  1. Not seeing any Team KX mentions. Not sure why.
  2. Post Twitch Stream: - EMP is out of control, so many wild ass segments on this show. I will give a pass on the "overexposure" thing on account of A). - Emp is in control of the whole show and involved in lots of stuff. B). Our build to 600 was only two weeks so only so much time to work with. All that said, my favorite was the Harri/EMP segment where they fought with sabers in EMPS dreams. So well done and convey'd the intended feeling so well. I can't wait for 600. - Bolek's Clark Effect, the feeling was there, your words were there I felt it, but the aesthetic needs some cleaning up. We've all been there. Get your video render settings right and get some background noise for the promo stuff and you're golden. - AISU is the fucking man and might be one of the best babyfaces we have in OCW right now. - Megan Mogandaal's whole persona rules. Her look, moveset, etc is great. Looking forward to more from her in 2K23. (and obviously I love Mina V) - Fuck u Spider - WoV was way too aggro outside in the Colin/Tre match. Didnt' really allow me to enjoy this clash between Colin and Tre that was a rematch from their feud ages ago. Some playing or contact on the outside is fun, but when you do too much it gets busy and seems unfocused or weird. The first part with the call out, the Wolves SPECTACULAR ENTRANCE (AND GEAR) + the ending with the stip stuff was all A+ work, just coulda done without them beating the shit out of Maxx the entire time the match was supposed to be going on. - Jacob Trance did a much better job influencing a match without overdoing it. He got on the apron/involved a little more than usual, but it still didn't feel like too much imo. Love to see guys like John and C-Note in the ME. - Whomever it was (Speculation is Telos) on the Bane-esque segment was LIT! 2K23 is looking up rn. - Moment/video/segment of the night belongs to the returning COLBY MCCALLUM! Man that whole thing is a masterpiece. OCW is cinema sometimes and that's one example. All of the coherent tie-ins, all of the references, the explanation of the absence, it was all awesome. LOVED it so much! - TEAM KX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TELL SCOTTY THAT TEAM KX HAS THE IT FACTOR!

  4. I hope Emp and TOG get an STD.
  5. You may need to consult your video producer. Doesn't really relay "babyface breaking away from oppression" when the crowd is in full +20db BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as you're attacking John Carter and cutting the promo. The crowd noise for me, completely dictated how that segment was perceived.
  6. I think trying to guess what will happen and going through all the possibilities is a fun way to pass time between weeks, though I do agree that coming to your own conclusion on how the story/interaction SHOULD or COULD end and judging off that is a bit hasty. Technically speaking, Aisu never said he was retiring. That's an assumption we all made based on the language. I feel like that was the intention, but if we just look at everything at face value, Aisu was interrupted before his BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, which could have been anything. This was my segment of the night because of that intrigue, the players involved, and the execution, but it's also interesting to see a varied interpretation of those events and how just one assumption can change your whole mindset around it. Yes, thank you Maxx and I could not agree more about your point made at the end regarding volatility. It makes watching every match more fun from a viewer standpoint and definitely provides the air of "anything can happen" which inherently makes feud blowoffs feel bigger scale (especially those that have a ton of effort around the story aspects). As a handler, the volatility also allows more room for creative exploration after a result you could have never predicted, which is always fun for those of us who don't stake our entire mindset on wins and losses.
  7. An official release from OCWFed management confirms rumors that circulated late Friday night on social media. CCW World Champion Inness Quartz, who was interrupted during an in-ring edition of "The Clark Effect", needed to be taken to the hospital following a very high angle chair shot, which clipped Quartz in the back of his head, causing a very deep cut. The assailant, former CCW World Champion Wrex, staked his claim to Quartz' world championship through an apparent collaboration with Christian Garcia. The chairshot was followed up by several stiff shots to the face of Quartz, with the sound of his head bouncing off the mat being heard throughout the Barclay's Center. Rumors of the injury began to circulate as many fans in attendance were audience to a host of medical staff rushing to Quartz' side shortly after the attack. Those watching live on Twitch.tv were not privy to the concern, as the camera remained focused on Wrex throughout the duration of the segment. Quartz was helped to the back by medical staff with several towels over his head attempting to stop the bleeding coming from the back of Quartz head. OCWFed confirmed the extent of the injury this morning, clarifying that Quartz did receive a major cut and required 8 staples in his head after the show. However, officials at OCW are confident that no serious head injury occurred due to the attack. As a precaution, OCW officials have also confirmed that Quartz will not be in the building at RIOT 597. -- Wrex and Quartz' were a part of one of the largest rivalries in modern OCW history 3 years ago, as both men entered an Elimination Chamber match in the main event of Wrestlution 14 along with Kassidy Hayes, Jacob Trance, Rust Cohle, and B17. Before that, he also failed to win back the CCW Championship in two separate triple threat matches with Kassidy Hayes. Despite Quartz' attempts to reconcile, it appears Wrex still places at least some level of blame on Quartz himself for costing him the CCW Championship. The two most recently competed in a highly physical battle in the main event of RIOT on December 2nd, where Wrex emerged victorious, becoming the first man to pin Quartz in a singles match since he captured the CCW Championship in June of last year. The former head of "Scumciety" and founder of the Scumchester Academy Wrestling "school" rejected Quartz' post-match offer of a handshake and attacked him with a lariat. Wrex, who last held world championship gold in January of 2020, has not issued a comment on the situation and is expected to appear on RIOT 597. -- With about a month to go before the 18th Anniversary Show, there will certainly be a lot on Wrex's mind heading into what should be an explosive edition of RIOT 597 this Friday at 7PM ET, live on Twitch.tv/ocwfed.
  8. I don't agree about vetting content, but the users themselves need to take better care of what they're submitting. You should be proud of your contributions to the show each time. While I don't agree about strict, to-the-letter punishments laid out in the handbook, I do agree that we're too lenient. I figured me constantly harassing and annoying people by tagging them in the chat or PMing them would help, but evidently it hasn't, so you're right that more specific actions need to be taken going forward.
  9. Just finished the show. Scattered thoughts: The P3 segment this week was even more bananas than usual. Top notch stuff. Colin and Maxx's continuing relationship was great, tying other pieces of their stories into their future as a team. Deaver and Luis stole the show, but the triple threat match also ruled. OWEN and Mark woulda been match of the night before the FPR break to end it. Mugen's entrance on the first new show of the year >> - I will never not pop. Their promo that followed was exactly as you'd expect, too. Mugen and Doc is just another on a list of dream singles matches we could see this year. Cody Hagen jumping the barricade was amazing. Huge impact made by taking down Greene and Kass (albeit as a cheap shot) SECURITY. Also huge shout out to Greene for an incredible performance against the INT champion. FloJo also putting together a massive upset against Ashley. I'm hoping we get their 10th career match at a PPV at some point this year. The Family is really growing to be a powerhouse and the inclusion (possibly) of McGregor Jr. only makes it more impactful. I have a feeling these fuckboys are going to be the reason John pulls the trigger between now and Lution. I was really pulled in by Megan/Jake's video. Was a bit on the long side, but I didn't mind because the dialogue kept me interested. Excited for Morgan's proper debut next week. TWC's getting a little more complicated with the moving pieces and Jasmin running down John Carter for being at fault for the mess. Interested to see where both of them go in response to the status of TWC. Aisu addressing the crowd on Turmoil! (Please don't join The Family) I thought both KC Barrett promos were fun too. KC has a very unique writing style and does a great job making you visualize the douchey chad way he acts. The Ziggler "on the ground" promo was tremendous stuff lmao. A bummer that Parker had to be replaced, but it is what it is. Enjoyed the tag match anyways and the ending where Sheldon came out to challenge Colin was perfection. That is going to be a workhorse match if I've ever seen one next week. Speaking of Sanctum, they had another great promo, re-establishing themselves. All three members have a unique voice, and they bounce off of each other well. Mac had a huge impact here, the Stone Sour song was NOT too long. Fuck you Kent. It was great. The Iceman live promo also ruled as it usually does, right into the match, which while it wasn't ideal for a main event, still had a lot of meat on it's bones story wise and set up quite a few things for everyone involved. Also I know I was a part of it with Dillinger, but shout out to El Parca for the grandios promo on the last page. It came together perfectly and I'm glad we didn't do a super long video instead. I said in VP this show felt like the attitude era, not the dumb parts like the bad wrestling, gratuitous nudity and blood for no reason, but the chaos and interwoven storylines that display the fact the show is a collection of everyone and not something that exists in little separate bubbles. I enjoyed it a lot. Stop crappling. Stop crappling. Stop crappling. Stop crappling. Stop parkering. And finally stop crappling. It wasn't super egregious on this show (except for OWEN's bc it won him the match), but it shouldn't still be happening. We gotta get it together. I don't wanna fly off the deep end and tell Jay I wanna start suspending people, that's lame. Super dope show though, for real. Great job from everyone on the written and video fronts.
