Moments ago, as first announced by OCW General Manager Tiberius Dupree via OCW's official Instagram page, RIOT 579 has officially been SUPERSIZED! --- We had no idea the bombshell we were in for, as RIOT has added 2 marquee matches to the 579th edition of their bi-weekly television program. The matches will be ADDED to several huge matches already on the card, which include a much-anticipated rookie debut with Connor Harnage taking on SANCTUM member OWEN, Thomas Archer and Colby McCallum facing off against Justice Inc, LLC, and the International Champion Maxx Edwards facing H2O in the main event, his first match since winning the championship. As of right now, there have been no matches removed from the what is already expected to be the biggest pro wrestling show of the year for 2022. The first match mentioned by Dupree will have Super S-Cup runner-up and crossbrand star Harris Turner take on OCW Legend Tobin Frost in singles action. Two other major stars will also renew their hostilities as Dillinger Enterprises' own Alastair Ross will once again cross paths with life-long rival Jacob Trance ahead of his expected CCW World Championship match with Antonio Everrett at the 17th Anniversary show this February. That's right - Jacob Trance vs Alastair Ross and Tobin Frost vs Harris Turner. -- In order to accommodate this seismic shift in the action, RIOT has moved it's airtime to Saturday afternoon at 3PM, the usual time for the companies Pay-Per-View events. With the card already announced and these additions, not to mention the explosive events of last week's episode of Turmoil, RIOT 579 is shaking up to be a Pay-Per-View caliber event all on it's own.

As was first reported by Gabe Seltzer and hardly verified by any of our several blokes named Adam, there have been some changes to the upcoming Ambition: In Your Mom's House card. The over-the-top rope battle royal scheduled for Ambition's first plunge into "named" events in the modern era will see shakeup, as 2 members of the 6-man affair have been officially ruled out of action for undisclosed medical reasons. Veteran grappler, the former "Man Called Joopiter" Matias Duplooy posted a heartfelt message on his Twitter account earlier this morning, thanking his fans for their support and expressing his sincere regret for being unable to attend Ambition later this month, though he remained unclear on the nature or severity of his medical concerns. In addition, Gabe Seltzer reported that in an apparently unrelated incident, OCW Rookie Ruke was also heard to have been removed from the match. Ruke signed his OCW Contract in late 2021 and was expected to be a fixture on Ambition in the new year. He has not yet been reached for a statement on this matter as of this post. -- While it's not yet known whether these two are legitimately injured, if the removals are coincidence, or if they are connected in any way. The match is still being promoted on OCWFED.com and it's not yet known whether new participants will be entered in their place, the match itself will go on as a 4-way, or it will be scrapped altogether. More details will be posted as WhereCulture learns more information. No other competitors have been affected that we know of and the other matches scheduled to headline are still expected to take place. OCW Ambition: In Your Mom's House is scheduled for Saturday, January 29th at 3PM ET on twitch.tv/ocwfed and will feature the current #1 contenders for the OCW Tag Team Championships, Sanctum, take on The Wrestling Club in 6-man tag team action, as well as Joe Deaver vs Alastair Ross in a No DQ match. As always, WhereCulture will continue to be your number one source in hastily reported, potentially harmful clickbait in the world of pro wrestling.

Hallo- S17 premiere was a fuggin blast, hoot. - Doc's return got the pop it deserved, he's been gone for a while now, so just happy to see him back in the ring and what better way to do it than by backing his long-time best lad against the very team that caused him to be sidelined for a while. Storytelling at it's finest and a great job interweaving the universe, looking forward to seeing where this goes. - Lumping all of Ry's character vignettes here: Excellent work as always and a nice way to preview or establish each one. Probably because she's new, Ambition's own Bobbi Baddii stood out the most to me, but Mina's an always interesting future cyborg. I'm more interested in QC Connect as a team than Claudio himself for now. - Lunchbox's simple and effective presentation makes him instantly likeable, nothing over the top or "wrestly" about him, which is refreshing. Moveset is also well done and fits what you'd expect that character to do. The simplicity of the RP afterwards was also well done. - Sheldon making his P3 debut! Quite strapping, ole chap. As always, I dont review P3 because you need to experience it for yourself. Go read. - Another huge return just showing that S17 is not slowing down. Good guy Ashley Moore, despite being out of action for an entire year, was still a major point in so many huge storylines in Season 16, so her being back in the ring is a treat. - Mantis' entrance and presentation have toned down a bit, which is for the better. After his solid voice promo last year, I expected something leaning more in this direction. The in-ring work left a lot to be desired here, so hopefully Mantis sticks around, listens to feedback and improves. - Marissa is a fucking heat magnet. If this was a normal March show or whatever, the long hangs on the taunts and all that would have been overdone, but this was the perfect place to do that kind of thing imo. Not something you'd wanna see every week, but if you didn't know Marissa "Ironwoman" Welch before, there's no ambiguity regarding what she's all about. - It seems the Archer/Judge/McCallum saga is not yet over! Archer - like many good promos on this show - used few words in an effective way, you don't need to speak for 4 minutes or go on long diatribes if you know how to work. The scenery, music, etc told that story for him. - The Triple Threat with Harri and Alexa was probably up there with one of my favorite multiman matches I've had. Nonstop action, no fucks given about reversals, no overthinking, no thirsting to get a win, just fighting and great organic OCW spots. - The Sanctum pre-match promo is perfect for setting up not only the huge #1 contenders match, but also does a couple of other things. 