Wesley Adams Poe Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Read and Confirmed.. Tech guys can be grappled from behind as well, just saying, i don't know about the fags who whore the run under, i personally try not to do it, and when i do it's on accident more then it's ever been trying to, but yeah tech guys can easily go to yellow from your quick graps, strikes, reverse in to back graps, or irish whips, and down graps and down strikes, within 5-7 of any of these moves. I promise a tech will be yellow somewhere. It saddens me that leonhart truly believes strong grapples are not prevalent anylonger. It's because people choose not to even try, that and down grapples. I know they are easy to reverse but for me strong grapples and down grapples make the match, and actually get your opponent hurt much quicker. I think we all need to remember this is wrestling and try to focus more on grappling. There is no problem with striking imo, but there should always be more grappling. I've seen alot of matches where people strike, strike, knockdown strike,(if not reversed), ground strike ground strike ground strikes..*opponent gets up* strike, down strike, running elbow drop, strike...*Opponent gets up* attempts a grapple(either tylered or off on distance) Irish whip, run strike. What an entertaining match. I think we could all do little evaluations of ourselves to try and make these matches look better. I won't complain about any of the new rules,as I'll make the best of the situation reguardless, but as a whole we should try to make our matches more entertaining. I know winning is important to us, but if we don't want to make our matches stylish and entertaining, we should just slap wwe on this fed and get on with our lives. http://www.threadbombing.com/data/media/2/Hooray2.gif 2009 Season: Singles Record:3/2/0 Tag (Including Handicaps):0/0/0 Gimmick Matches:Trip.Threats:0/1/0 Championship Matches: Total:3/3/0 Career Achievements: Dual Champ. Heaton Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Oooh, you used Rey Mysterio. I'm sure you had such a hard time fighting against the CPU. Again, for the THIRD fucking time you're not going to have people change the way they play just because of a technical flaw. Great for Aries! I'm not him! I don't play the way he does, so I just said "fuck it" and don't use high flyer. Also. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 10, 15 or so times, I need to get my head examined. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w157/HEATONLOL/Sephiroth01.gif Haters Gonna Hate
Sean Strider Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 What a discussion we are having here! I would like to say that I understand where Heaton is coming from on the situation of rolling. Take '07 for example, alot of people would move back and forth throughout the ring, but they could automatically reverse while still moving around the ring...which isn't the case in '08. So some of these 'highflyers' are still under that impression or atleast thats how I see it. Now I won't lie, I will probably roll 3 times in a match which is conclusive with my match with Aries. We had a hell of a match and we didn't roll like no tommorow. I've taken the Reed approach by trying to anticipate when my opponent is going to do a move so the roll will be down in my matches. Most time when you see me roll is when my opponent is on the ground or when I am backing up from a "Tyler" or a mistake on my opponents part. The rolling thing is a sticky situation as you can't really pinpoint when someone is trying to be cheesey. Though it is obvious, you still can't pinpoint a person on that. Do I hate the rolling? Damn striaght, I like making people pay for trying to grapple me instead of that rolling nonsense. But since I don't do it like others, I don't really get into it as I've never to my knowledge been called for being a roll whore as thats not my style. I've read the faq and I am confirmed. Smythe D. Wonder Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 it`s absolutely a 2 way rule... I don`t have any problems with the striking in grapple unless people completely jam the buttons making even the dragging option unavailable... I played Bold and I couldn`t even drag him to avoid the strikes... that`s a problem... mind you I took full advantage of striking while in grapple usually getting a quick knee in as soon as I was grappled... but it`s really not a big deal with the change up... a few strikes don`t do much damage... and reversing is just as easy striking or no striking... new rule... doesn`t change much... but what`s gonna be the penalty for breaking this move... as I kneed Pee Stee a few times in our match out of repetition... my solution would be that if you accidently strike while in a grapple you have to allow the other person to hit the move... that`s an easy settle for that... and with the tech thing... I think I invented the term "tech whore" as I do the most whining about it... I do it jokingly tho... in actuallity... over half the roster has the tech perk... alot of people who aren`t tech wrestlers are all claim the style... but in actuality since they can`t be strong grappled... you pretty much have to quick attack them repeatedly until they go yellow... advantage other guy... as every match I`ve had against a tech wrestler (besides Fausto) they`ve gone yellow before me... the highflyer style isn`t for everyone... some people roll like little girls cause they can`t reverse without moving... while others are good with it... and the showman/dirty all the perks I have are pretty much to make matches more interesting and entertaining... I can do certian things that you don`t see in every match.... IE tossing the ref, removing the turnbuckle.. stealing taunts, finishers... the only time the perk is good is at the end of matches... as Showmen have many ways to get finishers fast... my point is... behind all the perks in this game are responsibilities... you can`t abuse any perk in this game... there`s times for all of them... all the whining about perks is pretty much ethics and selling... while there are only a few people that I can see no selling a finisher in OCW... it doesn`t mean that every match they should no sell any finisher... Tech wrestlers have an irreversable duck under move... it shouldn`t be abused... Brawlers have a 3 punch combo... shouldn`t be abused... OCW is as close to an actual federation of wrestling as most of us are gonna get (Gary o'dea actually wrestles) take the responsibility of knowing your character and acting accordingly in the ring... Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream
Kang James Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Strong Grapples can happen, shit watch my match with Kage I think I landed 4-5 of them. Think he only landed 1 but hey I was named the OCW reversal Kang! by Smythe so that why. http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/forum/file.php?40,file=21309,filename=thats_racist_racist.gif IT'S THE KING, BITCH! 2x International Champion 1x Hardcore Champion

But don't get me wrong there are a few people out there that believe a lot in grappling. Just it doesn't happen a lot in 08 since most peoples style are strike, irish whip and stun grapple.
Tyro Kraven Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 my solution would be that if you accidently strike while in a grapple you have to allow the other person to hit the move... that`s an easy settle for that... Found this funny. O you accidently hit a pff, what 2 or 3 damage move. Now you have to let me hit my 10 to 16 damage move on you!!! Chris Baxter Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 read dont like the no punching in grapples.. but w/e not all high flyers abuse the rolling .. i can use it and roll 5 times at most tech doesnt bother me ... i just get them down.. n lock a sub n drain them to yellow ᛨ ꖾᚣᛠᛊ ᚴᛜᏌ ᛕᚣᛢᛢ
