  1. This pretty much is how I look at it, too. As long as we don't get to a point where people are spamming pin moves or flavor pins after every late match move to get the sudden death win, nothing to worry about. Stuff like this is why we have the submission rules and such in place as well.
  2. Nate Ortiz walks into the room for his sit-down interview at the Sensational Compound in Puerto Rico, one day before his match at OCW’s 19th Summercide. Stacy: Nate, thanks for joining me today. First off, how does it feel coming into Summercide not knowing your opponent? Nate: It feels like a slap in the face, honestly. To go from headlining the very first iteration of this 20 years ago, to being put at the leisure of Tiberius Dupree of all people is a joke! Stacy: What is it with you and Tiberius Dupree? You’ve fought and teamed up many times over the years, yet you two still have so much animosity for each other. Nate: There was a time when I couldn’t be touched by anyone, Stacy. Inside those 4 corners, there was no one better. I put this place on my back, and I thought I left it in a good place. Nate: I stepped away Stacy and this place went to shit. It took an ambitious group of 4 to bring things back to where I left them. Dupree was at the top of that group. At Summercide 2013, I was embarrassed. He was the first one to show me that I wasn’t who I once was, and I’ve resented him for it ever since. Nate: But if I’m being honest, that loss lit a fire under me ever since. I took his summer and he made me tap out. Nate shakes his head. Nate: He stole my Wrestlelution Main Event victory from my hands and walked away before I could get my get back. And I hate him for that. Nate: It’s why regardless of whatever shade of the rainbow his personality falls on, I’ll always have to get back at Quartz, even Drago, whom I may never defeat. However, I will always try. Stacy: Speaking of Quartz, how will being the referee in the CCW Championship match impact your own title defense? Nate: I’ve been at this a long time, Stacy. I know how to compartmentalize things. I’m just there to make sure Quartz doesn’t try to pull some garbage like his little run-in during the last CCW Championship match. But know this, If the red guy puts his hands on me, I will respond with force. Stacy: Given the length of your career and the toll that it's taken on your body, do you see yourself winding it down soon? Nate: Are you calling me old, Stacy? Am I “The Elderly” or today’s new word, a “Relic”? I’m not a damn statue that is whethering as the season of OCW go on and on. To be called that is a bigger slap in the face than not having an opponent for Summercide. Nate: I’ve been as active in my “old age” as some of these pups with 3-4 years on their belts. I’m not a “Relic” I’m the Greatest of All Time. In fact, Greater than that. The list of accolades is too long to list. Saturday, I add yet another page in this 20-year story. Nate thanks Stacy and stands up, observing the ocean view as the scene fades.
  3. Well I do know I don’t like your voice! But seriously I feel 2022 Cena like when I play lol. Appreciate you writing the words. As old school as a written promo. ❤️
  4. It will be forgotten but there’s smashing a newbie and then what that was. Not the biggest fan of it. Keep your chin up rook and use it as motivation. I once got cracked with 3 fins in a row for no reason other than to embarrass me. Took some time but I got mine back.
  5. KD thank you for being OCW’s biggest fan for the last 15 years.
  6. I did not know it was an auto stand up or I wouldn’t have done it. Universe 2 Nate 0
  7. Just have to say I have not once pulled the I’m Nate card give me a shot now. Didn’t happen here. When Jay said this was happening there was no better place for a one off match with a guy I haven’t gotten to have a proper 1v1 against since what 2020. Also didn’t see anyone say it’s for the championship. Don’t even think the graphics said it. But who knows you might just get what you didn’t want to happen. Sorry if many want Quartz fighting someone else. He wants to kill me and I want to kill him. See you soon champ I’ll see you next week and maybe that championship will go home with me when we leave Japan.
  8. Just for you I’m going to go out there as the longest tenured guy with the least in ring action of anyone, and out do 99% of them folks with the powers I took from your summer!
  9. You can go back and see hey they used to be a tag team. Hey he beat him for the championship. He has one last chance to get it done. EZPZ
  10. The you got to write for the new viewer gripes while valid doesn’t make sense to me. The 4 people involved have multiple years of lore and this close to our Wrestlemania would be the perfect time to take that deep dive to know what that history is. But at least being constructive with the critique was great. I’d personally take the fact that if I was in a world title feud and Jay had to close out with something else as a moment to critique was I decided to do and figure out ways to improve it. It’s not the first or last time a “mid card” feud has closed out a show here. Been catching up on some stuff and I’m the tone and vibe I’m feeling in some chats and reviews just feels off. Some folks seem disregarded just cause of their name. Being someone who had a feud with someone who everyone else just disregarded wasn’t fun. So at least acknowledge the other guys work too. I’m not in the trenches right now with you guys but I’ve been around long enough to see how things work. Some of you all need to remember we don’t shit roses.
