Good cause I stole your finisher without even realizing lol.

I wish I could roll my R's IRL. All I can roll is over for the 3.

The video package begins with a highlight reel of various promotions, ranging from small indie venues to bigger (though still not huge) arenas. The common thread between them all is a luchadora in green and gold; the outfit varies but the colour scheme remains. The most striking aspect is, of course, the mask, with a golden star pattern on the front capped by a raised “blade” at the top. The montage consists of big moves, drives, flips, technical wrestling and all you’d expect from a luchador--though it also has quite a bit of strong striking in as well. After a minute of high-paced action, it fades into an interview, seemingly shot in a hallway, probably in one of those arenas. The luchadora begins to speak, in perfect English albeit with an unmistakable Mexican accent. Lucha: My name is La Estrella Fugaz. In English, that means “Shooting Star.” I have been wrestling for five years now, in Mexico and Japan. Soon, I will be coming to America. As I stand here in Japan, it is tough to say goodbye. I have learned much here. She looks around the hallway before continuing. Estrella: But one of the things I have learned is that to succeed, you must take flight. You must bare your soul to the flash of cameras and the pain of defeat. You must broaden your horizons. And so… I come back to my continent, but not to my country. I come to New York City. I come for OCW. Estrella: There are two reasons for this. OCW is the biggest federation in North America. Therefore, it will have the best competition. The best chance for me to hone my skills… Estrella: More importantly… I have watched OCW in my studies of the art of wrestling. And in it, I have seen not just great competition, and great opponents. Estrella: I have also seen some of the most disgusting acts of villainy. I have seen hatred, and greed. I have seen innocents suffer for the crimes of the guilty. I have seen a company so large… that it does not notice the sickness inside itself. Estrella:I do see those who fight the good fight. But it is not enough to fight; you must win. And you must destroy those who abuse power, who abuse goodness. They are a cancer. They will spread if allowed to. I refuse. I have seen too much of that in my life already. Good people of OCW... I will fight for you. I will banish the evil in your company. La Estrella Fugaz is coming… and there will be Justice. She stares into the camera with fire in her eyes as we fade out.

Did Bray just get a feud with Mad Mike by wearing his face? Killer promo by the way. Thoughts on the show coming, I dunno. Tomorrow or something. Harder to type them out when you already said them in VP.
-
We already ask people send us stuff pertinent to the angle or that will come up during the match--Matsuda's return, for instance, I didn't have warning of so I had no idea who he was. Or why Bray wasn't there to help Beta, since that was explained in an RP. But yeah, I'd appreciate any info the people feel is necessary to get across.

- Tyson has a nice ent but I think he might be a rapist. Who calls people lunchmeat? A rapist, that’s who. Telos the giant coward immediately goes for a chair… why? Drops it in the ring and then leaves… WHY? Lotta thirst in that 3 way, Tre was the only one observing the ethics of waiting until someone has gotten up and faced you to fight them--a multiman reset, essentially. Not in the rules but it’s what’s cool to do, don’tcha know. - RP with Nice Rust, Female Rust and Regular Rust. Aisu has a match at supershow. Not too interested in this alt--it’s nice to see him play face, but I think I woulda just had Zoe as the face alt. Easier to focus on just one character rather than two who occupy similar spaces. - The Merch Wars continue! The capitalist in me shivers. - Aw shit Quartz and Rust have finally had enough. Great promo, lots of energy. Not gonna let FAME hold them down but still explicitly heel. - I’m laughing imagining Drago’s aneurysm face. And also the brick. And also this: Drago: We invite MatsudAaAaaAaAA! But once again he ruin thing and we find other Asian. There is always another asian! Ask Hollywood, you switch ‘em and nobody notices. - Handicap match was…. a match. Hard for those to be good. - Dragana buries even injuries! Back in action soon? - Nice hype video with Bray and TLBS bar a couple audio issues and confusing moments; Blacksmith has almost turned face out of pure DETERMINATION! - H2O being a bit heel again. Welllll, it's the medium show. - Scumstico has a gud theme and attire. MC SHIEK O. Poor guy got wafflestomped during the match, Drago got to showcase every single move including just knocking his ass out on his feet with one punch… Mistico couldn’t catch a break. Trust me, I know the feel. - Decent promo from Saturn, though I would have had him physically threaten Jim himself--there’s no way he’d have pull over staffers yet. Classic heel with the “It’s not rotten… IT’S WORSE!!!” line. - Nice titantron. And better attire on Terra than before. Great promo IMO, keeping the kindness angle but finally standing up for JUSTICE. I predict an extra shot of that in the women’s division in the coming weeks… - Mistico might be bad guy… but that does not mean he bad guy? Drago’s right, it IS kinda weird. I assume the Scumciety pairing was sort of an emergency “next reliable guy” one. - Poor Kass… that table fucked him on the sunset bomb off the ropes. And on the regular one after the nutshot. Truly, “I am the table” persists even in the videogames. All it would take is one clothesline/rope move while they were on those