For the record, VV did win the FI briefcase in a grueling FI ladder match, THEN he successfully defended it, which is like winning the World Title itself.

 

Plus, Leon and VV had a real 1 vs. 1 to determine the outcome, which means it could have ended differently. He could have just as easily failed to successfully cash in his briefcase.
