same ideas about finishes, comp is gonna comp, etc, so yeah, I really enjoyed it overall. I do have two concerns regarding the non-finishes, so I'll get the stuff I wasn't convinced by out of the way before I gush about the really good stuff.

Parca and Reese

Going into this match, it could've gone any way, and while I respect that the ball punch happened, I'm not convinced it did more for the match. I think with the stage we were at in the match, if Parca would've held on and pulled out the win, that would've been a huge moment, it would've strengthened his claim to Tony's title, and it wouldn't have hurt Reese. However, if Reese had continued his dominance and beat Parca, that would have been a huge moment for him. I have total, utter faith in both these guys as writers, though. It looked like Parca was saying this feud had so much more in it, and I believe that, I could see this leading to Reese vs Parca for the world title in future, or, at the very least, a huge, definitive feud ender at a big show once the next game rolls around.

My main concern there, is that there are so many moving parts. While I know these guys will tell a hell of a story, anything can happen here, so dragging it out puts it at unnecessary risk when we're currently not sure of how the new game will be, and how much it will shake up the card, I wanna see some new main eventers stomping up there in the next few months. These guys do great stories, though, and I just hope that their hard work isn't affected by things that we can't predict when the payoff was theirs for the taking here.

Nate vs Watts

I'll preface this by saying this; Prove me wrong. I would love for this whole Dominion arc to knock my socks off, as it's constantly threatening to, it's had some shining moments, and with the aftermath of Nate/Rust in this match, it got there, I was right back in there. What I will say, is with this DQ finish, I feel that maybe Nate was being very generous protecting Danny from the clean loss. With how results have fallen in the last few months, I think the Danny Watts character has had so many opportunities to react to what is going on in OCW, really get into the character's headspace, tell us who he is, how he's feeling, and what's changed, and I don't think those opportunities have been taken as much as they could have been. We've only really seen childish anger from him so far, which, while I like that angle, him being a large, violent guy in the ring who is surrounded by more dominant figures, I wanna see motives, I wanna see how he feels about more stuff. I feel like a clean loss would not have hurt him, and I feel like if he's still not feeling 100% confident in his writing, he'd have an easier time with a simple 'I lost and need to get my mojo back story' than he'd have with the more nuanced Dominion stuff, particularly with Nate being the commanding presence that he is. With Nate, you cannot take your foot off the pedal when you're writing with him. I wanna see all members of Dominion talking, writing, doing stuff, particularly if Nate's authority is becoming more questionable with each beat of the story.

Weeeell... Well it's the best stuff dudu dudu

Well fuck me if Cort vs Dane wasn't one of the best matches I've seen in ages. I remember when I first came in here, Parca/Aisu was held as the kind of 'gold standard' OCW match that you must watch, and with the new patch notes and stuff, I think we've found a new one. Cort's sloppiness towards the end with that major not ending the match got a lot of attention, but I feel this match required a different headspace. Not so much 'Are they doing the right thing on the sticks', and more 'what's this character doing'. I vaguely remember Jay saying that he booked Consequence based on what matches he wants to see and knows will be good, and I imagine that's why some feuds made this show and other's didn't, and I think this match is the best example of that idea taking full form. Amazing, amazing match. It's got me side-eyeing my Xbox and mashing stock checkers on the Series X to fight Cort in the future. I don't have enough words to say about this, bloody brilliant.

Emp becomes the main character of Consequences.

As a full package, Emp stole the show for me. Her RP with Ashley was excellent, I think this show had the best P3 segment I've read so far, and Emp vs Terra lived up to all of my expectations. Not only that, she had the best retirement of the night, and that was kind of bittersweet, as everyone else retired previously, but it says it all about Emp's character, and how well liked she is here, that even with everyone and their mum announcing their retirement here, hers still stood out. Brilliant.

Valk promising to return and the Marisa/Valk story

I'm 100% sold on Marisa/Valk. Marisa and Valk both do a great job with their videos, but, I'm a writing guy through and through, I've gotta see werds bruh to seal the deal after I get interested in the visual stuff, and Valk's promo showed why this feud works. It's got everything, the videos that keep things immediately present, and the written work that lets you get a deeper dive into the character's heads. I love this, I want every feud to be this, it's amazing. Valkyrie usually has so much production surrounding her, and so much character, that seeing her break things down into 'we're gonna hurt each other' has a huge impact, and I'm excited for their match, but, more than anything, I'm excited to see what the characters do following that match. Marisa has a lot on her plate, with Asher not being too happy as well, so I think we're gonna get some top storytelling here, I love it.