ropes… both men hit inside moves though. Whoops! Good match, Kass had the advantage super hard most of the time, and the ending took a bit too long to get to. - Great stuff between Bobby and Dupree, seems to be the men’s ME stuff on Riot with the most direction right now. History and a good basic setup. Gonna be a banger match! - Valk sure loves that same repeated royalty free guitar track. Just dub in some crowd noise! Great promo though, laying it on a li’l thick with how much of a GOOD PERSON she is and how EVERYONE IS AGAINST HER… then JCS turns the mic off. Keeps making me question who’s right. Good line with the bedroom joke. They’re really getting at each other’s throats! - CROWN OF THORNS, FEET OF CLAY! Jehst is always a writer with a talent in slick wordplay. Capo’s been in and out, but a good build heading into PPV handicapped by IRL situations. - Jay lets Quartz off the cowboy hook. Thank god. Anyone else wearing denim is a threat to my gimmick. - H2O texts a mystery man. Maybe it’s another one of his future selves, Or Jake from State Farm. - Matsuda’s theme is hype as fuck. Ent too. Lame that he isn’t actually playing himself tho. Taunt to get bodied! Sneaky fucker diving inside the ring between his legs on that axe-handle. Nice Imugenation spots. Win for Notsuda after the expected 20 minute spotfest. - Great ending segment. Exciting, big moment and a big opportunity for Doc Green to do the rookie dream and grab that gold at pay-per-view. Jay has had enough of FAME, cracks show in the alliance, and lots of heated exchanges. Top quality writing of each character. BUT! What I said in chat still stands. I find it odd that we have this big overarching heel faction--and that’s what it is, I don’t care if Pugh wants to grab the thesaurus and claim it’s AKSHUALLY some other similar word. But I find it odd that we have this faction, right? Perfectly poised to be resisted by his old foe at the head of his own team… with the meddling hands of Kass and Spider taking advantage any way they can in team number 3… but instead we get each group playing in their own side of the sandbox for the past month, seemingly little communication between them. Minio with Dupree, and Doc with Pugh are the only members of OCW to meaningfully interact against this huge threat. We started with TTT, Inception and FAME in a 3-way promo, poised to clash, but again… instead of changing the face of the sandbox they all sat in their corners and started something else. So now after a month of fiddling around, Pugh’s holeshot is to grab a rookie and feud with them, have Sensation reveal that he was never really on their side, and sow tensions in the group. That’s all well and good, it’s still HOT, but it just feels like it bypassed the entire first part of what should have happened. FAME arrive, wreck house, OCW unites, easily or not, and THEN you show the cracks and have them be the turning point. Instead it feels like we just had them hit the EMERGENCY FEUD MAKER button with Doc and have Ortiz as backup. And Harvey and Kass fight again, which is something I would have saved for after the FAME angle is done, with Kass re-establishing as top heel. Or maybe at a vulnerable moment during an alliance of need. Harvey/Kass can still be a draw, it was just the wrong build. Kassidy hasn’t really interacted with or tried to pull in Valk much… nor interacted with Harvey much… H2O just fought his own inner demons and then suddenly kinda dropped in and went “Hey I’m fighting Kass, grr.” And the Doc hotshot also affects CQC, with them fighting the #2 contenders with Inception instead of Uncrowned. All well and good, still a face team--and Inception could definitely use the prestige boost of holding the tag titles--but it kinda kneecaps the (good) build between CQC and Uncrowned. I’m sure they can go back to it, I guess? Doc comin out with 3 belts like Ultimo Dragon? No hard feelings against Doc or anything, please don’t try to make this a jealousy thing--I’m sure it’ll be a great match and it’ll certainly make people excited to see the PPV--but it feels like a hotshotted emergency moment rather than a crescendo. - Turmoil, on the other hand, has some dead ringers right now with Trance/Wrex and Bray/Blacksmith. Women’s division is going strong with the multilayered Valk/Moore/etc angle involving and benefitting tons of characters and being IMO the #2 feud behind Wrex and Trance. The comes Minio/Dupree, which is followed by Bray/TLBS. Code/B17 has had ups and downs but has generally been strong when needed. Pugh/Doc of course COULD be a #1 big time deal, we’ll see when PPV comes, but I don’t want to call it a feud when it was a one-and-done tag match that became a continuing thing at the last minute. If it follows through, though, definitely a draw coming into the next month. We will see, I guess.

Short notes on this and maybe the last Riot if I'm confused: - JT/Billy Saturn are both pretty amusing and unique. Good stuff lads, keep it up. - Noticed during the last Winters match how quick she got the leg damage in... if people are cutting down on sub defense and limb defense in order to use the stats in body/head bulk or offense, limb work could sneak up on people. Interesting. - Last two matches are great examples of the competitive w/o thirst mindset--specifically, Lee kicks out of a Bingo Bomb, so when B17 hits #2, he goes kayfabe and decides that isn't enough, he needs to hit a punch too! That gets countered and so the match keeps on going, giving up a pin opportunity, but it tells more of a story. Turmoil's ME stuff has been great in general, and Aries now looks like the meanest gosh darn cowboy this side of Annesburg!