1. The quick shift from OWEN to Fraser to Sheldon all read so differently and show that they're not just wrestlebots, I could read each personality through their section. 2. They covered the match and the other groups in OCW, which I love for universe interweaving purposes. I enjoy when everyone crosses paths like this. Also, Sheldon warning Elliot tha the'll be tossed to wherever Kinder is. Oof. - The Clark Effect was a weak point on the show to me, but it's a high bar because there was a lot of good. The voice work was awesome, glad to see folks doing more of it. I'm not sure what I expected Parca to sound like, but that "evil late 90s Rey Mysterio" voice actually works well. Also a Parca/Colin feud is always going to be sick. I also liked the Greene inclusion, but the match I felt was a bit much. It's not the first time a heel has stolen satisfaction away from the viewer with a match followed by DQing himself. Had the match just had a few minutes and that, it would have been better. The 13 minute match with 400,000 finisher kickouts exhausted me by the end. Comp is comp, though. Good showing from CG, interested to see where he fits in here. Also Gonzalo being added to the mix complicates things! All in all, story stuff I liked, didn't need the match. - The Cort/Jehst segment was a sad one, but one we knew was coming. Good short sendoff for Jehst (for now) and as I said in VP, the pop when he returns will be amazing. - Alexa's post match promo continues long-long-LONG term continuity with Furiosa, who was unlocked by Mina last year and apparently is still here. Furiosa and Alexa further establishing that relationship... hmmmmm  :smirking: - Post S Cup Bax is better than ever and it's impossible to have a bad match with Cort Marshall, and spoiler, this was not. Absolutely the best singles match of the night and my fucking god. Peak OCW was Cort hitting Jehst's Hollywood taunt right before the Cortplex. You can't write a finish better than that. - H2O is a hot dripping mess of goat urine. The Kennedy-esque mic from the rafters is vintage loser ass Good bLight. H2O has fully embraced his "Season 13 LHW Champion" persona thinking that's going to help him. Funny that. It's not Season 13 anymore. Last Brother Standing, eh? Word, motherfucker. Word. - Harri's Bizarre Adventure!! Very creative camera work in this one, crazy that I think I know this game in and out and how I could use the tools within it to make content and guys like Colin, Ry, and Maxx always show me that I really don't know shit. Initially, I thought Harri was "imagining" kicking Joanna and then back in reality, she just walked by, but after I watched it back, I think this is Joanna's House of Faith creepiness at play here. She manipulated time and space Mugen style, which is wild. Joanna needs a bit more screentime, because there's something scary and dominant there, maybe S17 is the time. Also Harri's annoying fucking character is amazing. Took like 3-4 appearances to win me over. - SANCTUM AND TWC was match of the night by FAR. So much good shit in a watchable package. Lots of tags, lots of tag strategy and management, just perfect imo. I'm NGL, I did not expect Sanctum to win at all, so much that I actually reached out to John Carter to put together a contingency plan bc I completely forgot when I booked him against Harris Turner next week. Needless to say, we didn't need it. Sanctum lads on top and man if they dethrone Puro Country next week. I might fly to Europe and hug each of em individually. except Fraser, that dudes' nuts. - Maxx video work is A1, as we all already knew. The big story from End Games last year (imo) for me was Maxx and Colin's feud and finale. Maxx also showing he's a top guy by not fucking around and immediately diving into another A1 feud, this time with Harris Turner, fresh off an undefeated S Cup. Turner is a scary challenger and I could easily see him grabbing the white strap and holding it forever. - Interesting turn in the Colby/Jordan saga, but sensical based on what we know. Colby is oddly familial with Jordan despite being a complete dickhead to everyone else. I guess not "odd", but I do appreciate a wrinkle of a clear heel having morally subjective tendencies around certain people. It's better than ME BAD ME HATE GOOD. Same goes for Trance, who seems to be taking the custody change well. - *whew*. Here we go, another Lotus FloJo championship chase. Will this finally be the year? She has always shown to be a great chaser of the title, which Mujera apparently agrees with, as she reminds us that she's a complete cunt after what she did at Summercide, of which I will never forgive her for. FloJo has a lot of good momentum right now and I hope she's able to earn her spot. - John and Trance lmaooo "no, no, that was just a meme... It cant be!". Every promo should end with this John backs up some more then turns and runs away - Main Event was fun and the sudden death/unexpected ending was also a good time. YOU NEVER KNOW WHATS GONNA HAPPEN IN OCW! Perfect way for Rust to start the year, still a good rub for Iceman. Alastair Ross sending a clear message post match. I told him champions make more money. He picked the Frenchest one. LOVE YOU OCW

Turmoil 272: PLUS ULTRA The Season Finale!