Tony vs Parker

This match could not have been scripted better. After beating B17, Tony didn't just need a win to solidify his rein, he needed the. Maybe not one against someone on his level, but an absolute murder that shows that he is head and shoulders above a lot of people here. I watched this match with my mouth open, going 'stop he's already dead', and to have Parker that beaten, and Parker losing because of his beaten his body was, rather than because he took a huge move... Yeah, just... Christ. People always say not everything needs to be a million stars in the Tokyo Dome, and this sort of match is what they mean, the story is clear, the dynamic is there, it's why I love this place, genuinely. Give me Tony leveling up and being the new B17, it'll be so good. Also 'They should call him Daddy Long Legs, but I'm not here to argue' was a great commentary bit.

Caine vs H20

I really like Caine, he's a great character, great guy to work with, and still one of the hardest fights I've had here, so seeing him beaten so throughly, followed by his retirement, followed by the ball punch, this was a sad time for me. Caine held on as long as he could in this match, and while it wasn't exactly a back and forth affair, but Caine kept threatening to come back into the match, it stayed engaging, and the ending sequence was smooth as hell with H20's running finisher. H20 also had some pretty decent promos on the show, so I'm looking forward to seeing him come in as a bigger presence now he's building his momentum back, there are a load of matches I'd love to see.

Overall thoughts

Yeah, great show. Some good RP work all around, special mentions go to Val's thing, as while I have no clue what her character is right now, she's moving in the right directions, and if she can stick to it, she could be very good. Maxx's videos are always a treat, Archer's big promo was a highlight, and I'm enjoying what DDE are doing right now. I really enjoyed Cort and Jehst's promo too, genuinely, read the show, I think the writing was tight, very little outstayed its welcome, and it's the most digestible show I've read in a while because of it. Amazing work, everyone.

Going to work later than I thought, so, it's promo time.

I said I didn't get H20's character. I still don't, but I like how his promo acknowledged that he's going a bit extrajudicial in his actions. It seems like Tibby's cool with it, so... I guess H20's a face? Cool! Look forward to seeing more.

Telos and Colby fight should have ended with Jordan peeking in. I think it stretched on just a LITTLE too long, but it wasn't a terrible segment leading up to it. I really dig Colby's new look. Man looks even beefier and more menacing than usual.

Drip Drip Enterprises! I don't normally comment on my own stuff but I was kind of the smallest thing in this so I don't mind saying something. Jake, Jordan, and Dane are a joy to write with, and it's always a great thing to have writers you vibe with OOC working with you, because you just GET IT. You get what the other guys are thinking, you get in a flow state, and the words just happen. Stonks rising boys, buy in, buy in, buy in.

Reese's promo was short, sweet, and to the point, and even if it's most definitely unintentional, I liked that a 'season' thing was in both the DDE and Reese promo's. I just wish he'd said 'Slammin' Season' instead of fighting season.

I've seen very little of Anthony Baker, but his look and attitude has grown on me a lot. I gotta go watch some tape and see what he's all about. Welcome back, man.

Gasp! Chris Greene content! And it's great!!! This is what I came to see!!! Who's the mystery assailant? I wanna shake their hand.

I genuinely don't get P3 as much as other people seem to, but I'm trying, and this segment helped a lot with that. FUCKING HILARIOUS. Young Ryan reportedly on suicide watch.

I've seen a couple of segments on other shows where Evelyn's training women in the combat center, and I wasn't surprised at first that Parker maybe thought about quietly making her a 'rookie showcase' wrestler and focusing his efforts on Elliot and Alyssa, but it appears that she's got one last big match left in the tank with Morgan Blackheart. House of Faith's back! Looking forward to seeing what Joanna and Morgan can put together.

Val the villain! I'm liking her creepy angle here, but I hope this isn't like the Valcano thing where it's there, then it's gone. I think this can really land and stick like glue if you keep on it, so my advice to you, Val, is to stick with it. People want to see you, and this gimmick has them interested. Keep this energy.