Solomon is a decent caw, little simple on the look but a british indie vibe. Nice theme. Simple ent, not much lighting and motions, blends well with the theme for that no nonsense fighter feel. I think Tayy’s ent needs more upbeat/fast lighting to fit the beat of the song, maybe not quite strobe but like that hardy boyz flashy rainbow or Naomi’s club stuff. Nice theme, CAW and moveset, Mark. I think Tayy went a little easy on you there with the rev advantage he had, but… We’ve already gone over the typos in that one promo but please let “SEXY MAN ALIVE” become a meme shirt like “He hate me.” Empress’s CAW and attire are amazing, like almost looks real levels. That psychotic grin makes me feel funny feelings. Moore fabricating things again… nice video content, despite of course the wackiness of visualized fake flashbacks… also I laughed at the enema line. Valk/Johnny Law was amazing here, he really hit the nail on the head with the doubts, whereas valk also brought up valid points. The thot plickens. Like sparks’ attire and ent theme of monochrome… not sure bout the burger king crown. Better luck next time, B17 takes no prisoners. Theme song kinda reminds me of Vengeance by BOC. Blaine’s scary and mean… but she’s in the right. The following murder is the responsibility of Valk incorporated. DDP ALERT: THAT’S NOT A BAD THING! WAIT, NO, IT IS! WWE BOOKED ME LIKE SHIT! Ace/Dragana was also very good, the feud has been a bit… cartoony weird kinda stop and start to me but this segment was good. Another cliffhanger, which is wrestling booking 101, leaving the fans with a question they have to tune in to have answered. I hope JT isn’t another alt, I like the idea of this weird guy running around emphasizing words like a 50’s superhero comic. Fucking joggers and their energy. I bet he’s a morning person. Jesus Monte Chris Rock that HIAC. I agree with the match type being overboard… and the 2nd climb being debatable choice… but wow, the spots. Brutal. This loss also helps the “Ace is in Dragana’s head/Dragana loses her mojo” storyline. This promo went postmatch despite being a prematch interview, but oh well. That steaks line is gonna be a good catchphrase. I also like that he’s nervous and does the Sid Vicious live gaffe. A grounded character, the humbleness should help make sure anyone he suplexes into a coma doesn’t get buried TOO hard. Jacob Trance going back to his more psycho roots. Good segment. The deal is made… retirement is within his grasp… unfortunately Wrex will probably paralyze him before the retirement just to be a dick. Enjoy the home, gramps! Damn that promo after the cell. Like I said, very subtle storytelling--for wrestling that is. Johnny, Dragana and Valk all have reasons to feel the way they do. Emoshuns.

Will post full thoughts when I read the show tomorrow, but I think Drago gets "slept on" because he's like never the best writing on the show but is also never worse than 2nd or 3rd best. The curse of the bassist kind of deal--a job done very well goes less noticed than one done exceptionally or badly. Kinda hard to comment on comedy stuff besides "haha what a story mark," but I've been liking the hints to Dragana's past and such on the past few shows. Also appreciate the VGM music even if I end up muting it to play whatever album I'm listening to over it lol. In the ring of course he's definitely a cut above, the 100% cleanest high-skill player IMO.

- Some interesting video to start… was that made with WWE PC mods? Getting mycareer only or non-selectable cutscenes? It looks in a different engine or something, did they use SFM or somethin’ to animate it? Whatever it was, cool beans. Valk just wants in, no big deal, not gonna blow any houses down or DDT innocent employees on concrete. Oops! While I think last week’s interference in the blain match was 100% heel, this is still possibly rebel face territory… Moore DOES deserve it. Very much liking the slow-burn-turn. Lots of dimensions. - Moore realizes that boxes are perfect for sneaking missions. - And H2O kicks Valk out! Oh shit! He might be trying to do the right thing but she’s already had problems with allies abandoning her, so… this might push Stone Cold Valk over the edge! H2O and relationships just do not mix apparently. - Quartz… if you wanna be RVD you gotta beat Cena. Good luck whole gosh darn heckin’ hootenanny! - Great promo from Dupree. Sell the anger that the face is getting one up on you. Wrestling 101. OCW’s turnover rate must be high as FUCK by now… where they getting the new employees? We don’t want a “Vampiro’s music” situation here… - Nice concise promo from Alyssa. The nerd reference per sentence rate on this is over 9000. - Really liking that FAME are afraid of Bobby having a mic… puts over his best asset. Row row fight the power and all. Fits with the whole “one man revolution” character. Can’t wait for him to RKO the power-trippers back into 2012 where they belong. - So Jehst doesn’t know why Capo snapped… or is he bluffing? I haven’t commented on the past few shows, but I’ve read them, and Capo’s promo was great, lots of fire and anger and set up an intriguing mystery. Maybe Jehst isn’t the good guy he seems! - For a rookie “I’m the best” promo, I think Saturn’s was very good. It has that intentionally comedic air to it, like Ernest Miller in WCW, as opposed to someone who actually thinks they’re god’s gift to fake wrestling. I imagined him doing that Orton pose as he stood up from the chair. Good name, interested to see if the space/weird thing is carried onto the attire… or if he’s like Perry Saturn, and the “Saturn” thing is mostly secondary to the leather club murderer vibe. Who knows! - H2O cuts a promo uh… directly contradicting his actions earlier in the night? He cuts this kind of tweener ANYTHING TO WIN promo about obsession, but he just kicked Valk outta the group for