Quartz replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in The Daily Suplex
We trailed off a bit towards the end of the season but my god. Seasons 14-16 were insane and nothing will ever top Maxx/Colin's ballad. You guys make life worth living. Let's blow them away at End Games.- 1 reply

-- 3 RPs -- - Staring with the continuing saga between Colby and Jordan Trance, popped huge for the reference to the JackMo/Cort Marshall monster truck fight from a few years ago as well as the meta commentary in the narration parts. Colby potentially turning over a new leaf by trying to help his cousin find the man who attacked the Judge. It took me 2 reads to understand fully what was happening, because it's a fast moving scene, but essentially a tiny remote control truck steals the tape that would have maybe revealed the masked man. Solid job putting such an obvious license plate on there. Colby definitely isn't turning over a new leaf. Poor Jordan getting the wool pulled over his eyes. - The Clark Effect was awesome. So many things happening at once and the ability for one RP, that wasn't actually overly long, to accomplish many developments at once was great. Looks like we have Puro Country's first official defense set! WoV have been hot and this is great for them. We had callbacks galore here too, from Aisu's history with Parca, to Reese and Stacy's history, to Parca's callbacks with Reese. Just great stuff from all involved. - Gotta call out Hollywood USA and Tony's promo. Cort is always money in these with the one-liners and this was no different. Tony's been on fire with the promos since he returned from his hiatus early this year. Tony leaning more heel by default in this feud, but that's okay. Being a dynamic character like Everrett means you can be the same guy and lean various ways depending on your opponent. My absolute #1 most hyped match heading into the PPV. -- 2 Segments -- - (allegedly) Alex Asher shitting on the car was very solid, and Asher/Iceman is sneakily one of the better builds over the last few months. Asher/Marisa caught the eyes of the entire fed early in the season and Marisa capping off her heel turn on Valkyrie with a ridiculous double down and insulting Asher's manhood is cold. The spurned lover may have lost here against Harris Turner, but he's going to be fired up to get revenge when this Iceman match happens. - Man, OWEN and Sheldon Tremblay turning something organic into something great this entire show. The shock win over QC Connect and doubling down on their connection as rookies. I love this team on paper and hope we get more of them going forward. I would like to see a bit more character out of Sheldon, maybe something to set him apart from OWEN. Frasers potential inclusion is all the better, but he was with Harris Turner on this show too, so it'll be interesting to see what his role is, he appears to be just this locker room vet guy. I missed RnR's debut last week, was pretty disappointed not to see anything from them on this show to follow up on that. Anyways, Tag Team Division is looking juicy as fuck heading into Season 17. -- 1 Match -- There's no other match that can "win" than the ME. The comeback and star making performance from Maxx to be the first non-Nate to pin Rust since February (wink) is a huge accomplishment and I'm glad I threw him in that ME, because he deserves it. I've never heard a VP pop like that for a TV match the way they did when Maxx got the 3 count. That International title match at End Games is the battle for the future of OCW, because both of those guys are S tier level OCWers. They fully understand the assignment. -- All in all, I'm glad you guys vindicated my decision to book the show this way and it only proves to me that I can get crazy as shit with my bookings going forward until I'm proven wrong. Keep up the awesome work! I was so sad to miss last week and this week just sucked me right back in. End Game in 3 weeks!!!!

Great point. La Mujera of all people not showing up even once was pretty disgusting. Capitalizing on such a moment cashing in at Summercide, essentially calling her shot and everything , then with the big match at Ladies Night. That's why I'm frustrated with not seeing FloJo or Ashley Moore as well. I didn't mention in the "review", but I completely agree with the take on Mantis segment. Admittedly, I thought this version of Mantis was just gonna be "ooh spooky unkillable demon", but I ike the take where he still cuts promos and keeps it grounded in reality. The cadence on the promo wasn't bad either. I'm back on board. In terms of my segment, I can confirm that VP was no more receptive than anywhere else. It kinda went right by everyone's head in there and we moved on. A bit disappointing, as a 3 year-long build up reveal didn't quite get the reaction I expected, but it is what it is. I have faith in our roster, though. We'll do better.