  10. Not if you're teaching him, he won't.
  11. Fuck page 2. I will start this off by saying that, in my opinion, it takes an awful lot to really send off the deep end. It takes a certain "Golden Era" level of attention or lackthereof to piss me off the way I was Friday night. Admittedly, this week was one of the shittiest I've gone through in IRL and perhaps the idea that after it all, OCW would be there to put a smile on my face, only to be shit on 100 different ways, that's probably what did it. Regardless, this show was light on RPs, let's get into it. - Explosive Women's Opening Clark Effect Awesome way to start the show, answers my question about what Furiosa was doing for Clash. I'd maybe have liked something a little longer at this point in her reign. She's had really only two committed feuds (Flo/Terra) and while I love the mystery decision for Lution, this one had/has legs... Though the fact Mujera was with Kasstianity and has that inherent history with Furiosa helps. interested to see how this one goes at Clash. I think given the King/Queen of OCW's rules of NO INTERFERENCE (pure style) being broken and the offender immediately being granted a world title match is shit, but given the context, they did about as well as they could with Emp to make sense of it (more on that later). - Baker vs Samsin There are really only two conclusions to draw from this show. 1. You all are far too comfortable with the leniency dealt thus far FPR wise, the fact staff hasn't burned you to the ground for minor issues is not because they don't matter. It's because they're meant to be accidental and you should be trying to fix them. 2. You realized you aren't facing honest punishment other than Jake PMing you and @ing you in show discussion so you think "lmao who cares lmao" and do it anyways. Either way, nobody looks good here. This match was no different. Baker clearly hasn't read the rulebook since I asked him to return as a fun surprise. I am openly and admittedly a big fan of Baker as a human being, as a handler, and as a character. I take responsibility for not being more thorough in running him through the 2K22 handbook when I asked him to return. I am happy he's here to stay instead of the one-off I maybe expected. We've chatted and he knows he needs to read the rulebook. Everyone who watched knows the rules that were misunderstood/broken and so I don't need to sit here and regurgitate them on the forum. Samsin has had a rough go since returning and I hate that, because I don't think he deserves the blunt of the blame. Between his newness and his dance partners being incapable of holding up their end of the bargain, he's earned a reputation I think should not stick, nor is fair. That said, Samsin, stop crappling. Stop walking away from your opponent after they rev you. It's only minor when it's rare, when you do it after every rev, it's a problem. Aside from that, I honestly couldn't give a fuck about this match after Baker's - not one, but two early fin attempts. That's not even mentioning the "CONTROLLER DISCONNECTED" shit. This match was not worth airing, plain and simple. I trust both users will do better in their next attempt. F- - Parca and Dillinger The comraderie built between Parca and Dillinger warms my heart. I'm involved in it, so no need to try and analyze too much, but I think two really shitty assholes coming together to show each other the error of their own history is such a fun story. - Marisa Interview I respect Marisa's decision to post most/all of her content as videos. I think this was a segment that suffered slightly from that. The inability to elaborate or have freedom "werdz" wise made this one tougher to get into. Not to say it was bad, I love the cliffhanger at the end. "My team is falling apart" is a little dramatic and not the vibe I had at all. Either way, new face Marisa (will talk about that later) + Serious John in the newer phases of their career is an interesting dynamic. - Jasmin & Dragana I have not reviewed the last few shows, but I have really enjoyed Dragana's periodic and impactful appearances, namely with Jasmin. Not a single word spoken here, but development is rich in just 6 lines. - Amber Ray: Parentnapper Now this is clearly not the first time we've seen parent-nappings in OCW. Empress kidnapped Valk's parents and held them in a warehouse for an uncomfortable amount of time too. This video though... This was a trip. This was one of those wrestling things that dives into some real scary shit. You have 2 options when doing this method. 1. You go overly realistic and scary, which could alientate viewers. 2. You keep it light hearted and goofy, which may devalue what you're doing. It's clear Amber went with #1 here. Here's why I'm in favor of it... Marisa has been such an unruly, unstoppable cunt for over 2 years now. She's shown that she's almost incapable of being a sympathetic figure. If your plan is to make us want to cheer for someone who's done what she's done, you gotta go mega extreme. That's what this was. Here's where it's key - Marisa's shift to a "baby" or a sympathetic figure in this story RELIES on her reconciling with her shitty behavior in the past. It RELIES on the heel both acknowledging and making amends for past injustices. If you don't, it has less impact or maybe worse, it comes off as you just shifting alignment for the sake of one feud, which seems even more fragile than the alignment change itself. Either way, with the QOCW bloody beat down + this, It's very clear to me where alignments lie and I'm rooting for Marisa. It's AFTER Clash that will be the most interesting for me in terms of direction. - Bishop's Victory Lap Solid post-match promo from Ambition. Short and sweet and addresses the points Karmine made prior to it. I'd just say taht your brevity and lack of screen time only proves Karmine correct. See you on the next Ambition, nerd. - Scotty X vs OWEN Personally, I do realistically understand if people don't think leaving commentary on is a big deal. Here's my take: We're pre-recorded. You have so many opportunities not just to catch this, but correct it. Can't re-record for whatever reason? Dub it with other audio. Anything. Leaving commentary on in an OCW match is bush league and it helped take me right the fuck out of the match. The match itself brought me back a bit. I love both of these characters, and I REALLY love OWEN's ringwork. After bringing me back, I was unfortunately brought back out because of the beat down and awkward flow. I've been a clear supporter of Scotty so far (and still am) but this was clearly a match that was played to win over anything. Blowouts happen, for sure. I'd encourage everyone to try and find ways to make blowouts interesting if you can. Scotty has potential. I'd like to see a more refined character. So many of your in-ring issues can be overcome with great character work. For me, I remember like what, 2 Scotty X Promos since he's been here? That feud with Samsin was entertaining so let's build on it. Tell us who Scotty is. Tell us why the X matters. Tell me TELL ME what I have to go off of other than a sick theme song and a dominant/indy in-ring persona? Not the worst match on the night, but Scotty still leans a bit too "hardcore PvP" and the adjustment to hybrid will come with time. Looking forward to OWEN/Parca at Clash. Awesome matchup. - C-Note promo The entire C-Note arc doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. He's kept the burn slow and he's even kept his own backstory vague enough that he's been able to work that mystery into this new angle with "The Family". I'm such a huge fan with how organic this entire thing has evolved with Trance and Flojo. C-Note is an awesome character. - Asher/Jones/Barrett Triple Threat Still some crappling issues in this one too. IF YOU GET REVERSED, STOP FUCKING WALKING AWAY FROM YOUR OPPONENT. REVERSE/BREAKER BACK Other than that, honestly, no real complaints about this one. I was able to finally get through a match without a fucking real issue here. I think we've evolved past the need for No Mercy music, personally. I see that as a crutch used by less equipped/talented people in the past to keep interest in that era. For the time, it made sense and was super creative, but we're past that. I don't care for it. @asher - Please do something about the generic trons on your entrance. After your 2021, I say you're too good to just come out to the fucking Turmoil logo. If you don't know how or need someone else to record your ent, then I'd encourage you to figure it out and learn how to stand on your own two feet. If you don't give a shit, then ignore me and keep having fun. On that same note, there is NO REASON. 0. NONE. NADA. That your CAW is not uploaded for your opponent. If you need someone to record your entrance for you, you better be damned sure you give them everything they need to make it work. I'm so sick of hearing excuses and finger pointing about other people. Honestly, it leads to people creating stories in their own head about you. Asher couldn't even be bothered to upload his entrance CAW to have the ent match the contest, so people may assume "Oh he's lost and he's butthurt about it". That immediately takes the viewer out of immersion. OCW and the final product should be your #1 concern whenever you do a match or segment. If you're A. Too salty to accomodate your opponents to put together a match or B. Too fucking lazy. Both are equally bad. Just do better. It's really not that hard to be communicative to a community that relies on you as much as you rely on it. - EMP/Shianne RP This was a good way to explain Mujera/Furiosa past what we saw on stream. EMP's devious mind thinking "sure the reward is high, so I'll make the risk super high as well", that kinda helps even me out on the fact the offender got a huge reward. Of course the women's world wrestling championship is worth it, but how many other talent would risk needing to work with Kasstianity FOR LIFE for that opportunity? Shianne both finding her way into a massive story with Empress (who has a glowing reputation) and also showing up more regularly also makes me happy and reinforces the idea that I made the right call giving Chey an exception. If you're one of the handful of people who threw a little temper tantrum because this "rookie" displayed more gumption and ambition than you did and was granted a reward because of it, then you can go fuck yourself. Look in the mirror and do better, or leave. I hear EoW is hiring. /shrug All in all, as I expected, the words here provided a nice buffer and I enjoyed this one a lot. Empress, even through her sometimes shaky grammar and spelling, is very funny and I honestly see that fault as a positive, since it leads to some crude and hilarious interactions. - VHS Vignette Honestly I missed this on stream, but on rewatch, I'm a huge fan. I'm a wrestling dork guys, you will NEVER EVER disappoint me with "mystery" arcs or confusing segments like this. Low risk/high reward. Looking forward to seeing what it is. - C-Note vs Trance Have already applauded how C-Note has handled his character and presentation from day 1 until now. I'm a big fan, either way. This was a fun stop-gap match that kinda set the pace for the 2nd half of the show. This is a match I'd expect to open. This has the kind of errors I'd expect from a rookie match, those that aren't really a big deal and don't kill the immersion. IF YOU GET REVERSED, STOP FUCKING WALKING AWAY FROM YOUR OPPONENT. REVERSE/BREAKER BACK C-Note, please stop crappling. You've got an awesome finisher, gimmick, character, moveset (generally), just try and refine it a little bit in the ring and keep up the consistent effort story wise and I promise you'll be a star. Like the triple, no real complaints here. I was ready to cut the stream off at this point in the show and this match kept it even enough so that didn't happen (not that I matter in the slightest, but this is my post/opinion so w/e). I'm a HUGE fan of the post-match segment, incorporating so many outside elements and giving us some flavor with The Family, giving that group more presence and OOMPH, which is what you need in wrestling. Keep this stuff coming when possible. - Holiday Amber Perhaps given the timing, they had to fast-track this feud which led to so many crazy thing shappening in such little time. Ideally, the kidnap segment and this happen on different weeks. I do think this did a great job in showing that Marisa isn't just a victim, but is actively pursuing the woman who's executed all of the heinous shit over the last few weeks, but it definitely feels a bit