I'm going to say this one more time. And I'll say it VERY FUCKING SIMPLY. Understand it, take it in and accept it.

The finish of the match was legal WAY before anything ever came up about kickouts.

The rules from WAY back states the match could finish "without a finisher as long as a signature move has been hit except in a main event or ppv match."

So our new rule which is stemmed from the kickout situation has NO bearing on KD's finish.

I'll repeat. It has NO bearing on it.

One more time incase you're too fucking stupid to understand me. The rule created off the problems we were having with kickouts making matches longer had NO BEARING on the legality of KD's finish. Can you all understand legality? Means that what he did was legal.

In terms of Aries' suggestion I personally am totally against any from of limiting the kickouts of any wrestlers. You are free to debate it and if you all like it then I'll vote for it. But personally I don't like limitations.

Oh and yeah. I'm not the masked man but I like his style. I also warn him that if he inpersonates Trevor McManus one more time then I will have to be whooping his ass.

you guys make me laugh and cry a little at the same time.

I come back and forth to OCW maybe out of habit or maybe out of some sense of pride and ownership to this place.

after reading this thread and watching the match i'm really sad at the state of OCW.

I am posting because i have gotten AIM's about my thoughts on OCW over the past few weeks from various people and some people still talk to me about FPR and Ideas and what not.

everything I will write is my personal preference and its for advice and suggestions only.

ocw is about 4 core things (not in any special order).

competition

role playing

ethics

fair play

its a hard balance.

to many rules take away the competition of the game

not enough rules make it hard to have ethics and fair play

a dead site with no one running it make it hard to have interesting RP's and feuds and storylines.

so what do you do?

to be honest you attack the problem from all angles but it means the community that wants a successful fed needs to work, EVERYONE needs to work not just a few.

if i took over OCW today this is what i would do.

Jay needs to get the site to feel like its actually 2010-2011

All applicants must be tested by an assigned FPR testing team

stat rules stay in effect by an assigned stat person

FPR rules are as follows "if i can be reversed its allowed"

you can win the match after a finisher is attempted with only another finisher a PIN MOVE (any pinning move)or SUB SIG (means the sub has to be listed as a sig move)

a booking team will be created and this Booking team needs to make sure the site stays alive with interesting feuds and stoylines.

thats it.

go get better and win by actually winning.

and lets take poe vs kd as an example.

Lets say for KD did think he could end the match when he went for the finish and poe kicked out and then as poe mounts a comeback KD goes for the desperate win and ends it. (lets assume he used a declared sub sig)

well why the fuck is booking not saying "we have a feud in the works, KD just stole a win from POE. book a match to push this feud!"

why is this not happening? is is OCW not flowing with the out come of matches to grow. Everyone wants 100 rules so all matches are exaclty the same and everyone has the same equal chance to win in the actual game.

why not let people get tested to get into OCW, stats balance the CAWS, your skill at the game play a factor, and the booking to make this place fair and fun and feel alive.

back in the day when i was here the game was so broken we needed all these rules and we had a huge influx of people joining so we needed a set foundation of rules, these rules do not and currently don't apply to current OCW.

I would have (if these people would do it) Aries and Trance test new members(teach the basic rules and get a sense of the player/caw/attitude)

mayhem run the stats to check for stats

fpr to just make sure the rules are clear and people follow

and a booking team to watch shows and see if storylines feuds and angles can happen out of the match results.

it starts off with the core group here. you have to see the big picture you have to trust that the best people will get into OCW by still being tested before being booked. if you get people in that understand OCW you have your stat rules you allow for skill to separate the best from the worst and you let a booking team make this place creative and fun.

not to say you can't come up with your own ideas and feuds but in addition a booking team will also be doing it.

and as a wrestler you roll with it. you lose you RP around it and see what booking will do for you, you lose you get better....

as RD says this place is a a casual's dream any sign of a "fed" is gone.

why is it if lets say someone hovers you but you can reverse the move attempt even if he is hovering whey do we need a rule to stop that when the player can stop it by reverseing?

if you say because it looks shitty you just failed video game rules 101...

gameplay first visuals second.

if the gameplay allows it but the visual suffers it is still better then looking like shit (standing waiting for someone to get up and slow ass boring to watch and play gameplay)

you have to think about this as a game. ITS A GAME, real wrestling is 100% scripted, if you want good looking matches then you 100% script OCW matches. If you want to be in control of your win or your loss then get better at the game and win at it or deal with the loss.

the last time i felt alive in OCW was when i fought BOLD and beat him. that match was so aggressive we both wanted to win so bad and I won by the skin of my teeth, my adrenalin was pumping i was amped man! and i felt good and i felt my skill made me win and thats only because we rode the fpr line because the WIN was so important to us. when was the last time anyone felt like that here?

in short

Don't make me come back and be a GM to a new show and run it with my rules!!!!!

The difference between old and new OCW is before the staff had absolute governing power as any people could leave or change feds and it wouldn't hurt our numbers or product...

The new OCW has about 10 major contributers... Which all have a voice because of the lack of active wrestlers...

But the blood rushing matches and intensity still exists... Just at a different level... For me playing Trips and Aries always gets me going...

Trips is the last of the true OCW talents... Plays straight up everything clean backs off if he doesn't like the look of what he's doing... Nowone I enjoy playing more...

And Aries amazes me in game all the time... Almost to the level Nate did... Maybe it's just because he's better than I am... But amazed nonetheless...

This new OCW has the work ethic... And the talent... Once the numbers step up and the governing powers regain control it'll be as it was... Maybe even better

Signature 1 - The Alpha Heel

Signature 2 - Spear 5 (F) - Stargazer

Finisher 1 - Flapjack 2 (F) - The SDW

Finisher 2 - Reality check (G) - Dawonderful Dream

Finisher 3 (i'm cool enoigh to claim 3 moves) - The Darkside - THe Million Dollar Dream

I'm really disappointed in all the crap that I see and refuse to read in this thread. This show is fucking great, and the only one trying to make some sort of discussion with his review is Mad Mike, and he's not even fucking active! I'm not going to post a review, but I will leave you with something that's stuck in my head since Wrestlution 5:

"There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down; you got your talkers and you got your doers. Most people are just talkers, all they've got is talk. But when all is said and done, it's the doers who change this world, and when they do that they change us, and that's why we never forget them. So which one are you? Do you just talk about it? Or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just coffeehouse bullshit."