A lot of really good matches. I really enjoyed the tag team match, probably my favorite of the night. Dominant debut for Harri Etiquette, instant impact with the entrance and everything. I absolutely love Marisa joining the WoV. Interesting decision for John to step back and allow Dylan to be the head of TWC. We'll see where that goes, as Dylan is gonna need to improve a lot to hold his own in and out of the ring. Lots of mystery attackers, namely the one on Nate Mac, who retreated. More than likely Asher, but I don't really feel that makes sense if that is the case. I feel Asher has been really screwed over here and should be playing more of a sympathetic baby. Perfect opportunity for that turn now. Loved Harri and Joe promos as rookie debuts. Putting exclamation points on their win. Joe, get your FPR right. Get through those rookie hiccups that everyone has and keep going. I am so fucking hyped to see Harris Turner. That video work was simple yet amazing. So much DDE/WOV on this show. In fact, just an absolute ton of work from the same few people. Wish we could have seen more from the less active folks like Gabriel, Shawn X, Nathaniel Anderson, Nathan Carter. Feel like this show was good, but light in terms of roster presence. Where is Danny Watts? Where is Thomas Archer? Telos? Hunter McIntyre? (Called that shit, btw) FloJo??? Blaine??? These are people coming off big segments/moments over the last few weeks and get just get nothing from them. From an activity standpoint, very disappointing. Likely people finally winding down after 3 full years, but still. The video stuff was awesome and continued ambition from my favorites like Marisa, Tony, Jehst, Nick, Maxx, Colin etc... But reading this webshow afterwards left a LOT to be desired. Shout out to the RPs we did get, but I'd like to see more activity from others if they're actually still interested. Hope we do better for RIOT.

September 25th, 2000 - Philadelphia PA, USA Fading in, a distraught man... A doctor, in scrubs, shuts a door behind him. Stepping forward, a man with blue hair tied back shakes his head, tears filling his eyes. Man: It's over, isn't it? Doctor: The cancer spread. She had multiple viral infections. She fought so hard since we saw her 2 years ago. I'm so sorry. The man tilts his head back and nods. Tears falling down his face. Man: Thank you, doctor. Thank you for doing what you could. The man turns around to see a boy, about 14 years old, sitting patiently in a chair, looking straight down at the cold tiled hospital floor. The man closes his eyes tight, before slowly opening them and nodding. Man: This is going to be the hardest thing I've ever done. As the man walks over, the eyes of the boy open wide to look up at him. Boy: Dad? The scene goes entirely silent as the boy begins to cry. He shakes his head and closes his eyes tight... ...As he opens them, one of his eyes has shifted to a dark blue. No longer are the eyes filled with tears. Now curiosity. -- July 11th, 2005 - Toronto ON, CA Fading in, we see the same boy, now grown to a young man. His brow furrowed, focused. Boy: My dad, he died 3 years ago. I know he spent a lot of time up here. I am just doing some admin and need to know what you have on him. Joseph Quartz. The woman behind the desk types away and peeks up. Woman: Yes. And do you have his inform- Before she can finish, the boy slides a card across the table with a somber look on his face. The woman's face turns sour. Woman: I'm sorry for your losses. Boy: Thank you. After several moments, the woman hands the boy several sheets of paper in a folder. He opens the folder and nods his head. Boy: ...and these people? They still live in Canada? Woman: I'm sorry, I just don't know. I couldn't tell you even if I did. Boy: That's okay. I'm sure I can find them. Thank you for this. The boy turns to walk out as the scene zooms in on his face. He once again closes his eyes, bringing us back to darkness. -- April 18th, 2006 - Denver CO, USA In the cold, snowing parking lot, a black car slides into frame. Stepping out is the same boy. Now in his early-20s. his hair is tied back and he walks forward in a large black hooded sweatshirt. He looks down at a distorted sheet of paper before looking back up at a large gymnasium. He continues walking into the building and sees a large sign, causing him to stop. 2006 Colorado State High School Wrestling Championships He steps inside and stands in the doorway, looking inside. Inside, he can see a large crowd and several high school athletes preparing for the contest. Suddenly, he snaps back from his focus to answer a question he was getting from a man at the door. Man: Hello? Family or observer? The boy shakes his head to regain his focus and stares at the man in his eyes. Boy: Oh.. uh... Family. Man: Okay, no problem, you're going to want to go through to the right. The man hands him a small ticket stub and points inside the large gymnasium doors. With a look on his face, the boy - Quartz - nods, before walking into the gymnasium as the scene fades.

Turmoil 269: Building New Stars.....AGAIN!