Justice Inc LLC feels like something that was cobbled together b/c Jae made the joke before, and if anyone else were involved, I feel like it'd just have fallen flat, but all of these guys just... they've made it work. Adding in Jordan playing the trombone to their theme was just icing on the fucking cake, and I, for one, enjoyed Inebriated Judge throwing cereal at the crowd. I feel like he might be having a VERY LONG conversation with the Bar Association about public intoxication, though. Careful, judge!

Like I said last time, Marisa's growing on me. She's been putting a lot of work in in DM's too, which is an awesome thing to see. It's clear they wanna be the best they can be for Valk's imminent return, and I think that if they keep on the track of improvement they're on, they will absolutely be ready to face that challenge. Keep on keeping on, homegirl, love the pants.

Speaking of Valk... <_< Simp squad about to be FED FED. Looking forward to seeing a strong comeback from one of the centerpieces of the women's division.

Cort and Jehst, always a fucking hoot, what else is there to say?

Flojo having a Wrex moment, taking her ball and saying 'screw you, I'm gonna go watch hentai.' Mood, but also, come on, I know you got one more banger left in the tank. : (

Derek and Fraser, same as Telos and McCallum. Coulda been trimmed, but great otherwise.

I don't get Mina. I just don't. Glad we have yet another new face in the women's division, but I'll need to see more before I can soundly make a judgement call. Heather's a good start, for sure.

Baker's really kinda down in the dumps, and H20's just kinda throwing his usual attitude at him, but nothing sticks. I gotta wonder what exactly is on Baker's mind, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the man resolves his unfinished business, whatever that might be.

Maxx really out here running a vigilante sting operation. Hope you know, bro, that's actually illegal.

Tobin re-introducing himself, and Kota introducing herself, to the OCW fans, and man, both of these promos were SOLID.

The cracks in Dominion have reached a breaking point, and it's clear that Nate's had enough. I'd really like to have another Dominion summit where this all comes to a head, I think that would really put a nice bow on the stable, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get one. The fellowship is coming to an end, and only time will tell who's coming out of it, and how many scars they get on the way out.

Thomas Archer is a Saturday Morning cartoon villain, and I love him for it. What else is there to say? Just a piece of shit being a piece of shit. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Overall, the writing and video content was just as good as the matches, if not, in some cases, even better, and I think people really latched onto Consequences being a transitional show to Cide. There's a lot of continuing feuds, a lot of bridging storylines, and it's clear that we all have a lot of stock on Cide. I hope the summer showdown delivers, but with our track record, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

I was able to jump into the watch party this past weekend. Left a little early for work, so I finished the show when I got home. It’s been about two years since I’ve watched a show, and I have to say this was hands down the best I’ve seen in terms of production alone. I can honestly say I had more fun watching this show, than I have watching any wrestling program over the last few years! I’ve now had time to read the roleplays on the show, so, le’ggo!

(Keep in mind that I haven’t played or watched a show in awhile, so take this all with a grain of salt or tell me to go fuck myself.)

LHW Championship Match: Thoroughly enjoyed this bad boy! Very happy to see that AC Cobra and Kass are still around and putting on entertaining matches. That Carter sure is a cutie, and had a great defense! The pace was on point, and there were multiple moments where I was popping off my couch, so, thanks for that enjoyment. Coulda used more pixels, though.

H20 Roleplay: Marvelous! Very funny! Love the new look, and congrats on the accolades, my dude! I still enjoy your writing today as much as I did in 2016! Glad to see you still around and running the world.

Colby/Telos Backstage: I really love the editing here, and using the ingame engine to create cutscenes without Universe is new to me, and I absolutely love it. However, it was too long for my taste. I think setting up the scene and dialogue was fine, but the amount of fighting could have been cut in half, though. The editing of the guy sneaking in and out had me in tears, in a good way.

Dillinger Enterprises Roleplay: I liked it. I’m not too familiar with these folks, yet, but holy hell I cannot wait to see more. Got me hype for the matches later.

Reese Roleplay: If Parca peaked my interest in this feud in the last segment, Reese just went ahead and locked me in full-hog with his promo! Solid, engaging and well written.

Anthony Baker Return: Welcome back, boiiiiii!

Mysterious Chair Beating: Not my proudest wank, but we’re all a little closer now.

El Parca vs Mark Reese: This match was damn good, damn good! I’m not sold on the ending, but, to be fair, I’ve only just started my Lution viewing this morning, so I need to see how we got here before I’m fully informed enough to decide on this ending. I can’t wait to see how all of this is resolved, though for sure.