rushed. I don't mean to insinuate that I'm not excited for their PPV match on Saturday, first blood with the women is yet another example of how we've taken a limited platform and turned it into an amazing spectacle. (Shout outs to Aries/Spider and Emp/Valkyrie on this front as well). I am excited for the match, I do with it had a little more time to breath buit we live and learn. - KC Barrett Solo Promo No lie, I am happy Barrett walked out with the win in the triple threat, as he's the most refined and cared for character among the three. His care is reflected well in this RP as well. Completely solo, yet is gives you such great insight over what kind of guy he is. You can infer a lot from a guys appearance/music/entrance/presentation but these words and the AWESOME use of the Morrison Method to set the scene, this is what makes OCW characters stand out and this is what makes motherfuckers care when they end up on a PPV. I enjoyed the starter feud with Chance and I'm so happy KC is sticking around with this kind of character work. I can see KC being a big name if the handler decides he wants to put in the effort long-term. - Ashley Moore vs Alyssa Marceaux Hoo boy. So first off, you won't find a more vocal supporter of Ashley Moore than me, except for maybe Jay. Ashley - from day 1 - has shown up and put in work/effort and been a good hand, even without being all that present in chat. She's a perfect example that you don't need to rub nuts with people behind the scenes to get ahead. Everyone respects Ashley as a handler and a character for good reason. Now into the bad... Alyssa came out on RIOT. That's a fucking embarrassment. There's literally no reason for it. I can't even think up a logical reason that this would make it through to the final stages. I said the same about B17 when his stupid ass did it last year. I've thought about it and as irrelevant as it is, I'm fired up about it because I know both handlers are better than this. I can't believe I have to explain this to adults: OCW IS A COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY AND NOTHING WE DO WORKS WITHOUT ALTRUISM. You get a RIOT entrance sent to you? Tell that dumb MF that they have the wrong show and to re-record. Honestly, not knowing the show you're on happens, but it literally takes like 4 clicks of a mouse to figure it out. This one really pissed me off, and I could go on, but I'm not going to because the parties involved know how poorly this reflects on them. This is a tangent at this point, but I have to say - this whole idea of "This person wasn't 100% kosher to work with/didn't communicate with me perfectly so I'm going to fuck them on purpose" isn't the home run you think it is. I'm not accusing Ashley of maliciously leaving the RIOT entrance in here on Turmoil, but if she had, it doesn't matter. You both look fucking stupid now. Now every time someone watches this, they will only talk about this entrance. Look how long I've spent on it already? If you wanna be selfish, don't you want people to see the match? See your entrance? Your performance? OCW > your petty bullshit. That's a general statement for everyone. Now the match itself - Ashley's transition to 2K22 has sour'd me a bit because they have fallen a bit too far into the "pure PvP" aspect and of anyone, they abuse the shit out of the dodge mechanic. It's not about fairness, it's about watchability. It's definitely fair and within FPR, but it's kinda lame to watch dodge dodge dodge dodge dodge spin kick spin kick spin kick. I have found it easy to give myself a built-in limit per match, if that helps anyone. If you don't care as long as it's not in the rulebook, that's your prerogative. I don't love it. Ashley is the fucking QUEEN and deserves it and honestly even without this quirk. You can't JUST dodge a bunch and be as great as she is. That combined with the reputation she's built as a character, person, and handler make this shit way easier for me to forgive. Ashley is awesome and has been from the jump because she puts in EFFORT. EFFORT always wins out. Even when you make mistakes, EFFORT will correct them. EFFORT was something that was clearly not displayed in Alyssa's entrance, in Baker's FPR, in Asher's Entrance, etc. For Alyssa the character, I've always been okay with her, but this recent evolution had me excited until this show. Any good will the character had with me is out the window now, and that might be a statement on me, but you (Elliott) should look at it as how fragile reputation can be in life and why you should TRY in everything you put forward as long as you care about how it's viewed. I look forward to how she bounces back going forward! That fragility goes both ways and something awesome could easily erase this from memory. - Reese & Nate RP RPOTN for sure. I've loved their work up to this point and I think the pairing has been perfect from the start. Of the feuds on the leadup to Clash and beyond, this one is one I've just been sitting back and enjoying. They haven't relied on big pop moments or crazy brawls like I usually love, but pure unadulterated character work between two of the more well-rounder characters we have in OCW right now. Nate has already done his heavy lifting and even after that, he's able to give his effort in these kinds of segments, providing them the care and attention these characters deserve. #1 match I'm looking forward to at Clash. Sorry, not sorry. - Blacksmith & Hito This has MOSTLY been another feud I've enjoyed sitting back and absorbing. This one was a little trickier, as the cell thing kinda came out of nowhere. Not the stipulation, but this segment. The segment itself was awesome and did what it should have, but w/ a cell, I think a simple promo room deal announcing the cell would be there the week before or some kind of advertisement about it to make sense of the cell's presence would have helped. Either way, "SUDDEN CELL" aside, this told the exact story you'd expect and the shot of Horse walking in with the head on out of the foreground was pure heat. Another match I'm so very excited for next Saturday. The build and matchup between these two has been awesome and I'm glad they committed to a multi-month/long term feud, when we see so many feuds end after a single match these days. - El Parca vs Claudio Stardom Fucking awesome match between two champions who have a lot of momentum. No real notes about the match, very enjoyable and I was very happy this one went off without a hitch since I booked it as the show stealer. Awesome OCW instincts here by all parties to see an opportunity to build off a feud with a booking and using it to their advantage. With Sanctum's recent actions + this, they're clearly leaning into the shit bag behavior, which I like. That is a group that has so much to offer as heels. I'm a little disappointed in the tag teams direction in the 2nd half of 2022, I have immense pride in the tag team ranks in OCW and part of that is because I love tag team wrestling IRL. We need guys to step up and get into those ranks for reasons other than "Lets make a tag team just so we can break up in 2 months". I know I'm a bit of a hypocrite here given Cutlass', but there were IRL factors that led to that, that saddened both Baxter and I greatly to have to go that direction. Rant aside, OWEN and Parca is going to be pure physicality and hatred and they've really handled this feud and the double turn (?) excellently. OWEN knowing how he's viewed and knowing what he has to do to get in the place he wants to be is that wrestling awareness I love to see. Great match. - Deborah x Jas Face Off When I started the program, I didn't realize how amazing it would turn out to be. The organic changes on the fly we made and what we turned it into is a testament to the culture OCW has ingrained on both of us. Jean is a treat to work with. That's all I got on my own segment. - Ashley's Goals Ashley stakes her claim to the women's world title, which I think we maybe don't do enough around here, though I understand not wanting to be a "pixel" whore and make it look like you're only here for one thing. In Ashley's case, she has the context, history and resume to call her shot here and I love it. I also love wrapping in the entire division to help make OCW feel whole instead of a several individual pieces. Ashley still has here eyes on Van Park, so we'll see what comes of that... Either way, the women's division is sparking up quite well in the 2nd half of 2022. 2023 should have some great shit on this side of things. - Concrete Jungle/Tre x Claudio Big ole pop for Tre in this one. I simply love the fact that Parker tried to embarrass Tre and went into business for himself by giving Tre a dancing entrance (when he didn't provide an entrance himself, classic tre) and how badly it backfired. As far as I'm concerned, Tre is one of my more favorable characters right now and him leaning into this fun-loving, aggressive side is way more fun than his hyper serious wrestler guy character. I will say, there's absolutely a part of this that needs to be considered... Would I enjoy this as much if Tre wasn't working directly with Ry/Claudio? Someone who consistently buries 99% of us in work ethic and effort? I don't know that. Time will tell after their feud ends if Tre just fucks off and stops trying or if he grabs the bull by the horns and rides this awesome evolution of his character to the next level. That aside, the segment went a *tad* long, though given the climax I think it was intentional. The length was there to divert your expectations and make the finale so strong. Our mid card title feuds have been handled with fun and care and I can't ask much more than that. Good luck to both Claudio and Tre in their match next Saturday. Keep up the good work. - Main Event/ OCW vs Kasstianity Saga It had to come to blows at some point. I won't comment too much since I was a part of it, but just know we did try our damndest to get the 4v4 as originally planned in here. It just didn't work. Given the situation we found ourselves in, the final product was a ton of fun and we were able to work Rust and KD back into it. Shouts to each of them (and everyone else) for being about as good a sport as you can be given a shitty situation and giving us an awesome main event. Chaos, effort, drama, it had everything I could have asked for. Now, I will put Kassidy Hayes down at clash once and for all and we can put this Kasstianity shit behind us. I can only hope Colin holds up his end of the bargain. I'd express more confidence in him, but he couldn't even be bothered to match colors with Maxx, Rust, and I, so idk where his head is at. -- - In Full This show was bad. It just was. There's always enjoyable marks in any bad show, just like there was here. I'm so proud of what we were able to do in the main event as well as some of the other high notes I've hit in this review here, but that's the thing... Even with high points, the product as a whole can be dragged down if others can't hold up their end of the bargain. Not a single one of us is able to exist on an island. I'm selfish myself for wanting you all to do better, because that will make things I do seem even better. (fake)Jokes aside, last month for Red Sun Rising, I was angry. I called that go-home show shit as it deserved because it had the same exact kind of easily avoidable, lazy bullshit mistakes this one did. Honest effort and a one off mistake is one thing. Not even giving this fed and your community members the effort they deserve is another thing. It's a stupid video game. It's a silly fake wrestling fed, yes. If you choose to view it that way, that's your prerogative. You wanna look at me as a goofy fucking mark who gets mad at a video game? That's also fine. Your call. But I did not commit myself to a community, I did not commit myself to a guy like Jay, who puts in more work and effort than some of you could fucking dream of during a 14 hour dorito-induced snack nap, to show up on Fridays week after week after week after week and be met with this garbage. You can be mad at me all you want. If you don't care about the product enough to put in effort, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. I'd rather go out knowing OCW has 8 awesome handlers who respect this place than 60 who couldn't give a fuck about anything other than their own matches. If you don't care, own it. Be a fucking grown up. Don't pretend you have a third of the stones than Jay has and point fingers and make excuses. We're all going to die one day. We all work. We all have families and careers to care about. We have such little time in this world and those in this community decided to spend their free time creating a fun, immersive, serious, joyous product for all of us to enjoy. I can't make you give a shit about OCW, but at least show some fucking respect to your fellow human beings who struggle in their daily lives and want a release by not sullying this incredible community with your half-hearted, bullshit effort. That's not targeted to anyone in general. That goes for everyone including me as a reminder, even if you sometimes feel it's not worth going on. Either contribute to OCW being the greatest e-fed this world has ever seen, or get the fuck out and go do something that DOES bring you joy and happiness. Sorry for any rudeness throughout, I honestly only hope for greater things moving forward and I KNOW Clash will deliver. It's just never a bad time for a reminder of what an incredible place Jay & those who came before us provided and how fragile it all can be. See you in chat :peace:
