Cruz vs Dangelo- This was actually a hell of a close match, I thought KD would dominate, but that wasn't the case.

The only issue I had with the match was the lead up to the finish, carlos reversed KD's grapple attempt and ended up behind KD, now instead of KD reversin or turning to face Carlos, he used that quick, gay back elbow strike to gain the advantage, and it set him off on his build up to the finisher, and personally I feel it stole the match off Cruz, as I thought Cruz was the stronger wrestler in this match.

 

Omega Dragon vs Wonderful Wesley-I'm expecting a ton of reversals of these 2 even before the match has started.

Omega is good at utilizing the springboard spots in his matches which makes for some markworthy action..first one here is the springboard hurricanrana, nicely done.

I love'd how OD went for a top rope kick and Wesley just casually brushed it aside with his hand, Mr.Mayagi style..lmao.

Nice moonsault off the apron by Wesley, this match has a TNA x division feel to it.

Nice finish to the match also, but I still think that CAF looks wierd as fuck.

 

Smith vs Jozzy-Jozzy's intro is epic.

Smith definitely has my seal of approval as hardcore champ, he's looking bad ass with it lately. This match is basically Smith kicking ass, with a dominating peformance over Jozzy, Smith is always 1 step ahead on every move, not sure why Smith didn't pin him after the 1st finisher..kinda dragged the match out after that, and the 2nd finisher was questionable as the finisher icon didn't even blink up!

But a huge whooping clinic put on by Smith.

 

White Mojo?

 

Aries/trance vs Knox...I watched this, but I'm not writing anything about it, as it was what it was, a 2 on 1..and not even a tag, it was a tornado....take from that what you will.

 

Ryder vs Christ-Only ever gonna be one winner here, Ryder is a seasoned vet and Christ was never really going to give him any trouble imo.

Christ was done and dusted about 5 minutes into this match Ibelieve, then it drags on for like another 15 minutes due to it being a ladder match.

 

Guy vs Smythe-Not sure what's going on with SDW's theme music recently, I haven't like any of them since flashing lights, and this one at the ppv was kinda crappy.

Another classic match between these 2, was pretty close all the way, the ending of the match is PRICELESS, and I was laughing my ass off,it was a perfect finisher for a match between these 2 if you know the history.

Does Smythe FINALLY manage to secure singles gold which he is craving for? Or has the stinking hobo added another defence to his ever extending reign as champ?

 

Leon vs ???-i was looking forward to seeing the return of Sideshow, but shit happens.

Another strange choice of attire by Mr.Heart :) and strange intro music also.

Good match again, nice spot where ??? goes to strong grapple Leon and he dive's behing the ref's back, timed to perfection and looked cool.

The spear off the announce table was nice, why do people ALWAYS have to climb the cell in a hell in a cell match? /sigh

I marked at ??? reversing the side effect attempt through the top of the cell,I usually hate top of cell battles, but this one is epic, tons of reversals and you can see both are desperate to put each other through, Leon gets busted open with a ddt,then ??? gets FUCKED UP goin through the cell..dam that's gotta hurt.

Then Leon pays the price for taunting...kip up and BOOM!

Great match.

The Arnaud brothers? seriously?...because what we really need more alts around here at the moment..jeesh.

 

Trips vs Valmont-I have Trips winning this all the way, sorry Vinnie, but Trips is just that bit better than you imo, I will say its lame that he got his title shot through bitching like a woman in the forums and not through rp's and hard work on the shows, but with that said, I'm expecting a transitional champ achievement[remember those icon things that noone ever gets given?] for Valmont, as rp and work wise he deserved to be champ, but skill wise I don't believe he's up there....yet.

Valmot actually keeps it close, then Trips steps it up and its over..Boom.

 

Final thought......This was an ok ppv, and IMO I think this should be the last ppv OCW does for a while, as I don't see it as our saving ppv, I see it as our ending, competition is at an all time low, interest is at an all time low, and most people are just going through the motions, and I am one of them, we have lost some huge names/character/contributers lately..look at MMM,Ma'Jin,Kage,Seth,RD Money,Tyro,Kip,Deano,Bold[and it hurts saying that one] But all their characters were interesting, and brought different stuff to the table, and made stuff watchable,and interesting, does the current crop of OCW wrestlers garner the same interest? IMO I don't think so, not by a long shot,we are littered with alts just to make up the numbers, its strange, as 09 is so much better than 08, but no one is interested..I'd actually rather see us go on an extended break til svr2010 than to carry on with this shell that we are ticking over with now, of like 4-5 comments per show.

Alright, here it goes...

 

(gonna review the actual matches in a bit)

 

 

Segments:

 

First off, opening rp. Pretty random, but kind of funny and entertaining in a good kind of way. I like crowley, he's a decent character. Boogeyman/goldust esqe in my opinion, makes for some good segments.

 

OD's RP went nicely leading up to his match, it was good that he decided to do it because the match needed a little build in my opinion.

 

Leon's promo with damian was cool, I could tell that it was gonna be nate facing him though. ARSE references are always awesome, by the way.

 

The jozzy/smith segment for their program was a joy to read. I like the ozzy-esqe dialouge attempts, and frank looking to be all business was cool to show that he can't be distracted from his title diffense. Crowley, justin, jozzy...still don't get it quite all the way, but it's entertaining nonetheless.

 

Mojo...has vince russo invaded OCW? It opened up a spot for parker to be part of the ppv though, wonder what's building there.

 

The hobo/smythe thing had some nice dialouge in it. I'm still adjusting to the hobo style talks, but I'm catching on. Looks like smythe and hobo have respect for one another, not sure exactly if smythe is trying to help the hobo ace the gimmick or what. Spam and spit, pricelss.

 

I think my rp toward ryder got the point across, though it being just a bit out of place was sort of a bummer. :(

 

Looks like mayhem is building an army, a guy like crowley could be a good soldier...he scares me. I think he may even want my preciousssss...meh, had to do that, kinda reminded me of the little lord of the rings troll guy there.

 

The bloodline is back in full, eh? Wesley seems to be a pretty clever character, candy fits along well too. Nice to see they got some muscle in there, those arnaud brothers look like they mean business...let's see what they can do for 2.0 in the tag team division.

 

 

Commentary:

 

Honestly this is just one of the things i'm not really getting behind. We have solid matches, solid promos, but I'm feeling the commentary to be just a little week. Maybe it's just that the dialouge doesn't have a great deal of passion in it, or possibly just because there may not be enough of it. Either way, I think it could be worked on within the near future. Scaggs and Al are good characters, but I just don't think they get their voice across. Maybe from now on instead of each just saying one short sentence after a match, take the stretch, and make it two. Also I think commentary could be a little more relevent. How about giving some highlights of some big spots after matches, it's looking too generic right now.

Smythe's walk to absolute superstardom was pretty much halted by him last year... Smythe and Fausto has only ended one way for a long time.. which is why Smythe always tries to trick him...