the same exact thing? Inception seems to lack cohesion OOC IMO. He says he lost respect for FAME because they didn’t respect him? Not because they’re fucking with everyone backstage? Kinda weird segment. - And next one is PROPER face from Uncrowned, saving poor Pep from getting bullied and getting Fame’s attention in a negative way. Your main event, impromptu! Don’t fuck it up! - Yeah, my FPR fuckup on that one so I took the pin. Wanted to redo but didn’t happen. Fucking sigs becoming finishers man, I hate it. It’s my most common fuckup because I have my mind set on hitting this move after this sequence, but then something like that happens, one extra rev and boom fin. Fuckin lame! - 'Nother Minio one, likely submitted at the last possible minute but always good. I like the continuity and the build, he really does feel like a lone rebel in a system that’s closing in like the walls of the trash compactor in Star Wars. TFW the guy who screams MOTHERFUCKER into an audience, some kids, is one of the best faces in OCW. - Grab That Auto: P3. Funny and lighthearted as usual. I’m not sure I trust Mugen to be in possession of cubes that make portals. Also, they just let the lion hang out out there? - Really like this segment, worked off the FAME angle as well, with the rookies being forced out and moping around. The past weeks have really made you want FAME outta here in kayfabe--though out of kayfabe they give an appreciated thread of cohesion. As I’m sure I’ve said before, I LOVE big angles that go beyond a few wrestlers or factions, and kind of draw lines between face and heel in the company as a whole. Of course, this kind of thing needs the proper blowoff… not gonna say what I think that IS, but I trust them. - Yeah, why did Flojo attack Empress? She’s the face in the feud, but aligned with a heel faction, so she interrupted to avenge her factionmate? Or what? Seems like we got a real problem with faces randomly doing heel things. Semi weird promo, but the Ganguro Girl line was a fuckin banger. - And our main event. Didn’t talk about the matches this show, because you know me, but I will say… yeah what is it with the heelish faces stuff. I get that FAME insulted them, and it is a huge win, but it kinda messes up the story for the put-upon good guys to be flagrantly rule-breaking… instead of the heels doing it when they’re outmatched. Excuse my Bobby Lashley voice and blowing out the mic on the final pin. - The last couple shows have been real bangers, this one not so much, but still some very bright spots in the Valk and Minio character arcs as well as rookies beating legends.

Shorter notes than everyone else but: - Benji's attire, theme and moveset are great. Put together it gives this confident cocky kind of artsy vibe with the dramatic orchestra sounding strings, etc. Thrace's attire is pretty good and moveset is great, CAW is a little weird (good facepaint but something about that chest is just... unnatural. Looks like he's smuggling hams. Could use skin tweaking too mebbe.) and the theme just doesn't seem to fit. For a warrior type char, perhaps something more intense? As Quartz mentioned as well, he hasn't quite learned to optimize damage. Not Roman themed, I know, but the chanting is cool. Plus, it's hype. Tons of songs about war, especially from bands like Saxon, Sabaton and so on. - That one Quartz line in his RP made me laugh out loud. You know the one. Good match as well, lots of smooth action with the chair and ref bump going off almost to IRL quality. Wish I could do that, every fuckin hardcore match I'm in is a STRUGGLE. Quartz landed with one leg straight up in the air twice, it was very amusing. - Acero Ala debuts (I think.) Nice attire, though the more ornate jewelry thingy kinda clashes with the attire colours. Fucking hate his theme, what's with all these cruisers coming out to generic tropical sounds? HAVE OV MY ARD IZZIN HAVANA OOH NA NA. God that's an annoying chorus! ANYWAY, personal vendetta against basic pop aside... loved the TTT commentary and a clean well-contested match overall. - Minio with the markers in the ceiling reminded me of one of my favorite moments from the X-Files. A trio from him this show, very well done. I personally woulda preferred him to come off the title win strong with some matches, but the "one man revolution" is a good target for the "FAME abusing power" angle. - Flojo vs. Empress is gonna be good, a weeb and an actual japanese person is an interesting combo. Plus both of them go hard on the paint in ring. Flojo's Hiroshima line was an "ooooh she didn't!" moment. - One of the best RPs on the show, with Pugh assaulting Jim Black and getting a writer fired. Dark and shooty. Very nice. Not sure I like that much kayfabe blurring but... ah well. - Handicap was decent, lotta sparkletoes dodging and so on. Moore's theme is great. - My RP with Minio was kinda earmarked for DIRECTLY postmatch but got shoved after a taped promo. And we didn't co-ordinate on what he was doing otherwise so he came out of signing belts to save me but... whatever! - The other RP of the show I'd consider for best, Valk and H2O and their rocky relationship. Both faces but both angry at each other for valid things. Interested to see how this pans out. Also a very "real" feeling segment. - This entry of the Drago/Mugen show was funnier than the last few IMO, probably because I'm big on Alex Wright jokes. I approve... in German. - Pretty good ME, great to see Dupree back. KD didn't parker or crapple this time, hurrah! H2O did break up a pin on a non-championship match this time, which I think is a no-no. And both him and KD played perhaps a bit too heel with the running away when at 0 revs and double teaming. Otherwise good, ending was a surprise--FAME wouldn't allow a loss to be broadcasted? What does Maxwale have to do with this? Find out next time I guess!