  12. TMZ cameras catch OCW Superstar 'The Gramazon' Debbie D. walking outside of the arena after Turmoil 289, looking to get the comments that OCW camera crews could not following her assault on Jasmin Kaffee. A cameraman gets into Debbie's face, asking her questions. At a point, the paparazzo gets too close, triggering Debbie to push them away. Their camera falls ungracefully to the concrete below. Debbie: Get that shit out my face. Paparazzo: I'm just doing my job, I'm just doing my job. Debbie looks around, almost offended at the implication. Debbie: Doing your job? Doing your JOB?! Little boy, you don't know what having a job is. Your job is to follow stars like me around and look for a little clickbait quote. You wanna quote, you little dick weasel? Debbie: I gotch'ya quote, boy. Debbie stops in her tracks and leans down towards the camera. Debbie: I been playing this little game far too long. I came into this shit with an entirely different vision to what I got right now. I came in here wanting to be me. I came in here with the biggest social media following of any new OCW star of all time. Debbie: What was I met with? I was told I'm gonna be some fun loving social star. I was told to "tone down" what makes me ME. Debbie: I'm about sick of it. I tried to play the role. I tried to be y'all's little "alt" and have a good time. Debbie: There's an almost unlimited amount of talent and passion in this locker room and instead of being recognized as one of them, I get tossed to the side as some little insecure girl's shoulder to cry on. Debbie: Like I ain't the biggest star in this fucking game, tho. Nah. The D ain't never stood for shit. The D stands for "dumbass gimmick". Debbie: My name is Deborah Soto. I been bigger than every one of you little cameraboys. I been bigger than every single one of these women. I been the biggest star in the best women's division in this business. Debbie: 'Debbie D.' was made to sell t-shirts and action figures. The D. never stood for shit. Y'all can keep that. Debbie: From here on out, I'm gonna keep it ONE HUNNID. You get Deborah Soto, you get the woman who brought mainstream attention to a business that's always struggled to be taken seriously. Debbie: As for Jasmin? Wrong place, wrong time, hun. I told you and your lil' boyfriend I ain't got time for games. You were never my friend, you were just tryna get ahead. I saw that from day 1... but I tried to be a team player for OCW. Debbie grabs the camera and pulls it close. Debbie: Fuck OCW. Fuck being a team player. Debbie: Deborah Soto's nobody's stepping stone. Bring that fake ass energy to the tourney so I can show all you fake "workrate" bitches who the realest one is. Debbie: I'm walking out that building the ONLY Queen of OCW. D-Plus unlocked tonight. You ain't seen anything yet. Debbie: Now get this shit out my face... Matter fact? Deborah tosses her bag at the paparazzo, causing them to stumble back. Debbie: Keep this shit, too. I don't need it anymore. She swings the door open to her car, entering the backseat, as the paparazzi swarm the car to get more answers... The car speeds off into the night, leaving nothing but the sounds of flashing cameras in it's wake.
  13. Interacting with stream in a silly out-of-universe manner is not comparable to anything the in-universe commentators do. Regardless of what you think of the commentary, comparing a spectator speaking over the stream to commentary that exists in the same space as the wrestlers is silly. It'd be like saying "Well people made jokes in VP while watching, how is that different?" Busy busy here in the bullshit state of KY but I will catch up with the show and all of the discourse a bit later this week. Thanks again to Nick and Brian for stepping in to do the show. I have not watched the main yet, but I am sure any criticism they're getting for overdoing their running jokes can simply be acknowledged and used to improve going forward. I think both of them do a great job in many aspects on Ambition generally and I've always said Nick's passion and energy has a real air of legitimacy. The other kinks can be worked out no problem. Off I go.
  14. I am really enjoying all of the stuff happening with Jordan Trance and Roy Brown right now. This show was no different and Trance's naivety bounces off of super serious characters so well. I feel like we're in a fun sweet spot of intermingling stories too. It can be tough to follow sometimes but part of what makes the characters come to life is treating them like real people who have varying interactions to varying people and circumstances. Wrestling can sometimes cause the characters to exist in a bubble with their feud partner, but I think we're doing great at humanizing them. The catriona, John, CG, Barrett stuff on this show in particular was what made this come to mind. There are so many pieces moving around that it keeps things interesting and keeps you guessing. Also allows for fun development outside of fighting all the time or backstage brawls. Rust's letter was short and sweet and the new rescue for Zoe is on. I hadn't considered Rust being pursued by Zoe as an option until now. That could spell disaster for team OCW. I have no idea who or what Pandora is but I fucking dug this video, very ominous with a flair of 80s style. + that song is from Phantom Pain so you'll always get a mark out out of me. I guess we'll see on RIOT what it's all about. KD and H2O's deep history brought up as an extension of Kasstianity, nice touch to bring in those who were not around for Inception into the loop. Colin and Maxx have been getting very serious lately, a change from their usual shenanigans. It worries me, especially with all this spooky eye stuff. Maxx's arc in particular is easily one of my most watched this year, his evolution has been perfect for what it takes to stay relevant in wrestling. Captain Insano Christian Garcia is starting to shift the narrative about TWC in their favor, with Marcus' stuff with his ghost Dad and Jasmin + Aisu being a straight laced wrestling purist, John at this point is the main loose thread of fuckness and RPs like he had with Garcia can go a long way in tilting him slightly more babyface, without compromising his character as a shitty arrogant prick. Empress and Ashley was awesome, may be my RPOTN. Visualization and such + their history as rivals and friends last year. I really love how present Empress is as the authority figure, not to say Tibby's role was bad, his background authority was fun bc you knew it was a big deal when he showed up. Two different effective styles, but Emp's insane personality and unpredictability make her very fun to see every week in RP and video formats. There is no question who is in charge. This punishment for Ashley is coming swiftly... Jacob Trance and C-NOTE?! Get that rub, kid. Scattered thoughts, great content overall. I loved this show on video and RP fronts. Much better than the stinker of a go home show we had a few weeks back. Amazing matches through the entire show - save for the ME, which can still be spun as a massive positive for John as he blew up TLB. Grazie
  15. Fuck Christian Garcia
  16. Okay - I'm going to try and do this now. I know I rampaged about a lot of stuff and was over the top in my criticism for the laughs, I am but a large baby-man shouty joke maker. Turmoil 287 Emp starts the show Reminds me of The Miz opening the show and running down the card, though Empress is getting cheered and not boo'd. It's exactly how I'd expect P3 to run the show. OCW Tag Title Match An asswhooping of the highest order. I always get excited for a Sanctum entrance (well, I used to. More on that later) and this is no different. I kind of expected a little more effort from the Lads, who gained a bit of momentum before this heading into the match. Maybe some custom entrances or trons or at least taking the Turmoil generic branding off. Match was fine, not a lot of negatives, not not a lot of positives either. Wasn't the most memorable match until the end. Sanctum pick up another W through creative DQ means and then proceed to absolutely massacre the lads. Looks to me that the low-effort Colby stand-ins are being written off. I knew they were Colby-centric but based on their look and vibe, I was hoping to see more development and and permanence from them going forward with Colby on the shelf. Oh well. Sanctum to the Bah + THAT video To any point where you can critique Sanctum's lack of developed or longer term feuds within the tag division, they are never slacking on overall representation and presence. All three men do a great job maintaining a consistent presence and always making sure the tag titles are represented on TV. They have been also mostly consistent in keeping the Sanctum vibe clear without muddying the waters too much. This consistency is what allowed OWEN's fired up content vs DOC more effective. Now, I appreciate that part of the RP, but this also falls into a not so great trope that you sometimes see in wrestling where the champions will dampen THEIR division for no real reason. Comments like "We cleaned out the division" or inferring there's no one left or that the division has been left in the dust. I'm not a fan of that. A. There is always someone else to fight. B. Your accomplishments seem less impressive when you're telling me the division you dominate is/was in shambles. This isn't to say it's universally wrong, I just have a hard time reading them as heels right now. I can clearly see the shift start here to being arrogant assholes, so on that front it works assuming that's the impression you're intending to leave. That said, "if we don't get the respect we deserve, we take it by force" doesn't make much sense to me coming from a champion of 9 months who has been almost universally appreciated since day 1 when he arrived and even ran a multi-month feud with a team that was based around them respecting you so much they wanted to wrestle you. It's more of a comment you'd hear from a young up and coming tag team. Lots of things to analyze here in terms of what it means for Sanctum's direction. It's interesting. Looking forward to the first major evolution in the team going forward. -- Plus I guess I'll talk about the video here since it's not on the webshow. First and foremost, I hated it. I hated it live and said "that was dumb" and moved on. Things happen and not everything is going to land, pretty much everything has been said about this already, from the fact there was "LOLs" and joke descriptions in a Sanctum video which is completely out of character for them, to the fact that it went hard in burying the success of a team they plan to fight later, from it being too long, etc. The fact that this didn't have an ounce of Sanctum feeling or Sanctum vibe to it was what made it dumb for me. Felt like a video someone would just make to post in Discord, not one that the very proud, confident members of a respected group would greenlight in character. I don't even necessarily think you needed to ask permission since it is archival footage, but that's besides the point to me, using the archival footage in this way didn't land well and that's obvious at this point so we can move on now. Live and learn. The RP OWEN did with DOC and the RP they had in the bar were way more effective ways to begin leaning heel than this was. -- Val Vitriol vs Noimara First - I am a big fan of Val's new look. While Val may be content just being a fun background character for matches like these, I'm always hoping for more big developments character wise or focused feuds. Noimara's presentation is great, for me. I like the more