  11. Unless Flojo really didn't watch the show I can infer, the 3 matches listed were the ones gooch enjoyed the most, the vids where the the favorites there, and the rp was Gooche's favorite RP. While not expansive its really no different than a KD fav 5.
  12. I know it’s easy to say hey I’ll do this later. But try to just get stuff to recorders ASAP. Tre that look would have been nice for ppv or in the tag. Was kinda sad to see it here. May to weave some stories together. It was a little disjointed but can’t knock the effort. Still gotta watch the rest.
  13. One last time...
  14. Hi long time no see
  15. I was speaking in general, I'd have to go back and rewatch it. But in general the im gonna sit back and wait for the other guy to initiate tactic is something that has been around since 04. It's never been applauded. It falls right in with the moonwalking backing away all the time that people do as well. Like all things in moderation.
  16. I've hated it since I started here in 04. Fortunately, most people don't do it. But you can still notice when it's the only thing that's done. H2O is going to get booed and a broken nose, can't wait.
  17. I think it's been clear Quartz is the big bad in the Rusty feud, and Rust has to play the tweener face roll cause he's been the heel as well. Groups are tight and then they spread out then they come back together. Right now Tony is finding his smile, Rusty has his demon, Danny has gold, and Nate's career is on the line. I'm sure the people involved will keep things going, but since it is comp gotta move things in the way of the win ya know.
  18. Being is OCW for so many eras, it's funny to things cycle around again. It really proves the statement that those who don't know their history are doomed to repeat it. A lot of it comes down to people who used to be there to pass certain things down aren't there to do it. So people come in with their own interpretations of things for better or worse. IE the rookie debut match at a beating which is to be expected. But let us remember the goal of those matches is to see how the rooks do with the cameras on in a pressure situation. If you are gonna just kill them hopefully we're offering some constructive advice as well. The Horseman has grown into one of my faves. Even when I'm like what the hell is going on it advances his stories. The character has a lot of layers and I'm hoping he has a Danny Watts like showing at The Clash. EMP great job with the video, its so hard to balance video length and making sure everyone gets their shine. I think you did very well with it. Just to restate if you didn't see it on Discord, "If you don't pick someone up or use a wake up taunt on your first knockdown, you are essentially giving your opponent a reset" Knocking a guy down and hovering over them until they're standing to attack again is a No. The only time you should be standing over someone waiting is off of a reversal. It's again on of those gray area rules I'd think wouldn't need to be said but it does. Rust please kill Quartz. Looking forward to this one and I like the match type we're going to get. Quarz is so easy to hate and I enjoyed how you all incorporated KD into the ME to add to that story. Iceman good job with your writing in the Carke Effect. So nice to see so much story progression going into a PPV. Remember though PPVs need RPs and such too. Pugh Leaves Town 1 week from today.
  19. I'm glad someone caught my joke there.
  20. Yay new guy using the Morrison method correctly. I'll never say don't drop rps here. But stuff to develop your character is great for shows too. We got Riot coming up next week and The Clash ppv as places to drop stuff as well.
  21. For rookies to know, the Nate character has been at or near the top for 16 years. So its not flaunted much but Nate's like "the rich guy". My bad in the CCW match wasn't on purpose but didn't turn out to bad afterward. Was fun as always playing Bingo. Enjoyed the Rookie match for sure. Had some good laughs and enjoyed the rookie video work. When you even get Kent to smile as a rook you're doing something right. Glad to see Tre and Jehst progressing their stuff. *Non-title feuds matter too folks* More of those we have the better. Proud of my stablemates. Danny played clean but let a few mistakes keep him from a chance at victory. I'm sure Parca would have had a kickout or two if one of those had connected. Tony cleaned up in the tag match just like he was supposed to. The Frenchize did his Frenchize thing. Danny has find his own ride to the jet after this one but he will be let on the plane. I want to give my fellow staff members their flowers too. Jae, Jake, and Bookerman do a lot. Cleaning up mistakes and making plans. We don't appreciate how smooth things are now. So I raise a glass to you. Looking forward to how everything shapes out in the coming year. Let's keep it rocking.