-
In that case Bray... it still looks kinda dumb. Colours being like 1 single point away from each other looks bad bruh.
-
- Whopper promo from Bobby. Cements his status as full babyface following the sort of omnidirectional anger of the last feud. Ties it into personal pride (rather than American Pride like I did) and vanquishing his inner demons. Considering Pugh just won a belt on the same PPV Bobby did, after the two’s acrimonious breakup… I see things coming together for them on the horizon. Moreso now that Minio is pure face and Pugh is up there in his ivory wheelchair with FAME trying to hold the little guys down and all. - Great, funny stuff from Tre and AC. An odd couple for sure, but that’s all the better for RPs. Tag scene is getting absolutely stacked with teams, fucking finally. - Terra is way too nice. It’s disconcerting. In fact it may even put her opponent off balance! Is she really playing 4D chess?????? - Damian and Mistico segue to a good way to… introduce(? I don’t remember, sorry) La Hiena. He’s crazy maggle! And Damian sells it well, by at first making fun then running away like a bitch. No need for the quotation marks though. - More good development of the Valk/Moore etc angle. Moore comes in with a plan but ends up more venting than anything else, once again showing the dimension of vulnerability in the heel character. Terra even begins to doubt the overall morality of the OCW lockerroom… perish the thought. We’re all nice people here. - Confused at what the inception RP means by “out there tonight,” as none of them have been out there tonight. Que??? Anyway, good writing, nice and casual as H2O reflects on the state of his group and OCW… perhaps some symbolism with Bobby and Valk riding off alone. - I skipped to the finish of all the matches this show--sue me--but I like that the ending animation had Terra selling her legs. - Blaine shows respect for Dragana and the latter indicates she doesn’t want that belt rematch… vacation time for the silent queen? - Here we hit the first of a few segments where someone pops in and interrupts another promo--I like this very much, it feels like a proper wrestling show. Start with Blacksmith manning up and accepting his loss, but promising more harm in the future… possibly the far future. Bray interrupts and--OK Bray, you didn’t even colour match the white of the japanese flag to the shirt. Fuck me. ANYWAY, big ego from Brayonnaise, seeming more consistent of character than before. He’s good at the “I’m better than you” gimmick. Remember, everyone, weeaboo superiority complexes are real! Blacksmith responds, promising pain for Bray as well should he step onto his turf. I like Blacksmith’s character as the ostensible heel who still doesn’t back down or act a coward. Bray responds in a brilliant Rock-esque moment by pretending he wasn’t paying attention, slapping Blacksmith in the face and dipping out of the ring. Great character work from both. - Very good old-school promo from Maxwale. One man, one camera, one line to switch the gear of the promo from “I’m sorry” to “fuck yourself.” - FAME: Active, informed, and ready to… do something. Whatever they’re gonna do, it’s gonna be very condescending! - I dunno who’s playing this Corn Ricketts guy but the character is so “me” I think I should sue. OCW needs more old school fat guys to make body splashes a feared devastating maneuver! - More interruption/classic TV brawl as Empress takes out OCW’s 2nd nicest person (next to Terra), Belle. Sells Empress as an out of control crazy woman. Good. - The MEGA POWERS are here! And they lose. Oh well. Good attires. - Johnny and Dragana reflect on their situation. Both seem to be relieved about the belt being out of their hands, but relief is in short supply when the 6 foot 5 grandma with muscles is around. BERTHA’s name being in all caps is a nice touch… as is the Dupree joke. - Best RP from CQC and Uncrowned in a while… CQC are equal parts hilarious and hateable, and Uncrowned show the warranted fire in response to their opponents’ shenanigans after the attack. The left belt/right belt shtick was very inventive, like a classic comedy gag. All characters played to a tee. - Sadness reigns in Megaland as Aries and Lee mope after their failure. It happens to the best of us. And Lee. - Jackman! What did Flojo ever do to you? - H2O kinda heels out on Drago! Who, in his characteristic fashion, politely and quietly asserts “no u.” - Jackman is losing his tenuous grip on reality… thankfully an equally delusional weeaboo is there to keep him… grounded? Bray’s lost the disgustin’ beard, thank god, but the fact he looks better in B17 cosplay than normally should be a hint. Fix. Yo. Attire. Great promo though, brings up some OOC frustrations and blends it well with IC. Like most of the best heel turns, he does have a reason… he just takes it too far. And too neckbeardy. Looks like Bray has finally nailed down a consistent character to work with, and if Cort was on PS4, there’d be hell to pay for his anti-american comments, hoo rah! - Seeds are sown… is Sensation blinded by his love for legends and kowtowing to FAME’s plans? Valk is right, handicaps ARE BS! Just because that shit happened all the time in the wacky days of old don’t mean it has a place in these much less wacky… nevermind. Valk is 100% in the right here, as Jay lets out his inner Jay (flipping out over something and going on an I AM THE BOSS trip). - Nice Hart Foundation attire from CQC… minus the giant “ANVIL” across Rusty’s ass. Nobody’s ever