P3 Promo: Entertaining and very funny!

Morgan Blackheart Return: Enjoyable. Step on me, please.

Val Promo: YO! This is my kind of promo! Can’t wait to see more!

Justice INC: I haven’t laughed as hard as I did when The Judge came out in a VERY long time. The chat was poppin off and it just hit the spot.

Summercide Ad: Whoever is doing these things, amazing work, yo!

Justice INC Promo: My favorite part of the show thus far, and definitely well written. Also, kudos on the way you incorporated the New Day entrance into the roleplay aspect! Solid work! Tre leading a new stable of pups? Very cute.

Solomon Caine vs H20 WHC Match: Hot diggitty-dog this was some mighty fine a stickin’ and a grinnin’ from H20. RIP Solomon! Sad I didn’t get to know you before you died.

Ashley Moore and Emp Promo: Absolutely love the psychology of this one. It wasn’t very long and got right to the point. Disney Hug at the end!

Marisa Promo: OOOOOOH, fun! Women’s division is rocking right now! I think Asher and Marisa could use some of Nathan’s couples counseling, though.

Cort and Jehst Promo: Court was only getting started when I was on my way out. This dude has clearly been putting in work and it’s wonderful to see!

Danny Watts vs Nate Ortiz: I could watch Nate play this game all day. We can’t forget Danny, though, he kept up with Nate and it was a banger of a match. Not a fan of the DQ, but I sorta understand it.

Flojo Promo: Getting me excited for that first ever Female PPV Main Event!

James Fraser/Just Derek Promo: Bill Burr on steroids, eh? I love these backstage fights, just wish they were about 20-30 seconds shorter.

Minda Vandenhoff Debut: Well put together video, and a very fun looking character! Can’t wait to see more!

Valk Promo: Damn, this hooked me pretty quick, not gonna lie. This chick means BIDNESS!

KD x Quartz Video: Favorite video package of the night. Bravo!

KD x Quartz OCW Championship: At first, I thought that KD was retiring, and I legit shed a tear. Once I realized he wasn’t, I was locked into the match from the get go. Loved it. KD got did dirty, though. Bobby is back!

Baker/H20 Promo: B20 reunion?!?! Maybe?? Maybe not??? Either way, FEED ME MORE!

Investigative Reports: Absolutely hysterical!

Dane Xaiver vs Cort Marshall: B’AW GAWHD IT WAS A SLOBBER KNOCKER! Not sure if it was the energy the watch party was giving off, or what, but this match was pretty fucking hype for me not even 30 seconds in. It was a rollercoaster of emotion from start to finish. Match of the night for me.

Tobin Frost Return: Nice to see you back, sir. I actually witnessed the McGee and Pugh stuff, so I was pretty happy that there was something on the show I could remember and really understand. Always enjoyed your work, can’t wait to see more!

Nate delcares W.A.R: Short, sweet, and to the point. I love the idea of green screening, and can’t wait to see where that takes us! Nate is about to mess up some folk.

Kota Rain Promo: A little tease for Riot, very nice! Now, that’s a backstory! Absolute fire! (Too soon?)

Elliot Parker vs Tony Everrett CCW Championship: Holy shit! Normally, I have to pay a subscription to see someone get fucked this hard.

Archer Promo: Very good and descriptive writing, here. Way different than most things going on and very fun. The party sounds like it was amazing.

Terra Daturas vs EMP: Never seen these characters before and I’m in love with both! Ashley should piss off more, but other than that, this was so much fun! Great build up video, too! First all female main event at a PPV? GREAT SUCCESS!!!

Overall, the show was amazing, save for a few match ending hiccups! The videos were bangin, and the RP’s were solid all around! Congrats on a fantastic show, y’all!

It’s nice to see you back b! Everyone is coming back!

Due to a Jay's request and just cause, I decided to add a little more formatting to the review espeically since this one is longer. This is written after the fact and this style, not the best. Will probably play around with it more and tweak it here and there in the future.

Edit: Site does not support my horizontal lines breaking stuff up even though It shows up in the text editor :(

Even through some technical difficulties that changed aspects of this match, the result was excellent. An absolutely beautiful way to open up the show.