direct scary spooky vibes juxtaposed to the mental spooky or mind-games type stuff we've seen in other spooky characters. Noimara absolutely housed the poor bumble bee on this one. An effective match that showcased Noimara as a beast. That finish spitting into the hand into the sig into the fin was very good as well. Primero's Split Hey now, I thought I had the market cornered on internal self-character monologues! Jokes aside, Elliott's evolution into this smooth talking, calm natured duplicitous weirdo still has me. I was in when he committed to the bit before and I'm in now. Pushing Primero to have this internal convo with the babyface version of himself was nice. The very similar attires with just the logos changed (and the mask) was a very nice touch. Unsure if this was an outright babyface turn or just a precursor, but all the little references and differences between the two characters worked for me. Have not hated this Parker/Parca feud. Chance and Harris get Reps Harris preps for the huge match in one of the longer-term rivalries we have in OCW. Turner/McMichaels are two characters that will always be linked because of how they came in and their juxtaposition in styles. Chance offering to teach Harris how to wrestle has some interesting potential, though I think it's a losing strategy. Stick to the awkward brawling you know and love! We'll see if Harris is an in-ring prodigy and can pick up the new style quickly. Hanzo vs Jordan Trance I will start by mentioning that rules wise, as far as letter of the law goes, Hanzo did nothing wrong. With that out of the way, I fucking hated this match. It felt like I just logged on and hit "quick ranked" in 2K22. I've continued to praise Hanzo for his understanding, skills, willingness to cooperate, engagement, and now his new look, but after the bell rings it's just not good. His moveset screams "these moves were all meticulously tested and all have the smallest reversal windows". Not a lot of logic to it really. Jumping people right when they get in the ring with said moves is also a bit lame. I still chock this up to Hanzo being in "survival mode" coming from quick play games online where it's EVEN WORSE and he's just trying to survive out there. I get that. I get so much character and life from the look and the man behind the character, but I just hate everything about what happens inside the ring. I know I've talked to him about the style and Jamie did as well + he's still a rookie, so I have high hopes for continued progress to a more fun, watchable, and less video game style the longer he's with us. Assault on Ashley Moore (and on my eyes) So first and foremost, I'm really not sure what went wrong here. Based on the GT, it looks like Ashley recorded the footage, so why is the aspect ratio so off? It was distracting for me and all the handlers have been here long enough to know how to render a video so I assume this is a one-off. Maybe someone using a new editor or something, but please don't do this anymore lol. Two lines of dialogue here, cutting to the chase. Appreciated for brevity, but I would like some more between these two, as I still think we're leaving development and care on the table for Evelyn and Mina. For now, I'm still muddy on their motivations and connection. That might be on me for forgetting something they did, but there's a lot to be said about repetition and clarity as far as being memorable goes. Ashley's sorta in the ether where I'll cheer her face or heel for now, until she decides to commit heavily to one side or the other. She's earned that for now. Anywho, forgettable beatdown due to lack of background or context and the aspect ratio didn't help matters. Jasmine talks to Marcus Enjoyed this one a lot, not a whole lot of bad to say about it. Jasmin's representation and depth actually had more of an effect on TWC/Marcus than the inverse, which is the opposite of what I expected when she joined with them. There's mentions of both Marcus and Jasmin's previous feud as well as her current/next one, while also keeping her themes consistent with what we know about her. A fish-out-of-water loner looking to fit in, troubled by misunderstanding and now a stalker. Marcus' shifting towards care and comfort is also not out of character, since he's had his own run ins with his past and his consequences. All in all, hit every note it needed to and pushed about 4 narratives forwards. Good work. Scotty X vs Samsin Simsin It's gotta be hard to beat a women's title match, especially with a returning Holly, but this is a close 2nd. After being underwhelmed by the matches up to this point, these two killed it. Scotty is really growing on me quickly and Samsin's commitment through some awkwardness is great. I like Scotty's moveset and this is a great feud for each of them. Doesn't have to be over the top or deeply nuanced. Hopefully we're able to see a little more development from Scotty as he moves forward, but as far as aesthetic and in ring style goes, I'm loving it so far. The ending sees Wrex appear to dish out his own brand of discipline which is perfect shitty Wrex. Scotty making the save helps establish more clearly what side of the spectrum he falls on since he's so new, and has been sorta ambiguous so far. After the save, this doesn't appear to be over and done with just yet... Jordan Visits the Tent Medical tent is right after that brain damage. Love how Jordan uses that ass whooping as a content machine, showing us more about who Jordan is. Cracking jokes and turning his attention right to his gig later tonight. Nobody has a favorite dinosaur, you stupid fucking kid. The cliff hanger ending was also an interesting touch. I have a few theories, but regardless we really need to stop terrorizing our medical staff. Derek Heads to the GOAT Academy Another RP I really appreciated. It takes elements of what we've kinda been saying about Derek without taking it too far into shoot or non kayfabe territory. Even within universe, you would reasonably understand why Aries of all people is pissed about Derek's lack of presence and oomph as the new champion. To his credit, unlike some other RPs and segments, Derek does not take kindly to the disrespect and rather than being a doormat, shows some backbone reminding us what he had to do in the chase to the gold. Aries points here are so well said and delivered clearly enough without being shitty or shooty. It comes off exactly as it should. A mentor who gave so much to a guy wanting him to do better and motivating him to do so. Given their background, I am looking forward to Claudio vs Derek and if Derek retains, this would be amazing as a catalyst for a more prominent International Champion going forward. Handicap Match TWC/Horse I do understand why this happened, chaotic new GM setting things right as a result of the flag burning. There was no setup or RP (on this show prior to the match) from TWC as to why they specifically were chosen, so they seem even more irrelevant in this whole thing. Also you all know I'm not a "pro wrestling playbook must always be followed" kind of guy, but I think all parties here could do with a little more clarity in their motivations. Between TWC, EMP and Blacksmith, none have really been bonafide in their alignment. It's a handicap match, it was never going to be interesting match wise, but good for John Carter for not being so sad anymore. He looks like Damian Bourne now. Garcia and Stacy have a chat Garcia - for me - is at this weirdly manic stage post-NA title run where he's being very slippery and suspicious. The dissolved relationship between Garcia and Jasmin makes that even worse. Emotionally, he's been through the ringer already in his career. Despite looking very shady in all of this, Garcia seems like a red herring for me though the "I'm going to do something about it" is ominous and has me excited for which of the two directions that goes. Also, fuck your arm. I'll break it again. Don't Kobe 2 New York A perfect feud partner for Blacksmith and while I didn't love the punishment handicap match, this reminded me that we have a sick match on the way at the PPV and keeps the stipulation at the front of mind. There will be Asian's wielding Asian beat sticks. Farmer Mark Reese Short and sweet. Mark Reese continues to have presence despite being on sabbatical and his stupid redneck jokes always make me laugh. A very cool line at the end "They want me to come to New York" on the DCTNY go-home show is brilliant. Excited to see what they want from him and what our next move is for ole Mark. Deaver vs Verde Although it wasn't as competitively interesting or entertaining as the Samsin/Scotty match, it still was a fun match that told an unexpected, though effective story. With Greene usually getting his ass kicked throughout matches and showing heart, it was very cool to see that Kassidy's influence flipped that script and showed that Greene can be dangerous in the ring. Another low-key thing I think this helped with was getting Deaver over as a good guy. He came in as a very easy to hate figure and with this deception coming so soon after his first real connection with someone, it's easy to feel bad for him and see the "Believe In Me" signs as more good than arrogant. New Kasstian looks powerful. New babyface garners more sympy. Didn't hate. Greene Gloats with Kasstianity More use of Morrison Method as a book-like narrator instead of an neutral force. Helps define narratives clearly, even if they are a little more spelled out than usual themes. There are two cool things I wanna point out in this one. First, Chris' immediate new confidence undermined by his lap-dog like "I did good, right boss?" It's not a negative comment, it plays perfectly into what we know Chris to be. Looking for a place as he has been throughout his career. Seeking validation and through two unsuccessful attempts to do so, finding Kasstianity as his newest venture to prove himself to others. Also, Kassidy's excellently shitty "This is what I wanted from you, unbothered by other people's wants and beliefs" just so perfectly hypocritical and shitty even in the face of that very clear hypocrisy. It's so obviously Kassidy taking advantage of either a young naive person or one who is in a vulnurable position (which are both applicable to Greene right now), which he's done throughout his career very well (Sparks/Parker/EMP/B17/Mujera/etc). Also lots of references to belief, which both works for Kasstianity as a cult as well as to Deaver's mantra. Have to say, I'm having a ton of fun with Kasstianity's storyline, as it doesn't just exist in one bubble between two parties, but rather stretches effectively throughout the entire roster without stepping on any toes or having too much awkward placement or contradiction and as someone feuding with Kasstianity, having other pieces I'm not aware of all the time is such a fun element that allows the stories to keep evolving. Marisa's Clark Effect The women's division is spooky as fuck these days. Between Terra, Noimara, Sue, and now Marisa... Are they all linked? What is the damn code! Marisa's also so over with me that she has a little more room for error in clear character shifts, as we see in this one. That said, I can kinda reach for a bridge between her attitudes in the John/Iceman/etc story and this one, as even the most confident and brazen person can be brought to fear and paranoia with the right cause. The Microsoft Sam voice is so unnerving to me for some reason. Keep the spooky comin'. Interested to see where it goes. DOC and OWEN do promos right Such a pro wrestling feud, such a pro wrestling promo. All of this is so simple yet so filled with substance. Huge fan. Off the bat, DOC is very good at that repetition and clarity I talked about before. Even his brief callbacks allow you to understand his emotions without the need for you to have been there for all of those moments. You can feel the heart in it and I'm very glad this one was not a video promo. DOC and OWEN have put on some of the better RP-only promos I've read in a while. OWEN has really shifted from "I'm no slouch I can show fire too" in a babyface way to now definitely leaning heel. The mocking at the start after a passionate promo that put him on a pedestal (by comparing his bouts with Tony to his bouts with OWEN, high praise tho indirect and didn't insult him). The arrogance and confidence in saying Sanctum are the greatest tag team in OCW. OWEN also brings up some of the not so happy moments for DOC in his career to immediately relate them to his happy ones, showing that he's also a knowledgeable threat to DOC and his