Quartz replied to Mr.Sensation's topic in The Daily Suplex
2 more weeks to Summercide boyo. Tremblay vs Trance Really enjoyed this match, Tremblay came out of the gates on fire, showing he can win resets and manipulate the spacing game with nuance that you don't really get as a rookie. He regressed a bit around halfway point, but that's not any kind of condemnation. Still miles ahead where normal rookies would be at this point. I look for examples of the character, FPR, and comp elements and Sheldon definitely checked 2.5/3 of those boxes for me. I'd say I really want to see more of his character shine now, lets see who he is! Also it was discussed in VP, but Jordan Trance is a great character. To have some of the subtle elements of his dad (HOFer Jacob Trance, you newbies) while also embracing a younger generational feel, it's so well done and for a singular person to be able to realistically convey that difference, maintaining similarities while also acknowledging that parents are almost NEVER carbon copies of their sons/daughters. The evolution of Jordan Trance is interesting and I am looking forward to more of it. - Tony and Danny take a trip to the hospital to meet Rust but find that he's either escaped or been released by the world's greatest Advisor... wait a minute. RYU still hanging around Rust Cohle and doing favors for him. Playing both sides and from a kayfabe standpoint, seems to continue to be effective in pulling strings behind the scenes for both Quartz and Cohle. I like the threads on this show, obviously my own with Bobby but this 3 parter is great too. - Mina as a character interests me, but she will want to be careful to not fall into the trope of just attacking people backstage back and forth until a PPV. I liked the idea last week that Mina really is just a quiet babyface who felt bad for bumping into Heather. I kind of expected Mina, based on the little we know about her, to continue pleading or really state that she meant nothing of it to Heather, which would piss off Heather for lack of confrontation. For Mina to dive right in does progress the conflict, but it also made Mina look cold and heelish, which was not the persona I was picking up on. I know it was revenge, but that's how I felt. - EMP and Dragana are the exact opposite of a trope, delivering a story in a way that makes sense and isn't just Dragana showing up to be a heel when the two had established friendship and history very recently. This is a smart and unique way to pull it off seeing as how it isn't a betrayal of what we know of both of them. Things like this reward the viewer for paying attention and I appreciate that. I'll be donating as a part of the build. I am a little concerned over the lack of attention on the women's title SO FAR. I think we all assumed it was for the women's championship, but with Emp stating this is their last match in OCW, what does that mean for the women's title? I would like to see something before Summercide address that side of things. Time will tell. - FloJo's apathy and lack of care for herself is starting to be reflected in the fanbase. They are clearly sick of her shit and have moved on. FloJo now facing real life consequences to the self-pity and shows that it does actually affect her despite what she says. DDE vs Hollywood USA You can absolutely see which team has chemistry and which one doesn't, here. Dane and Parca almost fight like they're at odds while HUSA fight like a well oiled machine who have each other's backs. For shoot, I wish Cort had a PS4 so that they could get some kind of burn as a tag team. Those attires were god damn fire and Cort's sheer aggression going after the fin down 0 revs to 1 was sick. I love both these guys and this was a huge win going into what will happen later tonight... - Colin in the Locke and Key showing off that he can take almost whatever happens in a comp match and find a way to make a story out of it. Not even mentioning he's still wearing an eyepatch due to the Tre/KD/Colin/Quartz tag match last month, here we see him taking Quartz' escape and calling back to Danny Watts running away as well. Even though Colin has had a bit more presence in the build so far, he connects everything back to Tre in a way that makes sense to me. Solid work as usual. - RUST COHLE THREW NATE INTO THE HUDSON. I'm just saying, I'm not surprised AT ALL that Spider potentially freed Rust Cohle if he knew (or maybe influenced Rust) to take action against Nate Ortiz, a man who's been terrorizing Spider forever now, obviously recently with Quartz/JCS but it goes deeper than that. This was a huge pop moment for me, Rusty is fucking nuts. - The Archer/Colby/Morrison/Telos stuff is very interweaving and as a weakness, that does make it harder to follow for a casual person or someone who doesn't understand all the little things/references they're making. That said, I am not one of those people, so I love it. This RP was a great idea to really solidify the relationship, motives, and reasoning behind Colby/Archer as a unit. Both state what they want and how/why they're going to help each other get there. Archer slipping more into a mentoring role with Colby, which is a good fit. All the comedic stuff is good, with Archer not understanding the culture and trying his best to do so. I know I want to avoid Archer/Dillinger direct comparisons, but this is something I do almost all the time, from trying to be "Urban" with Telos, Jett, and Tayy, to the misplaced "Hispanic" stuff with Parca. It's just free money and I love it here. Also The Dreadnought of Drogheda is a fucking awesome nickname. Mina vs Alyssa vs Morgan Action packed triple threat. There was a good pace and everyone had a moment to shine. Mina(Ry) showing that their FPR is definitely improving. The VERY opportunist ending with Alyssa slipping in a rocket kick and stealing the win falls in line with how the Parker/Marceaux family does it's business, but it wasn't like, a "shitty" ending. I'm not sure if that opinion came from in character shit talking but anyone giving Alyssa shit for going for the win in that moment are silly. I do agree with inital VP reactions that Mina VANDENHOFF's moveset is very cool and I think is fitting to what little we know of the character. Morgan was already set from a character/moveset/presentation place, we know she's a great and well thought out character. Now Alyssa. I really haven't hated the slow burn she's given us in her build up RPs. I think she got it a little TOO hard from a moveset perspective. I personally think that's the nature of 2 things. 