One gripe I had was AC Cobra having the arena movie during his entrance. Thankfully, it was MITB so it didn’t stick out too much from the PPV aesthetic(thanks Kent[?])but it really makes his entrance look SOO generic.

In the match however, Cobra played his role perfectly as the white meat cruiser babyface, keeping the energy high and he had a little hot streak of offense in the middle. Cobra being resilient throughout the match also played perfectly into his previously established character and you really can’t ask for much more in a match.

Kass came into the match as the favorite due to his general and specifically multiman experience but came up short, while still handing out some Cessations. Unfortunately, he got caught on the second one in a really cool moment, even though it looked weird because of the game. Kass came out to play but the cards did not fall in his favor.

John takes the win in dominant 2-0-0 fashion overcoming the dreaded first defense and looking strong as he sets his sights on capturing NA Gold. John opting out of ending a submission was probably the wrong decision but understandable. After Cobra eating 40 finishers and not staying down and due to the nature of it being a Triple Threat match where subs can be broken up, a submission was more than acceptable but avoiding that perception is a fine choice.

RP Break

Harvey apologizing for sending out Wagner on a rookie was a nice gesture and one that I liked to see. We learn about characters through what they say, what others say about them and what they do, and Harvey looks to show how much he’s changed.

One thing I didn’t like from this is Harvey perfectly reciting the historical reference to Dupree’s wrestling career. The way it was written seemed less like something Harvey would say and something he would read off a teleprompter while advertising the OCW Network. I think Dupree showed the right way to do it. Upon the reference, Dupree expanded upon the reference, from his perspective as a character, and integrated it nicely into the discussion making the connection to the present match. A more natural implementation would have been as follows:

Harvey: It’s actually an homage to you. It’s colorway is inspired by what you wore at Wreslution 7 when you faced Dimsmore.

This brings it up in a more casual way and allows Dupree to expand on it and talk about how it was Champion v Champion.

This is far from a Harvey-problem or an isolated incident but sort of just a theme I’ve seen where characters have perfect and complete recollection when referencing OCW History and it doesn’t always make sense.

I think the criticisms of the Telos-Colby vid have been said. Length aside, I really do like the matchup and like this as a returning feud for both parties.

The DDE promo was really weird for a variety of reasons. Overall, it just really didn’t fit on the show in my opinion and seemed like something planned for the go-home.

I think the majority of my issue lies with them being in the ring. Even though there is a difference from vid/text, the idea of people coming out to the ring then going back backstage, then having ⅘ of them come back out to the ring throughout the show, with Parca’s match being the next match, is just weird to me. Reese’s backstage segment was more fitting for this reason.

There is also the part where Dillinger basically says that Dane-Cort will go on before Parca-Reese which turned out to be wrong and is exactly why predicting match order should just be avoided at all costs.

This promo would work on a two night PPV to set up the other night but here it feels weird.

A wild Anthony Baker and a Chris Greene Solo RP appears!

Lucha Country Explodes

I’ll start by saying props to both men for showing how to put together really special feeling entrances WITHOUT using any pyro. I mean Parca had the stage literally come to life in sync with the music and it looked sick.

Not much to say besides the finish but I am glad the Mark Reese was able to hit both the Uppercut and the “Cornfield to Cornfield” properly referencing a legend as had seemed to be the theme of the night with H20’s homage already being discussed.

As for the finish, I think it was a victim more of poor timing than anything else. It would have been way better had it been any earlier or any later. Unfortunately, it happened right in the middle of the match. Too early for it to feel like a proper finish but too late that we were already invested.

Then the aftermath didn’t make it any better. After the passion story of two brothers turned on each other by a man in a suit, after El Parca proclaiming ownership of both titles for the whole month, Parca took his ball and went to go attack other people. It just seems very unsatisfactory.

RP Break

Following a great P3 segment, we had the Evelyn-HOF segment.

One MAJOR thing is that due to the text boxes and the gamertag in the corner, it is obvious that Louis put together this video as well as the Telos and Colby video. Obviously, when you want to have a major return like we have here, it really dampens the impact of it.

Then there is the whole, Evelyn taking a step back to go to the combat center. I’ll say this and it applies to all of the retirements we’ll see on this show and it’s what Jake. It’s not the fact that you did it, it’s the fact that you watched other people do it AND STILL did it. Evelyn was the most egregious offender of this only because she is someone that hasn’t gotten much regular television and just recently got promoted whereas the other people at least did it after a high-profile match.