weaknesses. It was just good shit. RPOTN. Very excited for OWEN DOC II: Electric Boogaloo. Harris Turner vs Elliot Parker a "momentum is everything" kind of match for two men going into big PPV matches. I love Elliot winning here, as while nobody in OCW "needs" wins to be effective if they're good enough at OCW, from strictly a view/kayfabe standpoint, this new cerebral character Elliot has benefits a lot more from it heading into a match he's the underdog in. This win combined with his influence over Parca's mind earlier in the night establish him as a real threat to win that NA title. For Harris, well maybe he should stop trying to out wrestle people and just shoulder tackle and heart punch them to death. His war with Marcus stretches beyond any perception of legitimacy or momentum, and yet his reputation adds to Elliot's win. The latter half of this show is so much better than the first. A decent match, nothing mindblowing but it had it's relevant effects on two PPV competitors and that's good enough for me. Where the Hell is Quartz You heard the lady, Quartz is doing Quartz, which given his gimmick sounds way more fantasy fic than I intended, but maybe head to #ocw-fan-fic and see the latest manga. Derek Acknowledges the Cheeks I praised the RP earlier, but then Derek came out to face Claudio without the International Title. Why? You should always have the belt when you can. I get that you were running right into an interaction that didn't involve it, but a simple entrance w/ belt, cut to crowd, then cut back to Derek rushing the ring gives at least the impression that you had it and dropped it on the ground to rush the ring when the camera cut away. Be creative! From there, a simple brawl between two meaty men. Nothing too noteable, though I appreciate that Derek didn't just get walloped and stay down. Taking Aries words from earlier to get back up and try to fight before Claudio ran like a little bitch. This one has way more alignment clarity than some other places, so I can appreciate that. Fuck Claudio Maxx Storage Meets Maxx's shattered mental state is very upsetting for me. It began with Kasstianity and even after bouncing back, it seems to be lower than ever. I will say it's a perfect dynamic with Colin's usual upbeat nonsense though. Also brings to mind the way each wrestler is reacting to some pretty dark, pretty horrible states. With Colin being able to conquer Jacob Trance and return to his confidence and Maxx suffering a similar fate, but still unable to shake the results of that experience despite breaking free of Kasstianity's hold. I loved the line from Maxx sorta offering the "other perspective" in the Team OCW narrative, showing that it's not exactly the collaborative, sunshiny, confident team and that you can draw comparisons between Kass' followers as puppets and Team OCW's followers as "clay soldiers". It's when ambiguous characters or heels in general explain a reasonable and understandable motive for their actions, even if you don't agree with the actions themselves, that's when you can truly appreciate a "bad guy" or someone who toes the line. Maxx is so great at character evolution, I feel we've seen so many different versions of him without going so far as to lose the core of what makes Maxx, Maxx. It's very hard to do but it's no surprise I'm a fan of Maxx's stuff. This new darker side is another one that has a lot of reasonable directions that I don't think are predictable, that I'm excited to keep an eye on (pun definitely intended). Also from a strictly fan standpoint, Maxx is one of our best team ocw guys, please don't take him away from us. Rust Is No Bitch Of course taking advantage of the fact Quartz' is not in the building is such a Kass move. Rust's history of making enemies clearly fucked him up in this one, as he gets absolutely no save from a locker room he's been a french shit head to for a long time now. Despite that, showing up even while being outnumbered is a brave look. I loved the direction they took to have Greene attack him from behind to set the attack in motion. Fuck you Kassidy Hayes, you KISS demon wanna-be weasel cult fuck. I'll be back at DCTNY. Antonio Everrett Pre-Memorial Great scene setting with the first paragraph. Got the visual right away. Hoooly fuck this was another superb "pro wrestling" segment. The reveal in Morrison Method of Tony being one of the hooded Kasstians popped me huge. I imagine the urge to try and make this a video was strong, but Tony (and props to Harvey as well) is one of the best at executing action-based stuff with werdz. Harvey doing perfect Kasstianity bits by trying to recruit his opposition fits in well, also more recognition of his history and character, albeit brief at the start. The hood reveal is always classic and beating up nameless grunts is as well. Tony vs H2O by itself is a sell but they've done a great job in the build up to DCTNY in my dumb ass opinion. Women's World Title Match What an awesome match. Holly is back to being crazy coked out Holly and still has that fire to be world champion again after coming up short over and over and over. Unfortunately for her, she comes up short again here, but the match was awesome. MOTN in my opinion. The ending and the back and forth trying to end things was very entertaining and the blocked mist into the chokeslam is such great organic storytelling, since that same exact move won Furi the match at Summercide and put Terra on the shelf. A great example of how OCW just accidentally creates great moments. These two put on a show and it was well worth the ME slot, ended the show on a high after a lot of touch and go videos/segments in the first half. Post Match RP Furiosa denying not one, but TWO rescue missions that went for the title and to fish away Heather from the hold of Kasstianity. I did appreciate the bit of Heather we got in this RP with H2O, showing that she's still there somewhere, even if she doesn't necessarily have it in her to break free from Kasstianity. The teases of this in the leadups to both Cide and this match, while still having Furiosa win, leaves a lot of potential for the future for this to come up again. For now though, Kasstianity stands tall again. -- Final thoughts The RPs added a lot to this show. I left the steam part with a real bad taste of this show, and I still think we can do a lot better. I mentioned the technical issues, the audio and the aspect ratios and stuff. This is so easy to catch on a single rewatch or glance through and we really shouldn't be having these problems at this stage. I also mentioned that the people involved were mostly vets enough that I don't think this will be a consistent problem. Just one offs and I'm not overly concerned. Creativity is also something we can work on a bit. I am not an anti-beatdown or anti-physicality guy. It's pro wrestling, that's going to happen. It's about the context and surrounding elements of any attack that makes it effective. Play to emotions. Find something to make the physical elements more interesting. The game is flawed, but it gives us a solid amount of creative tools to work with... and if you can't do that, Tony showed beautifully on this show how to do something in text-only formats. Forget about "well I want everyone to see it right away" stuff, if it's more effective then be patient and let people engage with the text. The text improved the show, but not to amazing levels. We can and will do way better than Turmoil 287 and I know DCTNY will be one of those moments when we do. I have faith. Also I waited to do this since I wanted the bullshit to die down about the video. To wrap up on that, just wanted everyone to have the reminder that OCW and our product is #1. We work together on the same team to make things we can all enjoy. Every single one of us is capable of missteps or miscues or bad ideas here or there. The reaction took on a life of it's own and became a fucking pile on (as Maxx talked about) with over the top comparisons to cheat and super aggro dialogue in Discord. I already talked to Brian about it and there's no doubt that his equally aggro responses only blew it way more out of proportion and made him look like a selfish asshole. Hard to have grace when guys that are highly respected are comparing you to the cheat, though. All in all, this is done and over with. Let's all move on and try to have a little more grace in our interactions in Discord and not be so paranoid that everyone is out to get us or everyone is trying to fuck on him or her all the time. Trust is a big part of why our shows are so entertaining for all parties. Let's all forget about this bullshit and focus on the future. Then. Now. Tog- wait no that's not ours. anyways, ciao. Thanks yall
  17. I hope Spider gets taken out once and for all. And that's not kayfabe brother.
  18. I intend to do a more full review of this show once the childish nonsense dies down, and trust me - by OCW standards - it was a pretty rotten show. It was probably the worst TV show we've put on in 2022/Season 17 and I don't feel like that's a stretch. The RIOT I missed during my week off I didn't love either, but I chocked a lot of that up to being absent from the live experience and just being generally in an exhausted state of mind from work/life. I'm sad to see that it's continuing to go further south after all we've done at Lution/Cide/RSR/Season 17 in general. So much of what OCW has been able to pull together in the awkward transition between 19 and 22 has been admirable, to me. Of course, it all comes with people popping off about stupid shit they do not understand or creating fake issues about FPR or ethics or this or that, but at the end of the day, I still think the fact we were able to take what 2K gave us and make some great, silly, fun pro wrestling magic out of it *overall* is admirable. Pugh, back to back at this point, has perfectly relayed feelings I've tried to put in words for a long time. I told Jay the same when I ranted at him after we did commentary for this show's main event. In the Sit-Rep forum post and now here. OCW is supposed to be a platform where we can all come together and create amazing content for EVERYONE to enjoy while also scratching the itch to play the game and have some kind of control over what we see. It's collaboration. I'm not going to hit Pugh's points line by line. If you read what he's saying and scoff at it, you're here for you and you're here for the wrong reasons. The realness of Colin's quote here is the most sad, disappointing thing for me here. Taking something that is almost universally seen as a shitty idea or something that goes so far in the other direction of what OCW is supposed to be about and reacting as if you're some kind of king shit or that "lul lul I got people talking that means I win" is the shittiest reaction I've seen in a long time. I am not even really going to harp on the video itself, because I moved on the second I saw it and went "well that was stupid". But it's the general attitude towards the community and the reaction to the response that just flat out disappoints me. If you're ever in a chat room/discord shouting match with Jay and you even think to try and pull the "I CANT BELIEVE THIS AFTER ALL I HAVE DONE" card on him, you have gone so far off the deep end that you need to take some personal inventory. Nobody, EVER can stand against Jay's patience, his thoughtfulness, and his work. He's put his own fucking wallet into this place for YEARS before any of us were potty trained. He has continually spent his very limited free time building his skills and making our production better and better despite all the bullshit we have to deal with inbetween shows. If ANYONE thinks they have some kind of edge on him of all people because they've submitted a few promos, they can fuck right off. There is no comparison. He's got his faults (as we all do) and in the environment he's created, we're all able to make mistakes and have a discussion about it, but I am far dumber than I was yesterday after reading the bullshit "show discussion" that was in Discord this morning. All in all, I'm just a bit sad about the whole thing. My immediate thought was "this is why I dont come to Discord as much anymore" and that also makes me sad because I love OCW and many of the people in it, of whom I've become very good friends with over the last 5 years. Enough sadness, though. Time heals all wounds though (except these crazy eyes) and I know we will rally and move on with our lives and OCW will live on, because it's bigger than all of us and it's the best place in existence that does what it is it does.