1. Her moveset has the exact same vibe as Elliott Parker. 2. She's controlled by Elliot as a handler and people love to give him shit. Now being super indy and having this over the top moves everywhere in the moveset is a problem in itself to a point. I feel like Elliott has carved that "style" into his own thing and to see another character come in and be a carbon copy is a little "eh". I know there's a clear connection between the two in storyline so it doesn't NOT make sense, it's just not really what I was expecting. - Stacy Clark now with Blaine, she is a very busy woman. She makes it clear who she is, good short promo interrupted with spooky lights turning off. I haven't seen if Val shows up later in the show, but to see this show landing on Friday the 13th and THIS be all we get from Val Vorhees I feel is a massive missed opportunity. This is a moment as a rookie you should really be pushing your ideas to the person you're working with, this had to be Val's show and from a video perspective (and so far for RPs) it seems like a missed opportunity. Just Derek vs Fraser MEAT. This was one of those awkward matches where things just kinda don't go your way. It was absolutely a fight, but Fraser just couldn't find a way to get his hands on the head to damage it, then missing a few fin attempts, just happens that way sometimes. Comp being what it is. The match was not *bad* just because it was a little longer. This match had more than enough storyline backbone to hold it up. Good win from Fraser. I was a little confused at the ending, I feel with a week left we could have found a slightly better way to rebuild the tension between OWEN and Fraser. They just agreed to have each other's back and now when it's time to actually do that, there's a problem? I see where it was coming from, with Fraser saying "I didn't need it", but clearly you did. It might be because of how it went down. If like, Fraser and Derek were just throwing hands and nothing final happened when OWEN showed up, that'd be more effective. Instead, DEREK FLATTENED Fraser, took him out with a fin and everything. He clearly did not have it handled. Either way, the OWEN/FRASER story moves along towards Summercide with Derek trying to make a name for himself as well. - I really liked the Everrett/Garcia promo battle. Tony's been HEAT with the solo promo material recently. There's a lot to follow on these shows to fully enjoy them and while I do, being able to step back and just watch a guy talk that shit by himself and get me pumped is a tried and true strategy. The intro of Garcia showing more of his backbone is good, standing on his own legs in DDE and standing up for his Trib- El Primero. This works because we already saw Parca get driven out by an ambulance, it wouldn't make sense for him to be here. Garcia in his absence works a bit better and shows he's more than a background character. I will say, and I know this is a product of multiple people writing on one document, but PLEASE be consistent in Morrison Method naming. Everrett switches from "Everrett" to "Ev" to "Tony" and back to "Ev" before the document is done. It reads much better when you refer to a person with ONE name the entire time. The first switch makes sense, establishing who it is then shortening it, but the switching back and forth can be confusing to read and it's an easy fix. - Who would have thought we would have TWO great courtroom-based-videos in one season? Maxx's has it's own flavor and hits a lot of notes mine was not able to and vice versa, so it doesn't feel like a copy. Very unique and as all Maxx videos are, incredibly entertaining. I can't express how much people like Maxx and EMP (and Marisa) inspire me to want to keep creating. Sometimes when I spend a weekend on a video and it just goes by without much fanfare, I get a little discouraged, but then I watch videos from other people like Maxx's here and I feel the immense appreciation I have for them and can be re-encouraged that my videos might pop people in the same way. Silly tangent, but I do appreciate OCW a lot. Anyways, Judge Brown delivering the best verdicts, PPV matches. Tucker's return to OCW has been as I expected it would be. He's been one of my favorites since the "LETS GO" era through the Caine era and now this version of Tucker. It's just great stuff and I think Tucker vs Edwards low-key has a shot to steal the show at Cide. - Valkyrie and Marisa's showdown was solid. I was worried at first Marisa was going to go back to attacking from behind, but since we already saw that, I was happy to see the little promo on the big screen. Valk making a statement and it goes back to the whole thing I said with Tony's promo. Simple and plain and effective, especially because this style falls by the wayside a lot on our shows. We're varied! La Mujera vs Blaine Just two of our most fun handlers doing what they do best. Very good competitive stuff here, Blaine's always a victim of the big comeback and it happened again here. Mujera keeping her presence felt and we see Holly at the end just to keep that in mind. Not bad for story wise and the match was awesome. The trading of moves and the back and forth was very fun. - More interweaving universes between characters here, it's something that the Attitude Era did very well, making sure you knew all these individual storylines were happening in an interconnected universe and not an isolated bubble. It's fun and I think OCW might do it better (for better or worse) than most real life companies currently. That said, the whole Colby calling Trance "baby cousin" every single line really stood out to me here. It might just be because someone mentioned it and now it's standing out, but it feels unnatural to me. At any rate, I do like that Colby and Jordan's relationship is not really heel/face more than it is just family members who aren't automatically evil to each other because of their OCW alignment. That part is refreshing. I'm sure we're