called him that, and they don’t exist in OCW canon, so… shoulda replaced that with something that makes sense. Shart Foundation, I shall call them. - Shame that Jehst is out injured again during his IRL move--we’ll see if this hurts the Capo feud or if they can keep the heat up. - Not sure about the blue attire+hair look for Bingo... - WOW. That’s my word for this last segment. Wrex has a great ent, loud and aggressive and triumphant. Nice tron, very simple and memorable. Wrex shits on the belt, Trance, and OCW as a whole… but Trance doesn’t take anything lying down, and tears through the OCW employees and locker room on his way to the ring! This shit was fuckin’ awesome, really did feel like a real show in the attitude era, with Stone Cold stunning everyone in sight as he heads down to face McMahon. Poor guy who taunted and got his head beat in… Fury puts up a fight but gets laid out as Trance comes for Wrex! - Scumciety are too many and the uncaged animal Trance is eventually subdued with the help of a pipe… but here comes Austin Lee to help? No! Aries turns on him and lays him out, forcing the beaten and cuffed Trance to watch him attack Aerith! Holy shit! Looks like the Mega Powers exploded on the same show they formed… d’oh. It’s like a movie with all the betrayal going on! One of the best segments I’ve seen in OCW, period. Can’t say enough about how awesome this was, from the editing of the long video segment to the emotion-filled writing a the end. Top shit gentlemen. - OVERALL, 10/10 written show. Everyone seems to have DIRECTION and MOMENTUM. everything seems to be going somewhere. Skipped the matches because yeah, that’s what I do sometimes, but writing and video segment wise this was the bomb diggity, or whatever the kids say. BEST goes to the Scumciety segment, no question. On another show, we have three main contenders: Bray’s anti-american, anti-fans and anti-OCW rant with Code, Minio’s heartfelt victory promo and changing of priorities, and the CQC/Uncrowned build for their title match. I know Quartz goes GEE GUYS GREAT JOB after every show because his nose is browner than the shag carpet inside a porno van, but this time it was warranted. Great job team.

Bookerman is trying to toughen her up! Also stacked card. Time for the salty runback a season in the making.

- Nice show teaser… taking the RKO isn’t a bad spot I guess. Cough. Might be relevant later on. - I feel like Enter Sandman is such an obvious entrance theme choice that I can’t give it full props; good song though. Bobby Minio has a support structure of men who know how to grind, and Tyson Wagner returns from FPR exile to team with KD, who breaks FPR like chicken necks. I’m sure this will be a good combo. Not so sure about having an alt in the same group as the main; I guess it works with him tagging with KD but it kinda dilutes the group. Solid promo. - MATCH: Drago Vs. TLBS - Decent match, not much to say except that nobody is ready for Drago! Nasty bump on the table edge. Too many times TLBS turned his back… and was polite enough to follow FPR on the ground reversal at the end. Got uppercutted to kingdom come for it, though. Also, I didn’t know that was Matsuda until Quartz said so. If you’re gonna do something like that and haven’t been here in a while, give us a note please. I know some of y’all are fetishistically opposed to spoilers and/or super educated on our past, but I’d personally like to avoid an “it’s… it’s Christian” moment. - Quartz promo. Not much to say, it was fine. Did its job. - Same with Jackman’s, check yo grammar though. - The way Capo writes “scumbag laugh” in with the dialogue makes me think he’s saying SCUMBAG LAUGH out loud. - Some weird formatting here and there… coulda used another run of editing. But who is da mayun behind the mask? - Lee bullies Terra but can’t spell “ne’er do well.” Typical! I swear Terra just exists to make everyone reading feel bad. Stand up for yourself, girl! OCW will ruin you! - Nice concise promo from Winters. - MATCH: Tayy vs Telos - Telos is still crispy. Also his snakeskin jacket ceases being snakeskin around the shoulders. Good chemistry with commentary, though. They kinda wander up and down the ramp? Weird. Neither can seem to decide what they’re doing with the objects the other set up. Slight moonwalk. Tayy jumps and the game just decides he shouldn’t hit anything. Ouch. Crapple by Telos, but at least the resulting move looked nasty. Song reference chain on commentary had me laughing. Moonwalk again. - Big miss and Tayy goes through the table… uh… doesn’t that mean he loses? Anyway, nice finish with the taunt and the Canadian destroyer through the table. Great touch with the crowd chant! - Decent match, both players seemed a bit confused occasionally and it went a tad long… could do with less random reshuffling of table and chair positions, but the game is fussy. Commentary was 10/10 this match with the references and all. Ballsy play to have two of your alts in a match where you have to drop one--I know we all like Dillinger and I’ll miss a managerial presence in OCW, but it’s the right conclusion storyline wise for the face to win and complete his comeback/redemption. - Are vengeance and revenge not the literal same thing? Anyway. Good promo, Damian gets over his dickitude while leaving the door open for Mistico to turn eventually. - TLBS once again set back. Tom (who?) is right, and it’s surprising of TLBS to not attack him. His heel character has a few dimensions, it seems. Blacksmith takes his