  19. 2:18PM ET Today, OCWFed.com confirmed multiple reports that seemed to indicate one of their world champions would once again be unavailable for their weekly programming. After CCW World Champion Inness Quartz appeared in just a single pre-taped segment with former tag team partner Rust Cohle this past Friday on RIOT 592, questions circulated regarding the health and availability of the champion, who typically maintains a significant presence on the weekly program. This morning, OCWFed released a statement in line with their desire to stay ahead of "dirt sheet" reporting, announcing that Inness Quartz has been cleared to wrestle, but was not scheduled to appear on RIOT 592 due to "personal reasons". Bad news followed, as it appears Quartz will once again miss weekly TV as OCW heads back to Brooklyn, NY for the final show before their newest pay-per-view event, Don't Come to New York. In the same statement, OCWFed announced that Quartz will not be appearing at the Turmoil show and asked that the fanbase respect the champion by "resisting the urge to dig up dirt" in order to get an answer. Despite the ominous reports, many around OCW are positive about the champion's presence and expect a full return to action sooner rather than later. The massive "Don't Come to New York" Pay-Per-View is scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd. Quartz' status for that event remains unclear, however. The CCW Champion is coming off of a spectacular title defense in OCW's "Red Sun Rising" event, a successful defense against Nate Ortiz that saw a CQC reunion at the end, with Rust Cohle coming to the aid of his former tag team partner after Kasstianity got involved post-match. With Don't Come to New York just 14 days away, the world champion's absence on the go-home show will come as a disappointment to some, though the details of his absence remain unclear. The report from OCW's PR team announcing that Quartz has been cleared and is "medically healthy" while offering little detail otherwise may serve to only bring up more questions than answers. One thing is for sure, with OCWFED announcing the Turmoil 287 card, excitement remains very high around the world of pro wrestling coming off of Red Sun Rising and just ahead of the first ever Don't Come to New York event. We will continue to follow this story as more news is made available.

  21. --September 21st, 2022 | 11:14am-- The pouring rain slams against the driver seat window of a slow moving vehicle. The view turns slowly to see the squinted right eye of Inness Quartz. As it continues to turn, there are several vehicles moving slowly down the road. Quartz stares straight ahead as the car continues to drive, listening to nothing but the ticking of raindrops landing and the screeching of the windshield wipers brushing them aside. ???: Familiar, isn't it, 'bub? Quartz is not startled by the break in the silence, instead staring straight ahead while delivering his response. Inness Quartz: You could say that. As the view continues to pan. It reveals Ijitu Quartz sitting in the passenger seat, also staring ahead. Ijitu: You know... I've always wondered. Ijitu peers out of the passenger seat window, watching the rain fall from above. Ijitu: Why does it always rain when this happens? Inness: You tell me, Mr. 'New Storm'. Ijitu Quartz snickers quietly as he turns back to Inness. Ijitu: Oh, we got a funny man in control now? Inness offers a small smirk before returning to his somber, straight-faced demeanor. The rain continues to fall as the cars ahead of Quartz all turn left, through large gates. Philadelphia National Cemetery Inness peers at the gates briefly before turning the wheel left, following the parade of black vehicles. As they approach the gates, the dead trees just behind the gate slowly shift to full, green trees... --May 9th, 2015 | 12:55pm-- Ijitu: Great. Now this one? The view returns to the interior of the vehicle, with Ijitu shaking his head and straightening his shoulders. Inness continues to drive forward, the sleek black design of the cars reverting to a few older models in front of him. Inness: ... Ijitu: I don't need your judgy silence, "soldier". Inness: I am not judging anyone right now. I am just driving. Ijitu: Heh. Right. I'm surprised they didn't toss you out when you offered to be there for him. Inness: These people, Ijitu. They don't know what really goes on with us - with you. Inness: Uncle Nik didn't know. Nobody really does... Except us. The camera continues spinning as Ijitu looks annoyed, staring out of the passenger seat window. As it faces the two men, we can see Intell Quartz sitting in the back, sifting through a large book. He peeks up at the mention, but says nothing, instead opting to adjust his reading glasses and returning to the pages. Inness: They forgave you. They forgave us. I just wish you could forgive yourself. Ijitu: Hey - I warned him. It's not like I killed him. As the cars start to slow down, Inness flicks off his windshield wipers and turns the key slowly, turning off the car's engine. Just as he does, the trees begin to wither slightly as the men travel further back... --June 29th, 2002 | 1:11pm-- Inness nods, recognizing the surroundings, and steps out of his car. Intell and Ijitu do as well. Ijitu: It's just as depressing as I remembered. Yeesh. These people really know how to kill the mood. Inness throws Ijitu an irritated glare, but before he can respond to the remark, a young man walks through him. He does not bump into Inness, rather phases directly through him. The young man has a familiar annoyed look on his face, with his hands behind his head in a carefree manner. His blue hair can be seen sticking out inbetween his fingers behind his head. Inness watches the young man continue to approach the service alone, as he looks back to Ijitu. Ijitu: Looks like the kid agrees. Inness: I can only imagine the immense sadness and confusion going through their minds when they see... you. Ijitu leans against the car, staring at the 16-year old Quartz, looking on proudly. Ijitu: Pshh. I see a boy with the confidence to stand on his own two feet while the rest of these depressing people are selfishly hanging onto others with tears in their eyes. Intell holds his hand up, seemingly clutching something. As he does, a black umbrella fades in from top to bottom, landing in his outstretched hand. Intell: So much time has passed and yet you two play this game every time we enter the mind. Intell: Symbiosis seems to be further from your grasp than ever. Ijitu: Can it, nerd. Since when have you ever contributed around here? When's the last time you were in control? Intell simply smiles and shakes his head. Intell: We should follow them. The three minds of Quartz continue forward, following the mass to a funeral service. An awning has been set up to protect the coffin from the pouring rain. They notice a picture of a smiling man on top of the coffin. As they approach, the leaves begin to blow forward, the green of the trees once again disintegrating from blueish green to an empty branch, shaking in the wind. The color of the awning changes from grey to black, and hovers over a new coffin. The photo of the man has changed, showing instead a brunette woman, smiling wide. Ijitu, Inness, and Intell all stop in their tracks, watching the reverse passage of time. The brash, arrogant young man we know to be a 16-year old Quartz is seen standing by himself near the back of the service. He slowly changes into a younger boy, standing with his head down, crying... --October 17th, 2000 | 10:43am-- Leaning down to comfort the crying boy, the man from the photo on the previous coffin pulls him into a big hug. Intell: ...Through everything the past 20 years. The three of us know why we're here. Intell: Bickering, fighting, control... None of it matters if it's done without that boy in mind. Inness and Ijitu continue staring at the crying boy. Intell: You both have accomplished monumental success in your own ways. The camera focuses on Ijitu while Intell continues to speak. Intell: Arrogance, paranoia, selfishness, greed... Strength. For him. The camera fades to Inness. Intell: Attentiveness, patience, pride, loyalty... Strength. For him. The view shifts back to Intell as he looks on... Intell: I fear we'll never truly reach symbiosis... but as long as you two never forget why we're here and who we're representing each and every day, then I can say nothing of the results. Come. Pay your respects. The three walk towards the front, phasing through the crowd, who do not acknowledge their presence. They reach the front of the coffin and look into the picture. Ijitu and Intell stand on each side of Inness. Intell: Mother. Time flashes forward to the next service, rain continuing to come down on the families in attendance. Intell: Father. Again, time flashes forward. Inness passes a knowing look to Ijitu, who returns the favor before looking back at the 16-year old Quartz, who refuses to show an ounce of emotion towards the service. Intell: Uncle. A final passage of time forward leaves Inness standing alone in the present day. He looks to his left and right, seeing that he's no longer inside the mind, but standing in the front of the service. He nods and turns to the crowd. Inness: Aunt. Inness: Those we love never truly leave us. There are some things death cannot touch. We'll miss you, Mar'. The champion's blood shot eyes share a few blinks with those in attendance, a far smaller crowd than those in the previous memories. Inness: Be well, everyone. Quartz steps forward and nods to several family members, shaking their hands and embracing as the scene fades.