on a crash course between these two at some point in S17. - That video for QC Connect was awesome! It appears Claudio Stardom has found a partner... but who is the handler! - I guess everyone read my mind on the simple but effective promos, because Telos delivers another one. Telos being very clear and to the point. He talks about his own history too, which we haven't gotten a lot of since he came back at Lution. I dig it. - KD is back and is ready to crack some skulls. - MUGEN IS BACK! When in danger, break glass for P3! Jehst's program with Dane was obviously interrupted and the fact P3 storm in to save the day makes my heart warm! Jehst vs Mugen is a fuggin dream match for me personally and there's no way this is going to be bad. Main Event Battle Royal For shoot, this idea came up when I realized we only had 3 weeks of TV before Cide and I wanted to show out for Turmoil. We all see the card for RIOT so you see Kent was of the same mindset on his end. This delivered in every way I wanted it to! OTR Battle Royals are so fun and these guys played to the special rules perfectly (except you AC Cobra, you cheating fuck). There was SO MUCH going on in this match and I dug it. Not only were the stakes high to begin with, but Chris getting elim'd first and taken down by Carter and kicked out of TWC, that was great. Then we go to Iceman interfering and taking out Blacksmith to keep their story going and giving a GREAT out for Blacksmith, given he was the favorite for me. I almost could not have booked this better if I tried. H2O looking to recapture the good light and TY being the perennial "I'm here" guy in the final 2 worked for me as well. Carter obviously being a shit bag and attacking H2O, then Baker coming out afterwards to speak on it. H2O is now the number one contender. What does this mean for Anthony Baker?! I really enjoyed this show from an RP AND match standpoint. I didn't feel like anything on this show save for 1 or 2 little moments wasted my time. OCW IS ENTERTAINMENT HOOT!- 9 replies

In an exclusive interview at the conclusion of Turmoil 269, based on the events that took place at Turmoil, which saw Bobby Minio evade Quartz and whip Ryu "Spider" Matsumoto several times with his belt, the OCW General manager announced that there will be order and he will see to it personally. OCW General Manager Tiberius Dupree has announced that there will be a Championship Press Conference next Friday for RIOT 575. It will be moderated by Dupree himself and all media members will be invited to ask questions and get the thoughts of the two competitors before their match at Summercide. Bobby Minio returned 3 weeks ago in Detroit at the OCW Consequence Pay-Per-View. Time will tell what effect Dupree will have as he attempts to tame a seemingly untamable situation between the two.

RPS - You just gotta love the MMM/Archer series so far. It has all the mixings of stupid meta jokes and progression, not taking itself too seriously. The Mad Mike Mansion is a place to behold and I kinda wanna take some acid and go there. - The back and forth with EMP and Dragana is unique, not in a hateful kind of way like most returns or staking claim to the title. Continuing the dynamic they had before with the knowledge that they're on a collision course. This leaked into the video with the Kumite as well. - The Hollywood USA promo has to be my pick for the last one. With Jasmine continuing to try and flirt with Jehst and mayhaps is actually falling for him. Can't say I blame her, but is ole Justin going to fall for it? Videos This show in total felt like a women's division showcase, which was awesome. We had the Mina video trying to keep the peace with Heather and getting her ass kicked, the post Kota Rain segment and the creepy voice talking to FloJo over the PA system. We had Marisa doing Marisa things and getting her face kneed' off by Valkyrie. Just good stuff all around. The two Dominion promos were good, but the Tony/Parca one felt a little bit long. I enjoyed it, but it could have been a text RP just the same. I'm always going to be a fan of that style of editing and I'm glad someone else is using it now, as it's really versatile in what you can do with the stills. I appreciate the effort that goes into that style and the RP was readable and effective. - Valkyries' return and revenge was very good as a moment. With Marisa hearing cheers but thinking they're for her to the quick-and-clean attack from Valk, getting revenge and not overstaying it's welcome. Very good stuff. - I'll group all the Dominion stuff into one for my second pick. The implosion is happening all over the board and not necessarily due to one person's ego or whatever. It's a good way to keep faction implosions new and fresh. Of all people snapping and breaking the group, the calm, cool, collected one (Nate) being the main facilitator was not what I expected. Match - Some dope matches on this show, but I have to give the nod to the tag team match playa. AC and TY work well as a team and the whole tag match was great. Falling just a hair short and catching a couple spears did them in but you know I'm a sucker for a good tag team match. This also displays the continued friendship of Antonio and Nate despite everything else going on so I wonder if that will play into the continued destruction of Dominion?

Awesome review as usual Maxxy. I largely agree with most of what you said, any conflicts can be seen on the post show pod (when Jay allowed me to talk, wink) Only thing I'll respond to directly is calling Quartz vs KD a "non-finish shenanigan match". I do not agree at all with that descriptor, as it had a clear beginning and a clear finish, that being a pinfall. Nonfinish usually refers to a countout or a DQ or a no contest or something. You may generically be referring to the fact it wasn't a paint by numbers comp match, which we talked about in the post-show pod. The comp match is in there and it fades into it during the second black phoenix. That is also the reason I added huds in post, so the transition to the actual comp finish would not be as jarring/sudden and would be cleaner. Also YES the next three weeks are going to be PACKED to get ready for Summercide and I'm sure will operate like supercards in a way, segment wise.