taking-to and remains resolute. - Once again, nice video content from Empress. “What’s a Flojo,” they ask. Harsh. - Valk--who, by the way, is NOT heel--is ding-dong ditched by Moore in an attempt to gain a countout victory. Thankfully she’s saved by her annoying friend and a fat dude with disposable income. - MATCH: 6 MAN TAG - Good action despite the clusterfuck, some parkers from Damian though. Nice spots where each team get to taunt in ring… Damian seems to crowd after most moves. Like H2O, but worse. The sequence of B17 coming back to beat up both members of Bourneistico was fun, but too long. He kicked out, what, twice, then Damian didn’t pin after a fin, then Damian kicked out… coulda gone shorter for sure. - Note, when I disappeared, it was my PC crashing. That was one of four times that night. Seems to happen mostly when watching vids off the hard drive (tried multiple drives), and I had some artifacts on screen the next day… I think my GPU is dying, friends. Pray for me. I hate being unreliable. - Blaine still a bitch. Solid antagonism between the two for the past weeks, with Blaine not being a full-on heel so much as just too much of a cunt to cheer for. - Sweet justice for Tayy fans, although in my opinion it came too soon. Heenan had decades of annoying fans done with before he finally got thrown out... - That video segment from Mugen and Drago. Great stuff. 100% goofy in tone as usual and that was the worst musical thing I’ve heard in my life, but it was very creative and funny. - MATCH: Moore vs. Valk - Valk uses the classic combo of taunt to get bodied. Jay with the skeevy skeevster gimmick on commentary! I thought I was the only one who inadvertently remarked on such things live. But uh. We also lost that recording. Anyway, curbstomp from Valk, ooh shit Decent match, short and clean. Moore was a bit outclassed but what can you do, it happens. - Matsuda heads into a feud with Drago, aligning himself with his protege Spider and TTT. One addition to an already strong faction. More to come I’m sure. - MATCH: Dragana Vs. Blaine - Big match! This begins the quartet of matches I saw on stream, so I’ll have less in-depth notes as I don’t really wanna watch them again. I will say it was a very good, closely contested match, though the ending was a bit, well. In terms of pure wrestling I’ve never liked too many finisher kickouts--though I understand in a competitive fed it’ll come up. I’m not gonna hop on it as an FPR thing but I’m torn--personally I would have surrendered after the 2nd fin in a row. BUT it made for a dramatic match, a surprising finish, and it didn’t go too TOO long. B17 kicked out a lot in his other match too--maybe I’m just envious of people that can, but I feel like it sorta cheapens things when it’s like… which finisher will they decide not to kick out of. Still best match on the show up to this point. - Uncrowned certainly have a sense of style… I often avoid describing Cort’s clothing besides “street attire” or "ring attire" because I find it a) boring and b) annoying to think of things like that all the time (writing out the fact he’s dressed normally, how the camera moves… commentary intros… so hard not to be repetitive), but doing it can get over the characters. Great promo… - And they’re attacked by CQC! Discoostin’. A classic heel beatdown on some very good faces, will be a good feud match-wise and promos. Riot tag division is much more alive than when I was in it… I’ll take some credit. A little bit. But funny that AWOL won the titles when there was like, one other team, and then CQC won them from us when we were that one other team. Good luck to them. I’ve had enough tag matches for the rest of my goddang life. That and having to prioritize tag titles over singles feuds. That was also annoying. Harder to have a feud with real, you know, personal stakes. But this one might. - And a great moment as Dragana finally speaks, struggling to get over whatever it is that stops her… we’ve had a glimpse at that with the “old country” video Johnny Law showed her and Blaine’s allusions to them both being “freaks.” Blaine shows respect for once! Good show. I do love those classic shows of respect after the tension… Bret/Bulldog ‘92… - MATCH: Shepard (lol he changed his name cause y’all keep mistyping it, god damn) vs. Minio vs… It’s me! It’s me! It’s Dee Dee Pee. - Dunno if I should talk about my own match, but my own inability to kick out doomed me to a loss but also a good finish. Had fun playing this, got to kick some butt for a while. The note I will make is that, with this and the Moore match, and Matsuda’s return… it all went a bit less smoothly commentary wise than possible. By that I mean, I didn’t know Matsuda was coming back. Had I had a note, I would have said something earlier and Jake wouldn't have had to cover me. Commentary on Valk/Moore didn’t know about the RP that set Valk up as being trapped, and I didn’t make it quite clear on my match whether my entrance should be a surprise or not. All three would have benefited from commentary having notes on as to what’s happening, so… I’ll do that next time. - Promo I did at start was done via highlight reel and taunts that make your mouth move--there are like 10 or so, picked the most fitting ones. Ends up making a kind of bootleg RPG-looking talking loop, but better than standing there. Menacingly. Next time I’ll grab something from Pugh for a better text backing. - Terra grows a spine and will not be bullied! Until the next time she is. Feels like some sort of