I'll have to agree with most of AA's comments & overall Riot wasn't bad, but not excellent either. Somewhere in the middle on the good side of things.

Well Steve that may be the case but we still don't even know if the gameplay is workable. And like I said 08 is most likely going to have near identical mechanics to 09 minus tag matches. So getting 08 down pat now is going to give us a head start on 09.

One of the 1st things THQ does when they announce the new game is hype if they've re-vamped gameplay mechanics. This hasn't been done for 09 & wasn't even mentioned in the interview (aside from tag matches of course). This makes it pretty damn likely that 09 will pretty much play almost exactly as 08. Thus, switching back to 07 will likely be 2 steps back instead of just 1. 95% of the people here are great w/08 fpr. Ethics needs work but we learn as we go right? If we work now to perfect 08's ethic work then we will already have a HUGE leap forward in breaking in 09! That's looking at it from a logical standpoint whether you like the game or not. This is what's best for OCW's future rather than the present. **As an absolute last resort we could possibly change Turmoil to 07 and keep Riot 08 or vice versa till the new game comes out. And one last thing, people should probably quit looking to the TNA game as a savior. Even if gameplay gets worked out right there's no way on their 1st time around their creation modes can be as down pat as SVR's & that's what OCW thrives on.

I like 08 too it mixes things up more. Yes the dynamics are different & it's easier to pick up but it has also helped good spots, videos, options, matches, & storylines that helped get me into OCW. AA's right keep 08 just be 100% clear on what's being cheesy since it's blurry right now. That ought to help things and if there's still problems go from there. I honestly think more of the roster will be gone if 07 is what we keep. I know at least all 3 members of Death Row will be done for certain. If it comes down to it why not have an 07 show and an 08 show if the numbers are right? Everybody's happy & there's still 2 shows to follow. Ambition (if kept) can be a blend of 07 & 08 matches of lower-tier guys. Ideally I say keep 08 until 09 comes out. Transitioning at this point would be a disaster and would take too long to get it rolling.

08 doesn't make for one big blob of people that are practically equal as many say...it does take skill it's just got different game mechanics to learn. If people weren't good in the last game they could be good now. It's not cause it's easier to get very good, it just has an easy learning curve so you know what does what. There's a difference. And if it doesn't take skill why can't some guys like Valmont seem to win? How come there are distinct mid-carders or upper mid-carders like Cross, Bold, & Bauer who can beat each other but almost always lose to the main eventers like Ortiz, Kage, & Fausto? There is a difference whether people like to admit it or not. It's not so much that anyone can beat anyone all the time, it's more of like maybe a mid-carder's style is a bad matchup for one of the main-eventers on a given night or something.... People need to stop making the game out so that everyone's on an equal plane. This isn't kindergarden. Not everyone is special. & on a side note Melissa Midwest is fuckin hot

Agreed completely. Instead of talking about how the show flows we're back on the unwinnable debate of SVR 08 sucking or not and how it should be played.... I disagree Val there are plenty of people who fight alike but there are more who fight differently. Like someone said go watch Chino then go watch Nate for example. Look at WWE-that's how we try to model match flow after then there are going to be people who fight alike-in fact there's probably more on tv who fight alike than around here. Smythe is totally right when he says people are guilty of different stuff. No one person is a damn angel in the ring and it's time we start accepting it. Yes, big guys should be more pressing-of-action and less backing away but with someone like Cross he's whipping more often instead of using a million stun grapples or strikes....it's like trading one evil instead of another and not one person here is completely innocent. We've made the best of it so far, why not try to continue and improve on the details we're getting so heated over rather than have be all, end all arguments or ultimatums.

Good Cross Exam & Wonder Report. Very thorough stuff. Forgot to say Bauer picking himself was a great twist! & I do agree about Malu now that you mention it Smythe....takes more than 1 to jump him....However I think that Cross's win won't be forgotten because it was a pick-your-poison & also both he and Bold won them so the whole feud seems stronger & less forgettable than if one of them would've won & the other would've lost. & though you and Cross may have liked my match I don't. I don't think it's really that good of a match either. I do okay & then play like shit & Parker owns me. Nothing remotely near good. The only thing I really mark for in that match was when he blasts me w/a chair shot & I get pumped up and taunt only to be put down immediately by a 2nd chair shot. I do agree post-lution would've been the best time for this match which I had stated before a few times....but maybe after a few W's a feud can happen after all....hear that Parker?

Not bad all in all with a few distinct highlights for me. The W's for Cross & Bold this week help their feud develop nicely. The "strangers" were a nice touch as well. The Trips/MMM segment was a pretty unique idea that was pretty badass. p.s. Congratulations Parker. You were the better man....hope to fight again for it in the near future. & on a side note Smythe's music is really starting to grow on me....damn

Didn't you renounce 08 in favor of 07? I couldn't be judging your matches then could I? I'm saying "you" as in general not you personally Steve.

Smythe I have to disagree about the ME. MMM leaving Trips to fend for himself against one guy was exactly how it should be. MMM is supposed to be weird, mysterious, and a loner. On top of all that he HATES Trips. MMM was only his partner as long as he needed to be. Once his part was done, he got the hell out of there and it made sense storyline-wise. Now if we could we would've had MMM walk to the back to completely show that he just abandoned Trips while I stay because I'm actually concerned for my tag partner but unfortunately you can't move after escaping. That's about as further as we could've taken it with that one but it wasn't possible unfortunately.

I liked the opener as well and Tyro I'm likin the custom intro it definitely works. People shouldn't be asking "Who is Tyro Kraven?" they should already know. Liked the crazy ladder missile dropkick too. That was sweet. It was a pleasure ME'ing a good Turmoil like this week's and I hope you guys liked the ME. **On a side note when MMM accidently chokes Trips in the match it does make sense storyline wise-they hate each other after all lol