3 -- - EMP and Dragana's RP at the beginning is chock full of character building and continuity, even a reference back to a Terra/Dragana match on Turmoil during "The Troupe" days. EMP's kickoff promo was very gud and relevant in all the best ways for me. - Some good stuff for the same reason in H2O/Horse promo. References of priors between the two, and brining up the fact Harv saved TLB but he didn't return the favor was a real "aha!" moment for me. Either subtle storytelling OR a very good job to catch what happened organically and use it as a part of this longer term story. Since they already had their feud before, I'm interested to see how this (and their impromptu match later) turn out. - "He rubs his hands together, much like a pondering fly, his will seemingly has been done, Mike’s party is ruined." Hilarious. Archer still gunning for Mike but now Telos and Colby are definitely in the mix. I liked the scene here, with it opening I expected a much more comedic tone, but it was all aggression from McCallum and Telos. (save for the end). The universe connecting in weird ways! - I have to cheat and add Justice INC, LLC.'s segment in the storage lockers. Everything about this is hilarious. From Judge playing straight man to the other two's tomfoolery to fucking SCOOP REPS. Colin doesn't miss. I'm glad he took this impromptu team and ran with it because it's very much a great read every week. (Also good on OWEN for a great promo that delivers a little more backstory and explains a bit more who he is. Love the big babyface boi standing his ground.) 2-- - Caine's Code Jackman promo was good-weird, and the substance within it tells me that H2O is the real heel here leaking incorrect information to dirt sheets and Caine is innocent of what he's being accused of. Typical H2O shenanigans. Adding a wrench into this story on the go-home. The PPV match should be interesting. - Valk's fucking deepfake video. Holy moly. She's truly a crossover star in all the best ways and I love that she leans into it like Hollywood Rock. Very on the nose and still beloved by fans all over the world. 1-- - AC Cobra vs Tobin showed that AC can hold his own, at least for a little bit, against a big dog. He really struggles against heavyweights, and his speed is very effective, but he just needs a couple more big moves to avoid getting that big slam that'll run him down a whole health bar. All in all, another great outing for Tobin as he plunges forward towards whatever it is he's after (leave me alone) and AC Cobra proved that he can hang a little bit. Reminded me of the R2G title match, honestly.

Valkyrie is 100% correct on the naming thing. My only problem with the premise is that Terra did the same thing 3 weeks ago, so diminishing returns kinda thing. The same thing with naming the video a certain way was on my "KD Speaks" video. It's meant to be disingenuous because otherwise it'd lose the intended effect. I also feel on the KD promo that some may have been lost as to what I did. We have a lot of new people too. Colin mentioned he enjoyed the IRL promo I did, but for the record, I don't want the intent to be lost. KD's vertical video promos are legendary and have been some of my favorite stuff in OCW. It's a trope of his to run people down in close-up, vertical video promos and as soon as he won that FFW I knew I had to parody it. I'm a smarmy asshole, so there's your OCW history lesson for the day. Also, Spoiler Alert: I'm going to kick KDs fucking ass at Consequence.

I DIG IT OCW 321 3 RPs - Antonio Everrett's promo backstage addressing all of his shit in 1 concise promo, including some AMAZING callback/continuity stuff with Elliott. First challenger for the CCW title coming up and THE NEW STARS ARE RUNNING THE SHOW! You love to see it. - Empress/Ashley for the same reason as Tony's. Callbacks, referencing old stuff, really allowing the reader to dive into the long-term relationship of Ashley and Empress. Character development that makes you care about both competitors more. - I'm cheating, but I'm going with both of Archer's segments for #3. They were both short and had great lines. The MMM one popped me "...With a swimming pool". Archer has hands in many pots, as does Telos. :thinkingx3: --- 2 videos I am very proud of the Court video. Shout out to Cort/Dane for the idea and Dane for getting me those cuts so the work was very easy to do. I am not voting for my own shit, though lol. - H2O slapping Caine. I have no idea where this is going and they're making me watch again next week to find out. DIG IT. H2O trying to be the good guy in the face of insurmountable odds. Is this a ruse from Caine? So many questions. - Spa day! C'mon, how can you not pick this one? Legendary stuff and I am SO GLAD that Tucker's appearance wasn't just a cameo on Maxx'd out. I'm all in on super chill Tucker getting under the B list bad boys skin. LETS G-- I mean.. It's all good, bro. Maxx is super talented and makes me want to do better each week. --- 1 match - This wasn't the hottest week match-wise, but they were not bad by any means. The tag team match was very fun and AC/TY work super well together. I love tag team wrestling. Telos/Tre was fine, but I couldn't get past the production issues and Tre's absolute lack of giving any kind of shit about his product. Emp vs Evelyn was a fun watch with Evelyn almost coming back and THE RETURN OF TYSON WAGNER was amazano. I HAVE PTSD. That said, the main event has to take the cake this week. Great match with a solid ending, as long as it's not overdone, these kinds of endings can have a good impact. Jon continues to need 100 different advantages to win matches and plays it up well. The end scene was fucking chaos too, I felt it could have had a few more connecting scenes, but it got the job done. Honorable mentions being Colby's return and fitting smoothly back into the action as well as another mystery dancing woman video. VERY Sports Entertaining show... One more until the PPV. The summer ratcheting up!