anime villain origin story… everyone is mean until one day… superpowers and dead children… Elfen Lied fucked me up man. - Burns is back and attacked! I laughed at the “9 minutes of leg attacks,” as did everyone else I’m sure. MJF… I mean Maxwale has potential. Reminds me of a malicious version of Tom from the Boondocks, with that dance ‘n’ all. - Valk/Alyssa/Moore continues with you almost feeling bad for Moore, and Valkyrie wants to smooth things over… but the epic 1337 streamer ruins it. Damn twitch thots. Skyrim belongs to the nords! - MATCH: Wrex vs. Trance. - Loved it. What a slobberknocker. Just strike after strike after strike, felt like a real fight. One thing is, the Mistico cut I get is for a story… but I really liked the match, shame to see some of it cut. A smooth edit regardless, and a great visual with Wrex beating Trance with his own move after outside interference, and holding the belt high covered in raspberry jam. Old school, baby! Oh, and Trance didn’t conserve reversals for shit, he just kept relying on changing his timing to get moves in without being reversed. Crazy man. - Shepard loses it! Lovely to see the heel freak out after losing. Sweet karma. - Second Capo segment, some weird grammar again with past/current tense and so on. Loved the real enmity between him and Jehst, though. Felt like a movie. WHY’D YA DO IT, JIM???? - MATCH: TTTRIPLE THREAT: Pugh/Kass/H2O - Great assortment of spots in this match, from H2O going all out at the start, to Pugh’s early pin attempt, to H2O trying for one too many immediate postmove attacks and getting surprise finned! Big win for Pugh, and after the match… VINCE MCMAHON IS THE HIGHER POWER! Or, Tiberius Dupree and Nate Ortiz. Big big returns this show, and OCW’s array of factions deepens. Now please let this actually result in some sort of faction war, Inception and TTT have been blue-balling me, poised to do battle but seem to have mostly faced off by proxy… I want WCW shit, gentlemen. The good shit, not the bad shit. You know what I mean. - Great show. Nice and light on RPs, bunch of matches, huge returns and surprise title changes. Just get commentary some notes on surprise events or stuff established on RPs we won’t have seen. - Match ranking, I’d say the three best matches were the last three on the card--maybe Dragana/Blaine can usurp our triple threat, I dunno. Wrex/Trance might have been my #1 but for the abridged/story conclusion, so the final triple threat edges it out. - For segments/RPs, there was a lot of video content. Hard to choose, in terms of emotional impact Jehst/Capo and Dragana/Blaine postmatch are up there. Amusement factor, Drago and Mugen’s Matsuda voice crack song. Mechanically great writing, Uncrowned. Pick your poison… - Final note: I do agree with Quartz, I think the Valk/Winters friendship is nuanced and fairly realistic. We all have that one friend who drags us into trouble. Maybe some of you don’t have friends. I don’t know.

Unless someone kicks out of three of his finishers

1. I definitely think the forums could be better. I don't give a fuck how they look, I just mean fewer sections, NO kayfabe titles for them. Match cards, shows, extra content, promo room, off topic, info. All the topics you need. None of this banana sundae/xpac fanfiction ONLY (last posted in 2003) subsection stuff. 2. Again I think my problem with your ideas for growth is that they'd just make it less fun for me (and maybe other people) in sacrifice to a better format. Ambition is so nice and digestible... but Cort, Bobby Minio, Quartz, etc could not exist on it in the way they do here. The scheduled promo idea is interesting, I won't DISMISS it--but I think again the end result would be that in favour of smoother format we sacrifice people's ability to make their own choices. It would also make more work for bookers, as now instead of creating matches and letting people react naturally, they must decide who will react as well. 3. Say we go, like, 2 weeks per show. Much more time, all show can be commentary. Trim it down, scheduled promos, ambition production etc. Now, that's a best case scenario--how many more people really would watch? Wrestling is a niche. Efeds are a niche of that niche. We ain't esports--even at the BEST content presented in the MOST digestible way, we will never be that big. Best we can aim for are the popular non meme universe modes. VGCW is probably the star icon of success in WWE roleplaying and that had the core meme concept of "videogame characters fighting in WWE" to gather an audience, along with a stream-only format that was possible because of Story Creator. And that's basically the core of it. The site could easily be presented better, for sure. That's a completely possible change. Now, changing how we book and so on... I'm not so sure. Even if we only had the BEST segments on each show, that's still more reading than your average Fortnite Zoomer wants to do... I don't feel we could achieve "mainstream" success without sacrificing some of what makes it engaging to be here. BUT... if there was some sort of universally-accepted manner of shortening shows... I think it would increase internal engagement. There are, as Valk said, maybe 6-10 of us who read every show and try and remember everything. Probably half of those people enjoy doing that, haha. The rest skim to the people and matches they like. Shorter shows would give more exposure to whoever's on them... but with a large and everchanging roster, it would also put people out in the shade.