The Justice Inc LLC segment was very interesting for a number of reasons.

Jordan Trance’s potential underage drinking was one.

We had the music produced by Colin that was just chef’s kiss. I definitely heard Judge’s theme in there and would like to say I heard Trance’s in there as well and I’m sure Colin’s was in there but my ear couldn’t pick it out. Also props to the logo although I think it may have been revised from the described logo in the grad. party.

The choice of using the New Day motion is one that I didn’t like but I could understand it. For me, that motion still fits P3’s EMP celebration but I realize that being on the game for 3 years there isn’t a ton of new stuff you could do. Heck, even having Terra back on what looked like the Callum Compound was something I didn’t like to see.

With that, comes my problem with Justice Inc. LLC. which is a very tricky one to say the least. Originally, when we first saw the team they were very much a rag-tag team of misfits, and for their first couple RPs they sort of stayed the same. Now I’m not gonna deny the fact that they have done lots of RP and in-character have bonded a lot since then but I still feel like they’ve lost the plot. In this, it is quite clear they’ve been pulled into Colin’s world of wackiness and Judge and Jordan have lost themselves, Judge moreso.

I feel like a main reason why Judge and Jordan have been pulled into Colin’s world is that they haven’t gotten into any real action since forming. They kinda have become a supporting cast behind Colin’s quest to reclaim Int Gold. Last time we saw Judge in a storyline, he was this mean bully going up against...Jordan Trance.

I also feel like if they wanted to do this idea, this was the perfect time to show how people react to alcohol differently. Have one be the DD that doesn’t drink or atleast has moderation(even though Colin sort of acted like that in text). Have the one friend that is absolutely smashed and its obvious. Then they could have had one be the one in denial that’s “Not even THAT drunk” or have one be aggressive/sad. I understand how the game limitations could have prevented this, but while I have NO idea how the 3 man motions look like, I’m sure that there was one that could have been used somehow.

SOLOMON CAINE vs. H20

This match is very...meh. Not bad but just not much to talk about. Caine struggles to regain his competitive form after his matches with Doc as H20 looks to pick up steam heading into the summer.

Then there was the aftermath, Caine says his goodbye before getting attacked by El Parca. Already, having two “retirements” suck but to have them both end up in the person getting attacked to set up a feud sucks even more.

Danny Watts vs Nate Ortiz

Good showing from Danny here being able to go toe-to-toe with Nate for a lot of the match. I was wondering if this was gonna be the end of the Dominion Implosion storyline and it’s clear it is not.

I guess since Dominion is nearing it’s end, we can ask if it was successful...yes, yes it was.

RP Break

Flojo shooting. Real talk, it would have made a lot more sense for her to feud w/ HOF than Evelyn but that’s neither here nor their.

Then we got Mina Vadenhoff’s debut which was as crazy as the mystery hype videos leading up to it were. Alt Timeline stuff! Nice to see her come in and jump right into a feud with Heather but I do hope we can find some stuff out about her during that fued.

Valkyrie is CLEARED! Phase 3(?) of the Marisa-Valk feud is about to get crazy.

We also get one of the sickest video packages yet for the OCW Championship match. Speaking of…

K’Dangelo vs Quartz

Another non-finish shenanigan match. All of these would be fine on they’re own or even on a bigger PPV but having them all together really has the overall show have a surprising lack of wrestling on it.

If I wanted to be nitpicky, I’ll say he should’ve removed the HUD when the match “officially” started.

Minio coming back has me on cloud nine. Certain guys have that look and that it factor about them and Minio is that guy. If he gets his crowning moment at SummerCide, I think the whole fed would erupt.

Dane Xavier vs Cort Marshall

MOTN. Pretty simple. Outstanding character work. From their movesets to the finish. Such a feel-good win for AMERICA. Dillinger and Jasmine getting thrown out was beautiful. Can’t wait to see where Dane goes after this assuming he’s not running it back with HUSA and fighting Jehst.

Elliot Parker vs Antonio Everrett

Starting with the entrances, again, Elliott missed the mark and as such I gave him an extra t. We have seen some fake outs recently, Marisa’s comes to mind. Even in a story perspective, if Elliot isn’t one to play mind games and they don’t have a deep-seeded rivalry, then why do it. Much rather keep it simple (sissay).