  22. I've got thoughts. They're multiplyin' Random thoughts from what I think was a great show, quality upticks continue week by week. We all saw and heard about the videos, I won't comment further except to say: - Valkyrie's reintroduction was perfectly done. Huge pop - So many great matches, but I loved the triple threat, tag match, and main event a lot. - Really enjoyed Jasmin's journey through character development land with Marcus & Ashley. - VP leaning into the super scummy gambling debauchery and one-upping, shit talking, etc has added so much interesting nonsense entertainment to VPs lol -- Now then: - There's a lot of seriousness and conflicted feelings in Samsin's journey to impress his mentor. While on it's face it seems like a one sided abusive relationship, I like Samsin's explanation to OWEN that he was the only one willing to take him in when he needed a place. Parallels drawn between that and Jasmin's situation, especially because it's very uncertain whether Wrex really wants to help and is just too guarded to show it externally or he really is just a fat cunt who wants to bully people since he isn't wrestling. - Scotty X, the premise around your promo is great. Providing backstory to the fight, insulting your opponent, putting yourself in the spotlight. All good stuff, but please stop capitalizing the first letter of every word and give it a little grammar check before submitting. It's easy enough to pick up what you're putting down, but it's not an easy read as is. I actually used to do the capitalization thing back in the day, it's a hard habit to break, but trust me, your audience's eyes will thank you for not doing it. - Verde's promo: I really enjoy the use of the narration in the morrison method here. I actually just recently had a convo with someone who prefers this style of narration where the narration has a personal tone and almost conveys the characters thoughts rather than unbiased "matter-of-fact" narration that I use. Anyways, stupid rant aside, the interaction here was surprising. I do like that he explained calling Kass "Hayes" was an intentional choice to keep them as far away from each other mentally as possible. Hearing Kass called "Hayes" is super weird, so having justification for it is good. The premise of Kassidy actively trying to warp more minds is fun, because usually you see the grunts do this moreso than the head honcho. The fact Kass was after Verde bodes either very bad or very good for him. A bit long, but I didn't mind. Didn't lose my interest at all. Liked the tie in with Deaver at the end lol Just a note to Verde - You don't need "" around your dialogue. The beauty of the Morrison Method means that any unbolded text that comes after your name is always dialogue. This may seem like whatever, but if you get rid of the quotation marks around dialogue, it means you can use it within the dialogue itself to make a character speak sarcastically or quote someone else in character. Example -- Yake: Then Sensation told me I sounded like a "mush mouthed, slack jawed fuck", whatever that means. -- - So loved the pops for Johnny in VP. Good set up from Kareem. - lmao OWEN the African Dream is a thing because of a lost poker bet. - Hito vs Blacksmith is awesome. TLB is so good at picking great feud partners. - I like to think when Colin surprisingly appears in an RP with someone, he gets the Sienfeld Kramer pop. The *mooon* joke was perfect, fuck Trance and Reese. Speaking of the two of them, I'm always impressed with how aesthetically different Jamie is able to write in his characters. I never feel like there's any mental overlap when I read them. Jordan Trance being a meek, somewhat naive son of a murdering kidnapper is great. - DOC answering OWEN's fire by turning into evil young Paul Pugh was alarming to me. DOC isn't necessarily a brooding quiet beast, but this outburst after OWEN's "serious" monologue last week towards DOC felt real. Like this guy just tried to tell you how much of an ass kicker he was and now here he is playing dress up. You can feel why DOC would have this rage. OWEN got in a response whilst tossing his Hakeem garb, but this was definitely a DOC moment of shine (and the F word) - If we follow Roy Brown's timeline and safely assume he graduated normally from Oklahoma College of Law in '86, that would make this behemoth of a man 57 years young. What I do like about this wrinkle is that his style doesn't make this necessarily unreasonable. He doesn't need to do anything a 25 year old would do, much less make it through a grueling 30 minute match because he's a murderous giant judge and executioner. At any rate, this was a very strong part of the show. Might be my favorite RP of the night. After his visual return and the spooky vibes, getting a sit down reminder that behind the production, this is just a very intelligent man who has control and anger issues that caused him to lose his spot on the bench in the first place. The HYPERLINK to a 2019 promo that introduced him was fucking MINT. That's such a good idea and one I may very well steal. Showing the humanity through the craziness you see on TV was awesome. He's taking the ridiculousness of pro wrestling and using it to his advantage "It's so easy, you know. Robes and glasses? Ah, who cares. Stick a mask on, throw together some jumpsuit thing, and they're afraid of me now. I like it. I like it a lot. Because now, I get to play my game. I'm making the rules." :chefskiss: - AT3 becomes the 2nd team to mention becoming tag champions on the show so far. A small thing, considering both this one and the Believers one came in RPs that really didn't have much to do with SANCTUM, but it's a reminder that tag teams still crave the highest prize in the sport and even when it's not in the spotlight, showing that your characters still care about the gold is a nice little touch. - KC's reaction to his loss was a huge reason I love OCW. The ability to react and roll with the punches is such a major trait everyone needs to have to survive here. KC turning his loss into an "equalization" thing works both in-character and meta AF. Meta: You'd believe as a smart mark that the hot new debuting wrestler is gonna win his first feud. Now with a loss in his first match, both he and his feuding partner are on equal footing. An example of how something seemingly "against the grain" in wrestlings "blueprint" can be very effective with the right explanation. IC: Obviously we aren't supposed to believe KC lost this match on purpose to play mindgames, but the chain smoking fuck THINKS he's cooler than the other side of the pillow, so him using that as a cheap excuse works just fine for me. - More tomfoolery with Jordan Trance. I'm here for it. I'm a big hug guy. - The speed in which Hanzo has taken to OCW bodes well. When rookies can come in and find feuds right away with quality opponents and give us good TV stuff, it should be lauded. I know you're a pretend person and once I find out who you are, I will bring you to justice. Until then, keep up the good work. Looking forward to the match with Gonzalo, whenever that may be. - More time traveling weirdos observing OCW now. This will never come up again, I bet - The CG interview covered so much ground. Garcia gets into a lot of different places in OCW, so these reviews are a nice refresher. I am especially interested in the relationship with Jasmin and how that's apparently not a topic of discussion and the Wrex thing. Wrex changing his name back, the aforementioned conflict he's having with Samsin and whether he really wants to be nice or not, that plays a part here too. It's too easy for Samsin to break away, there's going to be more pieces at play here and since they could go any direction reasonably, I'm watching closely. Also CG, we'll be in touch regarding which member of Kasstianity I need elbowed in the mouth. - OH MAH GAWD. Red Sun Rising continues to get more and more awesome. With Mugen's open challenge, Drago's return against Rust, and now I get an Uncrowned tag team match?? With Invictus none the less?! Very much enjoyed Aries rationale here, as well. As a side note, whenever two massive events like this are scheduled so close together, what with RSR and then DCTNY just 3 weeks later, it's always so impressive to see how well most of the roster handles their intertwined stories. This is a unique situation and to see everyone able to continue their existing feuds heading into DCTNY while also paying respect to stories and opponents set for RSR - just magnificent continuity and realistic reactions. Hats off to everyone who's managed to pull this off effectively. (Note to Jay: Glorified House Show your ass!) - And there it is. Valkyrie vs Empress!! The sad realness of Valkyrie's opening exposition is not lost on me, I will continue to hold out hope that she returns full time, but I know Valk is super busy dealing with AEW marks invading her home in the universe where those things exist. Anyways, that "piece of metal" was absolutely a cookie sheet and there's no way you can convince me otherwise. She can have that AND the shovel! Empress has always been an angry, vulgar, volatile shit, face or heel. This all checks out to me, as the only people who ever made her a "face" were the people cheering as she was executing the exact kind of heinous shit she's doing in this promo. The biggest difference is that it's good ole' white meat Valkyrie getting punished. Either way, I am not alone super juiced for this match. I have absolutely no god damn clue how a Buried Alive Match is going to be pulled off... but two of the most technically creative and artistic people are in it, so I don't think we need to worry at all. Finally, bring it on Nate. See you for the press conference next week, old man.
  23. 4:15pm ET - Brooklyn, New York Today, OCWFed.com owner and operator Jaysin Clinton Sensation confirmed reports that there would be special media availability for both Nate Ortiz and the CCW World Heavyweight Champion, Inness Quartz, ahead of their colossal bout in OCW's first LIVE show to a Japanese audience in 5 years. Quartz, who we saw confronted by Nate Ortiz following Hito-Gui's assault on Colin Locke, successfully defended the championship against Kassidy Hayes at Summercide 2022, while Ortiz came up just short to the recently named #1 contender to the OCW Championship at the same event in Antonio Everrett. Ortiz looks to avenge his previous defeat to Quartz, which took place in the main event of Turmoil 253 on August 22nd, 2020. The two were scheduled to have a rematch at Wrestlution 15, but the match was turned into a triple threat match as Kassidy Hayes cashed in his Future Investment briefcase, which he had won earlier in the weekend. Finally, after 25 months of speculation, twists, and a return for Quartz' "Inness" persona, we are getting the much anticipated 1 on 1 rematch between the two men. Jaysin Sensation (Our Hero) reported that a special section of Barclay's arena has been prepared and blocked off for the media availability and that the questions will come "entirely from the media". Our Hero also informed us that the press conference will air as a special part of Turmoil 286 as a webshow exclusive. - Be sure to tune in Friday, September 23rd on the final edition of OCW TV before Ambition 12 and Red Sun Rising for all that and more! http://media.discordapp.net/attachments/539942295433117706/1021517657087946752/RSR_show_2_1.png

  24. Why is everyone so desperate to label someone else mad? Also John, you're underselling your argument a bit. I think the point here is that "retiring" and then coming back later takes the "oomph" or impact out of other retirements, that's why you'd rather see "retire" be committed to so it holds the weight it's supposed to hold. At any rate, I see the other side in that saying retirement then coming back has more oomph than just saying "bye for now" then coming back. Plus just like in real life, people "retire" with every intention to stay retired and then something happens down the line that allows them to return. You could argue to just use a different word, but who cares? Reviews and critiques are not only about telling people what sucks and what they need to change, so minimizing feedback because one person is going to do something anyways is not a valid comparison. Speaking of which, since we were talking about what videos should be RPs, I really think the Empress arrival and announcement was an RP that I would have loved to see as a video. The pop for the show to begin with that banger babymetal theme into a crazy announcement that we might get Valk vs Empress on PPV would have been a very valid reason. That said, it did allow Empress to elaborate a bit more on her intent. Many others are also talking about the fire from OWEN in that OWEN/DOC promo and man oh man I loved it. I thought these two would be done post cide but this battle for respect is ramping up and this RP got me very hyped up. Colin mentioned the BDC promo which I think I appreciate so deeply because I get many of the references, but if you don't understand, just keep reading because this chaos was awesome. I was a little sad to have a show devoid of much Marisa content, especially after the RIOT betrayal, but the anticipation builds for when we do get something big. Aries/Chance also an underrated hit that provided still continuity on GOAT Academy and kept things relevant while still providing backstory. Shout out to everyone for all the development on this show! RSR awaits!
  25. Even though I was a part of it, I am also very interested in this Maxx Edwards internal conflict. After building himself into a character we can all get behind this first major hurdle or "failure" sending him spiraling leaves him in a vulnerable spot. Clearly not satisfied with having "potential" anymore. The very real self-doubt that can come up whenever you fall just short of such a huge accomplishment is relateable to say the least and obviously the dynamic between Maxx and Colin - who themselves have a history - is super fun to watch play out. Despite their similar overall trajectory and breakouts, to see Colin shift into even deeper rooted confidence and Maxx start to question himself. Stay on the strong side Maxxy. Fuck those Cuntstianity weirdos.