Speaking of keeping it simple, Everett comes out in a Saka jersey. A small topical reference that makes sense for the character. He also came out with Rust which was quite clearly drawing a line in the sand given the Nate promo that aired before the match.

John comes out fashionably late, but somehow still missing his title AND with MITB showing behind him. Having John and Rust at ringside was nice, bringing the two’s respective factions into the matchup and it is interesting how the more tightly knit faction is the one that came out separate.

Parker got killed. An outcome that was more likely than it was expected and for that I’ll give props to Parker for giving himself some real credibility before this match and having people think of this match as more of a toss-up than it ended up being. Where Parker goes after this, and how his role in the WC is expanded is all up in the air, but I look forward to it.

Parca going after Everrett was very much expected. Ever since turning on Reese, the world champ just seemed like the natural next step for Parca so I think a lot of people saw this coming. That being said, Parca now has 2 maybe 3 storylines heading into Cide so how that pans out will be interesting.

#FreeArcher

I know I talked about that OCW Champ hype package but the Women’s Champ package was on another level. You could really tell Emp and Jake’s two styles here.

The OCW Champion one was more emotional and thematic focusing on KD’s story and what might be his final opportunity at world champion gold.

Emp’s was just pure violence. The edits had a great sense of professionalism about them and the package more perfectly encaptured the feud and the competitors going into the match. All without losing any intensity that the feud had.

Both were amazing and did two different jobs. Jake’s package suckered the fans into feeling for KD before he would get tossed to the wayside by Quartz. Emp got us hyped for the main event and got us to believe that it would be different from the rest of the show. It also fit better given how people didn’t hate Terra coming into the match so it placed the two on even pedestals.

Main Event

Unpopular Opinion, Ashley Moore tried something different and it was largely a success. It’s clear that she was trying to step outside the non-involved manager role(like Rust and John) and try to take a more realistic manager role without affecting the competitive side of the match, and she did that pretty well.

The only bad that she did was due to her alignment. Getting on the apron during a pinfall is a classic heel maneuver and didn’t add to the match in any way. Similarly, when she got in the ring and taunted on a downed Terra, that was just outright disrespectful.

Everything else she did was pretty good. I think most people agree that the ladder spot was good, but even getting beat up and getting misted. If you wanna make the argument that she wasted Terra’s red payback it could be easily argued against as she gave Terra momentum. Ashley PRIMARILY only got involved when Emp was recovering.

Speaking of the freshly-buzzed Emp, time after time, she has proved she is no slouch on the sticks. Taking it to Terra and having the confidence to go for the Sig-Fin with only one knockdown remaining and Terra majored.

Moore still having some mist in the post-match cutscene was beautiful attention to detail. I think Moore vs Terra is a next step for both characters that makes sense.

Ditto what I’ve said about retiring. Retiring into “One-Last-Match” fakeout. It would have probably made more sense for Emp to lose to pull this angle but such is comp.

Conclusion

On the “Arena Movie”, I don’t see why this still happens. If you are recording an entrance and see it, take it off. If you are putting together a match/ recording someone’s entrance for them and see it, (ask them to) take it off.

Somehow this show had less pyro than the go-home, go figure.

This show was very story-focused.

I feel like that is the very obvious takeaway but that’s what I think as well. A lot of matches were either impacted visually by pre-existing storyline or used to further a storyline.Definitely prefer that to a bunch of bleh matches that don’t mean nothing or do nothing.

That being said, the next 3 weeks of shows are about to be hectic. Summercide looks to be STACKED and very well could overtake last year’s if people don’t be dolts.

Awesome review as usual Maxxy. I largely agree with most of what you said, any conflicts can be seen on the post show pod (when Jay allowed me to talk, wink)

Only thing I'll respond to directly is calling Quartz vs KD a "non-finish shenanigan match". I do not agree at all with that descriptor, as it had a clear beginning and a clear finish, that being a pinfall. Nonfinish usually refers to a countout or a DQ or a no contest or something.

You may generically be referring to the fact it wasn't a paint by numbers comp match, which we talked about in the post-show pod. The comp match is in there and it fades into it during the second black phoenix.

That is also the reason I added huds in post, so the transition to the actual comp finish would not be as jarring/sudden and would be cleaner.

Also YES the next three weeks are going to be PACKED to get ready for Summercide and I'm sure will operate like supercards in a way, segment wise.
